The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort - סנט סימונס איילנד

Beautiful beach, great location. Poor bathroom and room decor. Great breakfast

I think the King & Prince over-priced. The rooms really need to be renovated. The carpeting was very stained and worn. When we booked, we thought the golf course was nearby. It's 12 miles away. The golf course is also over-priced for its condition.

Unfortunately, the hotel was having a lot of work done to the foyer & roof, so it was noisy and bustling with workers; however, once in your room or outside around the pool you were only left with a feeling of satisfaction. The hotel has a feeling of elegance from years past. You don't find older hotels that are maintained as well as this one. The rooms are decorated beautifully and very spacious. You can find seating areas throughout the hotel that face the ocean. I would recommend bringing bikes to ride around the island and explore. Everyone we encountered was very pleasant and helpful. I would return to this hotel.

Our room was sadly in need of a renovation. It appeared to be still back in the 1970's. The rest of the hotel and surroundings were better. Our room was in some sort of annex. Staff nice and friendly though.

The Hotel is due for a make over. It has aged in the last 2 years I have been there.

This building has been remodeled so many times that it has lost its historic feel. The room we had was very up to date with nice windows overlooking a courtyard. It had a very nice pool area.

This trip was a wonderful experience. The villa was beautiful with an amazing ocean front view.

Great maid service- she could tell how much coffee I was drinking and left me lots more packets! - Gracious staff, perfect view from pretty room on a beautifully maintained property! We will be back!

Wonderful Everything, the staff friendly and helpful!!!!!!!

The King and Prince lived up to my expectations. It is a luxury hotel, building is on the National Register of Historic Places (would have been nice if there'd been some literature around to tell you why it was so rated), located right on top of the beach at St Simons. Room was nicely appointed with quality Gilchrist & Soames toiletries and a surprise in a hotel room, hardwood floors with an area rug under the bed. Booked an ocean view room - which turned out to really be a parking lot view with a partial ocean view. But I could still get the sound of the ocean at night with an open window. Food was a bit hit or miss. Breakfast was nothing special but expensive. (Although one could argue that the dining room view was worth the premium.) Coffee bar served their own versions of lattes and frappes so you may be disappointed if you're expecting Starbucks. But the bartender was friendly, conversational without being overbearing, poured a nice drink and the desserts were outstanding. My companion raved about the coconut cake. Building is undergoing renovation so if you go in the next few months, be prepared. I look forward to my next visit to The King and Prince.

Overall, we got value for money here. The location right on the beach is amazing. The outdoor pool area is great, the room was really nice, and the staff were excellent. Where the resort falls short is the quality of food from the restaurant and the overall look and feel of the bar/restaurant/lobby areas. We live in Charleston, so we're spoiled with amazing restaurants, but I still feel I could have cooked a better meal than the one we had at the hotel. For example, I ordered steak, but was not asked how I wanted it cooked. It felt a little as though we were eating at a school and students worked the kitchen. The meal was palatable, for sure, but it wasn't what I would consider restaurant quality. The common lobby area feels like a cross between a small-town shopping mall, a ski lodge and a very old Embassy Suites hotel. The swimming pool in the lobby is down right weird. That being said, I liked it here, and would stay again if the price is right.

Truly enjoyed this hotel. Our room was very spacious with plenty of drawers for clothing.I really appreciated that!! The room also had a small fridge, a Keurig for morning coffee and a very nice balcony. We reserved a room with a "limited ocean view" and were delighted to find a full ocean view between two buildings with very pretty greenery. The pool was large, warm and had plenty of seating. The waiters came by frequently offering ice water with lemons, even if you weren't interested in ordering anything else. The beach is a great place for long walks, swimming, renting small catamarans for sailing,or going kayaking. We did not try the two hotel restaurants so we have no idea of their quality. St. Simon has a lot of very good restaurants so we tried those. Based on what the hotel is like, I thought our room rates were reasonable. We will be back next year.

I was treated well. The hotel was very nice, but the price did not include anything and it was too exspensive. We wanted to play golf on the hotel's course until we found out that we had to drive 12.5 miles to play.

We enjoyed the history and beauty of this hotel. We had a great view of the ocean. We loved sitting in the swings late in the afternoon and watching the tide. Our room was comfortable and furnished with contemporary furnishings.

I was very impressed with how family friendly this resort is! Upon arrival, the front desk gave my 2 year old son a King and Prince crown which of course he loved. They also gave me two extras at check-out in case he lost the original. The location of the resort and the amenities are great. We will definitely be visiting again.

Great place to stay, rich with history. Very convenient for families with kids and fun too!

WE ENJOYED OUR STAY, THE FOOD WAS OK, ONLY HAD THE BUFFET. DID NOT ORDER FROM THE KITCHEN.

Poor maintenance, shredded towels, lies, horrible food, and ocean front rooms are way back from ocean and beach, behind the pool

We paid for and were promised an oceanfront room with wireless access to the Internet. We only had a partial view which is far from being oceanfront. We asked to be moved and were told that our partial view was indeed oceanfront. NOT! Wireless is imperative to keep up with my business. Our wireless access room only received a signal if I stood in one spot in the corner of the room. We complained and a bell men came to our room to show us how to hook up, something I've done dozens of times. When he came up he was mystified as to why none of our 3 iPads and 2 iPhones. He told us it was probably due to the inline obstruction from the router. They did nothing to try to move us. When we first arrived we ate lunch in their restaurant. When I asked the hostess if this was the same dining room that we would also fo for breakfast she answered that they weren't surfing breakfast because it was lunchtime, looking at me as if I was crazy to ask the question she had thought that I asked. The bath towels were either frayed or had holes in them. Some had frayed strings hanging a few inches from the towel. The icing on the cake was the temp control on our shower. It turned loosely 360 degrees and kept going. The temperature was very difficult to set. Caution!! Their so-called oceanfront rooms are all ocean view. There are no rooms near the beach. The distance is about 300 feet. This hotel's advertising is false. Oh, I almost forgot to tell you the my oysters were the toughest I've ever had and my shrimp were mealy. One of them still had the vein in it even though that part of the back had been peeled off. Stay there at your own risk!

With a little reservation. Room was old with fresh coat of paint and a few new appointments. Some of the old stuff was still there. Was in a small building off the main hotel though. The hotel grounds were great looking. Local restaurants were nice. really liked the island atmosphere when driving around town.

We got a great rate for a spacious room with a mini-kitchen. The outdoor pool was closed for construction, which we didn't know about, but it was March, so we didn't really expect it to be open. The restaurant/bar is a little pricey, but good service, good drinks, and good food. The only other downside is that we had a view of the rental apartments across the street where a bunch of spring breakers were partying all night. I guess you get what you pay for!

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. Resturant was a little slow but food was good. My 8 year old enjoyed the heated indoor pool. I would revisit this hotel in the future.

I paid extra for an "oceanfront room". That is a laugh. The room faced a parking lot and the side of the adjacent building. I guess if you looked sideways out the window at an extreme angle, you might catch a glimpse of the ocean, but to call this an oceanfront room? That's really stretching it, certainly not worth the extra money. Also, the pool and hot tub closes at 8 PM, way too early for us! In their defense, the hotel restaurant has some really good food. We most likely will not be staying there again!

The hotel is beautiful and well-situated in St. Simons Island. The food was outstanding and the service was, for the most part, fabulous. The only problem was that the concierge didn't know the island at all. After asking her several questions (she never turned to her computer for answers) about shopping she said that there were not any shops fitting our needs. We used our smart phones and found this to be untrue. She really didn't know anything.

We were completely satisfied!!!

ect location right on the beach. We had a king room which was spacious with double sinks in the bathroom. The hotel was walking distance to some restarants but we had to drive to the pier and lighthouse. If your planning on golfing, be aware that the golf course is off site and is about a 25 min. drive, but it's a beautiful course. The breakfast buffet was great, had everything you could possible think of. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and are planning on coming back.

This hotel is in an excellent location literally on the beach. While hardly new, the hotel is in good shape. The pools are fantastic and there were towels available for pool and beach use around the clock. All in all this is a great place to stay although a little pricey in season.
