Great facilities with a gym and pool, so something to do while it poured outside. 2 choices of food, bar or resturant. We chose resturant which was very nice. Staff friendly and efficient. Will definately book again. Nearby Fairview can get to the beach and Southport 10mins drive. We went to Haydock races the following day, 20 mins drive

The hotel was a dream come true just wished i could of stayed 2 nights as was fully booked on the sat 3rd november. ...but our stay was very special. ..due to my self having head and kneck cancer i wanted to have a special weekend away And formby hall hotel was a blast the reception staff went out of there way for me very polite kind careing and very good at there job we got there just befor 7pm at to be given our lovely hotel room was just what i needid. ...brakefast well can not fault it inn anyway. ..this hotel made my recovery even more special will be comming back very soon. ..but the dates are saying fully booked arrrrrrrrr friday 23rd till the 25th of november xxxxx hope there come free xxxx thank you all at this special fantastic hotel

Great surroundings, facilities in hotel were excellent. Front desk staff were poor in terms of customer satisfaction and empathy. On second day the key card to my room didnt work, reporting this to reception got no form of apology, just in silence the card was taken, a replacement given with a 'there you go'! Obviously this is so regular that the staff no longer consider it an inconvenience for guests!

An excellent hotel and location. This was my second visit. Only difficulty I had was a mobile phone reception in the hotel ... but maybe that is an advantage! Free wi-fi.

The Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa was in a beautiful setting and exceeded expectations. The interior of our room was luxurious and all communal areas were well maintained and spotlessly clean. All the staff were helpful and friendly and we would highly recommend this hotel.

I've stayed at this hotel 3 times to enjoy the spa facilities and the pleasant surroundings. I'm not a golfer, but it seems to be quite a popular place for the sport. I had a delicious souffle omelette in the restaurant on the last occasion and the beds are very comfy. The hotel is convenient for Liverpool and Southport but is tucked away in a rural setting. I would definately stay here again.

Had a wonderful night's rest in a quiet room at the back of the hotel. Room clean with a very comfortable bed. Enjoyed the spa facilities which were exellent. Had a nice dinner, and the restaurant staff were very pleasant. I would love to stay at the Formby Hall again.

We booked our hotel on the morning of our stay as we decided to go to Southport Flower Show on the last minute. We were surprised and delighted at how spacious and how well presented our hotel room was. We used the pool and vitually had it to ourselves and though we had only booked a room we ate in the 19th hole bar area. The bar snack in the evening was nothing to write home about we had jacket potato with coronation chicken and the potato was microwaved to death! But the following morning we had a full English breakfast out on the terrace of the 19th hole bar and this was excellent value compared to the hotel restaurant breakfast at twice the price! We would definately go again as we had a really pleasant stay.

This si a swish spa resort. Large well appointed rooms, free wifi, free access to the swimming pool. Its set in a golf resort and there are no local ameties, but is an easy 2 mile drive to Formby and Ainsdale (beaches, Nature Reserve). Southport is about 5 miles away.

The hotel was very comfortable with a friendly atmosphere. It was easy to relax in the bar where food is served all day and can watch the golf. The spa was the best I've been to with very nice staff and good facitities. I would be happy to go again. It is very good value for money.

We chose this hotel as it was walking distance to a relative's home, and were very pleased with it overall. The setting on the golf course was beautiful, although I would definitely recommend springing the extra $$ for a room on the golf-course side of the building. Ours was a beautiful room, but on the parking lot side, and extremely noisy during a Saturday night wedding - which wrapped up at 0330 and the noise continued in the parking lot for a further hour. I think the sound-proofing was probably very good if you closed the windows - but we preferred the fresh air and put up with the noise. Staff was fantastic - extremely friendly and helpful. Sticky toffee pudding was amazing! Probably a bit of an awkward location if you don't like long walks or don't rent a bike or car - not a problem for us. The local independent taxi (Phoenix) was fast, relatively cheap, and helpful. Closest train stop is Freshfields, but not really walking distance to hotel from the train.

I was working in Liverpool city centre, the journey although only 14 miles during peak time was around 40 minutes, but the hotel is set in a very peaceful location, Spa area pool and gym all looked good but I didn't use, whilst also being a busy golf location which can provide a more virbrant setting for those that don't like the isolation, the golf bar providing all amenities, beer, food, sky sports, somewhere to sit comfortably.. The room accommodation was good, provided ereything needed, only came across sky sports by accident didn't realise it was included, to be picky the previous person I guess left their golf shoes on the window sill leaving grass behind, should have been cleaned... the toilet sounded like it was ready to break away from the wall... I'm not that heavy and it was positioned quite high, I could have happily dangled my feet .... all in all a good stay would stay again, warning however when driving on approach road towards hotel, this is very undulating in places and anything over 30mph is potentially hazardous.

The Hotel was better than i expected. The Pool and Steam room swayed it, when looking for a room near Southport. Ive been to the Vincent before, but this hotel not only matched it, but the food and general ambience was better.

Must stress this hotel is a golf resort so no urban amenities.
