Eridanus Art Luxury Hotel - אתונה

The Eridanus hotel is 5 minute walk from Kerameikos metro station through the rough area, graffiti covered abandoned buildings. Surrounding area is not very pretty, but it did not feel unsafe to walk. The hotel is not the 5* you would normally expect in the UK. Our room was on the first floor and had a strong smell of paint that we had to open our window each time we were in. However the room was spacious and bathroom had a bath tub as well as a separate shower. Me and my friend prefer showers, so after having one the bathroom floor was flooded and it was impossible to walk as water was everywhere making floor slippery. Breakfast was standard continental, cereals, ham/cheese, and pastries. Hotel staff is great, very friendly, understanding and helpful. I would not probably stay in this hotel again as it is a little bit remote from Monastiraki square where all the action is.

Despite the transportation strike, we were able to get around with no issues. Pretty much every sight was within walking distance from the hotel. Hotel staff was always very friendly and accommodating. Greek food and wine were quite nice and affordable. Overall, a very enjoyable mini holiday.

Hotel was relatively close to major attractions, ie Acropolis, Agora. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was very freindly and helpful. Cleaning staff could have been more careful to make sure that necessities were kept up, like toilet paper.

Our room was clean and have a coffee maker.The glassed bathroom is stylish, however, the shower is in the same room with the toilet. The shower water runs outside of the shower door and wet the toilet seat..The receptionist(s) are most helpful. We were there during the various transportation strikes. The staff arranged private car to pick us up at the cruise port and directed us how to get around the city by different transportation. On Friday night, the nearby nightclub had a loud music party which lasted into the hour we checked out of the hotel. We had to leave early in the morning. They packed us a big bag of sandwiches and fruits to take with.

The free bottled water listed in the amenities list for hotels.com is incorrect. The cost of the water is minimal. It was just annoying to find out about the charges even though it was clearly stated in the hotel description that it was included in the room price. However, we were quite satisfied with our stay and the staff was otherwise helpful. The breakfast buffet was very good.

The hotel was very modern, clean and the service of the staff was excellent. Concierge valet parking available, at 10 euros per day, very reliable. However the hotel isn't in a very pleasant area for walking in the evening. Restaurant food was very good, but the service was very slow, although professional. Overall, definitely recommend, just be aware of the local area.

My partner and I stayed for 2 nights on arrival from Melbourne. At first glance we were so happy with our choice, however after walking up the road nearly 50 meters we were in the middle of drug addicts 'shooting up' drugs into arms. Not a pleasant experience. Hotel was amazing, great service and amazing people working which are very helpful re were to go, what to do etc.

our room windows blocked all the street noise, very polite and excellent hotel service staff, within walking distance to the archeological promenade in Athes, Kerameikos cemetery and museum was right across the street this provided a great first stop after our arrival at the hotel with our 4 year old before she took her first nap...overall we highly recommend this hotel for couples and families traveling to Athens.

Very nice people - great roof top restaurant - the food was very good! The room was very comfortable and clean - the bathroom was large and comfortable (our toilette was in the same place as the shower which was strange...but you could opt to shower in the bath tub as well). The hotel was a short walk from some very nice tourist attractions. Slept like a log every night! Breakfast was a good way to start the day with a variety of goodies.

Service was great, room was spacious and comfortable, the bathroom looked very nice. The rooftop restaurant has an amazing view and is very affordable.

We got the room with a view, but the room itself was tiny. The bed was very uncomfortable and the restaurant menu was limited. At least the staff was very helpful and the hotel was very clean.

Stayed there the 3rd time and I am satisfied. Tried the rooftop restaurant, the food is good and reasonably priced, the waiters could more attentive. Avoid street facing rooms, they can be noisy .

We had a junior suite that was more than enough room for the 3 of us. It also was nice that there were two separate sleeping areas because it allowed all of us a little extra room. Upon arriving to the hotel we were met with refreshing juice and the extra service continued through our stay. The roof top bar and restaurant is a must! The view from it is superb! The surrounding area is up and coming so while it wasn't the greatest neighborhood we never felt unsafe. Close to restaurants, cafes, and the sites. Also, the contemporary decor is very nice.

We stayed only 1 night at this hotel but it was really nice, it's walking distance from the acropolis, plaka and monastiraki square. It was very clean and the staff was very helpful and nice.

The bed was really comfortable, breakfast was great.

The staff here is amazing -- they did everything possible to anticipate and cater to our every want and need. The hotel is lovely inside and the rooms are organized in such a way that our regular room felt like 2 rooms, one inner and one outer. Wonderful breakfast in the morning and just a few blocks away from the Promenade, a 20 minute walk to the Acropolis. I've stayed here twice now and would stay here again.

The stay was great, it was nice to step of the dirty streets of downtown and immediately feel like we were in a safe, clean and welcoming place. The breakfast was amazing and we loved the shower. Would stay here again for sure!

The pictures of the hotel do NOT do it adequate justice. The hotel is gorgeous, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was luxuri-atious(!), the breakfast was delectable, the location was a mintues-walk from the Acropolis as well as nightlife, and the staff was friendly.

I always go there when I'm in Athens. The hotel is not in the very central part of Athens but it's close to a nice area called Gazi, full of bars, clubs and restaurants. The hotel is very nice and people very kind.

Upon arrival, we were greeted with a much appreciated complementary drink - particularly nice after having to get the bus instead of the metro from the airport to the city centre due to strikes. All the staff were friendly, helpful and very welcoming. The view from the rooftop bar at sunset is now the background on my laptop - beautiful!

Lovely hotel just outside Plaka area. Roof top bar has fantastic view of The Acropolis. Staff were very accommodating as we arrived early after19 hr flight and they prepare the ro in an hour and also gave us an up-grade. Walking distance to many area and the hop on hop off bus. Recommend this.

We had a wonderful stay at this little hotel. We could walk to all the top spots, which was lucky because everything that moved was on strike. The reception desk was five stars - helped us navigate everything including a private car to the dock since no other transportation was working. I can't say enough good things about the place. The location, price, helpfulness of the staff. Oh, and a fabulous breakfast to boot. and an evening view of the Acropolis from the roof to die for.

This was a cute boutique hotel and not too close to the touristy Plaka area (which worked out well during the Athens riots happening while we were there). The area is a bit sketchy (we saw people doing drugs in the nearby park), I would not walk around alone (as a female) at night but felt ok with my boyfriend. It's a convenient walk to the cute Monastiraki area and not far from the Akropolis if you don't mind a 20-25 min walk. They upgraded us to a nicer room, which was much better than the standard room we had booked (we saw both). The front desk was not really helpful, we asked multiple times for local restaurant recommendations or feedback on places we had read about and they had no idea about any of them. It's located on a major street but the windows are double pane - we didn't hear a thing!

Location - Not at the very center of things - that what be at syntagma or the placa. But for the same price you would pay for a very basic hotel room at the above mentioned areas of town, you upgrade yourself to a luxurious hotel, just 10 minutes away. If you are willing to make that sacrifice, you will get a much higher value for you money. Also a little less than a 10 minute walk from boyth the Keramikos and Thissio metro stations. Reception - Very courteous and helpful as tourist guides (attractions, restaurants, driving out of town). Rooms - Beautiful and clean. Not spacious. Breakfast - Basic.

Area of town is sketchy. Hotel rooms small. Breakfast terrible. Concierge not so helpful

It was a short walk to the acropolis and great restaurants by the acropolis and to the right of the hotel has some great local restaurants. one restaurant is right next store. the hotel serves a great breakfast. took the metro to the ferry a close walk returned after a week on the island they stored some of my bags until i returned which was nice. took the subway to the airport too. the staff was very helpful with directions. I thought the neighborhood was cool not sure where the other people live that said it wasn't a safe neighborhood. maybe the suburbs?

Positive: - Clean, kind staff, Free Internet Negative: - The Hotel is not 5 Stars its 4 stars. - We arrived in the afternoon & we had to carry our 4 bags Mr concierge was off at 6pm. - The Hotel does not have any restaurant, so we had to make a walk of 20 minutes to find a closer resto & have dinner this was for every night. - the shower has no curtain & all the water will fall on the floor.

We were very impessed from the Hotel in general. Service, cleaning and the behaviour of all staff was excellent.

bel hôtel, mais le petit-déjeuner décevant, buffet, non réapprovisionné. les chambres coté rue sont très bruyant, même pendant la nuit. malgré le proximité de l'Acropolis, dans un quartier moyen

Belle chambre spacieuse avec vue sur l acropole.excellent petit dejeunner . Bien placé pour Gazi , mais rues environnantes mediocres. Bien placé our visite acropole , mais pas pour plaka.

We stayed 3 nights prior our trip to the greek islands. The hotel is not a 5 stars hotel but is clean, modern, the service is very good and the views of the acropolis from the restaurant in the roof are fantastic. We strickly recommend to have dinner there. The only but of the hotel is that you can see some "strange" people from the area behind, which is not the best area of Athens. Anyway it is safe and is not a big issue. Having the main atractions at 5 minuts walking compensates this small "but". We will be back if coming again to Greece.

A proximité de la station de métro Thyssio et d'un accès à l'acropole, l'emplacement de l'hôtel peut paraître éloigné mais il est idéal pour les visites des sites. L'hôtel vous accueille avec un rafraîchissement à votre arrivée. Souriant et à vos petits soins, le personnel d'étage et à l'accueil fait beaucoup d'efforts pour vous satisfaire. On met même un PC portable à disposition si besoin. Une chambre propre, une sdb époustouflante, un lit de rêve... Et le petit déjeuner, croissant, ju d'orange frais, etc. Très bon souvenir. Si vous allez manger au restaurant en terrasse, des plats de qualité et en cadeau de bienvenu un verre de vin est offert. Adresse à retenir...

Mycket fina och fräscha lokaler med trevligt bemötande. Vi hade en riktigt bra vistelse på Eridanus. Hotellet var enligt Hotels.com 4-stjärnigt men det visade sig vara 5-stjärnigt när vi anlände. Det verkade nästan som att det hade uppgraderats veckan innan vi kom dit för allt ifrån personal till små detaljer verkade mer vilja vara ett fancy-pancy-hotell än vad det var. Inte riktigt helt inkörda (början på augusti 2012) i att vara det top noch hotell som det säkert kommer vara om några veckor eller så. Roomservice var billigare än att käka på stan, grym mat dessutom, även frukosten var toppen! 10-15 minuter till Monistiraki och ytterligare 10-15 till Syntagma. Inga problem att gå till Akropolis, 15-20 min i sommarvärmen. Hotellet och Parthenon var höjdpunkter i ett annars stökigt Aten. Ni som läser om att ett "hotell ligger i ruffiga kvarter" och drar öronen åt er ska veta att Aten består av ruffiga kvarter (undantag Akropolis, något stråk i Plaka och om man bor med utsikt över Syntagma). Inga som helst problem att vara ute på dagarna men jag skulle inte dra runt sent på kvällen/natten. Vi avslutade en ö-luff med ett par nätter på hotellet för att hinna se Aten och ha marginal till flyget på väg hem (tunnelbanan till flygplatsen tog lååång tid förövrigt). Mer än ett par nätter kan jag tyvärr inte rekommendera Aten som stad så bo bra på Eridanus och åk vidare sen.

I can recomend this hotel, easpecially if you chose the executive rooms on floor 5 with a view of Akropolis. The top roof restaurant is great. Good food and a fantastic view of Akropolis in the evening. The only issue to consider is thelocation of the hotel. It is very good located geographically and close to Plaka and the city center. However, there is a lot of drogs and criminality in the sorroundings and you should be careful were to be and not to be.

La localización no es la mejor. Aún así, es una gran alternativa. Hotel chico con un gran bar en la azotea con GRAN vista. El desayuno es de lo mejor en la zona y los cuartos son EXCELENTES para el precio pagado. Definitivamente regresaría. NOTA: La zona es mas segura de lo que en primera impresión parece, mi estancia en Athenas fué muy buena.
