The Bull Hotel - ג'רארדס קרוס

Having stayed at the Bull Hotel previously, it was as always an excellent hotel. The breakfast is especially good. Booked an Executive Room which was very spacious.

This was a great find for the type of hotel we were looking for. We wanted to visit and travel on the west side of London for a day or two before staying in central London. We make day trips to Windsor (The Castle) and Portsmouth (HMS Victory) which were easy because of the hotel location. At night the bars and resturant were good to relax in before going to bed. On the first full night there was a wedding reception and the hotel staff knew that it could get noisy, so the hotel made an extra effort to separate the wedding party guests from the other guests, and they did a good job of keeping the two apart. One of those places you want to go back to and spend a whole week there.

We were greeted by a really nice and energetic receptionist which got the stay off to a good start. The rooms aren't great considering the cost and comparable to what you might get for that money elsewhere. The bar is spacious and courtyard nice. We ate at the restaurant for dinner after being told we "must book"! It turned out to be 30% full and the top 3 things on the menu had run out by 8:30pm?! After reporting the room to be far too hot they said there wasn't much they could do but open a window.. they opened just half an inch! The hotel has great intentions, just a little tired.

Friendly staff. Staff were very helpful and service was efficient. Stayed in the wing that probably needs modernising. But room was clean and comfortable. Found it annoying that 10% was added to the cost of everything.

Lovely cosy hotel in a quiet neighbourhood 45 mins from london. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The hotel is very clean, rooms are comfortable, staff very friendly. Good quality toiletries in bathroom. Would def stay here again. You need a car to get around.

Large hotel with lots of parking, wifi in rooms with good connectivity, clean and spacious. Only thing I can say against is that the I ate in the bar and the food/drinks service was quite slow, they didn't appear to have enough staff on the bar and it took 20 mins to get served, also I didn't like that every time you order anything from the bar they add on 10% service charge, so I've downgraded them one point on this, otherwise a good stay.

Good hotel quite large with plenty of parking, the food in the bar area is good although the service is quite slow (for food and drinks) and the bar tends to closes quite early. The rooms are clean and spacious with a good TV and Wifi included free of charge. There are also nice gardens out the back although I didn't get time to look around them you can see from the conservatory.

Ok hotel, but no gym facilities and a little run down.

The hotel staff were friendly and the room was large and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent as well. The hotel could do with some leisure facilities as its a big hotel and there isn't that much tomdomaround the mediate area but overall good for a night.

Poor - paid for a room with two double beds and got there to find a double and a camp bed. Also, place needs updating. Decor in rooms is probably 20 years old. Breakfast was ok but some cheap ingredients. (Frozen hash browns and cheap canned mushrooms etc)

Nice hotel. Did not get connecting rooms or even rooms on the same floor, which was inconvenient for a family of 5 (parents in one room with 3 children in the other). However, the rooms were very nice and the location good for our needs. Included breakfast buffet was also very good.

Craig and I stayed at the Bull on our arrival in Engalnd and stayed for a few nights and on our way out again we stayed for another night, we really enjoyed ourselves and loved the garden. Well done.

My wife and I weren't able to get there until late, after midnight, but the guy still came out to let us into our room, which was great. The only thing i'd say was negative was that the room was...well...more than a campsite but less than a hotel room. It's a place to sleep and get a shower, which was great, but it's what you pay for (which is the cheapest in the area).

A very comfortable and modernised old, coaching house, style hotel, which suited our family of 5 perfectly. The staff are friendly and the food is very good. The large and pleasant common is just over the road and the centre of the town is a 5 minute walk away. We will definitely go back again.

Hotel is in a great location, beside the West Common, but is devoid of character. Also, it was devoid of cask beers on the night of our stay, which was a disappointment.

A very pleasant stay. Hotel is very welcoming and clean. Hotel staff is extremely nice and helpful! Very good breakfast! Well done~!

all great apart from no chance of a lie in-very noisy in the morning with doors slamming and people talking/running noisily in corridors.

Very good standard at an affordable price. Nice hotel garden.

ALTHOUGH THE ROOM WAS NICE IT WAS A MISSION TO GET TO. SO MANY HALLWAYS, WE BOOKED TWO ROOMS AND THEY WERE BOTH AT OPPOSITE ENDS OF THE HOTEL. WE ALSO HAD A CHILD WITH US AND THE BED PROVIDED WAS AWFUL SO WE JUST MADE A BED ON THE FLOOR. THE BREAKFAST WAS GOOD, AND OVERALL THE AMMINITEIES WERE GOOD.

Hotel was really impressive - can't fault it. We had a superior room which was one of the best I've stayed in.

Booked family room for 2 adults and 2 kids 12 & 13 to find 2 z beds with no more support than a non league football team! I had to let the kids stay in the bed whilst I slept on the floor! Having stated ages I would have expected single beds At least - this could have happened anywhere but after asking where was best to park the hire car and anywhere was the answer I returned in the morning to A note saying sorry for crashing into your car! Parking spaces very narrow and difficult for most drivers to negotiate obviously drinks very expensive food good but bit overpriced

Comfortable and clean will return!

Busy hotel. Nice and clean. Slightly let down by service in some areas - The barman in the evening was very reluctant to change a guests very cloudy beer - almost verging on arguing with the client. Breakfast was OK but no one explained the way it was served. No toast offered or visibkle for example. Long queue to check out in the morning. Generally though, very comfortable, room was nice and big and well maintained. I'd possibly stay there again but would probably look to see if there were any alternatives worth considering.

We stayed in the hotel for only one night with our 2 small children. Got a free room upgrade. The rooms are spacious, kids loved the tub and 2 TVs in the room. Staff was very helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

For the money I paid it was good, the room I got was small with no aircon but I could open the window so that was fine. The bed was old but comfortable, I think Moses used the bed once... There was free Internet access this is good. Staff were friendly, chekin and checkout was quick. Styling of hotel was ok, but I think needed some upkeep in my room as wall paper was peeling a bit. Room was very clean, and bathroom impeccable. The food was good and breakfast was good too, the location was good and the hotel had everything I needed so overall was happy for the money.

Classic older UK roadhouse/hotel. If you have a car this is an easy commute to downtown London. Commuter train is also nearby. Staff were very anxious to be of assistance. Nice lounge/bar with excellent service and good dining room although limited menu. Room was very comfortable and well set up. Like the hotel the bath was older but well set up and spotless. Wired internet in rooms and wireless in lounge off lobby. We booked initially for one night but extended it to three based on facility and location.

Really good hotel. Excellent find. Travelling with my partner and three small children it was one of the only hotels that provided accommodation for 5 of us in the area. The rooms were fantastic, my six year old mesmerised by the Jacuzzi bath! The only issue for me is that the bed was slightly, only slightly on the soft side (like there were too many matress protectors on it). Also I was just a little conscious of the noise that three children make as, it really is a lovely hotel!!

I am not sure how The Bull got its 4 star rating. Our stay was not a great experience. Beware of the standard rooms over the public and event areas, which need upgrading and fumigation for insect infestation. I also agree with previous reviews that the staff needs to be more friendly and accommodating. We were offered NO apology or restitution after our miserable stay, only told they would get back to us but never did. We booked a standard room for two nights before leaving the UK since it was convenient to Heathrow. The TV did not work, and the mattress was worn out with an uncomfortable depression in the center. The staff refused to move us, even when we offered to pay an upgrade. Their solution to our complaint was a large wooden board that was slide under the mattress which was thick enough to take away the depression, but made the bed too hard and the edges of the board were now located under our hips and backs. Their maintenance staff made several visit to the room to repair the TV. Worst of all, we were not made aware at booking or check in that wedding events are featured services of the hotel. Our room was over the ballroom and vibrated with the sound of the bass speakers and dancing guests until after 1:00 pm. The wedding party continued even later into the night. The next day the staff finally agreed to move us after a night of no sleep. Our new room was one door away. The mattress was better and the noise from the second wedding party was not nearly as bad. However, we woke with bug bites all over our legs. The only good thing we can say about our stay at The Bull was its location to Heathrow and a train station was good. And, the village had a number of good restaurants. As for the hotel, we will NOT be visiting again!

Very comfortable and convenient for the short journey to Wembley. Great breakfast !!!

We booked The Bull as we had difficulty in finding accommodation for 2 adults and 3 small children that was close enough to Legoland Windsor. We were able to book a Suite at the hotel which was surpassed our expectations. The children had separate sleeping area with their own TV and they had their own WC as well as having a large jacuzzi bath and walk in shower. The only issue we did have was that the room was not set up for the additional sleeping arrangements when we arrived, however, this was quickly rectified by the Duty Manager and we received complimentary glass of wine and lager. Breakfast was lovely - there was a large choice of cereals and a full english - again the only criticism is that you couldn't order fresh toast from the kitchen, you did have to wait in a queue to make it yourself. We arrived late back one evening and found the restaurant to be full so we ate in the bar area. The food was lovely although was let down by the fact that it was only warm and not hot when it arrived. If I was staying longer I would have mentioned this but didn't seem worth it for the one meal. Overall we had a great stay at The Bull and would definately return next year for our annual Legoland trip!

We were visiting London for the first time and stayed here for 2 days.Very nice location,easy access to train service.I forgot my jewelery pouch with money and some other things.Called them 2 days later and they kept it for me until I could return to pick it up.Not even a hairpin was missing.Would definitely recommend to friends.

We picked this hotel since it was reasonably priced, had good ratings, and was located close to Windsor and Heathrow Airport. It turns out that it is a historic hotel going back several hundred years. It has been added onto over the years and is loaded with character. The room was smallish but had everything we needed. Bathroom had been newly redone. Recommended for the budget traveller.

Attractive to look at in an attractive location. Room practical and very comfortable.Only criticism of room is that we feel that dressing table and wardrobe need to be of higher quality to withstand hotel usage. Breakfast was of good quality with an excellent choice available.Our only criticism was that the coffee was not hot enough

I've stayed here a few times, normally even the standard room is well appointed and spacious although lacking in-room tea and coffee facilities. This last time though I got stuck at a room on the 2nd floor at front of the hotel, this had a kettle, but the room was small and smelt strongly of new paint, opening the window you had traffic noise and people talking loudly. Shut the window the stink of new paint. Normal rating would be 4 stars, this time only 2.

Had booked and paid for a suite, which had been double booked so I was put in a deluxe room. The room itself was lovely all nice and new, but the mattress on the bed was so soft that two people would be joined in the middle, we did not get any sleep !! only double size beds for most of the rooms and they have plenty of space for KIngs. We had the room we booked on the saturday night, which was fantastic, lovely room good size bed and a mattress that was a mattress. Duty Manager was good, but did not like reception girl telling me I had not booked a suite when I clearly had, and he confirmed it. ~Would only stay again if they could confirm and confirm the bed would be decent, shame the rest of the hotel was great.

Hotel was quiet, comfortable and conveniently located to the center or town - approximately a 10 minute walk. Very clean cozy. My only complaint was that the bed could have been newer. It was a bit worn and not very comfortable.

We decided at the last minute not to drive home from London to the Midlands and booked this hotel without our usual research. It is very good. An old coach house, sympathetically restored with large lounges, very good restaurant and comfortable rooms, we would return. Our only issue was the noise from a function in an outer building, opposite our bedroom, which went on till late, but in future we would ensure we asked for a room overlooking the gardens.
