The Kennebunk Inn - קנבאנק‏

The Inn was clean and comfortable. We checked in on New Year's Eve and Kennebunk was busy! We were 10 minutes from Kennebunkport where we were having dinner. Room was small but sufficient, bathroom small...but shower was good. The next room's bathroom was a bit close and wall maybe a bit thin :-) ...Yes, I would stay there again!

We were extremely disappointed with the Kennebunk Inn. The room was so small it was difficult for 2 people to move around. There was a queen mattress on a king frame, which made getting in and out of bed on one side rather awkward. The bathtub was a quaint claw foot tub, very high sides and hard to get in and out. The shower was added later and you are totally surrounded by a heavy shower curtain. We are petite ladies, If you consider yourself larger than average, the bathing experience will be frustrating. Our room was on the second floor over the restaurant/bar and it was extremely noisy. The stairs to the second and third floor were directly in from of our room and were quite noisy; as well as squeaky floors above. We have stayed in hostels on the east and west coasts that were much more commodious at a much more reasonable rate. For you coffee addicts, you can buy it down the street at 6AM weekdays and 7AM weekends or wait till the hotel brings coffee at 7:30!! We would recommend the restaurant...the food was delightful!

I booked a room at this inn with a little reluctance because the ratings and reviews are very polarizing. Upon arrival, we were immediately put at ease. The hotel was extremely easy to find on a main street and there was ample parking. We were able to check in immediately and were given recommendations on where to eat. Our room was not considered "modern" because of the period charm wall paper, but was very clean and spacious. This did not at all make us unhappy (as some of the other reviewers were) because the quality of the building and room had the characteristic New England B&B style we have come to enjoy for the charm and history. The in-house restaurant was accomodating (brought us wine to sip while we briefly waited in the hotel lobby) and the food was excellent. The only negative of our particular room was it was next to the stairs on the 3rd floor so we heard a lot of stair traffic throughout the night. Overall, we were very pleased considering all the negative reviews and would definitely stay here again!

Relaxing atmosphere , great town near everything, nice staff,good restaurant at the inn and in the area.

Old Inn that is well maintained with excellent food and beverage service. The Inn is located in the old downtown area with interesting shops. The staff is very friendly and very knowledgable about the sites.

Rooms are tiny, but we expected that. What we didn't expect was that the bathroomshaven't been revoated in decades. Claw foot tubs surrounded by a not so clean shower curtain, old porcelain wall hung sinks with separate hot and cold water spouts and absolutely no place to spread personal hygience / make up products. Noisy window mounted air condtioner that barely kept the room comfortable, plus when I looked at the vents saw some nice green mold. For the cost we would have thought that there would have been at least a continental breakfeast- instead, just coffee and juice, despite the fact that the Inn's restaurant is right there. Would never recommend this place to anyone

The room we stayed in was at the top of stairs adjacent to an entry onto a patio dining area. The door constantly was slamming as wait staff served guests on the patio. We were hoping to get some rest.. The room was on the small side and the bathroom was tiny and very dated. the room could have had a better feel with walpaper and some mainenance treatments. The bed, however, was comfortable and it appears that much of the rest of the hotel has been updated. The staff was very friendly. The two things that would bring us back is that the Hotel is located close to Kennebunkport and the rate is half the cost of the more expensive hotels in Kennebunkport.

The rooms are very small. The first part of our trip we stayed in a small room, this room, was even smaller, so don't expect too much space. I think for the money it was a little tiny. The bathroom, since it was added was a bit small and awkward. East access to the rooms though, and everything was clean. We thought about enjoying the restaurant, especially after hearing about the lobster pot pie, but after looking at the menu, was very dissapointed. Nothing really stood out and the pot pie was on the appetizer menu and cost way way more than it should. Overall, it was nice to be away from the beach crowd, but I don't think I would want to pay those rates again for such a small space when down the street was what looked like a cottage type room for less.

The Kennebunk Inn is a wonderful hotel with great service

Rooms really small, TV really small, no curtains, wall hangings, pictures, bdrm/bathroom terribly outdated...very slippery tub/shower!

The Kennebunk Inn was a great spot to relax, enjoy a lovely lobster pie dinner and fresh baked cookies daily! With old New England charm, the Inn was a perfect location to get to surrounding sites of Kennebunkport, York and Ogunquit. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We will recommend this spot to friends and family!

We were not aware there would be no elevator and 20 steps to our room. My friends has a bad hip and struggled to climb the stairs. Room was tiny filled with the queen bed and furniture. Could barely walk around it. The bathroom was so small you had to enter the door sideways. Claw tub was impossible for my friend to navigateThere was an extra locked door in our room that obviously entered into our neighbors bathroom. Heard bathroom flush, shower, hair dryer and more . I will say the staff was always kind and helpful but couldn't help us.

Clean room, friendly staff. Floors were squeaky, room was very small for the price... Maybe out of season its not as bad but I feel I was overcharged. No fridge, bathroom was tiny. Can't say I would go there again but only because of over price for small room

we were taken to the third floor fire trap suite with the old filthy carpet. when I practically panicked being asthmatic, we were given a first floor room with windows that did not even open. that was the one thing on the third floor, the windows had been replaced. Had lunch at historic hotel on the water, with pool, beautiful rooms and view for less $$ checked out three other properties for the next visit to the area. this facility is WAY WAY overpriced compared to other properties. Maintenance of the building is very poor.

This is a lovely old inn that has been spoiled by new building in the area. Rooms are comfortable but food in dining room was not nearly as good as expected. Service was good.

Really lovely old building with lots of period features. Room was comfortable but the bathroom was a bit small and needed some updating.

The location is great, it is very clean and staff was wonderful. Great for the price. Smallish rooms. Walls are paper thin so adjoining rooms wtih TV etc can be distracting. Overall a great find!

I have to keep in mind that as an inn, it comes with personality, creaky floors, slamming doors. and beautiful ambiance. All was lovely with the inn, but unfortunately there was a young soccer team staying in the room above us and they were rarin' to go with cleats and all about 6:45am - for about an hour. Yes, I was ready to visit them, but what can you do with young children? Maybe put them on the first floor next time? Thanks again for a nice stay.

Stayed here one night October 2011. Drove up from Boston, arrived about 10:30 p.m. Nobody at front desk but my key was laid out on the counter for me. Nicely furnished room with antiques and creaky floorboards! Small desk but no chair for writing or computing. Wireless access worked fine. Bathroom was small (to be expected in a building of that age), no shelf for toothbrush or glass. Comfortable bed, good towels and toiletries. Room was chilly - no individual controls for heat. Extra blanket provided (and used). Radiator came on in the morning. Not much in the way of restaurants in the neighborhood - one in the hotel and one across the street, coffee shop on same side of street. I only tried the latter. I might have felt a little cramped during a longer stay; still,I found this to be a charming example of a New England inn.

Wonderful historical inn. We loved it.

This is a pleasant hotel is a convienent location to many areas of attraction. The Adams Room is a bit on the small size and the AC Unit was noisy.The restaurant served some great dishes and was pleasant for a quiet evening and we did not feel rushed out after the meal which always provides for a nice way to end the day. Other rooms appeared to offer more space and chairs for sitting.

Lots of charm...very classy. Loved sitting on the front porch in the rocking chairs watching the people stroll by. We had a suite, thought it was two full bedrooms but only two rooms. Very clean, comfortable. Only problem was the people in the next room were noisy. Other than that, we had a great experience. Dining room closed, but looked so inviting.

We love old hotels and inns. They have such charm and history. The decor was very nice. It is a pet friendly and we had to listen to a barking dog for hours at bedtime as the owner was out to dinner. We feel that pets are OK but not unattended. It was noted that the patio and the sidewalk needed to be swept as there were sand, dirt and twigs on the ground. We will go back next year as we love the location and sitting on the front porch in the rockers. We walked down the street for breakfast and ate in a little restaurant that was suggested by the inn. Breakfast is not served at the inn but they have coffee, tea, and juice.The main street is very nice with its brick sidewalks and hanging plants on the lamp posts. Charming!!

Good price but small room, small tv and noise from the other rooms

if you're looking for a clean, comfortable, pleasant place to stash your stuff, decompress and get some rest while you explore the Kennebunk and environs, this place is perfect. It's not a four-star hotel, but why would you want one when you can rent a scooter and cruise the country roads, spend afternoons at the beach, or chase down the hottest li'l lobster rolls money can buy? I don't know. All I know is we got our money's worth.

not within walking distance of the main local attractions, but certainly an easy drive. nice quirky old inn with a top-notch restaurant. the shower was a miserable device reminiscent of third world hotels in decay. Overall, the inn was very enjoyable and I would book it again.

Older but comfortable. Stayed during an usually hot week and did have window unit air conditioning but it was not too efficient. Overall a nice stay.

Very lovely and quaint. 3 story inn with immaculate rooms and very pleasant staff. However, if you are tall or claustrophobic, then this is not for you. Rooms are cozy but very condensed.

I was very impressed by the service we recieved once we got to the hotel on Thursday night. My Aunt does not walk well and staying on the upper floors without an elevator is impossible for her. When I informed the staff of this when we checked in they were kind enough to upgrade us to a suite on the 1st floor for no extra charge. I would suggest this hotel for anyone who wants charm and location

My husband & I enjoyed our stay at the Hotel. The staff was very friendly and polite. Wasn't really a big fan of the two flights of stairs. Our room was clean and comfy. Wasn't a large room and thought it was a bit overpriced. No breakfast on Sundays or anydays, no pool,not much around as far as stores. The bathroom at room 36 was small...the step up not well planned and i probably tripped a half a dozen times... Didn't try the food..the restaurant looked very nice and clean...maybe another time to Maine we will try it. Overall i would recommend to people...the quiet, cleaniness...and friendly service will always have me coming back.

The Kennebunk Inn is a great bargain . The building is old with older amenities but still very comfortable. Do not expect all of the bells and whistles of a modern hotel. However our room was very comfortable, clean and perfectly suitable for a short stay in Maine. We could not evaluate the restaurant as we stayed on a Monday and it was not open that day. Note that this hotel in in Kennebunk not in Kennebunkport.

Now that I've seen the Kennebunk Inn and the Econolodge, I wish I had chosen the Econolodge. It was nicer, offered more, and cost less.
