the hotel itself was cool. the room was very large with 2 floors was more like a condo than hotel room. the down stairs bar was excellent with live entertainment and great food. the down falls are no air conditionning which the large patio doors open cooled the room down. the patios them selves were a joke(maybe 12 inchs more show than anything). the only problem is everyone smokes outside the door of the bar below your room and made alot of noise. the sea gulls were also made alot of noice in the morning so if you close the windows upstairs by the bed and only opened the doors downstairs it was alot better. the parking lot was in the next block which was no big deal. staff was great. i give it a three because of the no air conditionning which in the summer must be unbearable and the noise with the windows open all else was good or great

Highly recommended. The suite was large and well appointed. Bath was clean and well-provisioned. The restaurant, food, ambieance and service, was so good we ate three meals there.

The overall cleanliness of the hotel was fantastic. The beds were very comfortable, and it was a nice relaxing place to stay with our family for a weekend in downtown Victoria. Our only downside was the parking, however we opted to park in a lot close to the hotel, as we were downtown hours before check in time. The bonus was we didn't pay for parking at all, as we left on a Sunday and there was not parkade attendant. We will most definitely stay again!

We rented a two bed room suite which was advertised as one bedroom with King bed, second with two single beds and a sofa bed in the living room. The suite we got did not have a King bed instead had a Queen bed and the staff refused to acknowledge about misleading advertisement. Both rooms were small especially room with the queen bed, it was so small that bed was in the way of the door so it can not be closed. Hotel does not have free parking but do sell parking for $10 a night but the parking place is one block away. Staff will not tell you but there is a public parking in front of the hotel (Store Road) for $7.50 a night. Worst customer service we ever faced in all these years including our travel to third world countries, only one bright spot and that is hotel’s location.

They did a great job when they turned this building into a hotel. It reminded me of a European hotel.

Swan's is in a great location. The hotel has a lot of character and the rooms are very well appointed. The bed, though king-sized, was a little uncomfortable. Overall, a fantastic option based on location and room appointments.

Heard the neighbors in the next room quite clearly. The walls are apparently pretty thin. Glad they retired early.

Overall stay was great. It was right in the heart of downtown Victoria and we were able to walk everywhere. It was also a nice size room for 6 people. Definitely would stay again! Plus the front desk staff were very nice!

Great older unique hotel, located in the downtown area in walking distance to all sites. The pub on the first floor of the hotel has great selection of beer and the food is wonderful.

It was only one night - but the whole experience from check-in to check-out was great!

Interesting neighborhood and within walking distance to downtown. We were very pleased with front desk suggestions and helpfulness in organizing our whale watching trip. We loved the huge rooms with all its kitchen facilities and I can't say enough about how clean it was! My one concern would be the lack of privacy between floors. We could hear others above us moving around and using the washroom. Overall a very fun hotel that had a great beer pub serving its own beer.

The location was wonderful! Walking distance to food and grocery store and the neighborhood was great! The mattress where hard and old and the sofa-sleeper mattress was unsleepable! If you are paying to sleep then the establishment should have proper sleeping accommodations. Also room service never answered the phone!

Stayed in a king suite here for one night and couldn't have been happier with the place. Incredible room, spread over two floors! Very different to the hotels I normally stay at, but that's what made it so good. Great service too, and the restaurant & brewpub downstairs are a great place for dinner. Wish I was staying longer, but unfortunately it was only one night!

Excellent. I suspect that we may not have enjoyed our stay at Swans as much if we had been allocated a room above the bar with live music! Our room 305 was well away from the bar. The restaurant and the quality of the food was very good. We were made very welcome by the restaurant manager, Albert.

Swan Suites was a great place to stay , nice and close to down town Victoria. We had a lucious lunch in the dinning room and service was awesome very attentive. We will be back!!!

it was okay

I was a bit concerned when I showed up as the lobby is quite small and the building is older but the room blew my wife and I away! We had a two level loft. The bed was ridiculously comfortable! The food in the pub was top notch and we had good service.

My wife, daughter and I all loved our stay at the Swans Suites. Huge suite for the price. Very friendly, helpful staff. Location can't be beat (right next to downtown, Chinatown, short walk to museums, waterfront. ) Only concern would be lack of air conditioning if you happen to catch a hot day (rare in Victoria,though). We kept our windows open for the nice, cool marine air, and suite had ceiling fan plus two portable fans. Bonus: the restaurant downstairs has great food, everything was fresh and delicious!!! Overall, a fantastic stay.

Very nice hotel . I'd stay here again

We enjoyed the hotel with its quirks and all. The bedrooms didn't have the traditional windows but skylights instead. It was very comfortable for our needs. It is one of the "tour" destinations and the busses caught us off guard a couple of times. The tour busses are mostly double decker busses and the tourists can see right in the second story window which is the main living/dining room of the room :) It was walking distance to downtown and we did do a lot of walking.

The Swan Suites hotel was very conveniently located; I flew up by the Float Plane (Kenmore Air) from Seattle Lake Union directly to Victoria Harbor, and walked to the hotel. Hotel room was very clean, and the brew pub/restaurant had some great beers (bavarian lager and a pilsner), the Sliders were also very good.

Friendly Staff - large comfortable rooms. Walking distance to everything.

I've stayed at Swans a few times and am always happy to come back. It's a great place in a great location.

I was expecting worse..the room is cute the master had a skylight but no windows & was warm.Iwas apprehensive with putting tykes in the 2nd bedroom..The stairs start outside their door,,,The only bathroom was downstairs and flooded...The fourth member of our group had to take a cold shower. Parking lot was unspupervised.

Pretty nice hotel, I'd be happy to stay there again, but wouldn't rush back.

We have always enjoyed Swan"s fine brewed beer and delicious food, and now we know Swan"s Hotel is one of the best places to stay in Victoria. Fabulous location, friendly, helpful staff,original art work and comfortable rooms. Live music every night, but we couldn"t hear it in our room.Shall recommend Swans to friends, and we shall stay next time we visit Victoria.

When I envisioned a hotel suite, I did not think that the tiny bedrooms would be on another level than the narrow little living room. We did not need the kitchen, so the lower space was wasted. I thought we would get two bedrooms and two baths but got only one small bath with a toilet that was reluctant to flush. Was I misled by the guy I talked to at Hotels,com or did I just misunderstand? If I had not had an inflated view of what to expect, I think I might have been pleased. The people were nice, the location good for downtown activities, the beds comfortable. The smoke from the pub downstairs did come in my open window, and the streetlights made me draw the shades; I closed the window and the shades and slept fine after that.

Enjoyed our stay. The room was unique with high a high ceiling and comfortable bed. Great music in the pub with a fun crowd. Couldn't have asked for a better location.

Our stay was very pleasant in a very confortable suite. The 1 bedroom suites are very spacious and the hotel is located near the harbour and great shopping.

We stayed in a suite. Very clean, and the staff are friendly. Neighborhood is not the greatest, but we did not have any issues. Some shady-looking characters on the streets in the evenings.

I stay at swans every time I go to Victoria... The rooms are really neat especially if you get one facing the bridge. The beer at the brew pub down stairs is great.

This was our first stay at the Swan. When we arrived the lobby was ok but very small and nothing special, the hallway leading to our room seemed small and dark and provided a bit of foreboding. But when we got to the rooms they were great. Large, original art work, clean, great bathrooms - all in all very nice. Staff was friendly and we really liked the neighborhood. Tons of small restaurants within a few blocks from the hotel. I prefer this to being right on the inner harbor where you tend to have to walk a long ways to get to the restaurants.

We booked this hotel last minute. I stayed in Victoria in both Fairmount and Oswego. Oswego price range is similar to Swans (if not cheaper) and the room there was way better than Swans. Swans room was dark, gloomy with the most depressing paintings ever. The hotel was close to the night clubs, so it was loud on Saturday. I don't think I'll go back there again.

loved the king size bed, feels like home, clean and spacious room. would recommend this hotel.

Totally happy with this hotel! Service was great, room was beautiful, rates were more than fair! Loved the apples in the fridge too! Can't wait to stay here again!
