At the End of the Road Bed & Breakfast - וולקנו

Right next to the Volcanoes National Park, the B&B was conveniently located (for us). The hosts are a nice, warm couple and the house is a quaint little place for an overnight stay. There are only 4 places to eat nearby though (which was OK with us). Our GPS didn't quite recognize the house number but the place is literally at the end of the street mentioned in the address.

Very convenient location. Ray was a great host and gave us alot of background information about the area and Hawaii.

Ray and Lana were super-welcoming and accommodating. Really helpful in finding our way around, too. Loved this jewel and we will go back.

We stayed one night as our base for exploring volcanoes national park. Ray supplied excellent service and had great recommendations on what sights to see during our short stay. We would definitely stay here on a return trip to Hawaii.

At the End of the Road is a Bed and Breakfast less than 1/2 an hour from the Jaggar Museum in Volcanoes National Park. Since the Jaggar is the best place to go view Kileaua's lava lake or its reflection every night, it's really great to have a place to stay closeby. At End of the Road, you'll find your own bed and bath in a beautifully situated country home. In addition, guests have the run of the living room with TV and internet access. Breakfast features Hawaiian produce in kindly and interesting conversations about the area with the owners. They are also informed and responsive to questions about other area attractions and hikes/tours/flights to the area where lava is flowing into the ocean.

Very homey -- quite literally their home with three rooms for guests. It was a bit cold at night and the window drapes let light in through quite easily so I didn't sleep all that great. However, the hosts are incredibly nice and flexible and the location is great right near volcano. Definitely check out the Kalapana volcano tour which the host can give you info on, go at about 3:30 pm and it's $100 per person.

We had Killi's room. Very clean,comfortable and quiet. Innkeeper Ray was very helpful with advice regarding the Volcano Park which was VERY close by. The room rate was very reasonable and better than any of the other local B and B's. We will be back

I usually don't do reviews, but I think this bed and breakfast is so good that I have to say something about it. I and my friend were visiting Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The location of this place is literally at the end of a road and very close to the Park. If you were planning to get the most out of the park, this is the place to stay. The owner is incredibly nice and friendly. We felt like visiting an old friend. The tips and suggestions from the owner were super useful, such as where to eat, what to do, best time to do so, etc. We were taken very good care of during our stay. Highly recommended!

Lonnie and Roy took very good care of us from the moment we arrived until our departure. They gave us tips on visiting Volcano National Park, and were kind enough to make a couple phone calls regarding a tour in which we expressed an interest. They welcomed our 12 year old son. If you are visiting the park, I would highly recommend booking the (limited) accommodations well in advance of your stay. Spending the night in Volcano is a bonus as it allows ample time to view the volcano's night time "glow", then drive leisurely back to the B & B. The roads are dark and I would not recommend driving all the way back to Kona which many people opt to do. We arrived "At the End of the Road" during the day and could read the street signs. We had a continental breakfast with fresh ground coffee at 7:30am, and had the rest of the day to hike in the park.

This B&B was just as the other reviewers described. The home was very nicely decorated, clean, and inviting. We stayed in Kili's Room, which was perfect for the three of us. Our son enjoyed watching their horse and goats roaming around the back of their property in the morning. The animals didn't make a peep and we found the place to be very, very quiet. We also had our own bathroom which was a plus. It is very close to Volcanoes National Park and is easy to find, as it is truly "At the End of the Road" on Haunani Road. Just keep driving past the Dead End sign until you run out of road. You will see their gate and recognize the B&B immediately from the picture. This was our first experience with a B&B and we really enjoyed our stay. Ask for the local papaya if it's available, it was delicious. Thank you Lani and Ray, you guys were great!

This bed and breakfast was a nice place to stay, we got an ok welcome amd the room was comfortable and clean. We felt a little on edge because of the house rules, we were on vacation and felt like we were intruding someone's home a little. There are some nice eateries close by and the volcano is definatley worth seeing. The breakfast was a little slim and not fully satisfying.

Clean, Safe and Friendly. Really enjoyed our stay at End of the Road. Was a little leery about staying in a home B and B but it turned out to be a great choice. Highly recommend , we will be back.

At the End of the Road B&B is a great location if you're looking for a place near Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The home was very clean and the hosts were friendly. 5 mins to restaurants and the park and 40 mins to Puna and Hilo areas. *Be aware this property is smoke and alcohol free- not a deal breaker but some of us like to do some drinking on vacation!

Perfect location for visiting Volcanoes National Park. You can visit the Park in the evening to view the glow of the volcano lava if you can brave the dark roads! The B & B provides flashlights. The B&B is very well organized. The hosts were away on our arrival & provided excellent instructions for us to enter. Breakfast was a bit simple. Comfortable bed in a quiet, Hawaiian atmosphere with privacy from the hosts. Bring your own hairdryer, tho', as Kili's room didn't have one. Also, don't wander onto any side road near the B&B as they are primative.

I booked this B&B for two nights since I was visiting Volcanoes National Park. The location was excellent and the price was right. However, when I first arrived, I couldn't get in because there is an electronic gate, and the owner must see you to let you in. I went back a few hours later and waited 5 minutes before she saw me. When I entered the home, I was immediately hit with the smell of dog. Not just a little smell, but it STANK. I have no problems with animals in the house, and I understand they can leave some odor, but this was ridiculous! I wasn't allowed to roll my 50+ pound suitcase over her laminate flooring (which she called "hardwood"). My room didn't smell (I guess the dogs aren't allowed in there) but she has a private office across from my room, so the hallway reeked, too. There's a note in the bathroom indicating that women aren't allowed to use the towels/washcloth to take make up off but must use kleenex, which wasn't even in the bathroom. The towels were hunter green, so I'm not sure why taking my makeup off was going to soil them so badly. The breakfast was lackluster and sparse. The options were a bagel, English muffin or toast. The condiments were parsed out in very small quantities (the jelly just colored my bagel, and I wasn't offered any extra) And a small dish of papaya was offered. All in all, it's the same breakfast I expect from Days Inn, and that's not saying much. The sitting area had a huge TV with almost any channel you could want, but again, the smell of dog was so overpowering! I ended up using my travel can of lysol to mask the smell. Overall, the entire place needed a good dusting and some sweeping (there were dust bunnies and cobwebs in the corners). I would not stay here again, and I wouldn't recommend it to others.

The hosts were great and met us at the door with a big smile - made us feel comfortable right away. We stayed in the room with attached ensuite, which is big enough to have an entire family there, and has windows on two sides of the room, overlooking the garden. As another reviewer noted, there isn't a window covering in the bath but there also aren't any properties overlooking that window. Breakfast was refreshing and we enjoyed our morning conversations with the hosts in the kitchen. The location is convenient to Volcano Park and Green Sand beach, and I would definitely stay there again. Super clean, super quiet, super lovely hosts, and how can you beat the price?!?

I stayed here only one night and was expecting your standard, shared-house b&b experience but it was nice to find out upon arriving that that the room I was given was more motel style than b&b. It offered more privacy than expected, which for me is definitely a plus. I was greeted by a very friendly innkeeper and his two dalmations. There was a very tasty breakfast in the morning in the shared, self-serve, guest kitchen. I should mention the kitchen is also detatched from the rooms so it lessens the disturbance of other guests washing dishes etc. while you are trying to sleep in. Overall I was pleasantly surprised.

I felt compelled to write a review for this place. I would recommned it to anyone. Very clean and beautiful accomodations. Friendly owners. Great value for your money.

This property is amazing. Your hosts are great and very nice people who will help you with anything. Be prepared to share a home with them - if you decide not to stay here, however, you will miss the nicest and cleanest room we have seen in the US. With warm blankets :-) You can order whatever you like for breakfast and when eating it your hosts will give you information aout what to do in the Big Island and how to do it. In addition, the property is in the Volcano village very close to Hawaii Volcanoes NP.

This B&B is a good value, clean and comfortable, conveniently located, with a 15-20 minute drive to Volcano National Park. The owner is friendly, and offers great advice about what to do and see in and around the park.

Très bon souvenir. Lani nous a gentiment accueilli dans sa maison et nous a donné plein de conseils de visite à Volcano. La chambre était vraiment très coquette, et quel calme ! endroit idéal pour se reposer après de longues journées de randonnées.

Ray et Lani les propriétaires sont très agréables et discrets à la fois. Leur belle propriété est située au calme, dans un coin très proche du parc des volcans. Un B&B à recommander assurément.

Ce Bed § Breakfast se trouve très proche du National volcano park. Les propriétaires sont très sympa et l'accueil très British (wifi et petit déjeuner gratuit). Sachez toutefois qu'il n'y a que trois restaurants et un petit commerce à volcano donc prendre ses précautions. Nous avons passé deux nuits agréables.

We stayed two nnites there. The owner was a so good gentleman and his wife took care of us so much and she gave us so much nice information on the area. We followed the guide information and enjoyed a nice stay on Volcano and Hilo area. We can recommend every tourist to stay more at this inn.

b&b tres calme et très agréable. Très bien situé pour les amoureux de la randonnée qui veulent profiter du parc national des volcans. nous avons été très bien reçus.

Durch feste Frühstückszeiten ein wenig eingeengt. Wirklich am Ende der Straße.

Je ne suis pas un adepte du B&B mais je reconnais que celui ci etait trés pratique pour se rendre au volcan (10 Mm en voiture)petit dejeuner trés copieux mais vous êtes vraiment chez les hotes dans leur cuisine et moi j'aime mieux l'intimité a par ça le proprio est charmant.

Sehr nahe am Vulcano NP in Hawaii. B&B ist ok. Etwas "strenge" Regeln. Für 1 od. 2 Näche ok

Absolut bestens gelegen um den Volcano Nationalpark zu besuchen. Empfohlene Aufenthaltsdauer: zumindest 3 Tage

ce b&b est très agréable, les propriétaires sont charmants , nous font eux mêmes le petit déjeuner tout en discutant avec nous la chambre est très calme , la maison respire la quiétude et le bonheur

Nettes familiäres von einem älteren Ehepaar geführtes kleines B&B. Die Eigner sind auch sehr nett und helfen einem gern weiter bei Fragen zur Reiseplanung etc. Liegt direkt im Volcano NP...jedoch gaaaanz am Ende der Strasse wie der Name schon sagt. Am besten nicht im Dunkeln ankommen, damit man den Weg findet! ;-)

Muy bien situado para ir al parque natural. Muy limpio. Muy agradables los dueños, muy colaboradores a la hora de explicarte qué ver y a dónde ir. El desayuno podría ser mucho mejor. Cada habitación debería tener un baño (pero creo que en América son así todos los B&B)
