Beautiful hotel and room

To start off with we thought the hotel looked very nice on line, so we booked it. Once we got there the hotel was under renovations. We were told be local workers at the resturants outside the place is always under " renovations", then a laugh. The lobby was disgusting and thank god the elevator serice inspectors were leaving when we came, it was a little squeaky. Once we got to our floor the maid carts were blocking our room and we also had a nice view of all of the OSHA regulations and the maids schedules or paper work on the wall out in the open next to our room. Once we got insde our room i thought it looked nice, but upon further inspection, not so much. The utilty room door inside the room was broken and fell on me. Then when trying to turn on the lights we find out there are none. The main light of the room is a studio set light which was aimed at the bed. ( The whole set up of the room was creepy.) (Not to mention in between each hotel room there was a room that said "Private". When i asked what was in there the guy said," a safe". Really a safe? who tells someone that? Between every room? More like creepy peepers..) The bathroom wasn't cleaned , we took a quick shower with our shoes on. The phone was broken and there was no alarm clock. I was just over all disappointed with the filthy feeling. Even the windows that go out to the 2ft wide balcony... filthy. Worst hotel ever..... By the way don't try to call them they don't awnser the phone.

Large spacious suites ...Keep in mind you are staying on maimi beach..that alone should make you feel privileged as you relax from your balcony..Trouble free ,looking at everyone below. The pool on the roof is awesome and so is the view. Trust me this place rocks..we will be back even if its just for a night. Walk across the street your at the beach . Walk out the door you on ocean drive at the beginning of where everything starts.Clubs,The food..omg the food..wonderful..and for those of you smokers the staff doesn't care just smoke on the balcony or where in south beach because they treat it like its legal and its there ...thanks for wonderful trip

Roomy, that's all there is, albeit dusty. All our windows blocked my wall of nxt bldg. Shower curtain filthy with mildew. Pot & pan provided but no stove, only microwave. Elevator mostly OOS, so we had to walk. One daytime guy not so friendly.

Very nice and clean rooms, but need to make things clearer since the name written on the facade of the hotel is "the fritz". Lobby area is very shabby and the music from the bars below the hotel si very loud until verylate. Other than that it is very good value.

Had an excellent time. Wonderful location. Amazing rooftop view. Loved it

It was very comfortable and relaxing,. I just had one issue when checking out and ran back to retrieve more personal items since I could not carry everything in one trip and housekeeping already in room and items were disposed of, so that was upsetting.

Great location but hard to find the front entrance; be prepared. Beautiful suite that came with everything but bathrobes and newspaper which were advertised when booked. Front desk was pleasantly manned but this is not your typical hotel with a front desk, so quality of service was very minimal. Perfect for what we were looking for. Had a balcony right on Ocean Drive which was pretty entertaining,

No one told us the lobby was closed for renovations. We had to go through the basement.

We stayed here for a conference and I loved having the kitchen was very updated.. TV and cable was great. Internet was slow. I found the hotel to be a bit run down. Location was fantastic. But a pet peeve of mine since it was cold the week we stayed in February is I couldn't even get a hot shower. It was very luke warm and I would have been able to overlook the other things but 6 days and unable to take a nice shower was disappointing. Would probably pick a different place to stay next time.

we have always wanted to spend time om south beach and this was our chance this hotel was THE PLACE it was in the middle of it all to bad it was under going renovations the roof top was a surprise what a view the staff were informative and friendly definitely going back

Great location and loved the set up of the room with the separate bedroom and living room area. Also loved the kitchenette. Only issues were hotel in need of a few updates and matress very loud. But overall beautiful suite and ideal location

Hotel location is great, but live music played until 1AM in the club next door keeping us awake. Room was clean and service was good. The sleeper sofa wasn't comfortable. Rennovation work was underway in Lower lobby and other floors.

My wife and I spent two nights at the Casanova. We were upgraded from a king suite to a two room suite. The room was huge (1100 sq ft) with a nice view of lummis park and the ocean. Nice kitchen with stainless appliances although the fridge freezer needs some attention. The location on south beach is great (between 5th and 6th) right next to all the action but not in the middle of it. These rooms have private balcony's over looking ocean drive which is not common of most hotels on this strip. The price we got on Hotels.com could not be beat. The only real negative would be that the hotel is under remodeling, they are putting in a spa next to the lobby, but no noise ever made it up to our rooms. The hotel entrance is not visable from the street, Bellini resteraunt is located out front and you walk down a short (clean well lit) walkway to the lobby located on the side of the building. The Mattress was comfortable (never used guest bed but having a second bathroom was a great perk) but they starch their sheets for some reason. With the size of the rooms it was strange not have a dresser in either bedroom. the nightstands have deep drawers and there is alot of closet space even a walk in closet but would have liked more drawer space. Overall this was a great experience and If we visit South Beach again we will be staying at the Casanova

This hotel is perfect. Great location across the street from Lummus Park. Kitchen had coffee maker, full size frig, microwave, new cupboards. Spacious hotel room!! A small but cute roof-top pool and patio. One bedroom with queen size bed and a double size futon in the living room.TGIF restaurant is next door. A Walgreens around the corner saved us soooo much money. Bought all of our goodies, breakfast supplies and some beer for the room. All the good outweighed a few dislikes... Told us there was a $50 a day additional fee for having 3 guests in the room instead of the booked 2 guests (that fee was waived at check-out). The hairdryer malfunctioned. We bought a new one at the drugstore and was reimbursed from the hotel. The balcony consists of sliding doors and a 12" stoop not big enough to walk across. The door to the bathroom was in desperate need of a coat of paint. All in all, I would definately stay here again. I didn't expect much from Casanova after reading some reviews. I went into this knowing this hotel was not the Four Seasons- no luxurious frills. I came out more than happy with my stay!

If you can find it and then look past the awful lobby the room is great - like a one-bedroom apartment. The rooftop pool overlooking the ocean was very nice.

Hotel rooms very nice situated right in the middle of south beach .only problem was no parking ,but that's the same in every hotel in southbeach

Me and my boyfriend loved to stay at this hotel. Great location, room was spacious and staff was kind and helpfult. The only thing was that our room had no kitchenette - which it was supposed to have as hotels.com described it. But overall it was a very nice experience. I will definitely stay here in the future.

This place is tucked away down an alley and has no signs from the street. Once you find it and get past the lobby, the room was awesome with hardwood floors throughout and artfully decorated. The rooftop pool and view was impressive. The location is right in the middle of South Beach madness (a big plus if that is what you are looking for). Outside noise could be heard throughout the night, again to be expected for the location. Lobby was seedy but not a big deal. I would definitely go back.

I will admit the entrance is hard to find while it is still under construction but once I got to my room I truly appreciated the suite and all the comforts it had to offer. It was quiet despite being in a busy part of Collins. Overall I would recommend Casanova Suites and will plan on staying there again in the near future.

Great location! The suite has plenty of space. I would be open to staying here again.

Great location, great value, huge rooms, what else can you ask for? We'll definitely be back!

My wife and I have stayed @ numerous hotels in South Beach over the course of annual visits the past 15 years. Hotels in the prime location of SoBe are typically small, old and overpriced. Casanova suites were spacious, updated and for the location, one of the best values, bar none. Factor in a kitchen, where a few bucks can be saved by not eating every meal out, and this becomes a no brainer.

Went to south beach with about seven friends for spring break and was fortunate enough to get a reservation at this hotel. The suites are spacious, clean, reasonable, and overall amazing for South Beach. It was located right on Ocean Drive, which is where everything is at (wet willies, mangos, etc.) The pool and roof area were remarkable and the ocean view from our suite was just breathtaking. The staff was great and helped with everything. They allowed us to keep our luggage at the hotel before check in and after check out so that we wouldn't have to lug around suitcases until we had to board our late flight. I called in advance to inquiry about an extra persons fee and management really cared and accommodated the situation. The weekend manager also recommended some places to visit both in Miami and Fort Lauderdale, which was extremely helpful. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone planning to going to South Beach. Currently in the works of planning Miami round 2 at the Casanova Suites. =)

Definitely recommend this hotel. I was worried at first because I nearly missed the tiny ramp walkway you have to go down to get to the hotel lobby, & then the lobby & elevator were in serious need of cleaning/decorating/upkeep BUT once I got to my room I was pleasantly surprised... I had a standard suite & it was plenty roomy with a huge closet & open kitchen/living area. Clean, bright, a pleasure to stay in. I would stay there again for sure.

There was a USED CONDOM under our mattress. We arrived LATE saturday night (1am) so sunday we did not request room service because it was 'clean' from the day before. So, when we woke up monday morning, the mattress I guess had moved a little. I woke up to a used condom in between the sheets. It was disgusting and the maid tried to put the blame on us because we did not request room service. but again, we did not request it because we did not make a mess due to our late arrival. Other than that, everything was fine.

Took my wife here for my return to Miami after 20+ years away. The hotel is very clean even though they are in the middle of construction. The elevator was being upgraded during our stay causing us to have to lug our belongings up and down the stairs; thus the lower maintenance score. Aside from that we really enjoyed the large apartment-like room. Even a nice kitchen and living area. Most Miami Beach hotels are historic but run-down. This one is clean, historic looking and in a great location in the middle of high-energy South Beach. If you don't want the hustle bustle, this is not your place. Bu If you do, it's perfect. Close to the action but not close to a loud club that would keep you awake like other South Beach hotels.

If you do not have a sea view room (my 404 room isn't)) distance from the other building by about 1 meter (I gasped for air). Very noisy in the early morning. Wifi signal virtually nonexistent. It can only be recommended for holiday travelers not for business.

Great value, located directly across from the beach and on top of several nice restaurants. Room and service was truly terrific. But had I not already had a reservation, the access, ramp, lobby and side room would have made shop elsewhere

Stayed ther 4 days in February. Good location, a bit noisy sorroundings, restoraunts all around and a club on first floor, greate for night public. Beach is just accrose the street. Not all rooms have view, some are just opposite to the next hotel, only few meters apart, so you have to close the window for privacy. Olso no visitor parking, so you have in one of the garges, pretty expencive. Room are clean, very big and have a fully equiped kitchen. Overall nice basic hotel with central location.

Great Location, Good Comfortable accomadations and friendly staff. Thanks to this hotel my Girlfriend told me she loves me.

A roomy suite placed on ocean drive. Good standard with kitchen and dishwasher. Pool on the roof over looking ocean drive. .

A minute-walk to the beach. Excellent location! Can be a bit noisy with music blaring from the nearby bars and restaurants at night. But the music stops around midnight.

We were overall very satisfied with the hotel. It isn't a very big hotel, with the entrance being a cozy walkway through two restaurants. Once you get into your room however, you will be pleasantly surprised at the quality of the finishing, the beds, and the decoration. The man at the hotel lobby is always a pleasant and helpful person, and a special shout-out goes to Carlos. He was very forthcoming with the information and help which made our entire experience at South Beach Miami all the more pleasant. The only criticism is that there were still construction works going on, and the elevator isn't in the best conditions, with the elevator button lights working only occasionally. Yet, if one can close their eyes to these superficial inconveniences, everything else was great - the hotel stay was a pleasant and most comfortable one, the location was fantastic with you a stone's throw away from South Beach, and a row of conveniently located and happening restaurants.

I frequent miami beach several times per year, and this hotel is perfect for everyone, from family to partying trips. walk to everything and the staff is very helpful and considerate. If you want to get sleep during the nights don't get ocean front common-sense miami doesn't sleep.

The hotel appears to be converted apartments, so the space was awesome because we had our 4 children with us. It must have been 1000 sq. ft. with two full baths. The location was a mixed blessing...you look out your window and you are on Ocean Drive in the heart of South Beach, and the Atlantic Ocean greets you...down stairs are the restaurants and bars...awesome....unless you have younger kids and dont want to expose them to the "younger crowd" that hangs out on Ocean Dr. And the noise from the music and chatter will keep you awake. Also, there is no pool which was a disappointment... I would say if two couples wanted to spend some time in SoBe...this is THE hotel to go to..but a family with kids...unless you MUST be right in the thick of it...I suggest going up the road to a more traditional type hotel resort. I would not take my kids there again, but I would stay there with wife and another couple.
