Banana Bay Resort and Marina - קי ווסט

The hotel was very clean and the room was very sufficient for what we needed. The best part about our room was the balcony that overlooked the pool and marina. We were pleased overall but the only disadvantage about the resort was the location. If we were to return to key west we would definitely look into a hotel that was closer to duval street.

Very decent rooms for the price. Very nice staff. Close location to Duval st. Clean rooms and resort. Beautiful sitting area by the bay w lawn chairs, rocking chairs, and hammocks. Overall very satisfied and will return!

Hotel has nice quiet location on bay but you could be anywhere...not in old town...need car to go anywhere....Major 2 year road construction out front cuts you off from everything...were not working directly in front and we were there on the weekend so noice was not bad but beautiful location, NO TIKI BAR in operation and staff laughed when we asked about it, Staff is very friendly and helpful, room furnishings, carpet, bedding newer and comfortable, pool furniture,outside furniture on balcony dated, bathroom vanity, doors are old & not replaced in overall and beatup, a lot of rust on light fixtures and anything metal. Breakfast was nice and 3 hours with plenty of waffles, pastries, juice and coffee. Internet service does not work without a password despite front desk staff saying no password required and on last day another staff person informed us when she saw us struggling with trying to get on. Very nice and quiet with own beach on bay (no swimming in bay) but no children under 16 so peaceful.

Overall, we were very pleased with the hotel, our room and the furnishings. Bathroom could use some updating but room was very large and clean. Nice bar/kitchen area with refrig, microwave, sink and coffee maker. Office personnel very pleasant and helpful. Trolley pickup just across the street. Would definitely stay here again.

The street in front of the hotel was under construction. We passed the entrance. The hotel is no where near Mallory Square or Duval Street. The pictures on the website do not look anything like the hotel. I was not satisfied the least bit and would not recommend to anyone.

Nice cute little hotel. Room was a good size. The canopy bed really nice touch although very squeaky. Nice pool and landscaping. Very relaxing. Wouldn't really say it has a beach or anything but still nice. The tiki bar was nice to see by not open during our stay. We didn't see any naked people which was nice. Lol

HOTEL FOR THE MOST PART WAS GREAT... ROOM CABINETS IN NEED OF UPDATE BUT OTHERWISE HAD A GREAT TIME... WOULD STAY AGAIN AND HAVE RECOMMENDED TO FRIENDS ALREADY...

The hotel and room were great - comfortable, quiet, clean, nice balcony overlooking the pool, comfortable bed, nice places to sit by the water. The only downsides were the distance from town - and the construction out in front was a bit of a hassle. Once we figured out where to park in town ( the lot behind city hall was cheap and convenient and the one over by the pier activity also) everything went pretty smoothly.

AS MENTIONED WITH JUST A LITTLE TLC THIS COULD BE A REAL WINNER! THEY HAD ADVERTISED A TIKI BAR IT WAS INOPERABLE,THEY MENTIONED A BEACH BUT IT IS NOT A BEACH WHERE YOU CAN SWIM! OVERALL THE STAFF WAS COURTEOUS AND PLACE WAS CLEAN BUT A LITTLE MORE EFFORT IS NEEDED TO MAKE THIS A FOUR STAR . THE CONSTRUCTION OUT FRONT OF THE HOTEL IS SHEDDING A VERY BAD LIGHT WHEN YOU DRIVE UP NOT THE RESORTS FAULT OVERALL VERY NICE

Place needs updated..no tiki bar..no wifi in rooms or pool area morning breakfest needs help ..this place is for iternational people ..for what you pay fore ..you can get better

Room was awful, wallpaper peeling, shower was awful, hot water would get extremely hot every 10 seconds... Just a poor experience...

We stayed here in Jan 2013. Getting to the hotel was a bit of a pain due to the construction, but that is not the hotel's fault. There isn't much in the surrounding area and a Cab to downtown can be pricy. We ended driving and paying metered parking. Worked out cheaper. The hotel itself is dated and in need of reno. The room was reasonably clean, but you can tell it has had its share of wear and tear. Washroom was tired and old. Furniture and carpet was old and stained. Nevertheless we weren't in the room much so like the title says.. good for passing through but I wouldn't stay here for more than that. Note the beach isn't really a beach. You can't actually go into the water. It is just a bit of sand (not even enough to play in). Breakfast was just some coffee, bagels and danishes, nothing special. The front desk person was helpful with what to do downtown.

This hotel...if you can call it that, was horrible. The rooms (we tried to change rooms) had an overwhelming 'Pinesol'/Urine smell. The bed was from the Bates Motel of the 50/60s. Zero comfort. Spend some money and clean up the rooms and change the beds. The furniture was stained and dirty. Hotel staff were incredulous of our concers. We were a bother to them when we asked to have a look at another room which, was worse than the first. Loved Key West but, this hotel, although on the water, was horrible. And the price was atrocious.

Our room was not very comfortable and needed some fixing. The light and shower were broken. The light switches didn't work. We paid for a room with a king bed, but only got one with a double, maybe a full, I don't know, but it was very small. The room could use a remodel, as it seemed run down.

The suit is clean and comfort, the marina is very beautiful for viewing the sunrise. However, the air condition is noise and the bathwater isn't big enough for us. The price is a little high.

Room was nice, but no wi-fi in room and when taking a shower water went from cold to hot the whole time.

We only had a problem with a college party that went on next door till 1:00 am. The room was otherwise very comfortable.

Pros: We found it to be clean and pleasant. Nice pool area and sandy area on the channel. 40 minute nice walk, 15 minute nice bike ride to Duvall. Cons: We were promised a water front view with a balcony or patio. We got an inside corner room with a view of a canal if you were sitting on the patio. Also, carpet in room is very worn and frayed around the door. A little TLC wouldn't hurt. Overall a good choice, price was right.

Bathroom had a constant smell of urine,They were never able to find the source. shower did not have a consistent water temperature, hot to cold to hot to cold, all the time without touching the water taps. Pool open all night, other guests screaming and carring on at 3 am, hotel did nothing about this.

Wonderful, but expensive.

Beautiful hotel. Lovely room. Pool and lounge area great. would stay here again.

Construction in front of the building. As for the roomstay the bedroom there were two windows together and each window had a different set of blinds. Both of the night tables we beat up and the tops were nicked up. In the front room the two lamps were the same style but different lamp shades. In the kitchen area the freezer door was rusted at the bottom. The photos are very misleading. There is a little beach area and that is a nice asset as well as the complimentary breakfast in the morning. However for what I paid this was way over priced. Would I stay there again NO.

Enjoyed the stay. Room was very attractive. Not new looking but pretty well kept. Hotel grounds area was nice, and particularly liked the outdoor patio with tables and chairs beside the breakfast room where you could eat and enjoy the view.

the banana bay resort was better then I expected... I would stay there again. even though it is close to a busy road, it is tucked far enough back that it seems secluded from the business that's actually happening. front desk women was wonderful, she was able to change mine and boyfriends room closer to our friends. quite at night, no trouble sleeping. pool area was very nice...rooms were comfortable... we spent most of our time out and about, so the banana bay suited us well for our intentions, good price and decent lodging.

the hotel is much older than I expected the rooms were clean but the bathroom was old. overall it was okay but it I wouldn't call it a resort

The room was lovely and comfortable. The bamboo king size canopy bed was a very nice touch. We had a very nice water view. The downside was the road construction that made it more difficult to get around, but I can't blame hotel for that.

This is a hotel, not a resort, but for Key West it represents a pretty decent value. The lot is a little crowded, and the furnishings are getting a little older, but it's clean, and the price is decent. Would stay again.

I guess the old saying ' You get what you paid for" applies to this hotel. The place really gave me the creeps. The room was a good size and it overlooked the pool and water, which was great. It is in old shape , the mattress and box spring were disgusting. The wallpaper was peeling off the wall in the bathroom, and the room smelled like cigarettes. I didn't complain because the price was low, and really didn't have any place else to go. The pool area and the sand appeared to be in decent shape. The breakfast that was offered had a large selection. We couldn't get the tv to work and someone was up in 5 minutes. So I guess I am just used to a nicer hotel. I also wasn't aware that it was an adults only hotel, which is fine with me, except there was a sign when you leave the pool area and go to the beach area, "clothing must be worn" that made me a little nervous, haha

great place ,close to all key west has to offer.cant wait to come back again

My husband and I got there and the room was nice, clean, worth coming back again, construction on the roads sucks but other than that...everything was fine.

Rooms great, pool clean and refreshing, beach raked and awesome, construction didn't bother us BUT ....... Why is there a bright light on the building right outside our room window? It was so bright that it was as if we had a night light ( 100w) left on all night, when I called the desk she said it couldn't be helped ! Also the tv had to be turned on and off by the button on the set, not the remote, I'm lazy and want to have a sleep button on the remote :)

I love the room, the view and best of all the canopy king size bed. It was a very pleasant stay.

I don't pretend to make a two star hotel to be three or four but having to wait two hours for room to be ready and pay full price (179 plus taxes) when surrounding area is under construction is, at least, questionable.

Nice place to stay; appreciate it being pet-friendly. A little taken aback by the clothing optional pool; was not aware of that beforehand, but no big deal. Good continental breakfast choices.

We stayed here 1 night. Price was good for the area. Nice location and clean. The room we had did need some cosmetic work...upgrading. The balcony overlooked pool area and it was reallly nice. The staff was really nice and helpful. We would stay here again.

after reading several good reviews I decided to book this hotel and am glad we did. first it is an adult over 16 hotel which we didn't know, it was out of the hustle and bustle of downtown key west but not too far yet it was peaceful and quiet. for the price it was well worth the money

I am sorry to say I would not recommend your motel. The room had a damp wet smell, wallpaper was was coming off the bathroom walls and the TV was broken. The "breakfast" room was also damp and had a bad smell. The young lady that checked us in did not offer any suggestions on how to get to the more active part of town or if there was anyplace worth seeing right around the motel. When I made my reservations I was not told the outside bar would not be open. With a lot of hard work it could be a nice place.

The Banana Bay was reasonably well maintained, but it is definitely out of date. The paint, tile and furniture are all clearly quite old. I appreciate that it is fairly well maintained, but be forewarned - don't expect anything new, and certainly don't expect a flat screen TV (though you are in Key West, why watch TV?). The pool area is nice, although the tiki bar was not open at all the week we were there.

It was great,the waterview of the gulf had a calming effect.

They don't lie when they say its on the water, but it is deceiving. The man made beach in the shade leading up to the breakwall is basically useless. Unless you are allergic to the sun. The location is good if you don't mind a five minute ride to Duvall Street. The shower temperatures are not consistent so you may find yourself frequently surprised at the sudden chill or scalding of the water when your neighboring room decides to flush their toilet or wash their hands. The continental breakfast is always fresh and well stocked. This is a great place to stay for the money, if your intention on your trip is to be downtown or at the beach.
