For those looking for a relatively inexpensive clean hotel in a great location on Kata Beach, one of the best swimming beaches in the world, then Tropical Garden is the place for you. The hotel is in a GREAT location, and is a mere 2 minute walk from the beach and a lot of great restaurants and bars. But if you're looking for good service, then maybe try somewhere else. There were a few distinct instances where there service was so far inferior it left a bad taste in my mouth. For example, as soon as we checked in, we were told we would have to pay for a New Year's Eve party that I was unaware of. I admit it was mentioned in the cancellation policy but, I like so many others do not thoroughly read the cancellation policy. I think it should have been instead more explicit during booking, as it came out to $300 USD total (and did NOT include alcohol) and we had pre-paid for the room and did not want to cancel. We were then pressured to pre-purchase alcohol and I was still trying to recover from the journey to Phuket. Another instance was when we booked an excursion through the hotel's sister travel agent company in the hotel lobby. We were waiting for our hotel pick-up and the van was nearly 30 minutes late (which unbeknownst to us is standard in Thailand), we asked the front desk to call the company and verify our reservation. The communication barrier must have prevented her from understanding us well, but she proceeded to charge us 10baht for the call. Though that equates to a mere $0.33USD, it was the principle that they refused to help us out in a time of need that bothered me. Other than that, our stay was wonderful and would consider staying at this hotel again, AFTER thoroughly reading the cancellation policy.

Nice hotel, very convenient to the beach, lots of various food & massage places. Only complaint is too much mozzies. Anyway we ha a great time there. Strongly recommended.

The hotel is built on the side of a hill.I had to take two elevators and hike up a few flights of stairs to get to my room, but the view of Kata beach from the balcony was spectacular. The room is nothing special but it is clean and the hot water is hot and the AC works... I also liked the location, across the street from the beach and near many little restaurants and shops. I went with my family and had a great time. Two thumbs up.

Away from busy and dirty Patong, Kata is the ultimate destination: clean, restaurants very good quality and price, just nice (Karon is very nice too). This hotel is on the slope so you will have a nice view away from the street, two nice pools. Just on thing, make sure you get the highest quality of room otherwise the staff will inform you that your room will have no window and balcony....not sure if that's a trick but will make you feel very uncomfortable....

I found the staff very pleasant, accomodating and helpful. The restaurant was always trying to be innovative with new with entertaining ideas. I was lucky to be here for the Loy Krathong festival. The restaurant put on a fabulous Thai banquet with International cuisine... and had the staff performing traditional Thai singing and festival celebrations such as floating of the Krathong. This will always hold special memories and the photos opportunities were amazing. For those of us who speak English & have special dietary requirements such as being vegetarian; I really appreciated Dhaliwal who was always a moment away with his English Interpretaion and clever problem solving and brilliant customer service.

Hotel very clean,comfortable,very good service,very nice food and friendly.

The Tropical Garden had some pretty big shoes to fill having just come from an ultra modern hotel just up the street. The good; great location, as it was close to everything in Kata, and real close to some great restaurants. The buffet breakfast was also really good, nice mix of western food with some Thai food and a great egg station as well. Very friendly and helpful staff who always greeted us with smiles and wanted to chat a bit. Pool is also nice. It's a good size, right temp (not too hot/cold), and enough loungers to sit at in case you want a break from the beach. Not so good; were greeted by cockroaches in the bathroom on a couple of occasions, and a gecko on the wall. I understand that it is Thailand and there are these lizards and insects here, but didn't have this problem at any other places we stayed (BKK, Phuket, Phi Phi, Lanta). Swift swat with a sandel took care of that. Thankfully I saw them before my wife!!! Hotel is a little dated, could use a face lift, but like I mentioned earlier, we had just spent a week in ultra moderness, so we just said to ourselves it was more rustic. All in all, good stay, but for the same money, would choose something different next time.

Breakfast limited choices. Not enough seating so we had to wait for a seat several times. They say breakfast is served from 06:30. If you have arranged a tour most operators will pick you up at 07:00. They start putting breakfast out at about 06:30 so many items are not available when you want breakfast. Very few loungers at the pools. About 40 at the activity/childs pool and only about 14 at deep/adults pool. There was a swim up bar at the deep pool but it was never staffed. If you wanted a drink you either brought it from your room or walked over to the other pool and got one. All had towels on them by 07:00 in the morning. Hotel is Not suitable if you have any mobility problems as lots of stairs. Rooms seemed small and were very dated old style TV. No flat screen TV. Furniture on balcony was weathered down to the bare wood as were many of the loungers if you could find one. Hallways, elevators, floors and railings all in need of cleaning and painting. The floors in the hallways could do with a good power wash as they are filthy. Lots of Russians at the Hotel. Menus and signs are in russian. Location is OK. You have to walk a block past stores to get to the beach. Lots of good restaurants near the Hotel. We stayed here in March so I assume that is high season as the loungers were all taken on the beach many times and there are about 1000 of them in 3 rows side by side. Too close for our liking. I would not recommend this Hotel to anyone.

This hotel was pretty nice, we only wish that our room had had a window, instead we had an out door shower, because of this there were tons of mosquitoes in the room. Otherwise the room was nice and close to the beach, the pool is also nice with its swim up bar.

dejligt hyggeligt hotel, rengøringen er fin, dejlig morgen buffet, venligt og imødekommende personale. Det eneste men, som på alle hoteller i Thailand, hvor er det bare synd, at de ikke vedligeholder både inde og ude.

Underbar utsikt. Perfekt läge, nära strand, butiker och restauranger. Önskemål att personalen kunde bättre engelska.

Vi hadde totalt sett et fint opphold på tre uker over jul og nyttår. Vårt rom var et deluxe rom med havutsikt som vi var fornøyd med. All ansatte var stort sett smilende og hjelpsomme, men det var litt vanskelig å gjøre seg forstått enkelte ganger. Videre hadde de et krav om at vi måtte delta på middag på jul- og nyttårsaften eller iallefall betale for det til en veldig høy tilleggspris - noe de ikke ville fravike. Det var veldig skuffende fordi vi hadde allerede booket julemiddag et annet sted som vi måtte avbestille. Festen på julaften var ok, men maten var en buffet hvor maten som skulle vært varm var kald eller lunken, scampi som var kokt tydeligvis helt uten salt. Jeg endte opp med å bare spise røkelaks... Nyttårsaften booket vi et bord et annet sted, selv om vi måtte dekke nyttårsmiddagen på dette hotellet.

位置很好，去海滩很方便

Оставил только положительные впечатления. Симпатичный отель, построен в тайском стиле, рядом с пляжем (5 мин пешком). Номер просторный, с балконом и видом на море.Отель не новый, но ничего критичного не было: все работало, везде чисто. Хорошие завтраки, приветливый персонал. Соотношение цена-качество для отеля 3 звезды идеально.

Остались очень довольны.

O hotel Tropical Garden Resort eh bom, apesar de um pouco mal conservado e da dificuldade de acessar os quartos mais altos. A localização eh excelente, uma das melhores de Phuket e, sem duvida alguma a melhor de Kata Bech, no melhor canto da praia e onde ficam os melhores restaurantes.

Le personnel est sympa le service taxi super sympa. Les chambres sont confortable avec balcon la piscine est vraiment superbe et l'accès à la plage tres facile. L'environnement est super pour une famIlle.

Stedet luket nygg. Enda jeg skiftet rom. Service helt forferdelig. Personal ruller øynene til kunder. Lite behjelpelig.

Vi bestilte dette hotellet i noe hast uten å lese så mye om det. Vi var veldig fornøyde med beliggenheten og utsikten fra rommet over til kata beach. Sengen var utrolig hard og en liten skurrete tv. Ellers var dette hotellet ok. Mange trapper og bygg, så man ble noe forvirret. Jeg tror ikke vi skal bo på dette hotellet neste gang, men det var hyggelig og helt ok.

Centralt och bra läge, trevlig personal. GUDOMLIGA sängar och mkt fräscht rum. Skulle gärna på här igen.

Hotellets værelser er ok. Desværre har man ikke fældet træerne efterhånden som de er goet op, så udsigten bliver væsentligt forringet. Læører man omgivelserne at kende, så er der kun 200 m til KATA beach. Restaurangen man går igennem har god mad til billige penge. Dejligt at sidde ved vandkanten og spise. Foran restaurangen, begynder stranden. Her er der mange mennesker. Går man de 2 km langs stranden til modsat side, og holder øje med det danske flag, så er der helt stille her. Godt for børn og ældre. Gå turen er dejlig. Man kan også gå over bjerget 10 min, så gå 100 trin ned til Kata nøje stranden. Denne er også god. Masage pigerne er 100 m fra hotellet. 300 bat for en time olie masage. Start ferien med en time fod masage, så er du i himlen.

Rommet var stort og rent. Men syns servicen var veldig skiftende alt etter hvem som var på jobb. Noen var kjempe serviceinnstillt, mens andre overhode ikke. Frokosten var helt ok, men savnet juice uten sukker, godt brød og ost. Internett var like dyrt som å leie det i Norge. Det samme gjalt å spise på hotellet. Bildene av hotellet var mye finere enn realiteten. Sum av summarium et helt gjennomsnittlig ok hotell.

Hotellet er af ældre dato, stort og noget slidt. I morgenmadsrestauranten er der vilde fugle der klatter på morgenmordet og tager af ens tallerken hvis man ikke lige er over det, samtidig er der 4-5 katter der går omkring,ikke særligt appetitligt og slet ikke hyggeligt. Søde piger der sørger for værelser og receptionen yder fin service. Hotellet liggert med dejlig udsigt og i sunamisikret område. der er massere af gode spisesteder og shoppingmuligheder tæt på. Stranden og vandet er meget fint. Hotellet er på kanten til at være for stort og upersonligt, men sikket hvad man kan forvente af et 3 stjernet hotel.
