Newly renovated hotel, conveniently located 5min from Ernest Reuter platz u line station , and also savygnyplatz s line station. Nice shops n restaurants nearby. Excellent shower n nice touch with free pm refreshments. Small room with narrowest bed ever!

Selected hotel based on review on Hotels.Com. We wanted a hotel reasonably close to Schiller Theater where Wagner's Ring was being presented in early April. Hotel was approximately 3 blocks from Theater, an easy walk. Good transportation nearby, a number of good restaurants within 2 blocks. We stayed in a room with kitchen facilities. Very comfortable, good staff and extremely helpful and pleasant staff. 7th floor lounge is open from 2 to 9 pm with complimentary coffee, tea, snacks, etc. Because of configuration of building, elevator stops at landings between floors meaning you have to walk up or down a short flight of stairs. No real problem but not easy for handicapped individuals.Highly recommend Hotel Otto.

Really don't understand why this place is so well reviewed. It's OK, but is NOT a 4 star hotel - basically a 3 star, no amenity hotel with marginally better interior design than some other 3 star hotels. The rooms and bathrooms are fine in an IKEA kind of way- they look OK but some of the fixtures and fittings are not particularly high quality. The construction quality is not great as there was a LOT Of noise coming into the room from outside in the corridor- did not help being on the ground floor next to reception. Also the "free" internet does not work in any meaningful way- extremely slow and too weak to be picked up by the ipad. I had to pay for the Tmobile hotspot because it was the only way to actually do some work in a reasonable amount of time. There is no restaurant or bar, and no staff anywhere after 11pm. All of these things would not have been an issue if my expectations were not raised by the reviews on this site!

This is my second time at this splendid hotel. Very good transport links to all Berlin. The staff are friendly and the rooms are extremely comfortable and very quiet. It has everything that I hope for in a hotel.

Realy enjoyed our stay not to far out of the main sights bus and train excellant had a wonderful stay at this hotel breakfast good and fresh afternoon tea and cakes served very nice after a day of sigtseeing would highly recommend

I booked this hotel because it had an "outstanding" rating - something I'd never seen before; and because we loved the ultra modern look. I'm delighted to say that this hotel did not disappoint - we were very pleased with it. What was so good? Its central but quiet residential location, the delightfully friendly staff, its quiet efficiency, the comfortable beds and smart bathroom; and its incredible breakfast from the rooftop restaurant. Frankly, I'd find it difficult to come up with any criticisms. [BTW I'd also recommend the Italian restaurant just across the road.] We really enjoyed our family time sightseeing in Berlin during half-term week and the hotel was an important part of that enjoyment. Well done to everyone at Hotel OTTO: we'd happily return to the hotel and we'd warmly recommend it to others.

Great room!! It was very hot in Berlin and no air conditioning. Otherwise, very comfortable room for space!

pro: free water, free snacks in the afternoon con: no a/c, tiny bathroom, no desk, small TV, small safe deposit box (does not fit laptop)

I recommend avoiding the "breakfast lounge" at all costs. Even though they set a place specifically for your room, never inform you about the cost, never ask you to sign something, you will suddenly find an additional charge on your bill for 15 euros per person. In my case, they significantly overcharged me (for breakfasts I never even went to the lounge for) and the staff was unfriendly, implying that this sort of thing happens all of the time and that they are usually successful in squeezing payment out of guests (they already have our credit card info). Other than breakfast: the location is very close to the university an reasonably quiet. The rooms can get very hot and stuffy in the summer, please note that there is no air conditioning. The internet works poorly, the code that they give you seems to expire at random and the registration desk is rarely open (even for a 7AM check out), making it difficult to get a new one.

I found the hotel to be extremely clean and well designed. The front desk staff was very hospitable, friendly and professional. When my flight was delayed, I called them and they arranged to have my room and key available in a lock box at the front of the hotel (which was very convenient). The location is also great as it is between two major train stations.

There was an amazing choice of food on offer at breakfast. Plus complimentary drinks and cakes in the afternoon. Lots of nice restaurants in the local environs. Recommend.

The Otto is in a quiet suburban neighbourhood with a great choice of cafes and restaurants on the doorstep. There is an underground station 2 minutes away, an S Bahn station a little further, and bus stops and a taxi rank round the corner, making connections to the rest of the city easy and efficient. Our room was comfortable and well furnished. We enjoyed excellent breakfasts in the top floor dining area with a wide choice of hot and cold dishes. A nice touch was free coffee, tea and cakes in the afternoon, very welcome after a busy day sightseeing. All of the staff at the hotel were welcoming, friendly and helpful. All in all the Otto was a terrific hotel package, perfect for our city break, and we'd have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone planning a visit to Berlin.

I had a great experience at Hotel Otto. The place is clean and comfortable, and the location is very convenient - many good restaurants nearby and within walking distance to the Savignyplatz S-Bahn station.

The Otto staff was the most helpful and friendly of any hotel that I have ever patronized. And, the property is spacious, clean and very well-located to major transit options.

for the price probably the best hotel i have stayed in

The hotel suited me exactly. The rooms were large and comfortable and the hotel is in a quiet ,tree lined street. It is in easy reach of three stations, including one going direct to the airport and it is in a neighbourhood with many small and pleasant restaurants. I do not like large glitzy hotels and this suited us perfectly. I would go back there any time. I can't finish without mentioning the helpfulness of the reception staff at all times.

Spacious rooms, stylish decor, great location, but their idea of a double bed is two twins pushed together, each with their own single duvet. I requested a double bed and was told (after I arrived) that their are no double beds in the hotel. Not great for a comfortable, friendly night's sleep.

I spent 3 nights in this hotel, which is in the western side of Berlin in a nice quiet neighborhood. It was very nice and comfortable but after staying a 4th night at the Novotel in eastern Berling, which is closer to downtown berlin, at a lower rate, I feel this hotel it a little over priced.

Hotel Otto is a spotless establishment. I placed a reservation for a single room, but was upgraded to a double one. As I arrived early in the morning, several hours before official check-in time and my room wasn't ready yet, I was offered a free breakfast - which was very nice. They serve a very good breakfast everyday (though a tad expensive). The hotel is located in a quite posh residential neighborhood in West-Berlin. As most of the attractions the city has to offer are located in the east, you will find yourself spending some time on Berlin's excellent public transport system, which isn't too bad since there is a U-Bahn station just 1 min. away, and an S-Bahn station 5 mins. away. Also, the X9 bus from the airport, stops just by the U-Bahn station, which is, as mentioned, 1 minute away from the hotel. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay.

We are delighted that we chose to stay at the Hotel Otto. We felt that its location in a chic and safe area of Berlin with lovely shops and restaurants nearby, and very convenient to both the sBahn and the uBahn, was ideal. And we loved almost everything about the hotel, including the fine standard of design. We particularly liked the afternoon and early evening access to complimentary refreshments with a view over the city from the outside balcony. The staff was also excellent. The only thing we did not like was being in room three, as it faces directly into a wall surrounding an exterior staircase only a few feet from the window. We would suggest that in booking this hotel you specifically ask NOT to be in room 103, 203, 303, etc. Upper floors would probably be preferable too.

Stuff is so nice. Restaurants near by. Very close to Metro Station. Large rooms with extra sofa.

This is a small hotel in a quiet neighborhood filled with a wonderful array of interesting restaurants. The hoteliers are extremely attentive, and provide service far above any common standards. Our room (601) was spacious and included a small but absolutely complete kitchen and dining area. Our rate included breakfast, and even without the breakfast plan everybody is entitled to afternoon snacks and unlimited bottled water. The Hotel Otto is a member of Slow Food, and they serve extremely interesting breakfast and afternoon snacks. They do not attempt to economize: the food is truly excellent, and it generally includes smoked fish of various kinds, a variety of fresh fruits, delicious pastries, quiches and other delicacies, in addition to more conventional breakfast options. Berlin is a big city and the hotel is centrally located, but it is not adjacent to many tourist sites. Realistically, for example, it's about half an hour from Alexanderplatz (or possibly a bit less if you walk to the Zoo station and avoid a change of trains.) We would definitely like to return.

Quiet location away from centre but convenient for both U-Bahn and S-Bahn which provide an excellent service. Huge choice of restaurants in surrounding streets. Tried the Aida and the Greek just down the road and would recommend both. Good selection of foods available if you opt to take breakfast at the hotel. The rooms seem very warm and there is no aircon - only a fan provided. This may be an issue for some but is my only negative comment. If you plan to go to The Reichstag, you now need to book this in advance with at least 3 days notice (you can book online). This only came in last November and is therefore not mentioned in most Guide Books. We were unaware of this and consequently were unable to visit.

We read only positive comments about Otto Hotel and were ready to be disappointed. We weren't. We arrived at 11 p.m. but checkin was flawless. The staff without fail was helpful and friendly at all times. The room was large and comfortable. There should have been another chair in the room, but we neglected to ask for it and there weren't enough hangers, also easily remedied. The bed was just right and the street was quiet. The hotel is located in Charlottenburg, an upscale area with lots of restaurants nearby. We'll gladly stay at the hotel again and will recommend it to our friends. It's a real 'find'.

I stayed here for 3 days. I had a comfort room and it was very spacious, with a sofa and walk in wardrobe, lot's of light and a very comfortable bed. I tried to change rooms at first, worried about noise from the street, but it turned out the street was very quiet, so no issues there. What made my stay so good was the impeccable quality of the service, the staff were amazing, willing to help in any way they could and incredibly polite and friendly. The roof terrace breakfasts were fantastic and I looked forward to them every morning. Great!

The location and facilities of Hotel Otto were superb. There was a free breakfast offer publicised by the hotel via Trip Advisor, and this is well worth taking advantage of - the breakfast was amazing! Even without the offer, the free coffee. tea and cakes available all day in the lounge (which is on the top floor with a lovely balcony) set this hotel apart from the rest. It made for a great place to take a pause in our day. The location is superb too - only a very short walk from convenient U-bahn, S-bahn and bus stations. (It's 15-20 door-to-door from Tegel airport via the X9 bus). Lots of lovely restaurants, cafes and shops are also just outside making it a top choice for a short break in Berlin. Highly recommended.

We came to Berlin for watching two operas by Deutsche Oper and had stayed in Hotel Otto for three nights. We had enjoyed the rooftop afternnoon tea, desert and view so much. Too bad! we could not get up early enough to have any breakfast due to attending long performances at night. The hotel is very clean, modern, cozy and staff is very helpful. If you have many luggages, please ask for help because there are few stairs you have to climb though it has a lift. We definitely will go back again!

I was very impressed with this place. The room had two single beds as requested, we also had a small kitchen (fridge, microwave, silverware, sink, coffeee machine, etc...), They also had a sitting area where someone could sleep. All the furniture was new and looked trendy. The room was super clean. We were greeted my Maxi on arrival, very friendly and helpful. She even helped us to the room and told us about the FREE water bottle service!! I have travelled all over Europe and I have to say this is the best value I have ever received. Everything was perfect, public transportation was minutes away, and your located near the Zoo which has express train near it too. Tons of restaurants and place to eat. Bakeries up and down the street. 100% recommend it and already thinking about headin back to Berlin, in which case will stay here!

The hotel was simple, clean and the staff were helpful. The usual things you expect from a hotel were not there however; bar, restaurant and room service which was a bit disappointing.

We were so impressed with this hotel - from the friendly helpful staff at check-in, through to the quality of the room and the fantastic breakfast. The hotel is located in a great area with good transport links and lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. We stayed in a studio and we were so impressed with the size of the room, the amenities, the furnishings, and the general comfort and style of the room. The hotel provided a great breakfast as well as coffee and cake throughout the afternoon and evening. We will definitely stay here again and have already recommended to several people. Great hotel!

What made this place such a winner for me is that the staff was so friendly and helpful. For the price, its totally nice, even though the internet service is a bit wonky . Clean. comfortable, and well located. No doubt I would stay here again. Everything you need a hotel to be, even though its not luxury (although still very nice).

Spent two nights at the Hotel Otto and the place was perfect. Quiet neighborhood with lots of restaurants and bakeries nearby. Short walk to U and S bahns. Hotel staff very helpful (and goodlooking too). The rooms were spotless, well appointed and very comfortable. The breakfast had lots of tasty choices. I can't think of anything that needed improving.

Having arrived very early, we were immediately invited to have (complementary) breakfast while our room was being readied. Impressive breakfast every day, included in price, served in rooftop dining room with balcony. Excellent and friendly reception staff with good restaurant recommendations for dinner (none in the hotel itself). Although at the back and with unimpressive view, our room was huge, modern and comfortable. This is a small hotel with very limited facilities and a small lift. Location in West Berlin within walking distance of shops, Zoo station for airport express and other stations, including underground. Good value for money given the location and the complementary breakfast.

Ich war schon zum zweiten mal im hotel Otto und bin nun ein großer Fan! Tolle Ambiente des Zimmers und eine schöne frühstückslounge mit einem Frühstücksbüffet der Superlative!werde wieder dort Buchen!

Lå 4 netter på hotell Otto og er godt fornøyd. Rolig hotell (vi hadde rom mot bakgården). Utrolig god frokost med veldig godt ferskt brød, rundstykker, croissant, pannekaker, egg, bacon, pølser, frukt, müsli, youghurt, ost+++. Supert område. Mange restauranter og butikker. 3-5 min til buss, U-bahn, S-bahn og togstasjon. Kort vei til zoologischer garten der det er supert å løpe. Anbefales:-)

Mukava ja siisti hotelli hyvien kulkuyhteyksien äärellä. Lentokentältä pääsi bussilla aivan hotellin viereen ja metrobysäkki oli niinikään lähellä. Ainakin huone sisäpihan puolelle oli rauhallinen. Aamiainen oli aivan loistava!Pienenä miinuksena itselleni olivat riittämättömät pimennysverhot. Mutta voin suositella!
