Nice hotel, breakfast food not so good as far as the cooked food

I arrived and was trying to get a meal with no car of my own. There were no takeout menus in the room, and the guy at the desk didn't have much to go by either. Next day, called a cab to leave and was verbally assaulted by the driver regarding my lack of interest in his religion.Like I said, hotel was fine, but the surroundings, not so much...

Very poor location without a car. A fine hotel, and reasonable breakfast. All day coffee/tea. Pool is ok but hot tub is not very hot and no bubbles.

I enjoyed my stay in this hotel. I was in the area to visit family and this hotel was reasonably priced and met my needs. The staff was helpful and the breakfast was good. Access to the hotel was a little tricky, but manageable.

I love this place, I stay here all the time. Indoor pool and sauna, breakfast, clean and even goody bags!!! Convenient to NJ Turnpike and GSParkway, malls, shopping! It's the only place I enjoy laying my head when in town...very nice hotel!!!!!

Very helpful and accommodating

Location, staff, and cleanliness of facility continue to be why we book at the Holiday Inn Express Woodbridge.

Hotel staff has been very good to work with.

We booked one of their suites and it was great. Roomy, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was decent. Our only complaint was with the pool. Small and only 3 feet deep---at the deep end! Other than that, we had a nice stay and would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is OK. Clean,and decent location. I got a room on the street side (US rt 1) and the road noise is quite a lot. if you are used to sleeping in quiet surroundings or are a light sleeper, these rooms are not comfortable. I wont stay in this hotel on my next business trip.

Nice, adequate hotel. Breakfast was a carbohydrate load..... but adequate for price of hotel stay. Excercise room was small but good. The only complaint was a stale odor in the room, and one night it smelled like cigarette smoke, even though a non smoking room. But, overall, a good stay.

I loved this hotel. The lay-out of the lobby and stairway to the second floor felt like I was staying in someone's home. Beautifully and imaginatively done. Also, the breakfast is over-the-top good. Everything anyone could hope for. Hope to return one day.

Pleasant hotel, although we only spent a few hours there.

We have stayed at this hotel many times in the past because it is very close to family that we visit. We stayed 2 nights and then returned a few days later after a trip down the shore. This trip was a bit disappointing... First room had a VERY LOUD air conditioner that kicked on every 3 minutes. I had to where ear plugs to sleep. The next room had an awful odor when we entered and 1/2 of the floor was soaking wet from an apparent A/C unit malfunction. They did accommodate us with a replacement room, though. However, surprised that they did not offer an upgrade for the inconvenience. Very brown bananas one day, no bananas the next, and no hot water for tea on another.

Great service, nice buffet breakfast, comfortable room, great showerhead-felt like standing in the rain (which I like). The ad said "do laps in the pool", but of course it was a very small pool, okay for a quick dip but not long enough for laps. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Loved this hotel. Very clean, saw cleaning staff washing out the drawers on the dresser. Very impressed. Would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel had everything we needed: clean room, small refrigerator and even a microwave! Good size bedrooms and wifi! The hotel also had a small gym and a pool. While we did not have time to use the pool, it's great that is there. The hotel has everything you need and convenient location. The staff members were all very attentive. I would definitely stay there again if I'm in the area.

The location of the hotel is remote hence will have to travel a bit for everything

Good room, reasonable price, conveniently close to Newark airport from the south. Clean, nice touch with the little bag of goodies and water at registration. Access a bit difficult if you haven't been there before because the turnoff from Rtes 1 & 9 is not well marked and is ahead of the hotel. Good front-desk service.

Made my business trip more relaxing.

Great little hidden gem on a main street. Rooms were nicely updated and comfortable. Very welcoming employees. Newspaper, Wi-Fi, and breakfast were all wonderful. Late check-out was greatly appreciated. Ask for a room that faces the back as the hotel faces a busy street. We were so tired, the traffic didn't disturb us at all. Would stay there again. Small indoor pool and whirlpool were a surprise-but had no time to take advantage of it.

THE ROOM MY WIFE AND I HAD IN THIS HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS IN AVENEL, NJ, MUST BE THE ONLY ROOM(213) WITH NO BARRIER BETWEEN THE WALLS. PROBABLY BECAUSE IT HAD ALL THE DRAIN PIPES FOR THE UPPER ROOMS IN THEM! AT AROUND 6 A.M. IT WAS LIKE A WATERFALL IN THE WALLS. AFTER THAT SLOWED DOWN WE WERE NOT SO HAPPILY ENTERTAINED BY OUR 2 LADY NIEGHBORS HAVING A GOOD TIME WITH EACH OTHER! YEP, I SAID IT! IT WAS LIKE WE ONLY HAD A CURTAIN BETWEEN US. BUT, AT 2 AM THE NIEGHBORS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF US WERE ARGUING FOR ABOUT 2 HOURS. COMPLAINT TO THE DESK BEFORE CHECKOUT WENT WITHOUT CONCERN NOR APOLOGY. NO SLEEP, NO COMFORT, NO MORE HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS IN AVENEL, NJ, EVER!

The last night we stayed at the hotel their most of been a party in the room next door we called the front desk they took care of it but I whwnt to sleep at 3:00am.The next morning I spokes to the front desk staff they wanted to give me my money back for the night I had past but they could because I booked my hotel with hotel.ca sow they couldn't do anything for me.A word of advice book directly with hotel if their is a problem they could work it out with you.

My boyfriend and I stayed here on New Year's Eve and attended a party at a local bar. The service at the hotel was excellent. We were quickly checked-in, informed of the hours for the free continental breakfast, and provided a party pack with snacks and water bottles. The front desk was helpful in calling a taxi for us as well. The room was much larger than I expected. Everything was clean and the bed was very comfortable. I would gladly stay here again if the need arises. The only negative is the surrounding area. The hotel is located right on US-1 and not in the most picturesque area, so it is probably best suited for business or visiting people/attractions in the local area.

There are not enough stars for this hotel! The staff was courteous, friendly and efficient. The hotel is new and in in excellent condition. I felt like I was in an exclusive "grand" hotel. It is beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed the "FREE" appetizers and beverages that were available for all guests for dinner. What a special perk. Would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Not far from NYC and yet not paying NYC prices to lodge:) Kid-friendly! Only down falls to me were the pool depth only 3ft and the breakfast seating area was limited. But overall very satisfied with my choice for a great price!

Hotel was clean, and breakfast was good although for the price the food could have been done at a higher quality standard, and they should have been able to provide a crib, witch we requested prior to arriving. We went with the whole family, and were all satisfied.

Lovely and clean. Great decor.Good rates.. staff were FANTASTIC. Pool was a little disappointing (3 ft deep) Breakfast...delicious and plentiful. Great location and accessibility to NYC. Neighbour - outskirts of town. Shopping and restaurants within a 19 min drive. Only negative thing was the distance we had to go to turn around on the highway to access the hotel (not really the hotels fault)

What I like about this hotel... they gave me a free water with snacks in a small bag which I think its cool. Had a good nite sleep!

Okay place to stay. Generic hotel.
