FairBridge Inn & Suites Highland Falls - היילנד פולס

First, overall, I loved this hotel. It is not fancy; a pretty typical old motel-style hotel, but there was something about it that just was perfect for me. While it is older, the room was surprisingly updated and clean. It featured a flat-panel HDTV and had a nice oversized mini-fridge and microwave with a small counter area which I found very useful. The place is quiet and surrounded by the beautiful Catskill Mountains in the idyllic town of Highland Falls. I did have some trouble with making my reservation after 11:00. When I got there, the office was dark and it said late check-ins should get their keys from the mailbox, but nothing there for me. Then, it said to use the phone in a wooden box outside and dial "0" - tried and it only went to voicemail. In desperation, I called Hotels.com who got the owner on the phone. A young guy (family owned) came down and opened up and got me my key, but didn't offer any apology, which I found strange, Still, the staff was cordial enough. I plan to go back.

The hotel was good if I had only paid $50. But no I paid $80 for a night. The continental breakfast was a mix of hot coffee old cereal and little Debbie knock offs. Was turned off by the roach traps in the bathroom. And the beds made me wonder if they had ever been cleaned...the sheets had holes in them. The one good thing was the the room was huge and didn't smell.

Overall it was what I expected based on the other reviews. For the most part it was clean w/ fresh linens, no bugs or anything gross like that. One of the beds was great, the other was a bit saggy - pillows were a bit lumpy. Nice to have a fridge & small microwave in room. We had great wi-fi but heard that some in other rooms didn't. Continental breakfast was basic & fine - bagels, cinnamon buns, toast, cold cereal, yogurt, fruit, coffee, milk & juice. Based on a sign in the lobby it looks like they will be remodelling soon - looks like it should be pretty nice but I'm sure then the rates will go up. Great location near West Point but far enough you need a car to get around.

Surprised us as soon as we walked into our room! Unbelievable, how big the room, and how big the bathroom with the lower price! Especially, the ladies there VERY nice,and VERY thoughtful. I will miss you, Yvonne, the front desk clerk; and Corinna, the manager! Because of you, I would like to come here again. Thank you!!!

Stayed only one night and did not check in until 11:00 pm. Read previous reviews and did not expect too much. The rooms are on the shabby side and in need of renovation, but for the price there is not too much to complain about. Wouldn't recommend for extended stays.

While the Econo lodge was not fancy, our room was clean and the manager on duty upgraded us to queen beds from double beds when we checked in,at no additional charge. There was a free breakfast available with cereal, bagels, yogurt, coffee, etc. Building was clean but could use a little upgrade in decor. However, since we were not staying in the area, arrived late and left in the am, it suited our needs.

For the price is was clean & the bed was confy.Quite too

We knew going-in that we wern't getting an all inclusive, big name, luxurious five star hotel, but we got more than we expected for the price. We were happy with the room, the clean bug-free beds, the easy access, and excellent service. I would stay here again.

The driver reported that he was bitten by bed bugs

The room was clean. The bldg is old with some rust on the bathroom door hinges and other minor things. The mattress is a little old as I could feel the individual springs. Nevertheless, I slept very well and was overall pleased with the room. The price was more than I wanted to pay, but big demand and limited supply for a football weekend meant that to pay less meant staying further away. I would stay there again.

It was a 2 star hotel, and the price quite high. Not clean at all. Cob webs in the bathroom.

An older hotel... but, nice enough for the price. Room was okay. The place could use a face lift, but so could a lot of places. The location served our needs... I'd stay there again.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean and had a refrigerator and microwave. Room was a typical size, but clean. Would recommend for the price and area.

We chose this hotel because it was close to West Point---there was no ice machine the attendent gave me 1/2 of a basket when I asked him---there was a long hair on the bed sheet when we checked in--the stairs leading up to the second floor were cracking and rusted out--almost to the point of being dangerous--for what I paid a night I expected better--there needs to be some competition in that area

Needs rehab, breakfast was stale and with bugs, there was the end of a coffee pot and one baggle left. Staff not friendly! No bed bugs, but shower very noisy and mouldy. Some people seem to live there, strange guys park and stay in their car with loud music. Not worth it.

We found everything as expected. Not a 5 star place, but it was what we expected. Everything worked, no problems encountered and we had a comfortable evening there. That's it!
