Hotel Reykjavik Centrum - רייקיאוויק

Hotel centrum is ideally located in the city for restaurants bars and shops. Also close to tourist information where trips such as the blue lagoon and golden circle(highly recommended) can be booked.

For the money we paid we expected better. There was no free wifi, we had to pay to use it. The bed had an odd ridge that felt as if two beds of different heights had been pushed together and a mattress put on top. The carpets all looked as if they had suffered water damage, and there were clods of dirt on the stairs for the duration of our stay.

The hotel was in a great location. near shopping. nice area to walk around in many types of foods to eat in the area.

Loved the location and the authenticity of the hotel. Nice little bar, good breakfast area and good WiFi.

Great location and very clean. Nice breakfast buffet for 2,500 kr/pp. Wi-fi is extra.

Everything was great about the hotel except the fact that it had no fridge. There was a mini bar but it was stuffed. I would have like a fridge so we could have stored our own drinks and food. I would even with this highly recommend this hotel.

Good trip. 3 nights was the right amount of time as keykjavik very compact.

Amazing!!! Right near the tour buses, right next to all the best restaurants, almost on the main city street. No other hotel could beat this location. On suite room was gorgeous. TV very old and crackly so we took a portable DVD player for night times.

Hotel was great. Rooms were a little small but very clean and comfortable. Internet was not included. Rates were reasonable but service continued to get dropped. Could improve especially since I was paying for the service. Buffet Breakfast was expensive but well worth it. Hotel does not have parking so you are on your own if you bring a car.

Very well located, rooms were clean and tidy - maybe a little small, but there was room to open two cases and stuff. The hotel's location was great, with the shops and bars right on the doorstep. I recommend the Micro bar round the corner for great beers! Staff were friendly and helpful at all times, and booked us on several buses and shuttles with no hassle.

Hotel is perfectly lovely. Clean, nice decor, and good location. The staff is generally well intentioned, and sometimes but not always on the job. As one example, the phone at reception was off the hook for an hour. To get an internet code to use the wifi (not free, costs $5), I had to walk downstairs to let them know their phone was off the hook. We didn't eat in the restaurant - too many other good options in town, although it did get good ratings in guidebooks.

Iceland is fantastic! Everything on our trip was great, including the hotel which was close to restaurants and city center. The cleanliness of the room was superb, and the service and hotel overall very charming and personal. The only disadvantage was that breakfast is not included.

The hotel is conveniently located in the centre of Reykjavik. We enjoyed a pleasant stay.

We had a long weekend in Reykjavic and stayed at the Centrum-it was absolutely perfect for us. Great location in a cute little square, nice room (if a little poky), good little restaurant for breakfast and friendly staff. Just the job!

We found everyone very helpful and will recommend this hotel.

The Centrum is right in down-town Reykjavik, on top of an archaelogical site and museum (which is great) and down the block from one of the tourist-information buildings. The staff were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I wasn't crazy about the electricity only working when one's key-card was in the slot in the wall (which wasn't identified; it appeared to merely be a no-smoking sign); I would have liked to be able to leave a light on when out in the evening, but I imagine it is more energy-efficient that way. They also have small safes right in the room; a real convenience if you need it. Breakfast was supposed to be included in the price but was actually an extra. It wasn't expensive, and the food was quite good, it was just a little irksome to be misled by the advertising. But if you want to be right in the heart of the sites for tourists, without being in a big impersonal place, the Centrum is great and the staff are wonderful.

The hotel is perfectly situated for the central part of town. The rooms are fairly small but are clean and fresh.

Great stay for 4 days in Hotel Reykjavik Centrum. All positive. The only exception might be that they charge for the password for Wi-Fi. Not a big issue as the room price was very reasonable and most cafes have free Wi-Fi.Room was very clean and quiet, although we were in the off season. Staff were helpful etc.

Excellent location, excellent breakfast, very comfortable. Reception staff very helpful. Only downsides - room very warm and no control in the room to change it and I would have liked a comfortable armchair in the room.

Loved the location. It was the reason we booked our stay here. Our only negatives were no complimentary breakfast, which we were aware of, and no WiFi unless you paid extra. The room was very nice.

Entirely satisfied

We loved Iceland and the Hotel Centrum was perfectly placed. It is a small hotel located in a picturesque part of the city. Other large hotels are in ugly commercial strips. A great Resturant the Fish Market is a couple doors away so foodies should get reservations as soon as they arrive. We stayed 2 nights in Iceland and did the Blue Lagoon and the Golden Circle tour. We also strolled around Reykjavik , up the hill from the Hotel is a cemetery, a history museum, and then you can come down the hill by the "pond" for some nice views. We suggest a three day stay so you won't feel so rushed and you can get over jet lag before going on to Europe.

Good location, room clean, though on the small side as are many European hotels, staff was helpful in arranging for tours and checking on flight information. Wifi service expensive with hourly or daily charges. Hotel atmosphere is bright and hospitable, though associated restaurant prices are quite expensive if you are spending US dollars.

Had a fantastic 3 night stay, arrived on an overnight flight from Canada and despite the hotel being full the previous night they quickly prepared a room for us to check in to. The staff were fantastic and very helpful. The hotel is well located in the heart of Reykjavik and has all the facilities you need from a top hotel, including a good breakfast, nice bar and clean, beautifully decorated rooms. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel, particularly for the great staff and location.

Great Hotel in excellent downtown location

I love Iceland.

The hotel is overpriced and service is on the chilly side. My room wasn't available at check in and, rather than offer me a complimentary breakfast during the extended wait, they invited me to purchase a meal while I wait. How thoughtful. Once it was available, I wanted to crash for an hour. Unfortunately, this was interrupted within 15 minutes by the maid service who apparently thought the room needing cleaning again. And fully ignoring the Do Not Disturb sign. Good location, clean, but overpriced and noisy. Since there are plenty other options in the area, what's the point?

Everything was GREAT! While there the old adage saying "Your hotel room quality will be in direct reverse of the time allowed for your stay" came to mind as soon as we arrived! ALAS! We only had one night in this GEM!!

We had very nice weather,and the afternoon sun heated the room beyond comfort.The only non perfection!

The only drawback was that the rooms are very small, but we would definitely stay there again because of the location, cleanliness, and friendly and helpful staff. These far outweigh the drawback of room size.

Great stay: clean comfortable lobby, great breakfast, and comfortable if a bit small room. Unfortunately my phone disappeared from my room. I suspect some funny business but can't be certain.

My son and I really enjoyed our stay with you. Great location near everything we wanted to see in Reykjavik, including wonderful restaurants. Being so near the plaza gave us a sense of how vibrant and energetic, and sun-loving,Icelanders are. Our room was clean and quiet. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. If we return we will stay again with you for sure.Thank you.

Highly recommend this hotel.

Friendliness of staff could have been much better. Very central location, I did not need a rental car, just walked every where. Slight water damage and smell in the 2nd floor hallway, but otherwise very clean hotel. Internet and breakfast is not included when purchased through Hotels.com. Allowed me to store luggage in large closet when I was early for my reservation and after I checked out, very convenient option that I appreciated. Shower has no wall or curtain, very weird but didn't bother me too much. Best feature is there is direct bus service to and from the airport from this hotel (not free). Overall, I would stay here again.

Not much I can fault with this hotel. It's well-designed and the facilities are good. The location is just far enough away from the lairy part of town to afford some quiet, yet near enough to the centre so that it's a few minutes' walk away. Breakfast food is good, even when it's not included in the rate, though the restaurant in the evening could do with considering vegetarians on its menu. However, the chef was extremely helpful in making up lunch-boxes for us that I'm sure, if you asked, you'd get something good in the evenings. We'd stay there again, despite it being quite expensive.

The hotel was fine, but the rates did not include internet access or breakfast, and I thought it was overpriced. The TV is old and small, without HD or many channels. There was only Sky TV news (Murdoch) and no BBC or CNN.

I would like to tell you that Eva and Danille made our stay feel right at home. You are very lucky to have two wonderfula and pleasant employees. They went out of there way to help us each and every day. Please let them know how much we enjoyed talking to them and having them greet us every morining for our coffee.

They did a great job even when things weren't working. Our TV broke and even after making every effort to fix it, they gave us the option of changing rooms or free internet access. Wasn't that nice? Most hotels would have had said, "Sorry." The staff was great. Very helpful in making decisions about side trips, restaurants and more. Can't wait to go back.

A pleasure! My wife is celiac and the hotel chef was fantastic! He even drove us to the local supermarket that supplied gluten free products so that we could prepare a home cooked meal in the studio apartment we stayed in. A lovely place to stay!

Pros: Close to many attractions, good restaurant and happy hour was pleasant, computers with a printer available for guests to use, wood floors in rooms, and comfortable rooms. Cons: Dirty carpets.

I was very happy with the choice of staying at this hotel. I found the location to be excellent, right in the heart of Reykjavik and in close proximity to everything in walking distance. I've seen a previous review where a guest complained that this hotel was always the first pick up and last drop off for tours. I took several tours and I never found this to be the case. The hotel staff was helpful, friendly and attentive. I also really appreciated the free internet access in the hotel's lobby (though they probably want to secure with passwords for hotel guests only). My only small complaint is that while I was a single person staying in a twin room, when my room was made up, the number of towels, washcloths, coffee, etc. was replenished for only one person. I felt that I shouldn't have to continue to ask for a second towel everyday or additional coffees since I was probably paying the same price as a twin room with two people.

Spotlessly clean small hotel conveniently located in the heart of downtown Reykjavik. Room was comfortable and quiet. Small, but well designed, bathroom. Highly recommended - I plan on staying there again on my next visit to Reykjavik.
