This facility impressed us as a jewel. On check in the manager, Val, was on the desk. She was most helpful. The room was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful, waffles, bisquits and gravy, pastry, bagels, cereals, etc. We travel a lot and would rank this as one of our best stops. The morning desk clerk even looked up the 511 road report for us.

When I arrived, they told me I requested a SMOKING ROOM! I did not request one and I showed them the receipt I printed off from the computer when I made the reservations and it clearly says ***NON-SMOKING***. The attendant said it camed across the computer as SMOKING and there was nothing they could do because they were all booked up. Since I already paid for the rooms, I had to take it. I was not happy about staying all 4 nights in a smoking room since I do not smoke. But, the room was very quite and the bed was very comfortable.

I am from the Norfolk area, and come back occasionally. I stayed here this time b/c of my great experience last time. I choose this one because of the excellent price and location. However, this time I was disappointed in that when I entered my room, I got hit with "that dirty smell". However, the room appeared neat and clean. I was able to overcome that by opening a window and left it open through the night and that seemed to air it out a bit. The bed was very comfortable, as usual. I will give this motel another shot soon as I will be returning and I hope that I don't smell that smell again. Morning breakfast was also impressive for a motel this size. It would be nice if you would add deadbolts to the key card locks. Shower was clean and the faucet and water spicket were spotless. (More impressive b/c I stayed at a much more expensive motel the next night in Norfolk, and I can't say that for them!) :)
