Holiday Inn Haydock M6 Jct23 - ניוטון-לה-ווילוז

I appear to have expected more than I received by way of the size of our room, I had upgraded to executive room and was hoping to spend the evening in our room, with something to eat from the room service available, but felt the room was too small for this purpose! Went to the bar to have a snack instead and was outnumbered by guests of the wedding party going on in a room next door. However, had a snack in the restaurant, and the food qualily was very good. All in all, I don't feel it was worth the £139 paid for the one night stay!

mobile phone coverage was terrible - suggest you speak to EE about an internal soln.

Accommodation itself was fine however the cost of food & drink was extortionately high for a 3 star hotel so as you'll guess we didn't use much. For instance breakfast at just under £14 & a 250ml glass of wine approx. £8-£9 !!! Needless to say the bar was pretty empty.

Stayed for 2 nights in family room. Hotel is ok with room clean and resonable condition. Breakfast was good in the morning with the quality of the food excellent. Lesuire facillities good. Only critism was that the bar area lacks character and is part of reception. Would stay again as great location for either Liverpool or Manchester attractions.

Lovely, clean, comfortable. Service was excellent and very welcoming. Room was spacious and extremely comfortable.

Very nice hotel, clean and comfortable. First time at this one but stayed at a few Holiday Inns and they are always very good. Did not have breakfast this time but did have a drink in the bar, quite expensive, not much change from 12.00 gbp for a white wine and a bottle of Bud. 10 minute walk to the entrance of Haydock Park. We had an evening meal at the Bay Horse again 10 minutes from the hotel, which was very nice and good value. The drinks were reasonably priced.

Good clean hotel, reasonable restaurant, just a shame they don't have free wifi at least in the lobby. Otherwise it's good for a one night stop and very quiet considering proximity to motorway.

broke our journey to portsmouth. This suited us very well we were very pleased with the hotel the staff were very nice and friendly the receptionist the gentleman was very nice and our room was very clean and most comfortable. we would stay again and make more use of all the facilities that were on hand. thankyou .

I stayed overnight to be in Haydock the next morning. The gym is reasonably well equipped, although they seem to have tried to fit a lot of equipment in, therefore not much space between machines, but that's probably a good compromise. The pool area and changing rooms were well maintained and clean. Food was usual Holiday Inn pricing (i.e. pretty high considering), but have to say the fish and chips was excellent. I also got a free bottle of water and lucky dip entry as a Priority Club member, and won a free movie which helped pass the evening, although would never have paid £8.50 to watch Battleship otherwise! Overall, perfectly adequate for an overnight business trip.

It was very nice and the staff were very plesant. The only complaint we had was our room seemed to have some kind of spillage on the carpet from the bathroom accross and it didnt seem to have dried out but otherwise our stay at hotel was very plesant.

We stayed here on our way up to the Lake District. On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist. Our room was very clean and spacious - nice bathroom. We paid £10 for a pre-paid breakfast voucher and the breakfast was plentiful and tasty. This has got to be one of the quietest hotels i have ever stayed in. I would highly recommend this hotel.

A convenient Location for motorway. Easy to get to clear directions. Clean comfortable rooms. Excellent choice of breakfast which was a great set up for the day.

Friendly staff and a great place to stop on our journey north.

Stayed here to break journey from Scotland to Portsmouth. Ideally located just off the motorway but no motorway noise noticed. Be careful if using postcode on the sat nav as mine took me the wrong side of the roundabout. Directions on the website are perfect and I wish I hadn't relied on the sat nav! Lovely clean double room with fold out bed all made up. Plenty of towels and bathroom was bright and clean. Used the swimming pool and jacuzzi which were clean and in good condition. Steam room was being refurbed. Staff throughout the hotel were very pleasant and helpful, in particular the bar staff made us very comfortable in the evening and made a great effort with my little boy. Would definitley stay here again.

Nice location in the countryside beside Haydock Racecourse but soulless Hotel type 'Motel' near the M6. Efficient for a stopover but not a lot more. The Leisure Centre is quite busy with mostly locals who are not staying at the Hotel and tend to block up the facility. When we stayed the Steam Room was under repair and the Jacuzzi was almost unbearably hot. Free parking was great but the prices charged for drinks in the bar was excessive. Quiet room with comfortable beds and a nice touch was the ability to request a specific type of pillows from Housekeeping and without charge. Overall -could do better -but acceptable for an overnight...

Never stayed in a Holiday Inn before, and only booked as everywhere else is full. After this experience, I would certainly consider them from now on, if the price is right. From the service at the reception, to the breakfast buffet, everything was customer focussed and friendly

The self-service breakfast buffet included everything you might want, but the fried eggs and bacon had been long cooked, and there were only loaf crusts left until we asked for fresh slices. Outside the restaurant we have no criticism of the hotel, all the staff were friendly and helpful.

Quiet location considering how close it is to the m6. Staff are very good and were very attentive in the restaurant when I had dinner there. Also the menu was quite original and varied. only let down was 15 pounds for WiFI , I can buy a 3G stick for that!

Excellent hotel with friendly staff and very comfortable room.

Connsidering it was a saturday when we checked in the price even for just room only was fantastic, It was close to all my requirements as it was used as a base to visit family. Felt comfortable and at ease during my stay.

Stayed here for 1 night as went to Haydock races. Perfectly located for the racecourse, 10mins walk and your at the gates. Didn't pay for breakfast, but there is a Weatherspoons pub in Ashton in Makerfield, 5mins drive which did an outstanding cooked breakfast. Will be using hotel again for sure.

Just a bit tricky to find as there were no signs as you come off the motorway, needed to head for Haydock and commercial area. Got there late just used as a stop over but room very clean and staff helpful on arrival.

The hotel is located away from town in a quiet location near a park. The indoor swimming pool and spa facilities were a pleasant surprise and we enjoyed the use of the facili tiies during our stay. The bg disappointment was during checking out when we were charged an additional amount of £50/ plus. After showing proof of the booking the amount was then refunded and it took much longer than expected. In other Holiday Inn hotels I had never experience such hassle and poor service at the reception.

The hotel is very pleasant, conveniently located and, if you book ahead, pretty cheap. Does what you need it to do, and not much more, and can't complain. Walls are a bit thin though. Staff very happy to move our room away from the noisy lady and her baby.

Good hotel but requires you have a car. Nice and clean rooms.
