Pine Beach Inn - פורט בראג

Myself, my mom, wife, son, and nephews took an overnite trip to Fort Bragg. We stayed at the Pine Beach Inn. When we walked in, the room was huge. We had two double beds, plenty of space, and a nice back patio with a grassy area for the kids to run and play. The private beach was amazing and secluded. The only downfalls were the beds were really uncomfortable, and the contenintal breakfast was weak. Overall the stay was nice and a good time was had by all.

The location and view of the ocean from the top floor is great. But the Inn needs lots of cleaning and repairs. Examples; the door dead-bolt didn't work, the toilet barely flushed, the lights were too dim to read by (all interior lights were "high efficiency" but very dim), there was rust on the metal stair supports and there was accumulated dirt piles in some of the corners. The free breakfast was very poor with no pastry and the other choices were very limited. This used to be a top-notch Inn and could be again with lots of needed repairs and cleaning.

Checked in after hours (office closes at 10 pm) The host/manager was very nice and accomodating. Great location. Older units, but perfectly acceptable. I would stay again.

The ocean view is beautiful from the ocean view rooms

We we celebrating a lost life and the features we did like were the private beach and flower patch. They had day use tennis rackets and balls to play around with. It was nice to lay in bed and look and the ocean. The place needs a face lift. It is out dated and needs new bedding. No coffee in the room but there is some in the lobby.

Great quiet hotel with lovely service. Walk to a secluded beach or have a bbq. What more can you ask for?

When the other reviewers are saying that the hotel is old and run-down, they were not kidding. The quality of the rooms was below par: the bathroom tub had the enamel peeling off. We got the ocean view rooms which were a joke (you can see ocean on one side when you step out to balcony). Only ocean view, there is no ocean access. I wish we had stayed in a place in Fort Bragg. Pine beach inn needs to seriously upgrade its rooms.

We found the location quite easily. Check in was fast, since we had used Hotels.com for payment. The room they originally assigned us was upstairs, but they quickly changed us to downstairs at our request. The rooms are old, and have a musty damp smell, but they were clean. We did discover that there was no reception for our cell phones (except every now and then 1 bar would show up and maybe a text would come through) and there was no WiFi available (which wasn't all that necessary). We had to drive into Fort Bragg or down to Mendocino to get phone connection. This was totally inconvenient since our family had been spread out in the area for our daughters wedding, so communication was lost. I wouldn't stay there again. I would pay more money and get a room in town, either way.

My wife and I stayed at the Pine Beach Inn for an anniversary trip. The Inn is not well lit, we arrived late in the evening and almost drove by. Since the lobby is about 2 feet above grade, the manager had to come to me as I am unable to use stairs and they don't have a ramp. There is a newish appearing ramp in front of the room and the doors were wide enough. The linens didn't match and the bed didn't seem to fit the platform. The fridge in the room ran about 5 minutes out of every 15 but stayed warm. All in all, it looks like the place hadn't been updated in quite a while. The staff were friendly and helpful which is why they didn't get a lower overall grade.

The staff was very kind in allowing us to check out a day early without penalty, so I give them props for that, but overall the hotel was not in great shape. The housekeeping staff definitely needs to do a better job! Old chip on the floor, carpet needs cleaning BAD, just overall dingy and old. Needs a face lift badly.

nice setting. no in room coffee, lobby wasn't open at 7:40 when we left so couldn't get coffee there. this alone would prevent me from staying again

Located just outside of town. Rooms appeared dated a bit, but spacious. For the money, good value.

I am not sure exactly what to make of this place. They call themselves an Inn but in reality it is a motel. First off, we stayed here during spring break, which was obviously offseason here, so we do not know how it is during the summer. It is an older property with several buildings- at least one of which dates back to the 1920's as we learned through photos in the manager's lobby. The room was plain but clean. It had a slight moldy smell probably due to being offseason and not used much. The property has access to a small beach, accesible in about a 5 minute walk. The property offered free interenet, but our room did not have any reception. The manager confirmed that the recption is limited to rooms somewhat closer to the main building. There is a nice Thai restaurant on the property, with the unfortunate name of Viraporn, which offered reasonably priced good meals. Though the website says there is a full stocked bar onsite, the bar (in the restaurant) was not operating during offseason (not important for me, just noting this). A very simple free breakfast was offered in the main lobby in a no frills manner- kind of felt like I was visiting in someone's house. But hey, there was a breakfast- cereal and toast. The impression I got from the property was that it was hopping during the 60's and 70's but is now past its golden days. A little investment in freshening and repairing some things would in my opinion payoff nicely. If you like rustic and quiet, this is it.

The room was very roomy and had a beach view, however,the contact at Hotels.com said we would have a patio from which "we could walk right out on the beach". The beach was actually a 5-10 minute walk. The grounds were spacious and off the road, which was a plus. The whole area looked very run down and the advertised on-site restaurant was closed.

I love the north coast but many of the hotels, B&B's and Inn are crazy expensive but lack luster. Pine Beach Inn was perfect for the price, while the Inn could be updated , it is a great place to take kids and you family pet. There is a private beach which is very safe for kids and totally pet friendly.

Great location to a private beach

The hotel claims to offer a continental breakfast but the lobby was closed during the appropriate time. The restaurant/bar on the premises closed early on Friday and wasn't even open on Saturday or Sunday. The rooms are outdated (no wi-fi, no cofee machine, old, mismatched sheets) and ocean view was limited. very close to a private beech, however. Good for partiers.

Its perfect as expected for the price. wash basin in the toilet has worn marks but everything worked fine. I was little disappointed because I thought ocean can be viewed from anywhere in the room but you can view from certain angle(directly from one bed), patio had great view. Parking is right below my room and its plenty. It has a private beach - I liked it. We had veg padthai in the restaurant its good!

I was amazed at this motel. It is on the south side of Fort Bragg and is right on the beach (up a cliff, but has a path for easy beach access). We had a beach view room, and it was a beautiful sunset and sunrise. What amazed me was that even though the motel decor and furniture is dated (at least our rooms were) and there weren't fitted sheets on one of the beds (we had a two queen room), the view and the restaurant made up for it. The quality of the restaurant was so totally unexpected in this location that it blew me away! Beautiful Thai food with a well done decor and reasonable prices! The room was cold when we arrived, and we were the only ones in our whole block, but it heated up quickly and without much fuss, so that was okay. Breakfast was decidedly average, but was sufficient.

We requested to see the room prior to registration. The key we were given was the wrong room key. An employee directed us to use the key to the room next door. Upon entering, the bed was unmade, linen and towels were seen throughout the floor, horrendous odor, and the "ocean view" was a crack between two hills. We returned to the office, told the Office Clerk we were not staying; she was courteous...hopefully she did not charge us...haven't checked my bank account.

Room was large and clean. Bathroom is ventage but clean. Went during the winter, large grassy area and close to the ocean. Only a few rooms have ocean view... but what a view.

Comfortable and cheap! Beautiful back deck with chairs and view of the ocean. Private beach access. Large queen beds, plenty of sheets, blankets, pillows - so skimping here. Large property with gazebos is fun for families with children, as well as the short walk to the private beach. Away from the main area of Fort Bragg by 4 or 5 minutes makes it a very peaceful ocean side stay. Thai restaurant on site.

The room was clean and big. no bad smell like some reviews have stated. i did get the ocean view. we had a balcony and could see and hear the ocean . a private path to ocean not right on water , but fine. the price was good compared to other hotels near the water. the restaurant next to the hotel was very good. we had enough hot water and heat. we were there in feb. close to town. breakfast was begals , coffee bananas, stuff like that. i didn't expect more from a continental breakfast. we had a nice stay!

We had an amazing time at this hotel. The location and private beach were perfect. My husband and I did find ourself saying they could use renovation, and a better housekeeper. The room needed a good deep clean for sure but no bed bugs so we overlooked it because the view. With the right staff and a remodel this place could be 5 stars. We loved it there.

Wonderful beach and access. Clean room, Very accommodating owner and staff. If going in the winter, ask that they turn on the heat before your arrival. First night cold and towels were wet. But in the morning we couldn't have asked for anything nicer or a closer private beach great for diving.

The hotel is a bit dated, but clean and staff were very nice. The view rooms had a beautiful view of the cove.

Raul at registration : nice person. Room : towels are thin, small. Room heaters : extremely weak. Not at all for winter weather. Beds and covers : not comfortable. Breakfast : let's not call it breakfast. No noises, which is good.

We were able to get used to the strange smell of the room but it caused us to question cleanliness. We did realize that it was off season, but the overall condition low. It was a beautiful area, and the beach access was a plus.

I rarely write a review but this place was sooooooo bad! The only positive point was that the room was big. It was not clean, the bathroom was leaking from everywhere. We let them know we would arrive round 11pm, they had not put any heating on so we were freezing for 2 hours before it got warm! They were super confused at the counter, and last but not least: "the ocean view" was basically a bunch of bushes! (With a little triangle of water on the far left!!!) Please stay away! Do not encourage this business to continue as is, they are not honest, the photos are misleading, and they will continue!

This hotel has seen better days. It is run down and neglected.Our room was not dirty but the poor condition of the hotel made it feel it. The sheets were thin and worn out. The towels stained and old. Breakfast was almost none existent. The bread had mold on it . The location is a minutes walk from the beach, and the rooms do have a little deck.

Stay at PBI 2-3 times a year. Always great, quiet, basically right at the ocean. Good dive and fish clean-up station.

The hotel stunk including the front desk area. It looked like one of the ran down hotels from a horror flick. I paid for the hotel but never stayed in it. Even after we were completely skeptical we received our hotel keys, opening the door we were greeted to dirty linens beer bottles everywhere and another guests filth. I would never stay in a place like this nor did I.

We needed a place to stay relatively soon and this looked decent online. The stay was fine. The decor was outdated and some of the outlets didn't work, but it was all we needed.

The hotel is not right in Fort Bragg, but south by about 2 min. Room was clean, but old and the bed could have been a bit more comfortable, but good enough for one night. Lovely private beach for exploring.

Considered average. Booked two rooms. One of the rooms had not been cleaned and we had to move to another room. Area was quiet. View of ocean was great. Great place for a family reunion since it is spread out and had plenty of room for gatherings. The bathrooms and overall appearance was rather old, but comfortable. Would not consider toast and cereal a great breakfast.

No internet!!! Out of town. Don't recommend and shouldn't be offered by hotels.com.

We were not impressed with the hotel. This was one of the only hotels that was not booked up and at a reasonable rate. We found out why. We were given a room with a jacuzzi tub that didn't work. We arrived to our room that had a sign on the jacuzzi saying it was broken. When we complained to the owner he told us that is why we received a discounted rate. We were not notified at the time of booking that we were getting a room with a broken jacuzzi. they also advertize they are on the beach. The beach is blocked by bushes and two or three houses. We arrived to the property at about 9pm on a Friday night and the onsite restruant/bar was already closed. We would not stay here again.

The towels had stains on them and the screen door was broken. We knew the hotel was older but expected it to be better kept. We upgraded to a "suite" but all this was was a 2 bedroom with the 2nd bedroom never used - we will not stay in the hotel again.
