Alaska's Select Inn Motel - ואסילה

Ran out of hot water first morning. Worked better to shower at night. Loved the kitchenette. Saved money for breakfast. The suite worked out great. Room needs a chair. Only has a love seat for people to sit on.The staff were great, friendly and helpful. We would stay there again.

Very good. Only issue is positioning the bed so that one person has to climb over a second person to get in and out of bed.

It was great - just what I needed.

My only complaint on the room was the air conditioner noise. It would run normal and then gurggle loudly for a min. Very nice large rooms.

A nice, fairly small motel that is located near the harbor for the cruise tours. It is also within a few minutes driving time from town. Our room was very clean and the tv had many cable channels (including several HBO channels).

No complaints. Convenient to the airport. Reasonable price and good service.

Great basic hotel with large rooms at good value. Location was off the main highway in Wasilla, so we were able to avoid the traffic. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There was a bit of street noise, but not as much as staying in main city. It was still very close to everything.

This motel was an exceptional stay. I had a full kitchen in my room that I wasn't expecting. Everytime I left the room, the staff was cleaning rooms on their hands and knees. Tell me the last time you have ever seen that!

Very good for the price. The walls and ceiling must be thin, the noise from other rooms was very loud. It was clean, and the rooms were nice size.

Very comfortable bed, clean room, spacious , nice kitchenette set-up. I would definitely stay here again if I need a place in Wasilla.

Not a place I would recommend. It's difficult to find. The owners have attempted to provide several amenities but the value is just not there.

Excellent service, quality, cleanliness and comfort. REMEMBER: make sure you know how to operate the diverter bath/shower (or ask a member of staff). The place is rather isolated and if you want to go to some bar/restaurant/store there's nothing in the vicinity.

my only complaint is that we arrived at 10:30p.m. for a late check in and their sign is not lit up. The side street has no lights, lamp posts, etc.. Very difficult to find in pitch dark,however once we got there, it was all great...

I travel quite a bit and this is by far one of the best rooms I've ever stayed in. It's very spacious compared to other rooms. The best part for me was that the room has a complete kitchen. It's a plus for those with longer stays. The location of the hotel is good. It's in a quiet area. It's a few minutes drive to restaurants and stores.

Nice Hotel, some Internet-problems

Situated in a nice, friendly neighborhood, The Select Inn Motel is a small but clean and cozy hotel. The staff is friendly and attentive to your needs and you will rest comfortably. This is not a fancy hotel by any means, but as 'motor inns' go, it is just fine and I would happily stay here again.

Clean. Beds are nice. My shower didnt work-head coming out of wall. No breakfast. Simple-check in is a supply room. Ask fot 1st floor if you dont want to carry luggage up stairs.

We were in the room less than 12 hours before we had to move on and slept well. Room was large, clean and easy in and out. Refrigerator was in the bedroom and was noisy like an alarm clock was the only problem. We tapped it to silence a few times, but it started up again soon. I put sleeping plugs in my ears and was fine.

The room was great. Had a big refrigerator, stove, microwave and kitchen sink. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean and very large. Nice quite residential neighborhood but very hard to find.

OK, noisy upstairs and a little tacky office. Seemed a little like transitional housing.... kept doors locked

The whole experience was wonderful!! The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly! And, the facilities and grounds remarkably clean and neat!! Will stay there every time I visit!!

Pulled up to the location and wondered...by the outside look and location.... what we were getting in to :) It was very clean, staff were pleasant and helpful. I would stay here many times over!

I enjoyed my stay. The evening clerk was very, very, helpful with directions to places to eat, help with coins for laundry, etc. Very friendly! I enjoyed meeting her. People like her lead to repeat business.

We stayed at Alaska's Select Inn for one night on our way from Denali to Anchorage. Room 101 was very clean, comfortable, and spacious. Extras like stove, dishes, and full size refrigerator were not used but could be convenient. In residential area that seemed nice and safe. Some traffic noise but not a problem. Fairly close to main highway, which was convenient for us just stopping by. Only inconvenience for us was there is no public computer for guests. We were traveling without personal computers and our cell phones did not get internet service. A public computer would have been appreciated to be able to check in for our flight out the next morning.

This hotel is fine. My mom and I stayed in it to avoid high Anchorage prices. It was clean and comfortable. There's no elevator, so if you have trouble with stairs or pack too much, ask for the first floor. Don't plan to sleep on the sofa bed - not comfortable. These are more like long term studio apartments, so if you want to prepare meals at home, it's the place for you. If not, then lots of restaurants are within a 5-10 minute drive. Wasilla is pretty easy to navigate, so don't be worried that this hotel isn't within walking distance to anything.

my stay in wasilla was pleasant....the motel outside of wasilla wasa great place....quiet-clean and pleasant...friendly management and staff.It is out of town proper but close enough to everything.

Clean and a good view.

The Hotel was super clean. The room was very comfortable with one exception. The heating was up a little too high. We were able to adjust our heating just fine, but friends staying on the first floor were stuck with an over heated room. The staff could not help with this, and the hotel office was sweltering as well. The second floor room were we stayed was great. There's no elevator, so if you have heavy bags or a lot of bags just be prepared to carry them up a short flight of stairs. Overall the room was clean, inexpensive, and we felt safe there. That's not easy to find in Alaska.

We love it there and I'll stay there nexy year

The hotel is centrally located and the staff is helpful. This is more of an efficiency appartment than a hotel as you have a small kitchen, including a range and full size frig. They have upgraded since our stay last year and have nice flat screen TVs with more TV channel options and internet. I recommend this hotel to budget minded people.

This is a converted apartment building so there is no main gathering area or lobby. But the rooms are spacious and clean. The kitchens are well stocked and the facilities while not particularly well-decorated are functional and perfectly adequate. Most notable was the friendly way in which we were greeted and treated. Overall the place has more of a bed-and-breakfast sort of feel, rather than a hotel atmosphere, so for traveling with a larger group of mostly teenagers, it was perfect: safe, clean, spacious and friendly.

Very hard to find location. Did not answer the phone when I called to get locations. No power in the hotel when I arrived. Had not had any power for two days. No idea when power would be restored. Hallways cluttered with junk. Hallways reeked of cigarett smoke.

the hotel was fine but the clientel was less than desirable there was noise all night long with people going and coming and slaming doors but the hotel itself was clean and modern but probibly would not stay again

It was very comfortable and the staff was very nice and helped us find places to go and recommended the best places to eat and to visit. It was off the main highway so was very quiet.

The room was clean and the "suite" option was a plus. Although the hotel is relatively new, the furnishings are a bit worn. Located in a quiet area. Internet access worked great.

For the premium price, I expected something a lot nicer. The first challenge was finding the Alaska Select Inn Motel. It was located in a neighborhood, and it had no views, no restaurant, and there was nothing within walking distance. It would have been nice to have known in advance that there were no dining options nearby. The building and property had no perimeter security in place at all. Anyone could walk in off the street and come right to any of the room doors. The external doors to the building leading to the 1st floor rooms had a keypad and a sign saying they were locked after 10:00PM, but I arrived after 11:00PM, and they were unlocked. As far as I could tell, they were never locked. The night manager was very professional, and check-in went smoothly. I was assigned a room on the 2nd floor. There was no elevator, and the night manager said no one was available to help with luggage. So be prepared to lug whatever you bring up the stairs. The stairs leading to the 2nd floor rooms were on the outside of the building, and had no access controls in place (i.e., no doors, no cameras, etc.), so anyone could walk in off the street and come right up to the 2nd floor room doors. I did not feel safe staying in this motel, especially after someone came and knocked on my door after midnight, then hid so I could not see them through the peephole. They continued to knock off and on for 30 minutes or so. For the same price as Alaska's Select Inn, the Grand View Inn and Suites had a better location, beautiful views, on-site restaurant, but was sold out for that night. Regarding Alaska Select Inn Motel - the room: The air conditioner in the room was broken, and couldn't even be turned on. The "blackout" curtains were falling off the curtain rods, so the room was too bright to sleep. The sofa, which still had a Goldfish cracker on it from a prior guest, had sagging cushions and worn fabric. The carpet was old and stained. The beds and pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable. The

Was a wonderful find, we stayed in other Motel/Hotels while in Alaska and this was great with all the extras( ie available laundry room, kitchen with dishes, refrig, stove etc, full couch to relax after a day of sight seeing.

Il motel è pulito, la camera spaziosa, la cucina abitabile, il bagno pulito e confortevole. Per essere un motel davvero ottimo!
