The hotel was adequate , the rooms were clean however we got a smell of stale smoke in our bedroom even though it was non smoking. The beds were very comfortable but the fittings in the room lockers and dresser were shabby. the breakfast in the morning was not worth ten euro and the hot breakfast was cold also there was very poor selection if you did not want a fry. Overall I was disappointed with the hotel and would not consider it a four star rating

Staff was friendly and the hotel bar was a great place to unwind. Hotels located within walking distance to many wonderful pubs and the House of Waterford. Rooms were spacious.

Parking garage very tight with plenty of sharp-edged pillars. I managed to damage my car - my own fault ... but...

The hotel was nice, however there wasn't much happening in the area at the time when we went so nothing really happens at night.

This hotel is in a good central location, offering good food & levels of service.

This was a nice clean hotel, but hotel parking very limited. We had to use the public parking so we had to pay to park. Otherwise, enjoyed our stay.

I was extremely dissapointed with my stay. The Fitzwilton advertises itself as a four star rating, having spend two previous nights in Hotel Kilkenny I was shocked by my room which was small dark and dingy. Furthermore there were no shower hats, face cloths and there were hairs in the bath. The carpet throughout the hotel looks cheap and frayed and they did not have a spa or leisure centre on site. Moreover guests are asked to sign a no smoking policy when they check in which I feel is unfair as this is quite dictatorial and not made clear when you are booking your room. Overall I was very dissapointed as I would have rated the hotel a two star. Hotel Kilkenny provided dressing gown, slippers a huge room with a patio door all of which I got at €40 per night.

delighted with absolutly everything!

I stayed here for one night as I was attending a Christmas party closeby. The room was lovely and quiet so I could have a nap before heading out. Hotel is lovely and welcoming and I got free parking underneath, although I believe the parking is limited. Breakfast served in bed was lovely and much needed the morning after. I would stay here again.

Very nice hotel, great location, very quiet in my room. I booked a single room and it must have been the box room. Very little space in it but it served its purpose.

Small hotel, no pool or gym, patchy wifi. Rooms are modern and clean but small. Car park is akin to a driving challenge. Ok for a short business stay but there are better hotels in Waterford for leisure.

Use somewhere else

Hotel staff were very courteous, the hotel was clean, the food both for dinner and breakfast was excellent, the bed was a bit hard but that is my only complaint

Parking close by and the hotel was easy to get to. A 15 minute walk from Waterford Crystal.

My two friends and i had a very enjoyable stay in the Fitzwilton. The standard of service was excellent as was the standard of room furnishings ,linen and towels being of a very high quality. The only complaint we would have had was at the very beginning . We arrived at three for check in ,the time specified on our reservation , but did not get our room for at least another hour. The reason given was that the hotel had been full the night before but as check out is at 12am it was difficult to see how rooms could not have been ready. However we quickly forgot any irritation when we encountered the friendliness and helpfullness of the staff ,the comfort of our room and the superb breakfast served. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to friends.

We were booked into a double room and it was much too small and stuffy for such a modern hotel

in good location...friendly reception staff. comfortable rooms.bar service was only average, lots of dirty empy tables.

Our Hotel room was spotless, it had every thing we needed for the perfect holiday. There was plenty of choice for breakfast, and the meals in the bar and Restaurant were excellent and good value.The hotel location was good , every thing within walking distance, The only down fall was the parking , on one of our evenings , we returned to find the car park was full, but we managed to park in the street opposite so it wasn't a major problem. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family as we found the service to be of a very high quality

I would not recommend this hotel, very little parking and if there isn't any you have to park in a car park in a different street or on the street at a charge. The hotel allows restaurant patrons to park in the car park free of charge which is not helpful as a hotel resident. A single room at the back of the hotel should be avoided as it is very noisy. Also there is no light near the work area so not a great hotel if you have any work to do. Reception staff less than helpful. Large tour groups stay here, so breakfast was extremely noisy and staff obviously very occupied to say so service needless to say was less than efficient. Stay at another hotel at the other end of town.

Sayed overnight in this hotel, was great location to where I wanted to go. Hotel room was not cleaned but they gave us a bottle of wine after we asked them to clean the room. No air conditioning in the room so had to open the window, onto a very noisy main street.

Quality of service very good & staff very pleasant but not happy with size of family room allocated to us . Second child had to sleep on a camp bed.

Hotel is not in a great location and parking is limited. Get there early if you want to park under the Hotel. If not, you have to leave your car over night in a public car park for 5 Euro in an area that isn't the best and then drag your luggage across two main roads to get to the Hotel . Not close to many good Restaurants or Bars. Had to walk some distance to find a decent Restaurant. Breakfast good and room was clean and fairly modern but not a great outlook if that is what you want. Didn't eat there in the evening but it appeared expensive. Lady on Reception was very nice. If visiting Waterford again would probably opt for a different Hotel.

Fantastic hotel, warm friendly courteous staff. Extremely helpful. My stay was only for 1 night but it was memorable. The bed was so comfortable, slept so soundly.

The Fitzwilton Hotel is not in nearly as good condition as the pictures on the website so we felt the price for the quality was not what was expected. They did not have enough spots in their parking lot for all guests, so it's misleading that they have on-site parking, we had to pay to park in a lot up the street. In addition, our room was on a busy major street and as there is no A/C, sleeping with the windows open was very noisy. That said, staff were friendly and the room was clean, mainly just way too expensive for what you got, and we didn't even get breakfast included with our rate.

the hotel is nice not a 4star though.parking is a joke u need to be early as there is only parking for about 40 cars to the 91 room??.saying tat the staff are very good and is within easy walking distance of thing to do and its very well run

the room was quite small but I guess that is typical in Ireland and Europe. I am just not used to it. They had a very nice breakfast and the staff was superb! Very friendly.

Hotel is centrally placed and was easy to find. The meal in the restaurant was excellent in both quality and value for money. The meal we ate in the Met Bar was of equal quality and value. Staff couldn't help us enough from making reservations to giving directions. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. Would recommend staying here to anyone.

This was a nice hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful during our stay. The room was a good size and was very comfortable. Location wise it was fine, only about a 5 - 10 minutes stroll into the city centre. Parking is very limited in the hotel car-park, although you can also park in a high-rise car-park across the road for €3, so it's not too bad. Overall, this is a nice hotel.

The Fitzwilton Hotel is an okay hotel - but based on price relative to other hotels nearby and 4-star rating, it is very disappointing. Rooms were sweltering hot even on a cool October evening with radiator off, which meant leaving window open, which was not ideal when overlooking a very busy and noisy road. There was no fridge even to keep some cold water close at hand. The car-park is very small, with very tight spaces - we were lucky to get a space at all, even early in the day. Room was clean and comfortable enough, apart from the heat.

My room was uncomfortably small, definitely unsuitable for two people despite being sold as a double room.

Two rooms were booked and only one room was available. No explanation was given or available. I spent the following day arguing with staff because the didn't want to reimburse for the room that was not available. Service only improved after talking with the manager but it still took a day another day to get the money. No compensation was given for cramming 3 people in one room.

Great modern hotel with all necessities for a great stay! Very much liked the spacious rooms, and it was a quiet hotel. Perhaps not the most thrilling views from the hotel rooms, but a great spot in Waterford to start from. Friendly staff, and food from the restaurant was really great! Didn't try breakfast but was told by other guests that it was good. Waterford is a nice place for a getaway weekend (combined with travelling around the surrounding areas) and would i go back there, i'd definately chose Fitzwilton again!

We ended up in a room which was specifically suited for disabled persons, which was fine because these rooms were bigger. The location is a bit of the centre but Waterford is not that big anyway. The bar stays open till really late for Irish standards ( until 05:00) great for drinks after a night out. We missed breakfast because it was too late but they still allowed us to ''help ourselves with what was left'' so that was 'grand'.

Pas très bonne impression. La fenêtre de la chambre ne fermait pas bien, avec toute la soire vécue dans l'ambiance du balcon de la résidence d'en face où une femme arranguait les passants et chantait sur sa terrasse. La chambre était vieillote. Mauvais rapport qualité/prix. A éviter.

Ok läge, halvbra service. Däremot en mycket dålig frukost för att vara ett fyrstjärnigt hotell.
