Jim and Mary are gracious hosts and go above the mark to see that their guests are treated like family. I will find an excuse to visit with them again The Inn was immaculate, the service was warm and the grounds were pristine. There is no reason to consider any other Inn. From home cooked breakfast to wi-fi all our needs were met.

Excellent accommodations, friendly owners, meticulous attention to details and very nice appointments to every room. Only 2 negatives: no tv in room and mattress was a bit uncomfortable. Overall very satisfied and will return for pleasure not business.

A great place for a week or weekend. Hospitable owners/staff, Terrific breakfasts, Homey Atmosphere, Comfortable Rooms. Good value.

A charming place to reside when visiting the Connecticut coast. More personal than any hotel , this guest house has a genuine feel and atmosphere that you will remember. Staying here adds pleasure to your holiday.

I am originally from New England and have stayed in my fair share of B&Bs. On a recent trip we had an opportunity to stay at Captain Stannard. It turned out to be the best part of the visit! "Inn" does not do justice to this place. It has beautiful rooms that make you feel more like you are staying with a relative than anything else. You also have spacious livingroom spaces with fireplaces, game rooms and an amazing back porch that spans the length of the Inn that is perfect for enjoying your morning coffee. But that is just the start. You won't find your standard muffin basket and juice at this B&B. You get a full course home cooked breakfast like pineapple upside down french toast...country ham, homemade breads and more! Now even though this country Inn is listed as a B&B it has all the amenities and modern conveninces of home. Each room has its own bathroom with towels that smell fresh out of the dryer and you even have cable TV and wireless internet access. I certainly enjoyed using my laptop on the back porch while having coffee. Your hosts Jim and Mary are delightful and you often find little hand written notes with a special home baked treat in your room daily. You immediately feel like family. Thanks again! Tom & Bruce

Liked the hotel very much. The service was great and the room very nice and comfortable. The hotel does not provide shampoo, lotion etc. Wish I had known that in advance. Each day a wonderful treat was left in our room (brownies and lemon bars). The breakfast was good, too. Highly recommend and would return there again.

Old style, personalized service and cooking and unique breakfast. This is an impressive wooden hotel in New England style, with beautiful old details and great rustic wood panels. Large porch and pretty garden. The only pity is that the bed linens are not up to a 4 star hotel standard, we missed a duvet and the pillows are directly uncomfortable. The breakfast is served at 9 o'clock, which is good if you are on a holiday, but not if you are working and have appointments in the morning some distance from the area. The common area contains many rooms and are inviting, and they have good internet facilities and even a printer&scanner. A good place to be.
