Overall, the Congress was good. It was noisy (not the hotel's fault, it's just Miami). And the fold-out sofa was not great for 2 kids, but these are minor issues. The hotel was clean, and the location was terrific if you're not expecting luxury. Paula at the front desk was friendly and helpful, everything you want in a hotel staff member. We'd stay again.

I liked it a lot! I would go back. The only inconvenient was that the Internet never worked and they never fixed it.

Already thinking of booking again this month !!!

Nice & pleasant staff. Room was less nice. No dresser!!! Bed was comfortable. and despite having a room fronting Ocean Dr., the noise was not a significant factor. Shower was handheld and takes getting use to. Plastic couch for old/uncomfortable. TVs may have been 19". There was a nice kitchenette with full size frig & microwave. Besides sleeping we spent little time in the room. Hey you're in SoBe. Don't let the rating sway you. Good location

I would definitely stay there again next time. Maybe in a room with the ocean view for sure.

I've been to South Beach and have stayed at the Park Central and now The Congress! This time I came with my girlfriend for a 3 night stay. The Congress is well worth the money!!! There are 4 buildings! When the bell boy took us to our room, the outside appearance of our building was not appealing but upon entering our room, we were astonished! SO BEAUTIFUL!! MODERN! PERFECT! We stayed in the Junior suite which had a kitchen(stove, fridge w/ freeze, pots, pans, plates, utensils, etc) a living room area, bathroom with a big tub and a plush bed! The room also had a balcony! The main building has a rooftop pool with a bar which we enjoyed very much! The location is PERFECT! Right in the middle of Ocean Dr!! I HIGHLY recommend staying here!

So Beach is tremendous and these refurbished hotels fun but the internet was not working, no water one morning, and you are paying a lot of money for the location. Don't forget the resort fee and expect to pay $25 per day to park.

This hotel is located on the heart of south beach on 10th & ocean right across the street from the beach and located near many restaurants and bars. if you're going to enjoy south beach and hang out this is a place to stay. the rooms are decent but you barely spend time in your room. the front desk weren't the most friendliest except the guys. if you stay here you wont need a car. My room also had a kitchen where i bought groceries a few blocks and made breakfast. overall you get the south beach exp. , very convenient , comfortable room with kitchen.

Ocean front suite overlooking ocean dr, service was okay, can be better. Prime location, room was huge, separate seating area so as able to host a few friends for drinks. Huge balcony.. Great spot, did the job for my spring break wknd

Terrible front desk service (plan on waiting!) and lots of hidden fees you won't find out about until you get your credit card statement. Plan on paying for someone to take you outside of the hotel to find your room (just in case you venture out to find it yourself they have conveniently locked a gate with a key code that the front desk doesn't give you! And don't forget the resort fee of $12.50 per day per person! Parking is $35./per day. Quickly adds up to $100 extra per night. The hotel is in a fun and rowdy neighborhood and convenient to the beach, people watching, and sobe nightlife. We went with our kids (6 and 8) for two nights and had a good time. I wouldn't go back to the same hotel after the service and fee games they played. It felt like a scam.

It was great for 4 people. We loved how we were right smack dab in the middle of everything and just across from the beach. Loved even more the view from the top of the hotel pool and bar area. Def recommend this place.

The place was great, and the room was even better. While not much to look at outside, the interior was excellent (and the bathtub/shower combo was one of the best). We had noise issues and two little kids and the customer support was more than we could have ever expected. We'll definitely be back at this hotel in future visits. Right across from the beach, above great dining too.

Perfect location for enjoying SOBE's nightlife. Can be very noisy til 3am.

Incredible location , yes it's loud but it is south beach. It's why you're there. Get a room with a balcony if you can, you won't be disappointed. Almost unheard of on this strip of ocean drive.

The hotel was so bad we left early. There are many fees besides $35 valet that took 20+ mins. and resort charge that are a surprise upon check-in. It costs $25 if you don't return all room keys and $100 if you check out early among other things. Hotel manager was arrogant and not helpful about our room even though I had requested quiet room on reservation. There was loud music from restaurant below, car horns & sirens until 2am. The next day we switched rooms and was quieter, but the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on - barely a sofa bed mattress. Couch was extremely uncomfortable too. You could feel bar supporting the thin cushion on both. The bathtub faucet had a major leak, you could see crumbs at the base of cabinets, something nasty was spilled on the floor and our room wasn't vacuumed on second day. It was worth the $100 penalty to leave this hotel and stay at the Marriott.

Funny how everyone points out the noise issue. Well, duh. The Congress Hotel is a decent spot. The rooms are big with a kitchen and dishwasher. I had some issues that I pointed out to the staff upon check-out and they were very cordial and apologetic. They waived my resort fee and took care of some honor bar stuff. My main complaint was a crumby fitted sheet on the thin mattress that would peel up at night. One morning I awoke with my face on raw mattress. Eeew. I think that Congress is trying to do better. If you have some earplugs, give them a chance.

Service was bad, the room I paid extra for wasn't available (I wasn't reimbursed though), the room I was put in was not clean, had no wash cloths, 1 towel, no minibar and smelled like mold! The key to my room wouldn't work and I had to continue to walk back and forth to get new ones and finally- when I called for valet to bring the car so we could leave- it took 30 minutes! I stay in Miami quite a bit but I will NEVER stay here again.

Congress Hotel South Beach, ocean front, walking distance to all varieties of entertainment, all the staff were on point. This was our fourth trip to South Beach. I like to stay at different places; there are many to choose from. We were not disappointed here and recommend this Congress as long as you can handle the party music playing all night. Do it!

PROS: Really nice beach hotel, with a great location - feet away from all the SoBe nightlife. Watch the sunrise from the beautiful rooftop pool, you will NOT be dissapointed! CONS: However, upon arrival we were surprised with whole range fees, for valet parking (only parking option), service fee (for the "complimentary" champagne at check-in), city fee, among others...Be prepared to spend twice as much as the booking price in extra fees if you chose this hotel. Overall the PROs outweigh the CONs of this hotel. The added fees is the price you pay for a decent, clean Ocean Dr hotel overlooking the atlantic ocean, and surrounded by top sobe restaurants, bars, shopping, etc.

At first we were impressed with location. Right by the beach and all the restaurants. However, it was also next to an outdoor club which played loud music till 4am. We are a young Manhattan couple who is used to NYC noise. But this was ridiculous. They also allow non guests at their tiny pool which brings in a lot of riff raff, aka Florida trashy people. On Saturday they brought in a house DJ at the pool that played music so loud that we left and went to the beach. Also, who still listens to House music? Oh yeah, Florida trash. Also, avoid this area in general on Ocean ave. all the restaurants serve the exact same food and haggle you to eat at their restaurant as you walk by. Very annoying.

Excellent, good rates, helpful staff and great location.

There are a ton of pros about this hotel. The location is great - literally in the middle of a ton of restaurants and bars. You can valet park but since we got in late in the evening, were leaving the next morning, and it wasn't a weekend, we parked it ourselves across the street for some minimal meter parking fee. Our room was comfortable and large enough with the stated amenities on the website (e.g., coffee maker, refrigerator, t.v., air conditioning, and even cooking burners). The rooftop pool and view are fantastic and really add to the appeal of staying there. Nice staff who seemed to be hard at work. The one big con about the place is a big one! I knew there was the possibility of street noise given the location, but I didn't expect to experience noise from the building itself. We must have been next to their generators or some other large machine, because throughout the night, there was a really loud rumbling noise coming from outside and in the walls. It's hard to explain, except that it can be incredibly annoying if you're a light sleeper like myself and not to mention 6 months pregnant. Since we got this room with a discount through hotels.com and our stay there was so brief, I could get over the occasional sleep disturbances. However, if I were staying there for more than one night, I'd definitely have to talk to the people at the front desk (who were all really nice and I'm guessing would have been helpful).

This hotel is right in the middle of the action of South Beach, which is good, especially for the price. So it was a good deal but the rooms we had were overlooking an alley and parking garage which, apparently, had an industrial size/sounding fan that ran all night. I guess that's what to expect in the cheap "seats". We had requested a room not close to the bar/lounge, which it was. The room was roomy and clean although the tub could use a re-caulking. Folks at the front desk were helpful. There was also a fairly reasonable mini bar which included breakfast sandwiches in the refrigerator which could be heated in the in room microwave and were pretty tasty.

For the money - this place was great. Right on Ocean drive across from the beach. Great night life. Rooms were modern, clean. No views from most of the rooms as the hotel is a five individual 3-story buildings in a row. Hotel front desk staff could have cared less if I was standing there or not. Never got a single smile from any of them. Cleaning staff and Doorman staff were very nice and helpful.

We came to Miami Beach for a romantic getaway we found the Congress Hotel to be good in terms of ratings and location. Unfortunately once you got to the hotel we had to wait eight hours to get into our room as we could not check in to our room until 4 o'clock I thought that was unheard of. Then I thought the price that we paid was the total price but they added on a bunch of fees. The pool was nice With a great view of the ocean and the beach. The surrounding neighborhood was great although it is very loud if you're trying to get to bed early. Overall I would say it's great for the room and the location and the pool but other than that it is overpriced the service is terrible and you will find that they'll buckle and dime you.

Hotel was GREAT. located in the center of everything. Very clean. Pleasant staff. Only downside is I arrived at 11am and had to wait til 4pm to check in

Great location, right in the center of S Beach action. Terrific beach access and chair/towel service. Roof top pool has awesome view. The room we had looked like a studio apt. Spacious and would work for an extended stay if needed. We arrived at 1AM. They had our reservation, but said they had no rooms and would call around to find us one. We were there for the BCS Championship, so it was very crowded. I told the front desk person that I didn't want to move to another hotel and pay $600/night. Not too mention the cab ride and distance to location. After that, amazingly, an available room appeared. I find that strange. However, they were very nice during this time and our conversation was never heated, it was calm. We enjoyed the location...beach, restaraunts, and night life. Be warned...the Clevlander was next door to our building and it is VERY LOUD. Music until 4:30 am. The 3 mornings we were there, between 8-10 am, there were incredibly loud street sounds...garbage pick up, loud banging, glass breaking. This hotel is for partying and nothing else. We enjoyed the stay, but the event we were attending made the getaway fantastic and easy to overlook the flaws. Be warned, it's LOUD.

We thought the hotel was nice - the room was large, clean and modern, and the location was great in terms of access to restaurants/beach/etc. However, the room was extremely loud. We could hear the noise from the Clevelander until 5am, but the worst noise came from either A/C units or some kind of generator that was running early in the morning (from 6am on, or so). It sounded like the building was being power washed. Definitely too loud to sleep through.

This hotel is such a gem! It's in the center of everything! And the rooms are spacious and the tub is so big. I took a long bubble bath in there lol. It may get noisy at times but that's just South Beach. The front desk is so helpful and the rooftop pool has such a great scenery of the ocean. definitely got a great deal and will probably stay there next time I'm in Miami.

I stay in hotels often. strong hotel with good service. I was worried because there are dives in the area. this wasn't one.

Room was nice with deep tub and various amenities like fridge. In an age of flat screen TVs I was surprised that our room had one about 12" across on the diagonal...so tiny. But, we were here for the beach anyway so no problem. Actually I found ocean drive not to be so interesting, but other nearby parts of south beach quite nice.

I stayed here with my boyfriend and two friends for two nights after our Caribbean cruise. Get a front-facing room--the view is AMAZING!--and prepare for fun times, but little rest. The hotel is located right in the heart of south beach, so you're right near the clubs and bars, but you're also right near their noise, and it doesn't let up until about 4 am. Still, great view, HUGE room, full kitchen, free towel and chair service at the beach in front, and a rooftop bar/pool in the main building. OH and the service was truly spectacular. Thanks Congress Hotel!

it was a great location and the bell guys were GREAT but we booked a king size and recieved 2 double otherwise it was a fun time

That hotel was in a great spot on Ocean Drive, but it had it's problems. The power didn't work on one half of the room, the biggest window in our room didn't have blackout shades so the super bright lights from the parking lot next door were shining in our room and there was a ton of noise in the alley behind the hotel starting at 7 AM. Not the best option if you want to get some rest at night.

I enjoyed such accommodation while I stuck in Miami due to Sandy. By the way, bell boy Brian is a very hard worker and I do give him a credit. Big one/

I guess it is my fault for booking a room in this area, but the partying and loud music ended after Midnight on a Thursday, I would hate to see how late they run on weekends. Parking is a pain, around the corner at a public garage. Bring really good earplugs.

The Good: great spot, comfortable room, nice views from side balcony room, quiet room on the side of the building, great roof top pool, great bathroom, nice mini bar, nice kitchenette. The Not So Good: hard to find lobby, slow elevator, poorly trained staff, shower controls are touchy, poor pool side bar which cant charge to room or credit cards, undisclosed resort fee, windy pool with shadows. ..... All in all, I'd stay here again.
