Byward Blue Inn - אוטווה

No issues. Great location and very helpful and friendly staff. Clean and great basic amenities. Good 3 star type accommodation, basic room but very clean. A block away from great food and pubs.

Great little place!

Great proximity to Byward Market, nightlife and restaurants. Didn't have to drive all weekend. Enjoyed the balcony for early morning coffee and late night glass of wine. Room was very clean and perfect size for our needs. It would have been nice to have more lighting in the bathroom. Overall an enjoyable experience.

They included a breakfast, but is only available from 7-9:30. Room was loud because of the popular/busy street. No fan in room available to drown out loud people outisde.

The inn is immaculate and has many special touches (eg complimentary afternoon tea and friendly and helpful staff). Great location -- we'll definitely stay there again.

We loved our stay (2nd time) and will always try to book this hotel when we go to Ottawa. Friendly, clean, great breakfast, great rooms and within walking distance of anything we want to see! Love it!

This place has a very friendly and welcoming staff. I had booked a non balcony room, but they upgraded me for to a room with a balcony as the hotel wasn't that filled. My stay was for one night only, but I was very satisfied with it. It is in a prime location and you have so many things to do close by. Tip: there are public parking lots close by that you can use as an alternative to the private parking the hotel provides and it costs just one third of the hotel's parking charges.

Very short stay for business purpose, and weather was poor so no opportunity to view sights other than out of taxi window. Arrived after midnight, quick check in, although a little perfunctory.top floor room , balcony out looking street, clean room and comfortable bed. Small funcional type kitchen and coffee maker in room.good shower, lots of hot water.iBreakfast so-so but adequate, front desk very helpful with directions. Right downtown and close to shopping, restaurants ,

Very convenient location, within walking distance to all the sites. Breakfast could be improved--fairly basic and plain. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Parking next door in public lot--slightly cheaper than their own garage.

A no non-sense / bare bones place to stay. A little more luxury could do wonders to this place....Friendly staff and a decent breakfast almost made up for the extremely cheap bathroom and the ice cold floor.

Right in the centre of town with shops and restaurants and close to US embassy.

Amazing for the price and location. Will definitely stay at Byward again.Why did I not know about this hotel before??? I've been going to Ottawa from Toronto for more then ten years and I just discovered this hidden gem...

It was a great trip.

The staff were very polite, our room was comfortable. The location is great, a short walk to everything. We had a great view from the balcony. The only problem we had was a noisy man in the hall at 3 a.m. but that wasn't the Inn's fault. The next time I visit Ottawa I will book this location.

The hotel was great. Breakfast was free, but it was terrible.

We had a really good stay at Byward... The room was cosy and ours had a balcony.. on the front .. It was quiet even on a weekday morning.. The breakfast had a nice variety to offer.. The coffee could be stronger.. seemed quite watered down. It has a European flavor to it.. like some inns there.

While it was clean and the staff helpful and friendly,we checked out after one night having paid for two. There was no atmosphere in room,cold bare floors,felt tired and dingy and the bed was extremely uncomfortable.

I spent three nights at the Byward Blue Inn at the end of October and was extremely pleased by the quality of the room, the warm hospitality of the staff and the the wonderful service. The room was beautiful and had many amenities: frig with mineral water, coffee maker with teas and coffee, warm robes,and free wifi. Buffet breakfast and afternoon tea were included. The staff were super friendly..The hotel was close to the Byward Market, the National Gallery and Parliament Hill. I parked my car when I came and never used it again until I left. It was lovely. I would stay there again and recommend it highly. Maria B.

Great hotel, very centrally located. Helpful staff. Great breakfast. Clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend it to friends and family and stay there again if we are ever in Ottawa.

Close to interesting places to visit and eat at. A comfortable, well-maintained hotel with helpful, friendly staff.

walking distance to great restaurants

It has a great location but the rooms are small. And the 2 twin beds is not convinent.

The hotel is situtated in the heart of the market but just far enough away from the bars to be quiet. In that sense, it was an absolutely perfect location. The room I had was really comfortable, the tv was old and the remote didn't work that well but all in all it was a really great stay. Would recommend to anyone.

My stay was okay. The major problem i had was that, my bed was most often not well laid, i had to clean the toilet bowl on arrival.

My room had cheap, peeling laminate flooring, curtain hems were falling apart; a/c was clear taped and screwed into the frame with raw wood; dyi decor dates back to the 80's...... Had to lift my heavy suitcase up the front entrance stairs, because there is no ramp; definitely not a place for disabled or impaired persons. It was absolutely NOT worth it's price.

The hotel is literally down the street from the primary shopping and nightlife center of Ottawa. It is an excellent location. The hotel itself was fine. No problems and the staff was courteous and helpful. The French language was no problem. Most people are bilingual.

Great location in the heart of downtown Ottawa. Room is very basic and outdated, but clean. We slept very well. Good free breakfast in very nice, homey dining area. Cosy sitting room on ground floor with fireplace. Not a fancy hotel but comfortable and close to bus transit and walking to many interesting sites in and around the downtown core. Older princess phone in room on a very short cord. Good price for the location.

This place was exactly in te right spot for us. Very helpful and friendly staff. The room was very clean and spacious. I will definately be booking this place again the next time I visit Ottawa.

The stay was very good, the breakfast -continental style- was good. The room was comfortable and 1/2 block from the Byward market area with lots of restaurants and morning food markets. The parking has limited space but has convenient public underground parking right next door. Good Trip.

Very clean, comfortable, and convenient! Great location right in the Byward market which has everything you could need. Great additions to or stay (at no extra cost) included coffee, tea, chocolate and cookies virtually all day, a private sauna you can book as well as a great breakfast. Will be booking there again soon!

Surprisingly nice city, down town anyway. BywardInn could use better pillows, the breakfast could be easily improved, and the air-cond was sluggish (maintenance reqd?), but overall things were fine. Enjoyed the afternoon snack and the location is perfect.

Overall a good hotel. We enjoyed the complementary tea time and breakfast and the art on the walls.

The Inn was located centrally in the busy Byward Market, but on a quiet street. Greeted warmly and enthusiastically by the afternoon/evening concierge, and he continued to follow up on our stay/activities throughout our 3 days at the Inn. Rooms were very comfortable and clean, with a balcony overlooking a courtyard and the surrounding neighbourhood. The Inn has the feeling of a European motel, and will be the place we return to when we come back to Ottawa.

We would stay at this location again if we wanted to be near attractions in downtown Ottawa.
