Tyl is not in the historical Old Town, but the location, in many ways is much better. Hotel is well kept, clean. Breakfast is adequate. Reasonably priced restaurants in the neighborhood with many of the same menu items and English-speaking staff mean you get more for less here. There's a pharmacy and drug store, convenience stores, 2 Metro 4 tram and 2 night trams within visual of the front door. Recommended if you intend to take advantage of Prague's excellent public transport to maximize the ground you can cover. Old town and other sites are easily accessed on foot as well, at the cost of an architecturally stunning 25 min walk.

It was a nice average hotel, the room was big, the beds (single) were small. Stayed 5 nights bedding wasn't changed (don't know if that's usual for 4*?), only 1 pillow asked in the evening for another but couldn't get me one until following day. Hotel staff were helpful & pleasant. 20 min walk to Wencleslas Square all down hill, uphill all the way back! Prague is very 'hilly', didn't use the transport system, walked everywhere but need to be fit to do this.

The receptionist was very friendly and helpful and really wanted us to have a great visit. She went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with every aspect of our stay.

very nice time, but the mattresses of the beds were too soft! Wonderfull breakfast.

The breakfast was excellent. The staff were polite and spoke good English.

This was a perfect hotel for us. It is close to the main train station and the metro. But beyond that the staff is so congenial - and that means all of the reception and the breakfast staff. The hotel is old but in good repair and I do not have a single negative comment to make. Have already recommended it to a friend.

We liked the hotel but it is a little far away from the majority of tourists sites. It is however very close to a subway stop, tram stop, and of the gay bars in Prague. Good if you don't want to be in the thick of things.

this is a nice hotel in a very good location

Very good value for a nicely renovated hotel. Located right next to tram stop but neighborhood is transitional. If you don't take take the 10 minute tram ride to the Old Town Square it is about a 25 minute walk to get to there. Good Internet service in room and very nice breakfast buffet. Just be careful about the information that the desk clerks provide. They try to be helpful but gave misinformation a few times. Also note, finding hotel can be difficult since the street it is on is hard to find.

We loved this hotel. Very convenient (short walk to the metro) and very comfortable. It comes with wonderful breakfast. It is an excellent choice for the price.

very good hotel close to town so could easily walk in, but the tram where so handy we used them, metro was also close.The hotel was really nice with a lovely breakfast each day,also the staff spoke good english and where very helpful with directions and information,only down side we found was the rooms didn't have tea and coffee making facillities.

It's hard to fault the Hotel Tyl. In terms of value for money it's by far the best i've ever stayed in. Location is perfect, close to the underground (IP Pavlova) and near a major tram stop (catch the 22 for the Castle). The room was spacious and the bathroom generous. Top marks go to the receptionist / manager who was extremely helpful and made our stay very pleasant. You have to ask for the air con to be put on but that's no hardship. There are no tea / coffee making facilities but you can always bring a travel kettle if that's really important to you. Local restaurants, bars & cafes are very reasonable and it's only a short walk to Wenceslas square.

El hotel tiene habitaciones grandes pero tienen olor a humedad. Su personal fue muy amable y dispuesto a ayudar si lo necesitasbas. El desayuno esta bastante bien, sin ser nada espectacular. La ubicación no es de las mejores.

La posizione dell'hotel è comodissima, il centro storico è facilmente raggiungibile a piedi o in alternativa con i mezzi che sono a portata di mano. Le camere sono abbastanza pulite anche se i letti li ho trovati scomodi e abbiamo sofferto il caldo. Il buffet della colazione è poco fornito.

Det har været et dejligt ophold på Hotel Tyl. Der er rent og pænt over det hele. Personalet var utrolig venlige og tjenestevillige. Metro og sporvogn ligger inden for 50 meter. Der er en masse lækre restauranter i nærheden af hotellet og ellers spørg personalet. Morgenmaden er som den skal være. Kan virkelig anbefales.

It was so comfortable and the receptionist was also kind. I really appreciate them.

Globalement ok pour le prix, mais matelat en mousse tellement mou que j'ai passé ma dernière nuit sur la moquette pour éviter le mal de dos.Wifi non accessible dans les chambres.

The breakfast is very good and tasty.

DANS L ENSEMBLE CORRECT SI CE N EST LA PROPRETE DE LA CHAMBRE OU L ASPIRATEUR N A PAS ETE PASSE DURANT NOTRE SEJOUR ( 3 NUITS ) HORMIS DANS LA SALLE DE BAIN. PAR CONTRE PERSONNEL DE RECEPTION TRES SERVIABLE ET PETIT DEJEUNER CORRECT.

Die Betten waren sehr schlecht!

Ensinäkin lähellä metro ja ratikoita joilla pääsee kaikkiaelle kun ostaa 1pv tai 3 pv lipun. KFC ja McDonalds lähellä aamu kahvia varten, hotellin aamupala vasta 7:30. Hotelli aula kauni hyvin hoidettu, uuden näköinen, huoneet ei niinkään. Huoneet melko hyvässä kunnossa, siistit, vähän käytössä nuhjaantuneet, esim. sängyt kuluneet ja natisevat, päiväpeito liian iso sängyille. minibaarin avaaminen sattuu sormiin ja tallelokero hyvin pieni kiinni seinässä, sinne mahtuu esim vain kindle, ei isompaa. Respassa hyvin ystävällistä henkilökuntaa, auttoivat mielellään ja kyselivät miten päivä meni. Aamupala kylmä, siis jopa lämpimät ruoat, mutta ihan hyvä kokemus muuten. :) telkussa vain kaksi kanavaa joissa englanninkielistä ohjelmaa BBC and CNN. :( Kaiken kaikkiaan menisin uudestaan. :)

Det var rigtig synd at det var sengene man hade sparet på, selve rammen var meget mindre ind madrassen Ca. 20 cm i hver side plus at madrassen ikke hade været skiftede de sidste 15 år. Der var ikke styr på det depositumet man skulle betale for både mini bar og safety box. vi syntes at beskrivelsen af hotellet var lang fra virkligheden det svære til den dårlige side. God morgen mad.

Opholdet på hotellet var en god oplevelse.Dog må jeg sige, at sengene var lidt for hårde efter vores mening. men ellers var det et fint hotel at boo på.

Tyytyväinen valintaani ja voin suositella.

Super godt hotel, gode store værelser og en fantastisk beliggenhed. Rent og velholdt. Gåafstand til centrum på 10 min. Flere sporvogne og metro lige uden for døren. God morgenbuffet. Rigtig meget for pengene. Kommer gerne igen.

It is a very nice hotel. It is very closed to the metro station (IP Pavlova) and also closed to ancient city center. The hotel staff are kind and helpfull for every time.

Wonderful. Great staff. Great breakfast. Large room. Very close to public transportation. Away from the Old Town tourists.. but close enough to visit if you like that!

Hotellet har trevlig och hjälpsam personal. Jättebra att starta dagen med den goda frukostbuffén som ingår, och hotellet har ca 30-40 meter till både tunnelbana och spårvagn. Att promenera till Karlsbron tar ca 25 minuter.

Ganska enkel frukost mn det fanns det man behöver. Lite segt internet men jättemysigt och fräscht. Prisvärt. Kommer att boka där igen om jag skall till Prag någon fler gång.
