Hotel Malar - פריז

The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the hotel is about a 7 minute walk from the nearest Metro stop. The room was quiet small, but really who will be staying in their room much of the time while in Paris. I will say one thing I didn't care much for was the location of our room. It was not attached to the original building, but behind it. There was an all concrete courtyard located between our room and the original hotel. It was quiet noisy when people were exiting their rooms and when walking up and down the stairs to get to the 2nd or 3rd floor since everything echoed. Also, while in your room you could also smell people smoking in the courtyard. The staff were really very nice, helpful, and friendly! That's why I bumped up my rating to a 3.

For a first time traveler to Paris I thought Hotel Malar was great. Paris hotels (we stayed in another hotel as well) definitely live up their reputations as far as being small and having to walk up stairs if you want to stay in the $125-$175 range, however, any reputation of rude service was certainly not present at Hotel Malar. The location was in a seemingly high income neighborhood, more businesses than some other areas, so quieter at night. It was a 5 minute walk to Rue Cler, about 15 minutes to the Eiffel Tower and 10 minutes to the nearest Metro stop. I would stay there again or suggest others to do so if being near the Eiffel tower is your priority.

My daughter and I stayed at this hotel while visiting a local university. It was a great location...maybe 10 minute walk to subway. Eiffel Tower also about 10 minute walk. The hotel is old and the rooms are small, but the staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and we encountered no problems. No one goes to Paris to stay in their hotel room, so the size was not really an inconvenience. Everyone we encountered on the staff spoke some varying levels of English as well. Overall it was a great experience and we would definitely use this hotel again.

Hotel was great. Great location, great services. Staff was extraordinarily nice and helpful. Couldn't have had a better stay.

Very friendly staff! We were sold 3 nights, however the third night we couldn't stay because hotel was oversold by hotels.com, and staff was very friendly and tried to help.

Hotel is challenging with no elevator and narrow steep stairs. rooms are small! Tiny single beds. Heat was not turned on in mid-November. Room was cold. Told hotel staff -- no change in temperature. On the positive, the price for a Paris hotel was reasonable. Walking distance to Eiffel Tower and Seine, Metro stops. Neighborhood location so there were restaurants and shops nearby.

It's perfect - not too touristy - and still comfortable enough.. it's right next to L'ami Jean (not open on sundays)... and in the 7th - probably one of the nicest neighbourhoods in Paris.. Only thing is that it doest have a porter or a lift..so you have to lug your bags to your room, which isn't fun in the small tiny staircase. The staffi s very helpful and friendly

Hotel was a little run down, but very quiet since the rooms are off the main street. Great location, just a few minutes from the metro and close to everything downtown. However this hotel did have the largest bathroom of all the hotels I've stayed in in Paris, a huge plus.

This a very small hotel with NO elevators! We had to carry our luggage to the 4th floor through a narrow steep stairwell. Breakfast there is pretty pricey so you are better off going to a cafe nearby. Room was very small as well as bathroom but we had a cute view from our window, we could see the tip of the tower from our room. Very close to Eiffel Tower so it made it a bit romantic. Metro station is 10 minute walk from hotel. Paris is beautiful and if you are willing to walk and get lost in the streets of Paris you will see it all. There is a piece of history every mile N, S, E, W from each other. Would consider this hotel but the elevator factor takes it all away.

Would not stay there again. We are too old for the unsafe stairs. Nasty carpet. Not a good value for your money. Staff was nice and helpful. Charming area. They try, but can only do so much with an old place. I am sure many would consider it very Parisian, but that, unfortunately, includes too much discomfort for me!

I like this hotel be ause it is a very untouristy environment. It is not for all tourists because there is no elevator, the two rooms I was in had showers to small for large or tall people. Wonderful, kind attendants in particular Cyril was very helpful a d friendly also Monsieur Fernando. I would suggest two things: 1) take out the carpet which looked quite bad due to age, stains etc and just have plain floor with a small rug by the bed and 2) plant flowers in the flower pots outside the windows. Neither of my rooms had flowers in them and I could see the ones across from me in the rooms across the court. It's a small thing but would add a lot to the setting. Geraniums are very sturdy and the cleaning service could just water once a week. Last suggestion, with a confirmed reservation just add: out metro #8 Tour Marbourg straight down for a block or two to La Dominique. Turn left past the grocery store and turn right at Rue Malar. It's half a. Lock down on the right. This should be helpful to all guests. I will recommend your hotel and hope to be a guest in the future. Room was clean and good linens. One room did have a small refrigerator the other did not. Perhaps this should be information given when reserving a room.

We had a 30-hour layover in Paris, and we decided that we wanted to stay close to the Eiffel Tower and other tourist attractions in order to maximize our sightseeing. The Hotel Malar is in a cute, quiet neighborhood tucked a few blocks away from the Eiffel Tower. We arrived early in the morning, and the hotel clerk gladly stored our suitcases until we could check in at 2:00pm that afternoon. The surrounding area has a few restaurants, cafes, and a small grocery store, and it is within easy walking distance to more trafficked streets with a wider variety of restaurants. Our room was small, but clean. The bathroom was larger than expected with a strong shower, not water, and clean linens. I'd recommend this hotel for travelers who have short stays and plan on spending most of their days wandering around Paris. I'd definitely stay here again!

The hotel was just a few blocks from the Tower... great! The price was very low... great! My room, 4th floor, no elevator, not great. My shower was ridiculously small, as was the room but you get what you pay for and I was on a very tight budget. I regret staying at this hotel but my walet doesn't

I know hotel rooms tend to be small in Paris, but this was ridiculous. The bed was up against the wall so that the person sleeping on that side had to climb out the end of the bed. It was impossible to sit at the desk not only because a chair was not provided, but a refrigerator was under it. We did use a plastic chair that was in the bathroom and sat sideways to use the laptop. We were 3 floors up narrow, wooden stairs, not that great when you have to carry luggage. The worst part was that the shower did not drain and water flooded everywhere, all the way into the room. The clerk was very sorry for the inconvenience of a wet floor, but since the hotel was full we couldn't move to another room. She did mop up the bathroom, but not much could be done about the wet carpet. I would not stay here again even though the location was great.

Friendly, helpful service from staff. Small room, as typical for European big city hotels. Bathroom very small, shower just barely big enough to turn around in. Clean rooms and hotel. Good breakfast.

My friend and I stayed here for two nights at the end of our stay. There was a problem with the plumbing when we arrived so we had no water that afternoon and night, which was extremely unpleasant but not anyone's fault. We were given as many water bottles as we needed and the problem was fixed by the next morning. My only qualms about this hotel were that there was no air conditioning in the rooms and no elevator. Other than that the Eiffel tower is very close and the hotel is not too far of a distance from many of the major sites, if you don't mind lots of walking. Not immediately close to a metro station, but the surrounding area is lovely to walk around in!! There's a bakery nearby on St Dominique called Le Moulin de la vierge that has DELICIOUS croissants, get them warm in the morning!! The room is nothing fancy, no safe or fridge but was very clean and the double bed was nice and big.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Malar. The staff and service was excellent. It was hard to find fault in this quaint boutique hotel. If I had any recommendations it would be the request of air conditioning. But that was about it. Next time I visit Paris I would definately stay here. Close to all the sights and flavours of Paris. It was easy to walk everywhere or catch a bus to more outlying sights.

The hotel is a basic place, but fine. A bit over-priced for the room and bed size, we think. It's in a very nice neighborhood with plenty of cafes etc nearby.

Travelling on a small budget usually means having to stay in some pretty dank places, but this hotel was a pleasant exception. Having looked for cheap affordable accomodation in Paris I quickly discovered how expensive the city is if you wish to stay very central, so when I saw this hotel I thought it was a bargain considering it's close proximity to the Eiffel Tower. It's certainly a no thrills hotel, but then all I was going to be doing was sleeping at night as my days were spent out in the city (who really wants to spend money to go on holiday and then spend it all in a hotel, it seems a bit of a pointless waste of money to me). People have complained about the size of the room, and yes, it was small, but I didn't expect anything different after reading other people's comments. And yes, the bathroom was tiny, and the shower was not for the hefty sized person, but that's the point of reading reviews, and it amazes me how people still come and complain about these things when a quick bit of prior research would let them know all the info they needed. I stayed in this hotel expecting a small room, and a small shower, and it's what I got. There were no nasty surprises. It was clean enough, the bed was comfortable, and I didn't really hear any outside noise. Yes, you could hear people coming up the stairs, but it didn't bother me as I was awake and getting ready for my day at that point anyway. I really have no complaints. Would I stay here again? Possibly not, but that's only because I could find a cheaper, or same priced hotel in one of the surrounding Paris subburbs. I didn't book one for this trop because I was unaware of how good the Paris Metro system was, but having seen how fantastic the transport is (London could learn a thing or two) I would happily stay in a more residential district and have a little more comfort. But I would definitely recommend this hotel to others who are looking for stay extremely central in Paris.

Hotelli oli positiivinen kokemus. Huoneessa oli kaikki tarvittava vaikka olikin pieni mutta kaikkineen kiva kokonaisuus. Internet yhteys toimi riittävän hyvin. Aamiaisen sai ostettua erikseen ja oli todellakin tarpeeksi riittoisa. Huoneeseen ei kantautunut mistään meteliä joten oli rauhallista. Suosittelen hotellia lämpimästi. Huoneen siivous päivittäin oli mukavaa ekstraa.

Vi havde en dag i Paris i transit, og valgte at bo centralt, for at udnytte dagen bedst muligt. Det kostede omkring 50 euro at komme til og fra lufthavnen med taxa hver vej, men vi var glade for det valg, frem for et billigere lufthavnshotel. Beliggenheden var perfekt i forhold til Eiffeltårnet. Værelserne var meget små, men der var rent. Der var hvad der skulle være til en kort overnatning og personalet var venligt og talte engelsk. Vi havde værelse mod vejen men var uforstyrret da gaden er rolig. Vi spiste morgenmad ved en fantastisk bager der lå fem minutters gang derfra.

Thin walls, no elevator, staff with bad attitude, not once in three days did we feel welcome (Roomcleaner people was very nice). VERY small rooms and bathrooms. Internet was ok, location is also ok. But it stops there, no more visits to Malar again.

Vi åkte på en weekendresa och hotellet var helt OK. Du får var du betalar för. Rummet kändes litet men det funkade, vi spenderade ej mycket tid där heller. Fungerande TV. Badrummet var också OK, man fick tvål, dush&schampoo och det fanns hårfön. Vi valde detta hotell pga läget, vilket är centralt och väldigt nära till Eiffeltornet och Busscentralen. Runt om fanns cafeer, supermarkets, bagerier, restauranger, en Irish pub och flera klädbutiker. Väldigt mysigt område. Vi promenerade till alla andra turiststattraktioner också utan problem. Rekommenderas.

Hotelik jest bardzo mały i ciasny, ale to chyba generalnie urok Paryża. Mimo to hotel zasługuje na dobra ocenę, bardzo dobra obsługa, czystko, dobre wyposażenie i świetna lokalizacja w cichej alejce tuż przy wieży Eiffla. Polecam!

Jeg anbefaler Hotel Malar for alle som ønsker et rent og billig, men ikke har noe imot et enkelt opphold. Eneste minus er mangel på heis, så tung koffert kan bli et problem. Resepsjonsbetjeningen var alltid blid og hjelpsom og wifi gratis og rask. I tillegg er beliggenheten sentral i forhold til en del vktige severdigheter (Eiffel tårnet) og museer (Musee d'Orsay og Musee du quai Branly). Veien til metrostasjonen La Tour-Maubourg er spekket med fine butikker og strøket har cafeer og restauranter for enhver smak.

Lugnt hotell centralt nära Euffeltornet och andra sevärdheter. Trevlig och hjälpsam personal.

Bonne emplacement de l'hôtel pour visiter Paris (Invalides, musée Rodin, tour eiffel). Chambre petite. Attention à prévoir gel douche. Bons restaurants environnants.
