Comfort Suites Elgin - אלגין

I loved the hotel, stayed here before. It's very clean, very comfortable and the staff is very friendly. We did have a bad experience with some other guests being very rude, loud and obnoxious., slamming doors, knocking on the doors at 2 and 3 in the morning. The Hotel manger went up and spoke with the other visitors immediately after I called him. As soon as he left, the people came back and started doing it again. Also the same group of people came down in the morning and kept eating all the breakfast that the staff would put out. The staff in my opinion did a great job of trying to deal with the people, they were very rude people. Otherwise I liked the hotel. Just a bad stay, no sleep, no breakfast.

Clean rooms, nice breakfast, good location. Refrigerator didn't work in first room and no maintenance person available but staff quickly put us in new room right across hall so convenient to move our belongings. Overall a good night.

Never stayed at a Comfort Suites before ~~ basically an oasis of tranquility surrounded by an ocean of road construction. Something this quiet and peaceful only 1 hour west of metro Chicago is kind of a miracle. Lovely people in the kitchen and at the front desk. My 3 days there were as part of a family funeral and this hotel was a refuge.

Probably one of the cleanest hotels I've stayed at.

The room was very spacious. Comfortable beds and good price. Highly recommend it. Will choose this hotel again.

We spent four nights here and were unfortunate enough to get a room on the second floor terrace overlooking the lobby. Every sound in the lobby made its way through our door and kept us awake until we asked the front desk staff to see if they could quiet things down. We were also disappointed that the hot tub did not work, the room temperature was stuck at an unpleasantly warm 74 degrees, the sofabed was sagging and missing springs, and the maid failed to properly stock our room once with coffee and enough towels. It was a good value, but we are likely to look at other options before booking in the future.

This hotel is a great place to stay and it really clean and close to great bars and hang outs. I cant wait to stay there again.

The staff at this hotel were really nice and the service was wonderful. When they learned that my mom had passed away they did everything they could to make my stay better. While we were out, they made us a little basket full of goodies which was greatly appreciated and showed that they cared!

Excellent value for the money. Clean and good service.

All aspects of my hotel stay were very nice. The room was very clean and quite elegant for the price. The room was very neat and clean, almost new condition. The staff was very helpful and even let me stay into the early afternoon without charge because of travel delay. The area is very safe with lots of new restaurants and stores within 5 miles. I'll be back again!

Nice hotel for the price. Breakfast iffy and free Happy Hour as advertised on this site is ONLY Mon-Wed....they should clarify. Overall comfortable room again for the price. Very close to shopping, night life and food, all walking distance.

Staff was very nice. Room was clean and comfortable. Happy Hour had a nice light meal included which was very good. Breakfast was very good also. The only wish I had was that there would have been 2 treadmills in the fitness room instead of one. However, overall I was very pleased and will plan on staying there again the next time I am in town.

We were only here one night and had very little interaction with the hotel staff, therefore I could accurately rate the hotel service. As for the accommodations, however, we were more than satisfied. The room was spacious and clean. The beds were extremely comfortable. There was a nice little counter in the room that had a microwave, coffee maker and mini fridge. We were traveling with a newborn and I was worried about bottles and space for her bassinet. This was the perfect hotel. Also, the location was ideal, right off of interstate 90 and only 10 minutes away from our friend's house. I read other reviews that said the adjacent bar/restaurant (The Tilted Kilt) was a 3am bar and they couldn't sleep during their stay because of the noise level. I simply requested a room on the other side of the hotel and we had no problems at all. I'm not sure if it would have been a problem if we were on the other side of the hotel or not. Comfortable, clean and convenient... great hotel.

I was very pleased with our stay at Comfort Suites, I was pleasantly surprised to see the room was very nice, comfortable, and clean, considering the low price! The hotel seemed to be a newer building, everything was fresh and clean. The staff was very friendly, the complimentary breakfast was good, and the kids loved the pool! The location was nice, lots of nearby shopping and great restaurants! We came to the area to be close to Thomas Day Out @ the IL Railway museum, and will stay again there next year! Extremely pleased with our stay!

Rooms were nice, had lots of choices in walking distance to eat. Only had 1 issue... Room was sold by hotels.com as 2 QUEEN beds and sofa bed. Queens were really FULL SIZE... If I wanted that, I could have stayed elsewhere claiming the truth (full sized beds) and spend $30 a night less..

The hotel is new, clean and has a friendly and helpful staff. We will stay here again for sure. The surroundings felt safe and the area was quiet except for the odd motorcycle. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and well appointed. The included breakfast had enough variety to satisfy and the waffles were excellent. (Don't forget to spray the waffle iron before pouring in the batter - have consideration for the staff that have to clean it and the next guest who has to wait). If sightseeing in Chicago, take the train but be sure to get a schedule ahead of time. We missed our train, drove our two cars and parked them in downtown Chicago ($37.00/car for the day). The 90 minute boat cruise was well worth the $28.00/person. The seven of us took a water taxi to Navy Pier for another $28.00 ($4.00/person one way) total but we all crammed into a regular cab on the way back for only $6.00 total. We had bumper-to-bumper traffic on the way back to the hotel. Must have the Chicago hot-dog again but next time will definitely take the train and try to make our stay between a Monday and Wednesday as those are the only days the hotel offers a Happy Hour including snacks and cocktails.

TV set in teh room did not work - we only realized this after unpacking our luggage. Too hard to pack all of our clothes so we just went to bed early. When we pointed thi sout to the front desk person in the monring, he did not say anything or express concern about this issue. Our room was quite close to a restaurant & pub. This place closed down at 3: 00 AM and the patrons were partying up & were loud all the way to closing time. We got very little sleep that night. If you decide to stay here, make sure your room faces the front of the hotel!

Nice, new hotel. Staff was very attentive and the evening drinks and food was a treat.

The hotel itself was great! No complaints there. However, it is across the street from a large bar. Twice in the night we were awakened; once by loud music from a car in the parking lot and then around 3:15 am after the club closed at 3:00 by loud patrons.

Great location for getting out to the Illinois Railway Museum (IRM) and 5 minutes to the train for Chicago. Beds were great and you could open the window... haven't been able to do that for years. Staff was very informative and welcoming. Would definitley stay here next time I go to the IRM.
