BEACH HARBOR RESORT - Sturgeon Bay

Overall the stay was NOT A pleasant experience. The bathroom was in a very bad condition. No action was taken even after we reported the issue. The motel itself is in a remote area where cell phone service wasn't there. Our request to shift us to a better room was ignored, and we were bluntly told there were no rooms left. The walls were very think and we could hear the people in the next room. We payed considerable amount of money for the whole stay for such a shabby room and service and we REGRET that we chose this motel. We had to heavily depend on the free WiFi which was somewhat slow. We were not given accurate information by the motel staff and which costed us extra money on top of the original amount.

My fiance and I went to Door County for a long weekend trip. Our room was clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is on a lake, and I saw that they had jet skis and other water devices for rent. There is also a bar on the premises. I'm still not quite sure why it's called a resort, though. This place was like a clean, motel/hotel with a much more competent and friendly staff than those places normally have. It was conveniently located near the downtown area. Overall, good experience.

Very quaint and older style. The covers were encased in duvets which was nice and the beds were clean. But when you opened the door, you were struck in the face by a very unpleasant smell, like moldy carpeting or moldy air conditioning. The bathroom really needs updating. The other guests were family types and very quiet. The staff need more lessons on upping their customer service skills so to make you feel more welcome. The beach, restaurant/bar and grounds were small and included a volleyball area, fire pits, lawn chairs and a nice sandy beach . On the plus side, there were free kayaks to use and floatation vests but they no longer rent out bikes to use. Another plus was you could walk to Potawatomie state park, and hike in about 2 miles and back with a stop at the campground store for refreshments. You can rent bikes at the campground store and gets a helmut included too. beautiful place to bike and just slightly hilly.

This was one of the worst stays I have ever experienced. There were ants all over the room, no soap/shampoo in the bathroom, the A/C stopped working in the middle of the night, and the shower head was missing. My stay lasted just 12 hours, before I demanded a full refund,.

The hotel was exactly as we expected...comfortable room with a small beach on Green Bay. The staff were great and very friendly. Breakfasts were fine with a good selection of primarily carbohydrates. Restaurant was busy at night with a good "local" atmosphere. Hope to stay there again next year.

It is not a 5 star luxury resort, but Beach Harbor is a great place if relaxation and fun is what you are looking for. There is a beach and boats and plenty to do for kids and adults alike. Located in a beautiful area right next to Pottawatomi State Park. Would definitely return!

Room was supposed to have 2 beds but did not. Front desk claimed it was Hotels.com's fault. Room was clean but poorly maintained. Very nice location on the water but overall the motel was disappointing. If you've been there before and liked it, great. Otherwise don't bother.

Everyone there couldn't have been nicer. The beds were clean and our air conditioner worked, as opposed to the rest of our group staying in the room next door. In 100 degree heat, you want the AC to work. The staff was very friendly and the drinks were a great value. I just had a problem with the room, really. And the continental breakfast could have been nicer I think. We had a chair in the room that was so stained, I didn't want to sit on it or even put any clothes down on it. The curtains were not long enough to cover the window, so the light came in in the morning. The windowless bathroom had an air vent that didn't work, and the lighting was so dim I had to come out of the room to put my contacts in. Also the water pressure in the showere was TERRIBLE. Luckily we were only there one night, but had we been staying longer I would have been at the desk trying to switch rooms. However, as I said, the staff was really really nice and helpful with other things, like renting a boat.

Although the resort is not a newer or fancy resort the room was very spacious and nice. It was also nice having a bar/restaurant on the property. The staff educated us on the many sights to see, and helped us to get the most out of our time there.

great room for the price. We would definitely go back in the future

This is a very quaint place. It is right on Sturgeon Bay, has a restaurant and bar adjacent to the motel. There are nightly specials at the restaurant and all food is very good. The yard is huge, with many lawn chairs to enjoy the water. Small beach for swimming. Rent jet skis. Adjacent to the Ice Age hiking trail and near a state park. Very quiet area.

The beach harbor resort is something like a Super 8 motel at the water's edge. There is a nice little beach to get your feet wet and a boat rental on the premises. The resort also features a bar with outdoor seating overlooking the bay and harbor. The place is family-owned and staff goes the extra mile to make your stay pleasant. It's not a Five-Star resort with marble bathrooms and Egyptian cotton sheets - but an affordable, welcoming place close to the marvellous attractions of Door county.

Shower head was rusty and shower water red--not good.

Friendliest staff and service we've ever experienced. We had car trouble shortly after checking-in and the staff at the resort went over and above what we expected helping us to locate a mechanic and making our stay enjoyable!

This is a fun place to stay. It has a nice beach, an outdoor bar, nearby state park, and a beautiful view. The customers are mostly locals or Wisconsin-people, not the normal Door County tourist crowd. The atmosphere is very relaxed, management doesn't worry about rules and regulations, and everyone is genuinely friendly. Could the facilities use some maintenance and updates?--absolutely. Is it comfortable enough for a short stay or as a base to visit other destinations?--also absolutely.

The hotel was out of the way from everything Door County has to offer. Spiderwebs in room, very old mattress. Towels were disgusting and stained. A mildew smell in the hallways of the hotel as well as a "dampness" in the room. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The grounds at the Beach Harbor Resort are amazing. The view of the bay is beautiful and relaxing at the same time. The resort has a nice non-pretentious family feel to it.

Beach Harbor Resort is located right on Sturgeon Bay overlooking the water with a beautiful view. It's not on the main drag so you wouldn't find it by accident, but well worth finding. Our room was bright and clean with everything we could want, including Wi Fi. When we arrived we were welcomed at Waterfront Mary's where a Packer party was going on. Everyone was friendly and went out of their way to take care of us. We will definitely consider Beach Harbor Resort the next time we visit Door County, and will not hesitate to recommend it to others.

Our room was big and open, clean, with cable TV, DVD Player, micro and fridge. Everything was as advertised. Bathroom was clean and well stocked, plenty of towels. The food at waterfront Mary's was good. We ate on the patio over looking the bay enjoying the scenery. We have stayed at hotels for three times the price and got a donut and coffee for breakfast. At Beach Harbor we got a nice big breakfast--a great choice of waffles, fruit, yogurt, bagels, oatmeal, 7 kinds of cold cereals, with coffee, tea, orange juice, or milk. The staff was polite and helpful at all times. This resort has a lot of character--not a bland cookie cutter type chain motel. It offers everything the higher priced motels give you without breaking the bank. We would definitely stay here again and we recommend it without hesitation. We found only one minor drawback and that was the walls were not as soundproofed as other places we have stayed. Since the beds were comfortable we fell asleep right away and it didn't matter.
