MICROTEL GASSAWAY SUTTON - Gassaway

Quite literally the only place to stay without having to drive all over West Virginia. The time was great, but the only thing to watch for is slow internet speed, that cuts out once in a while. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was good. Be ready to drive up a steep hill to get to the hotel itself and you may want to mention to the staff to specifically perform room service otherwise they might forget. Great place to crash for a few nights, all-in-all.

The hotel was close to the vicinity in which I had to go. However, there are not any convenient restrauants in the area for breakfast or dinner. Other than that I truly enjoyed by stay.

The hotel itself is up a winding very steep road and sits on top of a high ridge. Not a problem but a surprise! We were surprised that it was the most expensive of the Microtels we stayed in and yet, there was no coffee maker, bar fridge nor microwave, nor pool, like the other Microtels we stayed in. This would make us look for another place next time. However, otherwise, the staff was pleasant and efficient, the breakfast was good and the room was very clean.

The location was easy to get to; right off I-79. The staff was pleasant and the room was tiny but clean. I would not want to stay in a room that small for an extended time, but it suited my purpose just fine.

Fine. Just wish it could be quieter.

I needed a spot for the night, and the place was nice, clean, attractive. Fortunately I had dinner up the road because there's not much else at that exit. Arriving in the dark, I had a hard time finding the place. But it was a good deal, a pleasant (small, European style) room, and I would stay again.

Exceeded our expectations. This was our first Microtel and we'll stay at more!

Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was just ok, but adequate. Staff was friendly. I would stay here again.

Was clean & friendly. Small rooms, but was all we needed. Could hear everything through the walls, but would stay again for the price & cleanliness.

Overall, the stay was sufficient for our purpose. It would be nice if there were microfridges in each room. The hotel is located atop of a very steep drive and in a location close to I-79, but nothing else. It should have been built 5 miles farther north where the majority of the restaurants and the lake access are.

room was exellent condition. it was clean both days we were there. location was good, pizza hut right off the hill and it was between gassaway and sutton. although saturday morning when we went to get breakfast there the other hotel guests were very rood and inconsiderate.

check out was confused with someone else. caused some problems

Overall very good

Room was moderately small (think european), a little too many mirrors, and tub a little high but was clean and bed was relatively comfortable. Price was reasonable. Location was good to the conference center I was attending trainings in.

THese hotels are the best "bang for the buck" if you like modern style. We do and we love Microtel. The room was laid out better than any other hotel we've ever stayed in and we've been in 100s in the last few years.

This was my second stay at this location and as with the first every aspect of the stay was excellent. Good service, clean rooms, good breakfast. One could not ask for more.

We picked this hotel because of its location, about four hours from our home, which is as far as we figured we could drive after work the day we left. This hotel is near one end of a stretch of I-79 that has almost nothing off the highway. Since there are not a lot of choices in the area, we were quite pleased with the condition and operation of the hotel. The staff was quite competent, the room was clean and breakfast was fine (not as fancy as some free breakfasts, but it was certainly adequate). The room of course was quite small, but it is exactly what you need if you are "passing through." The only gripe I have (and it's the reason I did not give the condition of the hotel a "5") is that the sound insulation between floors is not good, and we could hear nearly everything the people on the floor above us did. Fortunately, they went lights-out about when we did. We would certainly be willing to stay there again.

the trip was business and Leisure. Everything was just great, the room next door was noisy one night but nothing you can do about that. i travel alot and i have a priority card. but my stay at microtel was very good and cost alot less, I will remember that when i book my next trip.

THIS IS AN EXCELLENT LITTLE MOTEL. WE HAD A WONDERFUL, COMFORTABLE EXPERIENCE, AND WILL DEFFINATELY USE THIS LOCATION, AGAIN WHILE TRAVELLING SOUTH TO MYRTLE BEACH. I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS MICROTEL TO MY FRIENDS, AND OTHERS.

Even though the hotel was fairly full, it was nice and quiet. It seemed clean; the beds were a little too soft for our comfort.

I come to West Virginia once or twice a month and almost everytime I stay here. As always my stay was welcoming and comfortable. The rates are very reasonable. The only thing I would suggest is all rooms have a mini fridge and microwave.

Was very clean, looks new. Hotel sits on top of a mountain.

The hotel is just off the interstate and convenient to gassaway and sutton. However, the floors and walls seemed to transmit a lot of noise.

I was completely satisfied with my room, clean and comfortable. The staff was nice and professional.

Convenient, clean, friendly staff, good value, comfy beds- works for me!

Room was very nice with nice comfortable beds and lots of pillows. The only complaint I may have is that the walls must be very thin, because I could hear someone snoring in the other room!! No real complaint though, we would definitely stay here again.

We just needed a place to sleep as we were traveling home and found this off the highway we were on. The staff that night and the next morning were really nice and the room was large and the most comfortable beds and pillows I have seen in a hotel in a long time. The only main complaint was the walls were WAY to thin, I could hear the people talking in the next room and even just walking above me. When the people above me turned on their shower it scared me and woke me up. I would rate this all 5's if it wasn't for that. However, since we were just there in the night when most are sleeping, we enjoyed our stay and the breakfast the next morning was nice and kept cleaned by the staff.

This is an excellent location for the trip I take each year. It is clean, quiet and, overall, is excellent. I think it deserves more than 2 stars. Above all, my dogs are welcome and that makes it worth 5 stars for me.

The room looked clean, but the carpet was sticky, and when you walked on it, your socks turned black, and the floor in the bathroom was dirty, and the tub had hair in it, and we killed five worms crawling around th e tub and toilet, and the bedspreads were sticky, and one of the beds looked slept in. the people were friendly, but the rooms need alot of work on cleaning.

If you're looking for a hotel that's clean and comfortable but don't want the expense, this hotel is perfect. Great for travelers heading through the mountains of WV that need an overnight stop. However, it's located in the middle of nowhere so don't expect many attractions except for camping. One exit north has several restaurants as well in case you get hungry so overall I'd rate it a 4 because it served it's purpose.

We had a nice time in this sleepy little town. It was a holiday weekend so there were not alot of choices to eat out, but there was the essentials. The hotel staff was very friendly, the room was small but clean, and accomodating. The only downside is the accoustics. You can hear everything from everybody. More sound-proofing on the next hotel would be a plus. But we felt safe and secure, the rates were good, and location was central to many hiking and kayaking areas, which was a plus for us.
