Ocean Mist Hotel - South Yarmouth

We liked our stay so much that we would stay there again if we are in the area.

Very happy , I will return if I can afford summer rates

We thought the hotel was beautiful and what a location. The beach was lovely and we really enjoyed hunting for shells. The staff (Andre) and the housekeepers were really nice and very friendly. Can't wait to come back during the regular season. We really enjoyed our stay and the only complaint we had was we were not there long enough!

Fantastic recently renovated rooms. Wish the rates were as low in summer as October, but one can only wish! Super comfy beds, top notch. Great service by the Front Desk Associate too.

Although we enjoyed the room, we were unhappy that neither HBO nor wi fI were available.

Nice renovations...spotless room...on lovely beach...hightly recommend.

Hotel was right on the beach for early morning jogs or evening strolls. They are in the middle of exterior improvements, but were not annoying. It will be just beautiful when they are done. Rooms on second floor with catherdral ceilings and loft were wonderful, and clean and updated. It was nice having a kitchenette too.

The recent updates are very nice. We stayed in a suite with a loft, although it is very spacious the lack of dresser and draws forced us to work out of suitcases. The bathroom I felt could have been expanded. I would not hesitate to repeat this stay as we enjoyed everything.

The room was beyond our expectations and the staff was exceptionally courteous and helpful.

Got a good rate at Hotels.com for this great hotel on the water in So. Yarmouth, MA. Room was large with two queen beds, a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and sink. Bathroom was handicap accessible and large and new. We had two chairs outside our room to sit out on and the beach was at the end of the hotel. There was a swimming pool right at the entrance to the beach. The man at the front desk was very helpful and friendly as were all the staff we ran into. All in all, a very good choice and I would go again.

The room was obviously newly redone from the carpet and furnishings to the bathroom. The convenience of the kitchenette was great and that disposable plates/etc were provided made using the microwave a real convenience. The front desk personnel were wonderful.

It's partly under construction, so there was no in room wi fi, a big inconvenience to us. However, subsequent visitors should be ok

After reviewing tons of hotel to choose the price-friendly hotel, we found this one with very good reviews. Indeed, the hotel was clean, comfortable and very quiet. The view was also good for relaxing holiday.

The size and setup of room was very good. ..beds comfy...nice bathroom...windows in front and back of room...so nice light. Outdoor maintenance being done, but neat. My room was on ground level near stairwell which made for a noisy experience due to foot traffic. would have liked info on nearby restaurants etc. in room...but frontdesk had all tgat info.

the hotel exceeded my expectation!

Loved the location right on the beach and the sunset was spectacular. But having no Internet signal in this day and age is unacceptable. I was traveling on business and really expected to be able get some work done in my room. One helpful hint is there is an excellent Vietnamese restaurant a couple of miles away on Route 28--do not miss it.

The overall stay was quite pleasant and the location was great! I have 2 constructive points to make which are our used, wet towels were left on the floor after the room was serviced and the coffee cream was not checked and replenished. These were minor but important oversights but the overall stay was very pleasant and we definitely will return to the Ocean Mist.

The room was a loft - huge and very comfortable. Some construction re outdoor pool, but it was bearable.

The stay was comfortable, but we paid for a room with an ocean view and could not see the ocean from our window. When I asked the front desk about it they told me that it was a view from the door or first floor. Very disappointing, especially for a 6 year old who can clearly tell the difference. Also, the pictures they show online of an ocean view are very different. This is kind of a turn off.

I honestly could find no fault with this motel. All of their staff were very courteous, friendly and helpful. All of the rooms are done over as is the indoor pool. What a difference a year can make!

We enjoyed our stay. The beach was right there, the room was very nice. It was set in a nice neighborhood and convenient to the main road as well. They were working on the the new in-ground pool and jacuzzi but it will be ready by next summer. It's right next to the beach si it's a nice setting.

We stayed for several days and enjoyed the time. It's right on the water and we could see the ocean from both balconies. The pool inside was not working and the one outside is just being built (we knew that from reading the posts previous to our stay so it was not a shock). The staff is nice and friendly but the property has some issues until the full renovation is done. Some people complained of a musty smell in the room which I didn't quite get but the hallways there was some sense of that (but it's an ocean front motel folks there is bound to be a bit of that). They compensate for the musty hallways (maybe they read previous posts) with automatic airfresheners. The one in our hallway ran low or the battery was dying because it kept making a beeping sound. Additionally there was an every so often sewage smell. At first I thought it was low tide but I think it has more to do with the digging they are doing for the pool. All in all a decent place for a beach getaway - nice clean beack (they rake the seaweed each morning) and the water on the sound this summer was quite warm.

Having stayed at Ocean Mist before, we were very happy with the room renovations that took place this past year. Previously musty with bad carpeting and not-so-comfortable beds, this year we found new everything! The beds, and pillows, were soooo comfortable. Now, I know we were among the first to experience the newness ~ I just hope that other guests are appreciative and respectful enough to keep the rooms in good shape for the upcoming years. Ocean Mist is in the process of installing an outdoor pool and hot tub. Unfortunately, it looks like the pump house will block the ocean view for many of the ground level rooms. Their indoor pool and hot tub are also being renovated which was an inconvenience as many people like to get a little break from the salt and sun of the beach. For my husband and I, we were hoping to relax in the hot tub after a day full of biking, walking and swimming.

This is a beautiful on the shore in a convenient location right near the main road to Hyannis and other places of interest on the cape. The room was very clean and attractive. We had a junior suite with a celing fan, skylight iwth automatic shade, 2 decks and 2 TVs, - both very exciting to my teen daughters. The big problem was that while the rooms are non-smoking people on the level below us smoked on the patio outside of their rooms constantly making it impossible to enjoy sitting on our decks or even to have our sliders open to fresh air. If the property is serious about a non-smoking policy there should be a designated area away from other guests where people are allowed to smoke. They are in the process of building a new outdoor pool right at the ocean edge with a fire pit - I think we'll give this place another try.

The location of the hotel is great. As is the hotel itself. The hotel has a lot of plus points...but lots of minuses too. My husband and I were hot and tired after a long drive to the Cape. We were ready to jump in the pool and cool down and relax. But when we got there, we were told that BOTH!! pools were under maintenance. This is an understatement. Both pools were actually being redone it seemed. (We later found out through another person that the pools have been "under maintenance" for 2 years !) This was our biggest disappointment. After what we paid for this room, there was no indoor pool, no outdoor pool, no firepit, nothing outside (it was all being redone.) They told us we can use the pool at the sister hotel which is very close by. But if anyone has seen the traffic on the Cape, you know that a 5 minute drive is really a half hour away. How inconvenient. I would have hoped they let you know before you book the hotel about the condition of the place. They really should discount the rooms more in this case. for the amount I paid, I could have spent the same amount elsewhere and gotten more amenities. The only other thing that was disappointing was the bed. It was too soft. I sunk in when I lay down on it. My back really hurt the next morning. Other than that, the rooms are beautiful and the hotel has a lot of potential.

Never having booked through Hotels.com, I wasn't sure what kind of quality to expect, but this hotel was really wonderful. Room was very clean and well-appointed, including a microwave and small fridge. Beach was easy to access, clean and not overly crowded. There were two computers in the lobby, which came in handy for checking e-mail, etc. Located just off a busy street, so while there's lots of traffic, it's very accessible to restaurants, etc. yet the hotel itself is quiet. We were very pleased and would definitely stay there again.

Hotel was in a great location and newly refurbished, though the room did smell like dampness and there were the odd wet spots on the carpet. Other than that, it was in a prime location and the beach was soft sands, warm waters, and mostly seaweed free!

This resort just spent millions on remodeling and updating. Our bathroom door was jammed closed we had to shove it hard to open it. The bathroom window would not open, the back window would not stay open. The faucet was missing the aerorator, the water shot everywhere when used. The ac temp was not adjustable, we turned the temp down but the ac never cooled the room down under 75. Everything we put in the freezer thawed out. Check in was @3 pm but our room wasn't ready til 5:20.

We have stayed at many places on the cape over the years. Have never returned to the other hotels. That being said, We will return to the Ocean Mist next year. What a wonderful place. Staff was top shelf. Very nice place to eat a block away , The Skipper Rest. All in all it doesn't get any better than this on the cape. Thanks for a great vacation!

Nice location, both pools were closed for renovation. Not much within walking distance (aside from Skipper).

The Ocean Mist was a lovely place to stay. Our room was very clean , the beds were very comfortable , and the room had a little kitchenette which was very convenient. The staff was very pleasant. The best thing is the easy access to the Beach. A beautiful little private beach with lounge chairs and a gorgeous view. We would definately stay there again and we highly recomend it.

renovated nice luxury rooms, loft suite was very nice and comfortable, brand new bedding. central ac, dining table and chairs, microwave-refrigerator kitchen area. we stayed in summer 2012 and the outdoor pool is being built, and the indoor pool is under repair so no pools were available. the beach is very nice, but I noticed that the adjacent resorts do a better job in cleaning up the beach from the sea weed and shells etc. no room service or restaurant on site, just a hotel but a nice hotel and best price for the area.

Planning a last minute trip to the cape, The Ocean Mist Hotel was one of the few places left with vacancy. With reading some of the negative reviews, we were unsure if this was the place for us. We chose this hotel because by the time we did book, there were no other options for us. We were very surprised to see that we had a brand new room (felt as though we were the first ones there!) and it was amazing to say the least. We stayed in a loft room and were so happy that we wished we couldve stayed for more time. We were able to use the facilities at their sister hotel for the salt pool and hot tub which was beautiful too. We highly recomment this beautiful hotel right on the water. And, it did not have this 'funky smell' of the sea when we were there..

It is very nice hotel but people should be aware that the place is under construction...All so no internet like it said on the web site and no working pool...

This was a great place for a really great price. It's more of a place for families though as is the beach. Nice beach. Very comfortable beds and nice bathroom. A big negative was no wifi in the rooms. If I was to go in that area again I would stay at this hotel.

Newly renovated rooms are the lap of luxury. Softest sand on the Cape. Staff very accommodating in every way. I can't wait to go back, especially when the new outdoor pool is finished.

First of all, we had to listen to an hour of men working right outside our room paving. I went alone with my boyfriend - it was his birthday. The upstairs TV didn't work and instead of having privacy, we had a couple people parading in and out of our room trying to get it fixed. Then we went to sit outside on one of the decks and there was a family right there, 10 feet away. NO PRIVACY WHATSOEVER. The bathroom fan didn't work either. The indoor pool and jacuzzi were NOT working and they were installing an outside pool with jacuzzi that wasn't finished yet. I will never stay in this hotel again. It was the worst hotel I've stayed in at the Cape and I've stayed in many over the last 30 years.

Location was great, but the hotel seemed to be under construction and the pool was closed. I was disappointed that no one informed us of this upon booking. Would have stayed someplace else. Overall nice beach, would probably not stay there again.

Not a bad place just wait another year for them to get on their feet. The hotel was under renovations and parking at night was a problem. On the first day a construction worker busted into the room to replace a hinge. He knocked on the door and i told them we were sleeping then he came in and i had to tell him not now. It was creepy. Will be a nice place to stay next year!!

Other than the pool not being open and the construction it was a nice place to stay. Fairly quiet. I would however stay on the second floor next timeyear as you can hear every footstep from the first. I would probably go there again.
