This hotel is located in the Giza area of Cairo. It is about 4.5 miles from the centre of Cairo, and about 1.5 miles from the Pyramids. I got an amazing deal through hotels.com for 10 nights. Even though I booked, and got an economy room, it was very spacious, as was the bathroom, and had a fridge. The bed had a lovely firm mattress, for a great nights sleep. The shower had great pressure, with constant hot water. There's a wonderful huge pool, with plenty of sun loungers. The restaurants serve pretty good food at very good prices. Even room service is not at all that expensive. The hotel has its own taxi service, which is still cheap compared to the west. Outside the hotel, cheaper taxis wait, and a price can be arranged for where you want to go. Just around the corner to the right of the hotel on the main road, is a local supermarket. Great for stocking up your inroom fridge with water and snacks, and so cheap. Free wifi is available in the lobby area 24/7. It is rather outside downtown, but I found that to be a blessing. Downtown Cairo is a cheap cab ride away. Or better yet, get a cab to the Giza metro, and take the metro into the city for only one Egyptian pound. I walked to and from the Pyramids several times, about 20mins each way. On two occasions I even walked from Giza metro station back to the hotel. That walk is not for the faint hearted!!

Having visited Cairo on a number of occasions I have to say that this hotel offers the best value for money I have encountered to date. I will certainly return there.

solid hotel, decent location. staff is friendly and the place is clean. tourism in giza/cairo is lagging big time, and it shows everywhere. the whole place has a sad atmosphere, and the hotel was the same. i imagine when the industry is booming it would be a lively place. but, as is, the hotel was clean and fine.there is nothing wrong with the hotel. it just seems a little desolate. the breakfast buffet was lacking though. overall, it does the job and the price is fine. oh, no alcohol. and the tour guide info person in the lobby was very good.

The only thing which you will find useful for this hotel is it's value for money and close proximity to the pyramids. Else this hotel is far from Cairo city center. A big negative for this hotel is its poor customer service ! But not sure if I should complain considering the price I paid for this hotel was not exorbitant.

March 2013, emailed hotel asked for top floor pyramid view room 1513.paid 100LE to get to the hotel from the airport, 30LE to get to the museum or dinner cruise area. hotel charged 100LE to take us to the pyramids and drive us from one pyramid to the other and wait for us while we walked around (took 3 hours) Pyramid experience was spoiled by harassing Egyptians trying to sell anything and everything. best to get a taxi outside the hotel &agree on price before you start. The Pharaohs Cruise was great and the museum has the most amazing display of history. The people in the business center in the hotel were helpful and honest. You can use their computers and pay 30LE for 1/2hour internet access. The food in the hotel was lovely &very reasonably priced 100LE for 2 courses for 2 people. Be prepared for a very 3rd world experience - no police, driving chaos on the roads &litter everywhere. You can wear what you like around the hotel but it is advisable, for women, to cover up outside the hotel - the men will stare and approach you, making you more of a tourist target (to be overcharged for everything) and very uncomfortable. Don't get ripped off by the shops in the hotel - the supermarket around the corner from the hotel (5 mins walk up the main street away from the pyramids) sells papyrus pictures for only 15LE (not the 100 the shop charges) Other shops up that area will charge 30LE for the 3 pyramid figures. Totally awesome experience.

Overall very good value for money.friendly staff. Clean rooms. Good selection of in house food. Night staff could be abit more informative

This resort was a great deal the room was huge, service was good and most of all the pool was the best in the area! The room was very clean and the air con worked to keep the room a very comfortable temp.

Hotel reception has no air conditioning and it was summer , room AC was not working

Interesting hotel: a peaceful hotel in a weird area. Giza is a dirty, noisy and crowded area. Giza is full of life, but the dirt, people, pollution and refuse just get under one's skin. The hotel is a pleasant oasis in the middle of all this, although with the increased urbanization of the local area it is losing its privacy and views of the pyramids; its closeness to the pyramids is maybe not important, as most people will take a taxi anywhere (although you can walk to the main entrance to the pyramids - it takes about 25 mins). One could stay in a downtown Cairo hotel, which will be more expensive but also less noise and dirty surroundings. Food is ok in the hotel, but maybe there could be more local dishes in the restaurants.

Rooms were clean and spacious,restaurant service a bit slow at times,otherwise anice stay.Travelled with 7 year old who enjoyed the camel ride in the hotel grounds

Service in the hotel was quite poor. Breakfast not good and food poor in Italian restaurant. Pool area quite nice, but overall location "under highway" not too attractive if you don't hapen to like heavy traffic next door.

This is an islamic Hotel, the bar is limited to local wine and some imported beer. The property is quite nice, but the Hotel is in front of the elevated Ring Road Highway and an ugly canal. You can easily walk to the main road to catch a local cab, once you escape the hawking of the local cab drivers in front of the hotel. The Hotel has cars with driver available for about 300 pounds or 50 dollars per day, which are very convienent to see the Pyramids and other local sights. A city cab is best to get to the Egyptian Museum and other tourist sights. Breakfast was quite nice, dinner ok, and the prices ok. It was a bit cool, but my room did not have any heating. Other people did have heat in their rooms. Intenet was good, but about 17.00 US dollars for two days, a bit expensive. The Hotel was a good value. Would use it again, but only in the summer.

First of all, the your information on Hotels.com about the hotel was in no way true. None of what you said about the hotel was true. None of the services listed on your site were available. The hotel is located in the worst neighborhood with a elevated freeway right above it and heaps and heaps of nasty trash underneath the freeway and right across from the hotel. Dirt and filth surround the hotel. Guest service at the hotel was horrible and totally unacceptable. I would never recommend that anyone stay there unless they were just wanting a cheap place to stay that is close to the Giza Pyramids.

The room service very slow,it takes almost an hour to bring hot water to my room,never answer .I had to call the manager to bring me hot water.

The room was very comfortable. The amenities were a plus. As a backpacker, I needed a break from the hostel living. I really felt pampered at Grand Pyramids. My only complaint regarding this place is the charge for internet service. A 4 star hotel should have free wi-fi. Even hostels have free wi-fi.

Hotel wasn't as pushy as others indicated (for taxis, tours, etc.), we were completely independent. Service excellent. Room clean for Egypt. Noise from road not as bad as expected. Nice mall a couple minute walk away, with grocery store in the lowest level. Only weird thing is that they did not provide water for breakfast.

The hotel was very nice, in a terrible location and with very expensive alcoholic drinks. The staff were a mix, some were very friendly others (like in the bank) were so miserable it was just plain rude.

Excellent hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. I booked this hotel again after I returned from Luxor.

My thoughts about this hotel are that overall its much better than most top notch places in England, the hotel surroundings are nice, pool area, entertainment hut with shisha pipes and a cocktail bar. The rooms are pretty good but you'll be out most of the time, the only downfall is the shower as it goes from hot to cold. The hotel is close enough to the pyramids and sphinx (about 5-6km) not bad. :-)

We got the overnight train from Aswan to Cairo and highly recommend staying out at Giza ofr your first night in Cairo so that you can seemlessly go and visit the pyramids which are only a 20 minute walk form the hotel down an intersting street. The hotel is a generic 4 star hotel with a lovely pool. Rooms are nice and comfortable with all the services that you'd expect. My one main complaint - as with most higher end hotels - was the cost of the wifi internet connection - 100 EGP or approx 11GBP for a 24 hour period, which is an absolute rip-off. However, the room was an absolute bargain comparatively speaking, so I guess only a minor problem!

We stayed at the Grand Pyramids and found the location good for our visit to the pyramids as well as the proximity to the train station in Giza. The hotel has everything you need which is good since the surrounding area is not welcoming. Dinner was a bit pricey but the food was varied and tasty.

The location is okay only if you are solely going to see the Pyramids. It was about a 10 min. taxi ride from the Pyramids, about 45 min. from the airport, both without heavy traffic. The hotel and the rooms were okay - just outdated - however, the shower water kept turning boiling hot or cold. Breakfast was okay..

This hotel was very good. It is a huge hotel with a very nice pool. Rooms were very large and the price was very good for thia type of hotel. I would recommend it completely. Only thing it is a bit far from the center of Cairo, so it depends on what things you want to visit.

They forgot to pick me up at the airport. When I called them, they said they would look into it and call me back. The receptionist did call back and said I would have to take a taxi there. I had to pay the taxi driver out of my own pocket despite it being the hotel's fault.

Very nice hotel and facilities very close to Pyramids and commercial area. Staff was very helpful. We would stay there again.

We (two adults and two chlidren) have slept one night in Grand Pyramids hotel in GIZA on january 2011. We asked the receptionist for a taxi to see pyramids. He sent me to the taxi service inside the hotel. The man here asked me 20 €. He said, the taxi driver would drive us to the site and show us all the pyramids and the sphinx in a two hours tour. We deal. But the driver stopped at the entry of the site; there were guys waiting; the driver called one of them. His friend wanted us to go in a « far away » building. We refused and he began to be agressive. I gave him some 10 € in order to leave us in peace. But he asked us 60 € more for calling a caleche. I told him it was robbery but he did'nt want to leave us and looked more and more threatening. .Nobody was near So we gave him the money. We were very angry and we told the taxi service in the hotel. He looked surprise (« it's the first time it' happens... ») but he knew what had happened. I think there is tourist rackett in this hotel but it's better not to call Police in egypt... We felt not safely and next day we went quickly to the airport. It doesn't matter, I just lose some money but be careful at giza. Don''t stay here if you are a familly or not in a organised group.

I stayed in the hotel with my family, (two adults and two kids) for one night. The location is far from the airport or downtown or the Pyramids. There is not much close by. Most of the guest that arrive and leave here do so by taxi or organized tour buses. Be ready to shell out 50 EGP (LE) about 8 USD to go anywhere. There is a small mall close by but all they have is clothing shops. There is a small mini-market (grocery store) in the same mall but no restaurants. Other than the location, I loved this hotel. very clean, lots of free amenities. Breakfast is expensive, so make sure it's included in your rate. The Thai restaurant on the premises had good Pad Thai at a reasonable price.

The hotel staff is friendly, although the hotel is located far from downtown Cairo, it is closer to the pyramids. Breakfast was ok, room was comfertable. I lost my luggage on my way to Cario, the hotel staff was very helpful with allowing me calls to the air line office.

During the 2 weeks we traveled in Egypt, we had breakfast in many hotels and trains. The breakfast buffet was by far the BEST at Grand Pyramids. The pool area is very nice, although the water gets warm in the heat of the day. The hotel is located very near a little shopping mall where you can buy bottled water and other drinks/ snacks at Egyptian prices (and not tourist prices). It's not worth using the taxi and/ or tour packages offered by the hotel b/c they are very over-priced and pushy. Walking the short block to El Haram Street is worth it- there you will find taxi's for a better price. Also if you are willing, the minibuses are very inexpensive and will take you by lots of restaurants along El Haram Street. The internet in the hotel business center is convenient; however, it is very inflated from a regular internet cafe. The poolside bar has good and inexpensive dinner options. They offer entertainment (live music, dance, etc) and camel rides every night in the courtyard of the hotel around the pool. The noisy activities tend to wind down around midnight. The 24-hour on-site bank and ATM were very convenient for us. The staff in general was friendly and they all seemed to speak English very well. This was the best 4-star hotel that we stayed at in Egypt.

The hotel was great. This was the second time we used this hotel. It was clean and cheap. The pool was big and clean. The service was good. The breakfast buffet was good. The location was close to the the Great Pyramid. The television had about 4 english channels, which was good. The room was very large. The front desk was very helpful and spoke English. Just request not to be next to the highway, the traffic never died down. The previous time we slept in the inside part of the hotel, and could not hear anything.

Die Pyramiden sind zwar nicht fußläufig zu erreichen, aber wenige Kilometer von der Anlage entfernt. Leider ist das Hotel jedoch mal sehr schön errichtet, nun jedoch durch mangelhafte Pflege auf einem Stand, dass ich das nächste Mal woanders buchen werde.

Muy buen hotel, las comidas variadas, la limpieza de la habitacion excelente, el unico problema es cuando sales a hacer alguna visita los taxis quieren cobrarte demasiado para la distancia que se recorre, y nunca utilizan el taximetro entonces abusan en el precio...pero como siempre Egipto es realmente espectacular....fue mi quinta visita y de seguro volvere

Amei minha estadia, fui muito bem recepcionada desde o primeiro dia, com funcionários atenciosos, na recepção, funcionários da limpeza, serviços de quartos, cozinha, restaurantes e da manutenção em geral. Recomenda este hotel que lembra um resort, com paisagens lindas, ambiente familiar, música ao vivo todas as noites, limpeza em geral, boa comida no café da manhã e restaurante.

The rooms are big and comfortable. The neighborhood is not very good, although there's a good mall for ladies! It's a good deal!
