I enjoyed my time at the Oscar. Friendly and efficient staff who were extremely helpful. The breakfast was nicely displayed and the buffet offered a great selection ranging from cooked breakfast foods to the more traditional continental style breakfast.

it's an ok hotel - faultless location (even if taxi drivers can't find always find it!). The staff are lovely, but the room was a bit shabby: shower leaked, fixtures broken, threadbare covers etc. It was ok - but I thought it was expensive given the quality.

I recently came back from a short break In Madrid with my two year old. We had a lovely time and enjoyed our stay at the room mate Oscar. We were made to feel very welcome. The cot was brand new and very clean. Thank you. It's actually still brand new as little one decided to sleep with me in the big bed. The food at breakfast was gorgeous. I wish my trip had been longer. I would definitely stay there again if I ever return to Madrid. The location was perfect. I felt really safe as a single wiman with my little one. It's so close to the main areas. Fab little trip. Thank you room mate Oscar. I will be seeking out your sister hotels in other cities in future.

I will definitely stay here again. You want to ask for a room away from the streets so you don't have to hear the partying people late at night. This hotel is close to everthing...especially the bars!! You won't go wrong!!

The hotel is in a great location and the hotel is very stylish. The staff was beyond accommodating as well. I would definitely stay here again!

Nice experience

One minor complaint: the breakfast options are the same every day and they get old real quick! Room Mate Oscar is located in the Chueca district, which is Madrid's gay-district. It is situated in a very nice and open plaza, just footsteps away from great food and TONS and TONS of bars and clubs. The employees of the hotel are all attractive--even the women--and are very nice and receptive to your needs. They gave me a room on the 7th floor but warned me that in the evenings it can get a bit noisy with the foot traffic going up to the terrace level. I didn't mind at all because I was on vacation and I was going to be partying until the crack of dawn. The noise wasn't too bad and on two occasions we went up to the terrace to see what all the talk was about. Well, the terrace is also very chic and sexy. It was peppered with comfortable beds where people can lounge around and relax with a drink and some food. It has some great vistas of the surrounding community and the people were fashionably dressed--apparently the terrace of Room Mate Oscar is the place to be! I absolutely loved the hotel and its many amenities and would not stay anywhere else in Madrid. Madrid was very enjoyable and our hotel added to my trip. I would like to send a warm thank you to all the employees at Oscar and I hope to see them again one day soon.

Was there for a business trip. Arrived at 11am after 14 hours of travel on a plane. Was exhausted. When I got to the front desk, they told me I can store the luggage for 3 hrs until check in time at 2pm. I did not want to roam around the city for 3 hrs, I just wanted to rest and shower. As nice as the city was, I was just not ready to explore on 3 hrs of sleep in 2 days. I ended up paying 25Euros per day to get an upgraded room that was ready. I expected them to find at least one room that was made up. It was a Wednesday, after all; not the weekend. Otherwise, room was clean and comfortable. They upgraded a few years back but have not kept up the cleanliness. It was clean enough to get by. The location was awesome, I have to say. Definately the best out of the stay. Neighborhood has a grocery store near by and lots of restaurants in the heart of down town.

Unfortunately I didn't have the best of stays. Other comments rate the hotel highly as such I may have been unlucky. On arrival having been told of the hotel rooftop pool & bar I headed straight there. Having ordered a drink from a rather "relaxed" member of staff who was enjoying a conversation with a client I was asked had I paid to join for the day? As I hadn't I said so and was told that it didnt matter any way as the club was full. Strangely on looking round only 2 tables of about 10 were occupied and there were a number of loungers also vacant! Maybe I just wasn't cool enough! Deciding to complain I was then left at reception for circa 7 minutes whilst one receptionist was on the phone and another 2 were back of house. Annoyingly though one kept looking at me from the doorway but preferred to speak with their colleague. What infuriated me was wen the phone rang he immediately raced to it, blanking me, and began a chat he seemed to enjoy. Later that evening when the air con in my room failed I decided enough was enough and left the hotel for the lounge of another hotel. I was disappointed as business takes me to Madrid frequently and was looking for a regular stay.

Nice stay at the Room Mate Oscar after the VIP party, I think for some new liquor product was over. Was required to show identification to enter the hotel, which we thought was odd, as there was this security guard with a guest list. Getting in the hotel, realized why. So many people going to the rooftop that using the lift was impossible, so had to walk up and down the stairs or queue for 10 minutes. Fortunately the second day, there was no special VIP party for booze, and the hotel was much better, and the service was much better.

Great hotel, great location. Staff speak excellent English and and very helpful and friendly.

It was our experience that Room Mate Oscar is staffed by very friendly and helpful representatives. Rooms are not equipped with an iron but after calling Reception one was brought within 5 minutes - very impressive based on my experience with North American hotels. Also, they happily telephoned restaurants to make reservations for my party. The location of this hotel is great, near everything and a block from the Gran Via (including the Gran Via Metro station). A close look at the rooms and furnishings indicates that they are somewhat whethered rather than sparkling new. The only disappointment was the room layout: A tiny window with no view, leaving the room fairly dark. I had a strong feeling that they reserved the less attractive rooms for people who booked on discount websites like hotels.com, as our friends had a similar experience.

We spent a weekend in this hotel becouse of its situation, close to Chueca and La Gran Vía. The situation is the best to me, but the room was chilled. I phoned to reception and they answered that the heatting engine was turned off and that they couldn't set it on only for our room. "If you are cold get blankets from inside the cupboard", they told me. I went down to reception and complained again face to face and they finally connected the heatting engine (but only for our floor!!!). "It's the first time I face something like that in a hotel with 4 stars", I told them. Then thay told me, "we're not a 4 but a 3 stars hotel". Ok, I noticed.

The hotel staff were very nice and helpful and the hotel looks nice and funky if a little tired however, the wifi kept going off , there was a power cut so we were in darkness for several hours and the buffet breakfast was not really great. however it was a 3 star hotel and i usually stay 4 or 5 star so for the price I paid it was pretty good value overall,

I was very surprised!! For the price, this was a great hotel. I highly recommend it. Great staff and overall clean and modern hotel.The view from top club was beautiful!

located in fun colorful neighborhood --full of interesting restaurants and stores.. Within walking distance to the great museums, off the Gran Via ,which I would skip and spend time exploring this neighborhood which is much livelier and seemingly more authentic

Exciting design, unique, comfortable, pleasant and helpful staff. Can't wait to go back and spend more time. Very reasonably priced!!! Great dining area for breakfast, also very reasonably priced. Can't say enough good things about this hotel!

Stayed for two nights on way to Barcelona and couldn't be more pleased! The staff of the hotel was very welcoming without seeming stuffy. It's definitely a modern hotel that tries (maybe a bit too hard) to be anything but beige. Still, I'll take a funky lighting fixture over a paisley bedspread any day. The 6 EUR breakfast is definitely well worth it with everything from fresh juices to meats, cheese, and sweets. Meanwhile the WiFi is free and strong! Overall our stay was excellent. Being right off Gran Via (and the metro stop of the same name) we had easy access to everything we wanted to see and do in less than 48 hours. Of course the obvious drawback of such central location are the party crowds that inevitably flock there on weekends. Still, the hotel was quiet enough and we slept through the festivities without a problem.

The decor here is modern and whimsical and doesn't take itself too seriously. Exceptionally fresh rooms, great pillows, and delightful toiletries. The rooftop bar/pool area is clever and offers spectacular views of the surrounding area - which is packed with bars, restaurants and cafes. The staff are friendly and accommodating - great at helping with directions and information about the area. The Cheuca Metro is a short walk from the hotel (with two simple transfers, gets you to the Airport in 30 - 40 minutes) - and the Gran Via, and the Puerta del Sol are minutes away. Also - breakfast is served until noon. Brilliant! You can't go wrong here! I will certainly visit again!

Great hotel, very unusual and modern. In a very lively area with lots going on and close to all the main tourist spots. We would happily recommend this hotel, but be wary of getting ripped off at the rooftop bar. You must go up there, have a drink and enjoy the view, the staff are very polite and helpful but one night we went up for a final drink and were ripped off, the other nights were ok so there is possibly one rotten apple spoiling the experience. Overall a great hotel

Room Mate Oscar is clean and nice with design rooms and a great roof terrace. But the best thing of all is that they serve breakfast until noon every day. And it's a nice breakfast too!

La habitación tiene pequeños detalles que suman a la hora de "dormir" con tu pareja. La cama es enorme, el wifi gratis. Muy buena ubicación. El lavabo está en la misma habitación, sin puertas ni mamparas. La ducha y el WC sí que están separados con un cristal "al ácido".

Muy buen hotel. La modernidad en su decoracion te entusiasma. El dedayuno buffet se recomienda en un saloun superacogedor.

Helt Ok hotell, bra centralt läge, ligger i Gay distriktet vilket kan vara bra att känna till. Bra service i receptionen.

Dit hotel ligt centraal ten opzichte van de grote winkelstraten maar ook als uitvalsbasis om leuke wandelingen door de diverse wijken te maken. Er is veel te doen rondom het hotel en toch is het er rustig. Kortom helemaal tevreden. De eerlijkheid gebiedt te zeggen dat wij hier al een keer eerder waren en dat is destijds ook zeer goed bevallen. De restaurants zijn op loopafstand, om de hoek ligt het metrostation Gran Via.

Ett prisvärt och centralt beläget hotell. Personalen var både serviceminded och trevliga. Rummen välstädade och fina.Jag rekommenderar vekligen detta hotell.

un endroit stratégique pour tout faire à pieds, un personnel super serviable et souriant. la propreté de la chambre serait à parfaire et bizarre ce manque d'intimité avec des toilettes et une douche avec parois de verre donnant sur le lit...

Stilig moderne hotell som gjorde Madrid oppholdet flott. Ligger perfekt til i forhold til shopping og Chueca område. Overnatter gjerne der igjen..

Freundlichkeit und Servicelevel waren sehr gut; Ausstattung der Zimmer auf Funktionalität ausgerichtet und für unseren Geschmack zu kühl und spartanisch. Fenster liess sich nicht öffnen, Fernseher und Dusche funktionierten bei Ankunft nicht, Schaden wurde jedoch rasch behoben.

Idéalement situé, hôtel design, moderne, personnel adorable, par contre l'hôtel aurait besoin de certains rafraîchissements (salle de bain), dans son ensemble hôtel que je recommande vivement

la estancia me parecio un lujo!! un hotel centrico,comodo y con una terraza coqueta y con unas vistas insuperables!! GENIAL!!

Baderommet var i ferd med å falle fra hverandre. Dorullholderen ramlet ned hver gang du tok i den og hadde skadet flisene under. Såpeholderen i dusjen og dusjholderen var i ferd med å ramle av veggen. Uheldig med teppe på gulvet.

Sehr gute Lage, in Fussdistanz zu allen Sehenswürdigkeiten der Innenstadt, inkl. Expressbus in 20Min. vom Flughafen (Cibeles). Das Hotel hat seine besten Zeiten klar hinter sich, Hauptsache "Design", was z.B. unpraktische Zimmereinteilung ergibt... lärmiger Club auf dem Hoteldach, daher obere Zimmer nur bedingt zu empfehlen, trotz besserer Aussicht. Das Personal ist jedoch extrem freundlich, das Frühstücksbüffet sehr reichhaltig.

Es un hotel que esta bien para pasar un fin de semana en Madrid. Para gente joven.

Un hotel design vraiment très sympa... l'esprit "roommates" change d'autres hotels. Attention, pas de room service. Idéal pour rayonner au nord de Gran Via dans le quartier très tendance de Chueca, non loin donc notamment du nouveau marché San Anton que mon épouse et moi aimons beaucoup.

Perfectly situated in the heart of Chueca and the city yet incredibly quiet.Healthy breakfast, clean rooms and nice staff. And a beautiful roof top terracce.
