The hotel is really nice and the attention was incredible

A little tough to get to, but everything in Costa Rica seems to be tough to drive to. The roads can be narrow, winding and rough. But this place was a real gem and all the staff are wonderful and nice. We really enjoyed our stay. The pool, beach, and nearby attractions are wonderful. Really can't say enough about how nice the staff are.

Arenas del Mar took our breath away. We only stayed there a few nights because of the cost but it was the highlight of our trip. The rooms were great and the service was wonderful. The staff really went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay there. The private beach is a real gem and guests can access a second beach and walk to downtown Manuel Antonio if they want. The only negative comment is the fact that we had to take a taxi to get to and from town, but it was not expensive so we wouldn't let that deter anyone from staying there.

Absolutely amazing hotel, very relaxing and clean. The service was great and food was always fresh and delicious. The suites closer to the beach are perfect for family with kids. We had a low floor suite with ocean view and it was perfect with the outside jacuzzi. We all enjoyed it.

Spent 3 nights at this great resort. Room was a bit small but the outdoor patio with sink and bar fridge is where we spent our down time. Resort was on the mountain but our room was right on the beach. Staff would pick yoou up on a golf cart and take you anywhere you had to go on the resort. this was an exceptional resort and I look forward to returning.

Truly a well designed beautiful resort. With Ocean on one side and the secondary forest on the other, it is a very restful and tranquil place to stay. They have their own private beach and beautiful shady trees where you can spend your whole afternoon eating lunch and enjoying the views...And the hospitality was amazing. Everybody knows your name and are concerned about your comfort. Very charming staff. Loved this resort very much.

Luxury amenities, ideal location, superlative service. The ONLY hotel in M.A. w/ DIRECT BEACH ACCESS. Other hotels provide "shuttles" and bring you to the busy center of town for beach access. At Arenas you don’t need to pack to go to the beach! Its beach is the northern end of the long chain of beaches, pristine and quiet. Request the section hotel Playitas beach. The hotel has 68 rooms, and a staff of nearly 100, facilitating CONNECTION. You get to know cart drivers, waiters, tour guides, and receptionists who share their knowledge and love of country. You’ll get to know about their families and dreams for the future. On the free tortilla tour, naturalist Roger took us to the outdoor staff cafeteria to make tortillas with staff Mama Dona Lisa. We sat with her, Roger , and other staff members. When we checked in, my husband mentioned he likes tamales. Our host said tamales were not available. One afternoon after a day on the beach, we returned to our room, and in our refrigerator were four gorgeous tamales! Everyone is a naturalist. We asked waiter William what type of tree we were sitting under. He identified the almond tree and bent down and picked up three big seeds - one immature, one maturing, and one with an almond inside! With perfect location, impeccable service, new friends, and learning about the environment, relaxation naturally follows. Our stay at Arenas del Mar was perfect. It’s THE hotel of choice in Manuel Antonio.

I've traveled extensively and have stayed in the best hotels worldwide. I like authentic experiences. Arenas delivered - it's true to the rainforest and beach atmosphere with it's layout, design and architecture which seamlessly fits into the beautiful landscape. Perfect in every way for me to experience the best of Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica - eco-chic, great service, character driven, great location, private, incredibly comfortable, quiet, good food. Will def book again in Costa Rica.

Nice recluded resort with beautiful ocean views. However, the Superior Room was very small to accommodate 2 people (for couple guests) - no desk with chairs - making it uncomfortable. Continental Breakfast and restaurant staff were wonderful. Resort offers Free Wireless Internet and free international phone calls!

The Hotel was built into the rain-forest with lush tropical trees and vegetation everywhere. Lots of wildlife, monkeys, sloths, ect... You can relax on beach or pool. You are taken by electric cart wherever you would like to go on the premises. No waiting, you call and they are usually waiting for you when you come out of your room. Staff are wonderful. Only complaint is we couldn't stay longer. Did I mention there's a personal hot-tub on the huge patio.

service was amazing. staff was super nice. golf cart pickup to/from room was awesome and fast. beach is down the hill from the resort, prob not walkable but they drop u off in golf cart. amazing private beach, cool views... would def recommend to friends.

The highlight of our trip to Costa Rica was our stay at Arenas Del Mar. I think the biggest key to their success is the amazing staff they have. Each person there made us feel like VIPs, and they were so genuinely kind and wanting to help us. I loved it!! One of them even came to our room to let us know when the monkeys were really near by because we had been wanting to see them. We saw WAY more wildlife on the property than we did at Manuel Antonio Park (I would suggest just skipping that!!!) The park is really convenient to get to - it's a 10 minute walk down the beach. Overall, loved this hotel and definitely recommend it to all my family and friends. Thank you, Elaine, Sergio, Alex, Rodbin, Ariel, Ronny, Pedro, and Yahaira , and the others that I may have forgotten!!!! We miss you guys already!!!

We loved everything about this hotel!! Everyone was so friendly and gracious, always greeting us by our names. The restaurant was wonderful. The easy access to beach and surfing was awesome. The kids especially loved seeing the monkeys, sloths, iguanas hanging out at the property! Fun fun time. Would definitely come back again!

Amazing! We spent three nights here during a 17 day trip to Costa Rica - our honeymoon. Monkeys everywhere, staff was super friendly, the hotel premises were divine. A slice of paradise. Very private and super romantic. Take the nature hike with Roger into the national park. He is very knowledgable and friendly. He genuinely likes nature and we were lucky enough to spot sloths, monkeys, and even a snake! Once again the staff made this trip extra memorable as they were incredible hosts and welcomed us. They are all about the "pura vida". 100% worth every penny. One thing though, the premises is full of steep walks and a taxi is necessary to get to Manuel Antonio proper as well as to Quepos. As for getting around the hotel itself staff is readily drive you around in their many golf carts.

Had high expectations with all the great reviews. They lived up and beyond them all!!!! LOVED everything about this place and wish I could go back every year!

We stayed at Arenas Del Mar for 5 nights for our honeymoon. We flew in late at night...so we stayed in San Jose for one night before making the trip out. It took 2hrs 45min to get to the hotel from San Jose in our rental car. The hotel is amazing - it's right in the jungle..but steps away from the beach. Need golf carts to get around...but once you call them, they come within minutes, so it's not a hassle. (You dont have to tip for each ride) The best part was the food - amazing continental breakfast - gourmet pancakes, french toast, burritos, "typical" costa rican breakfast dishes. We ate at the restaurant one night - amazing too. Happy hour everyday from 6-7pm at the bar (which closes at 10pm) - the drinks were amazing too. The area is great - drive up a steep hill, and you have world class restaurants just 5 minutes away driving (Kapi Kapi, Rafaels Terrazco, Salsipuedes). The place is just 10 min driving from a great national park - manuel antonio - and also 10 min away from awesome zip lining ($60 per person), and 15min driving away from a must-do mangrove forest boat ride. You must stay here!

Where else can you sit on a private beach, stay in a 5 star hotel and see monkeys on property!!! Great place to stay!

We had an amazing time in Costa Rica and Arenas del Mar was completely amazing. The staff was incredibly attentive. The property is in a great location and loved going to the beach. They took care of all of our needs.

This was a beautiful hotel. We loved our room, bed, tico bar, the beaches (which were so close and easy access compared to many other hotels in the area). The staff was so nice, all of the time and very helpful with tours. We would go back tomorrow if we could. the shower and comfy beds were outstanding. And the dinners in the evening were wonderful. Very tasty, gourmet meals. Only thing we didn't cre for was the "romantic dinner" meals at the Playitas beach one night. They were quite disappointing ...wished we 'd had eaten in the main restaurant again that night.

The hotel is located in a beautiful setting that has preserved the surrounding environment. Rooms are comfortable and clean, the food is superb, and the staff could not have been better. We reported a maintenance problem in our room and we were moved to a new room within minutes. The beach allows for a long walk. The evening happy hour was a nice way for the guests to mingle.

This beautiful 5 leaves, 4 star hotel is one of the most amazing I've ever seen regarding the property, the service and views. Our room was a few steps from Playitas beach (private hotel beach) and got to see some monkeys passing by. Manuel Antonio park is only a 10 min walk through the beach. Food is absolutely spectacular! Loved this place, would definitely be back ASAP!

great hotel stunning situation in the rainforest yet on the beach - perfect!. The staff are so friendly and the food at the beachfront hotel is delicious! Quite a surprise! Our kids loved travelling on the buggies to and from parts of the hotel, and spotting lizards every time we left our room. Great place to stay would thoroughly recommend it!

Excellent location, food and service. Only drawback would be the price...

This hotel is incredible. The employees of Arenas Del Mar are very attentive to every detail. They are all very knowledgable about their country and the green efforts put forth by this hotel. The semi-private beach here is beautiful. We have nothing bad to say about our experience at Arenas Del Mar.

Excelente ubicación, puedes disfrutar de la playa y el bosque a la vez, el contacto con monos, perezosos, mapaches y demás animales es casi garantizado. Las habitaciones son de alta calidad con vistas exquisitas del océano!

Al hotel no se le puede pedir más ¡Hasta con llamadas internacionales gratis!. El parque de Manuel Antonio es, sin embargo, el timo de la estampita comparado con otros Parques Naturales de Costa Rica. Parece la Calle Preciados de Madrid en época de rebajas. Las Playas son muy bonitas.
