Our room was very clean and stylish. I loved the view from our room and it was so close to everything we came to DC to see!

Stayed with young family, enjoyed the pool, breakfast and comfortable room. To far to walk with kids to DC attractions, able to catch bus/taxi with no problems.

Only negative thing ! Parking was $ 34 in addition to room rate ! Thought parking should have been included :-(

The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was great. We would stay there if we came back to Washington, DC.

We took a short trip to see the nation's capital! I was with my adult son and my 5 year old grandson. The people there were very helpful at all times. The breakfast provided by the hotel each morning was excellent! Saved lots of meal money with it. I would def go back! A drawback, if seeing the sights in DC, is if traveling with small children, you need to get taxis (which are readily available and hailed for you by the hotel conceirge) because little ones can't walk distances necessary. If only with adults or older children you are fine.

This hotel is in a great location for Verizon Center events and the staff couldn't be more pleasant and helpful. The only flaw is that when the hotel is full there are not enough elevators. We, and many guests, gave up and just used the stairs during out four day stay. That isn't so bad when you are on a lower floor, but it can be a killer when you are on an upper floor! To be safe, be sure to request a room on the 3rd floor. Avoid the 2nd floor as it has the pool and workout room.

Stayed here before the Rock and Roll Marathon 2013. It's within walking distance to the capitol mall, and the hotel staff was kind enough to hold onto our bags in the morning until we got back from the race, since checkout time was before our return. Parking is vallet only (and isn't cheap), but we took the metro in since it's very close, and the metro has free parking on weekends. The hotel surroundings are closer to a worse looking part of DC, but the area still felt safe enough to walk through at night. A few streets over though is a different story.

Loved the hotel. The staff and service were great.

Hotel was awesome, but there is a lot of construction going on in the neighborhood so things can get a little noisy/hectic at times. Overall, I will happily return to this hotel!

breakfast was ok. it had a large selection and they changed it up the two days we stayed. my only complaint was the mandatory valet parking that cost $34 plus $6 tax each night. the staff was friendly and the hotel was clean. the whirl pool was nice but the pool didnt feel heated.

Room was adequate, bathroom had an initial smell, but it subsided after the first flush. Pillows could have been a little more comfortable. Standard size pillows on a king size bed. Overall the stay was okay.

Usually not impressed by Hampton's breakfast. This one's was better than usual. Clean room, great location for Cap's game. Good value for the area.

Walked here from Union Station and then walked to the Mall and other tourist sights and museums. Friendly staff on the front desk and a great breakfast. A very competent hotel.

Convient to get around. Close to several great eateries. One block from metro station. Great expierence, staff was great. included breakfast was always well maintained with plenty of selections. I would stay there again if I were going to Washington.

The hotel was friendly, quiet, and very clean. we will stay again next time we visit.

Can't say I appreciated powdered eggs for breakfast, but there were other options, so most folks would find something acceptable. Would have liked more television station options. Fox but not MSNBC? Really?

Had a wonderful stay at Hampton Inn! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Go see Jeffrey at the hotel bar...he is amazing!!!

It was all I hoped it would be. Great price, service and location. Very short walk to Verizon Center for Caps game. Good breakfast.

Clean, modern looking room (2 queen beds (though they looked a little smaller). Staff was friendly and knowledgable. Ice maker wasn't working on the floor we were on (just took a walk to the other floor). 3 computers in the business center sharing 1 laserprinter (room key needed to enter room). It's 2 blocks from the convention center (our room had a view of the Washington Monument in the distance). Booked based on the price of the room (note Parking is an additional $34 per night (valet only) and with tax that came to $40.12). Parking is secure in basement behind a security gate (peace of mind). Room we had was stocked wtih usual shampoo, conditioner, mouthwash, shoe mitt, refrigerator, microwave oven, hair dryer and a bare bones (one cup at a time) coffee maker (I just used it to heat up water).

Located only a short walk from centre of Washington this hotel was comfortable and clean with very helpful and friendly staff. Good value hotel locted in the perfect spot to explore Washington.

This hotel is in a good location within walking distance of the Verizon Center. The hotel is kept very clean. Also, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay, but we do have a couple of complaints. The first is the cost of parking. There is only valet parking available at the hotel. The sign says it costs $34, however there's an additional $6 tax per day that was not mentioned on the sign. The other complaint is that the TV had bad reception on the station that we wanted to watch. We were told we could watch the TV downstairs in the lobby, but otherwise we were not compensated for the incovenience of not being able to watch the game in our room.

The hotel was clean and the staff were all very helpful with questions I had. I am from the area but had not been there in 15 years so much had changed. The breakfast bar was great to start the day and not have to worry about where to eat in the morning.

The hotel had a perfect location, close to everything! We had two rooms, one of them wasn't clean, we find some used ear cleaner stick, the toilet paper was almost empty etc... The breakfast was busy, the hot eggs was bad... the bell staff looked out from inside, and they tried to help us right after, when we finished unloading our car...

For the price, the hotel is highly recommended based on its location. Free breakfast is a huge plus and the staff were friendly. Walking distance to Chinatown and 7th Street where many restaurants are located. Walking distance to Verizon Center which we were not aware so please checkout the events before your visit. We decided to drive to the museums considering all the walking to be done there, however, you can walk to them if you desire. The area seems very safe with many residential apartments.

Very nice hotel, great staff and helpful.

This hotel is in an excellent location, an easy walking distance from the Gallery Place/Chinatown Metro stop. The Verizon Center is close and many Smithsonian museums are relatively close. The hotel has a pool/workout area, and a very good breakfast buffet--with different "main" courses daily. All of the above give an excellent family hotel overall experience. I would recommend earplugs if you are a sound sleeper, though the area is safe enough, the main Capitol D.C. Police station is closeby and pretty "active" during the night.

If your not trying to spend an "arm and a leg" on downtown D.C. hotels, I highly recommend the Hampton Inn Washington Downtown-Convention Center. The overall experience was great. I recommend getting the parking package which should also come w complimentary breakfast. Parking is not convenient, so if your not trying to drive around in circles, especially if your married or have kids I recommend the parking package (you get the hotel valet service). Breakfast was a decent selection: various breads to toast, waffel maker, juice bar, yogurt, pastries, hard boiled eggs, and other various breakfast selections. The pool is good for kids, it is only about 4' deep and there is a hot tub. Room was good enough for a short 2.5 day stay. The hotel location is no more than 5 minutes driving to the Smithsonian exhibits. You are within 5 minutes walking to the Verizon Center (for basketball fans) and also to Chinatown. Food selection and great restaurants was not an issue. This was a fun stay.

Very good hotel. I was satisfied with everything, room and service were excellent and there was nothing I could complain about. Parking was not included and it costed 34 dollars per night but I knew it wasn't included so there was really no problem. It was a little bit expensive. It considered the hotel I guess it is a fair price. Breakfast was pretty delicious, and there was a lot of food and when it was over, it was replaced with more food. I really enjoyed my stay in Washington and I strongly suggest this hotel, even though it is a little far from the White House but it is really not a big deal, as it probably takes you 15 minutes walking and the hotel is worth staying.

Only stayed for a night, but was provided with quality service. Accommodating staff, great free breakfast provided, and central location.

I thought the staff in the hotel was very helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Good value for the price that we paid. We did however run into a serious problem withe heat pump on our second evening there that robbed us of a sleep. We notfied from desk staff of our diffcculty and were cordially promised compensation for the lost night, but did not receive any such compensation.
