Enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and the pool. The room was big and very clean however I didn't receive any roomservice cleaning during my stay. My towels didn't get replenished & trash wasn't taken out but it wasn't a huge concern of mine. I had a nice stay and loves the location. We walked to the Galleria! Very nice hotel and I would recommend it to friends mostly because of the location and breakfast! Friendly service was also a plus.

Our stay was very comfortable. We had a 2bd 2ba room which was very roomy. Although the hotel needs a bit of updating our room was clean, staff was very friendly, breakfast contained a variety of hot and cold items, and location was superb! Will return again in the future!

The good: Walking distance to The Galleria. Tha not so good: the room air condition is too noisy

Everything was great about the suite, the setup, kitchen and the patio. The AC unit running caused excessive noise but we just turned it off while on the patio.

Although the hotel is showing its age a bit, the service and location make up for it. Good value hotel with great amenities.

The whole place was clean. The room was big. The neighborhood is nice and safe. We attended a graduation at UofH and it was easy to hop on the highway to get there. The breakfast was one of the best we have had at a hotel. 12 year old said the pullout sofa bed was comfortable. We were very happy with everything and we got a GREAT rate. We will stay here for our next trip to Houston.

Much better than the previous hotel I was in. 2 min walk to Galleria ( loads of shops). Easy access to Houston. Plenty of Bars & Resturants nearby. Nice surroundings, low noise, friendly staff, very relaxing.

I thought in all great area, great hotel. A little outdated but still very nice. Very spacious 2 bed rm suite!!

The staff was very courteous and helpful. Everything was great.

I've read several reviews either hear or TripAdvisor that were negative. Those people must be High Brow snobs that only stay at 5 Star Properties. Every person we interacted with...from front desk, to breakfast, to housekeeping was polite...happy and engaging. Breakfast was very good...great selection and always a hot option. Could the rooms use some maintenance and upkeep...absolutely? But nothing that was in serious neglect. Our overall 5 day stay was all we needed. Comfortable beds, hot showers, remotes for tvs, fridge for beer and quiet. Very nice surrounding neighborhood...close to food and Galleria. We drove down to Geo Brown Convention Center (Thurs/Fri - about 30 min drive) and (Sat/Sun - about 15 min drive.)

Very good room size

This hotel was just perfect for us. It was clean and comfortable, and the staff were courteous and helpful beyond the normal call of duty. For the price I paid, I was expecting a nightmare experience but it was the exact opposite. There were even bonuses I didn't expect, like access to shops and restaurants a minute or two walk away, free wifi evening social gatherings with nibbles provided and early breakfast opening hours. The decor and furniture may be slightly outdated but I didn't care. The breakfast could be more imaginative too. Highly recommended.

The hotel is in a great location. It's just steps away from The Galleria and minutes away from major highways. I booked thru Expedia and it was a breeze when I check-in and out. The room is really nice. I liked that the kitchen came with a full size refrigerator, pans, utensils, and a microwave. Next time I come to Houston, I will be staying here again.

Great people at the front desk. Uncomfortable beds.

The woman at the front desk was very nice and helpful but housekeeping was the worst I've ever seen. I've NEVER had a problem with the housekeeping staff at any other hotel but this time was different. They were so rude... we stayed three days and they didn't bother emptying trash cans, refill shampoo/soap, coffee etc... Check out is at noon and they waited outside our door for us to leave at 11, watching us taking stuff to our car. Told them we had a lot to do so we'd be a while but they still waited, for almost an hour, it was so awkward . I will not stay here again.

I'd stay here again. I wasn't blown away, but it gets the job done. The staff was really friendly.

The hotel needs updating. The wall in the shower has cracked paint. The carpet is old and a little smelly. Furniture is dated 1990's? Service was okay, I cooked which was nice to be able to do. The maids did not leave towels, did not really clean the kitchenette area. I had to call downstairs for towels. I always leave a tip daily, but it did not seem to help the service. I will not stay there again.

Overall experience with this hotel was awesome from check-in to check out. All of the staff were friendly and always went above and beyond to help us, especially Yana- she was exceptional and made us feel so comfortable. On our last day there, we were running behind and Yana was able to accommodate a late check out for us and was understanding to our situation. Upon check out, staff was kind and check out was less than 2 minutes! In addition to the great staff and customer service, the rooms were spacious beds were comfortable & room was, equipped with all we needed including a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, sink, dishes and toaster! Hotel offered free breakfast and free parking. Location was awesome!!! Less than a minute walk from Galleria, lots of shops, restaurants and only a few miles to Houston attractions and outlets nearby. I absolutely recommend this hotel and wish we could've stayed longer. Looking forward to staying there again.....GREAT HOTEL!!!!!!!!!!.

Staff was wonderful to me, my baby & my dog! Everything I needed & more! Love the social hour in the evenings! Thanks! We will now be booking this hotel for our annual shopping trip! :-)

It was a very interesting stay. One morning the hotel provided me a carton of spoiled & expired milk. To be honest if the lady who puts together breakfast wasn't so nice I would raised a very loud complaint.

After checking in and getting to the room, we noticed the air conditioning was broken. Called the front desk and was basically told the maintenance man couldn't make it until first thing the next morning. So after a very warm night, got up early waiting for him to come. He never showed up, so called the front desk again. They had no record of the problem, so apparently the night shift did not report it. Maintenance finally arrived, spent 5 minutes looking at it, then said he would be back in 20 minutes. An hour and 10 minutes later, I had to call the front desk yet again asking when he would be back. He showed up soon afterwards. Then finally an hour later we had air conditioning. So in total, we spent over 12 hours at the hotel in an 80 degree room. The location of the hotel was literally the only positive, as all in all it was a very negative experience and I will not stay at this hotel again.

Front desk manager was extremely nice and provided exceptional service. I was able to check in before check-in time which was a plus for me. The location was also a big plus because it was walking distance to the Galleria Mall. The room was clean and when I asked for extra towels, they were brought to my room in no time. My favorite part of all has to be the breakfast buffet! Bagels, fresh eggs, sausage, oatmeal, coffee, tea, the works! I had a great bfast but I do wish they extended the bfast hours to at least 11am. I mean if you are on vacation you would like to sleep in right? But overall this is a great hotel I highly reccommend it. I will definitely stay here in my next visit

The Sonesta ES is a former staybridge and they kept the staybridge amenities and traditions alive and well. The staff is outstanding and really make this place standout. The deteriorating condition of the hotel and unusable internet connection hurt what could be a fantastic property. Mold on my bathroom ceiling, a dvd player that didn't work, a burner on the stove that didn't work, a short in the clock radio cord that caused it to reset if it was moved...all things that shouldn't exist in a Brand like Sonesta

Our room was clean, although the hotel is showing it's age. The staff was friendly and the quality of the complimentary breakfast was above average. For the price, I think it was a great value for the area.

Staff was good and polite, shorthanded sometimes. Had a few issues resolve quickley. Last day key to room and doors would not work and same with replacement card. Overall comfortabe room and very little outside or inside noise.

Room had mold on the roof of the kitchen, the kitchen corner and in the bathroom. Multiple noise complaints the last night from a bunch of high school age kids haveing a party in the room above us. Noise finally ceased at 4AM. Staff apologized but never kicked out the over capacity room.

I traveled to Houston with my husband for our anual vacation trip. This was our first time in TX, so we didnt really know were to stay, nor we had a reference. Let me tell you, Sonesta ES Suites was everything we needed for our trip: walking distance to The Galleria mall, the Waterwall, plenty restaurants, very clean and upscale neighborhoods, and great location to access highway routes to all Houston attractions. We stayed for 10 days, and the staff was very friendly, free parking, free breakfast, free evening snacks and beverages that could easily pass for dinner. The rooms were big, with a well equiped kitchen with lots of utensils (I made pasta dinners from scratch and I had every utensil I needed), a living room area, 2 TV's, and nice bathroom. We had a problem with no hot water the last 5 days of our stay, and they offered us another room; we chose not to move because we were settled there with all our clothes on closets and food in the kitchen, but every time we needed to shower, they would give us key of non occupied rooms for it and also we got an instant refund for the equivalent of 3 days with taxes. They were very responsive, I loved the service. Reccomendations: Upgrade internet speed and clean the bathrooms (We stayed for 10 days and every day the housekeeper just changed towels, organize and made the bed. After 4 days of use, the bathroom must be cleaned!). Overall, we really loved our stay, this hotel is not big, but every detail on it makes it feel like home!

Read a couple of reviews and was hesitant. But after much consideration I wanted to see for myself. Loved the location. Staff was very warm and friendly. Room was very nice and clean. Checked in on a friday afternoon and everything was great. Saturday morning I went to the morning breakfast and it was pretty good. Need to have a few more items such as hash browns and sausage patties. The bacon was obviously microwaveable. But all in all it was pretty good. Now the downside. After breakfast it was time to hit the town. Went to take a shower and there was NO HOT WATER. With the temp that morning in the 40's. Come back later that afternnon to get ready for a night on the town and guess what? NO HOT WATER...STILL. By this time the maintenance was already gone for the day. Next morning, water was working but after the fact. Gotta love Febreze. Management suggested I contact the company I booked the room from. Contacted Hotel.com and a $100 voucher has been sent for a future hotel stay. Despite the water issue I will go back to this hotel.

Great location, better price than hotel in the area. In this visit I had an issue with the water temperature, 2 days of warm water, 1 day only cold, 1 day only hot and finally 1 day of correct temperature. A bit surprise that I never heard from the manager. But I will take it as a one time problem the location and price makes up for it. I prefer this hotel because it has a full kitchen, that way I am not forced to eat all the time in restaurants.

No hot water.

Three days with no hot water. they totally downplayed it and said it is being worked on no worry. Next Day would arrive, and still no hot water in the AM or all day long. Offered no accommodation whatsoever. Just not acceptable, shades of Carnival!

Bathroom shower nozzle broken, terrible kitchen ventilation, needs updating!

Loved it! Definitely plan on staying there again!

I liked the location, the room set up, and the staff was very helpful...however, I intended on having a cozy getaway holed up in our room because the weather was really bad and we have a baby. The profile on Hotels.com says there are pay movies, and that is NOT the case. There is a DVD player, so we just hit up a RedBox and rented, but the room did not have one of the amenities I rented it for in the first place. The hotel staff was polite and apologetic, but I was still inconvenienced by having to leave in cold, pouring rain with an infant.
