Overall was fine. Room is nice as I took pool access. Pool area is great. But the TV satellite signal sucks bad time! Grainy signal or even freezed screen on certain channels. So my advice is don't bother watching TV. Wanna watch TV just go back home and watch. Location of the hotel is good with slightly 10mins walk to Karon beach plus surrounding amenities like shops and restaurants. Less crowded comparing to Patong area. Which is good!

Great place to stay if you want an alternative to Patong Madness. Free Wifi, Free Breakfast and great modern hotel rooms.

There are always ups and downs to a resort, however, as a cheap holiday the sugar palm was ok, not a bad location, short walk from the beach, rooms were clean and tidy, staff were unfriendly, pool absolutely filthy. Use as a last choice.

nice hotel , I will back agine

It was a great family holiday. The hotel was very good at trying to provide u with everything. Staff were helpful. I had two problems in the hotel. One was a leaking air conditioner which was fixed straight away. Second was phone would not dial any outside hotel number. It was a small problem. The tour of phi phi island was 10 out of 10. A great relaxing holiday.

The location of The Bliss was superb in my opinion. It was right across from Patong beach, and since every single room has a sea view, you can admire beautiful sunrises and sunsets from your room itself. The hotel is in a much quieter part of Patong, so noise is not so much of a problem. A walk to Bangla Street took about 10-15 minutes, but on the way there there are plenty of shops, so you might be a bit sidetracked. Restaurants are plenty all within 1 minute walk of the hotel, and the hotel itself also has booking services for tours and even motorcycle rentals, so you're pretty set there. Our room was clean, although not carpeted. We stayed in the older building, so the decor was a little dated and the toilets weren't as pristine, but no major issues. Bed was very very hard, but no backache when you wake up in the morning. Pillows however were a little flat, so you might be uncomfortable. Overall the hotel was a bargain, breakfast was great and staff was excellent. They also have free rental of beach towels so your stay is really as fuss-free as you can imagine!

Me and my husband stayed at Sugar Palm Karon for 1 week in March,and was really satisfied. The location could not be any better!! - 2 minutes to the beach and right in the walking street with all of the shops in the heart of Karon, really nice :) We had a room with a pool acces and that was just SO NÌCE. The room was beautiful, clean, nice and very cozy and the pool was really good. The breakfast was nice and we where overall very satisfied. The bed was great, good cleaning. If i can say anything bad is it the internet connection wich was very poor and the staff could not speek english and did not know anything about the IT system, so that was not so nice :( but everything else was perfect and i can really recomend this hotel for both familys and couples. Karon is a nice quit town with a good beach and nice restaurant :) If i come back i will stay at Sugar Palm again. Great value for money.

THIS HOTEL HAD A VERY GOOD, LARGE SELECTION BREAKFAST. THEY MAKE YOUR EGGS FRESH FOR YOU WHILE YOU WATCH. THE LOCATION IS CLOSE TO THE BEACH AND SHOPPING. THERE IS A LARGE SELECTION OF DVD'S TO CHOOSE FROM. WE FOUND AN EXCELLENT TRAVEL/TOUR SERVICE BETWEEN THE HOTEL AND THE BEACH-ENCELLENT! THE HOTEL WAS CLEAN AND THE SERVICE WAS GOOD. WE WOULD GO THERE AGAIN.

staff friendly and accomadating- had booked pool view after reading reviews but got upgraded upon arrival to pool access and the privacy factor wasnt an issue in my opinon. nice touch with the free drinks in the mini bar and the apple tv. walls are thin and the pool tiles need a good scrub.

Sugar Palm is a nice hotel with a very friendly staff. The surroundings are good with a long beach within five minutes walk. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

The interior of the hotel is bleak. There are no pictures, paintings, colors, anything. Walking down the main passage it looks like a government building. The room is also lacking in any decor, except color accent pillows. On arrival I complained about the cigarette smell. The opened the window and said there was no other room available, except on the first floor. Those rooms had a view of a concrete wall one meter away that separated two hotels. I took the room and got used to the smell. The pool looks good from a distance, but the algae in the tile grout indicates there is a problem with cleanliness. The waterline of the pool looks like it was never scrubbed clean. It seems they are using a salt water system, but it is not very effective. The location at the corner of two main streets and a few hundred meters from the beach is very good. The town itself is depressing looking. It is a typical small Thai town. The sidewalks are covered in motorbikes so people walk in the streets. Wires hang down off the telephone poles. They are a major tourist destination. They should do better.

Very good location .

Nice. The location is great with the beach and the Karon town with a few miniutes walk. However, the housekeeping service is a little bit disappointed. We found that they never clean up your finished dishes of the room service even we had put them in front of our hotel room. We had finally put them to the restaurant ourself.

I would give 3 star for the hotel, so if u expect more - don't do it, in general nice place to stay and enjoy neighborhood of nice bars, restaurants, massage places and of course BEACH!

Hotel for price was ok. Location was great, service from staff good, facilities adequate to enjoy the holiday and a great pool. Features in room made rainy days easier to pass by as they were fitted with lcd and dvd players plus cable tv. Some areas which need addressing or improvement would be breakfast. Flies, bee's and all sorts of insects all over the food. Quality was poor and no variety. Beds were super hard to making enjoyment of sleep close to impossible.

The hotel was very modern and the quality of the hotel service went above and beyond what we expected. The price of the rooms was so cheap and the service was brilliant, even with the language barrier. Have already recommended to friends and will continue to do so and will stay there again if I ever visit Thailand again.

I stay in sugar palm kata for a night and this for a night! this is slightly smaller as it is in the heart of the centre, 5 minutes to the beach! But compare to patong, this is a much more better place, and just 5 minutes away, there is a local night market and u can get tastier and cheaper food there ( as living expenses in phuket is quiet high). If you like beach with strong wave, this is one of the best choice!

I booked this hotel based on the reviews i read here. The price is very good, the room are huge (especially the bath room), the beds are big and comfy. The location is great - we r just 1 street away from Karon beach (about 5 mins walk). Forget about the breakfast in the hotel that is way too expensive. Local cafes does better breakfast at 10% of the price. when booking tours, pls DO NOT just compare price. We booked a really cheap day cruise to PhiPhi island and really regret it. Other similar tours that are slightly more expensive are better.

Great hotel, close to the beach, huge pool. Request a poolside room, preferably first floor. Breakfast buffet too expensive, very good restaurants nearby. Don't signup for any tours on the ride from the airport. It's much cheaper at the local tour brokers.

Close to beach , close to bars and restaurants, but just far enough to be quiet. nice modern rooms, good breakfast, quiet pool, good value for price.

This hotel is quite affordable and really good value for money. The breakfast is delicious and fantastic. The hotel room is clean and spacious. It has a lovely pool. Overall the decoration is modern and just nice for family trip. Furthermore, it is just 2 min walk to Karon Beach for sun bathing and swimming, and close to a street full of shops, restaurants, fruit stores and massage places. Very convenient.

Hi!! Well the hotel is quiet good specially the rooms facing the swiming pool as the view is nice. I was on the 4th floor the room was well equipped, mineral water free, razonable prices for the room because was out of season. Telephone calls very expensive. Parking and wifi for free. I recomend this hotel specially for couples who want to have quiet place to walk and not to much people and noise. My regards to everyone Haribol!

This is a good hotel even if the nice design has been used heavily. I moved down the street to Keta beach and stayed with the same hotel chain and it was a much better experience (nicer area) for not that much more.

The hotel was nicer than we expected considering that is was not one of the most expensive hotels in the Karon Beach area. It location is very convenient (2 min walk to the beach and right by a lot of shops and restaurants). The rooms were clean and spacious. The staff were helpful and the pool area is very nice. The only negative comment was that the hotel room walls were quite thin and so we could hear quite a bit of noise from the corridor. This only disturbed us on the first night though. In general, I would recommend this hotel.

The hotel was wonderful and gave us much more than we expected. The pool was beautiful and we were literally 3 blocks from Karon beach itself. The room was clean and tidy when we checked in and the layout of the hotel is wonderful. Lots of fun shops and resturants literally steps away.

Отдыхали с друзьями на майские праздники в этом отеле. Удачное расположение, близко пляж (5 минут пешком), рядом отличный массажный салон, много ресторанов и кафе, до Патонга езать минут 10-15 на тук-туке. Хороший и разнообразный завтрак на любой вкус (я был на посту и для меня там нашлось много постой еды). Отличный и большой бассейн, уборка номера каждый день (каждый день меняли постельное белье, халаты). Мы с друзьями остались очень довольны, что выбрали этот отель.

Da vi ikke var tilfredse med værelserne blev vi flyttet til deres søsterhotel Sugar Marina i Kata. Dette hotel var rigtig godt til prisen of var meget anbefalelsesværdig.

Sammenlignet med andre hoteller i området får du nok mye for pengene her. Jeg bodde noen netter på et hotell i samme prisklasse bare noen hundre meter unna. Det kunne ikke måle seg. Stort og fint rom med utgang rett i bassenget fra balkongen. Bassenget strekker seg i front av 14 rom, så det må være 50 meter langt. Veldig fint å kunne ta på badebuksa om morgenen og ta seg en skikkelig svømmetur rett utenfor balkongdøra. Minibaren inneholdt to flasker vann, en cola, en juice og en øl pr dag, alt inkludert i romprisen. Skal du til Karon og ønsker et hotell i denne prisklassen, kan Sugar Palm absolutt anbefales.

Tyvärr var vi inte uppmärksamma att halva delen av hotellet har rum utan balkong. Vi lyckades boka ett rum utan balkong. Poolområdet saknar parasoll och då det har sol hela dagen blir det nog väldigt varmt om man vill stanna vid poolen under dagen. Städningen var kanske inte den bästa och den delen av hotellet där vi bodde är ganska sliten. Viss bättringsmålning har gjorts. Frukosten är bra, saknade inte något. Det fanns alltid lediga platser att välja på när man kom dit. Även läget är bra, nära stranden och shopping.

Все хорошо, но отель уже староват и простоват, внутри пора сделать ремонт. В отеле одни русские люди. Номер достаточно чистый, но встречаются места, которые никто не чистит, например, известка на кафеле в ванной. Обслуживание на 4-ку, никаких нареканий. Отель расположен в отличном месте, рядом есть все: пляж, массаж, куча едален, химчисток, магазинов, баров, такси

Alle billeder vedr. hotellet på Hotels.com's hjemmeside er fra den renoverede del af hotellet, vores værelse (standardværelse) var beliggende i den anden del af hotellet som var i en meget dårlig stand. Der blev udført maler arbejde med en stærk lugtende maling på gang arealer. Generelt kan siges at standen på denne del af hotellet lignede på besnærende vis hoteller i den tidligere østblok. Øvrige fakta: køleskab meget beskidt og rustent, safeboks stod "løs" på hylde og kunne åbnes igennem hul på bagsiden med en pind, badeværelse stærkt medtaget af mange års brug. Kan på ingen måde anbefales.

Vi fik værelse 404 i den gamle afdeling, et standardværelse uden balkon lige ud til områdets lille torv, hvor der blev spillet meget høj musik fra kl. 21 - 01 hver aften, bortset fra den sidste aften vi var der. Vi havde bestilt 8 overnatninger, og informerede straks hotellet manager mrs. Blaar. Hun tilbød at vi de sidste 2 dage kunne bo på hotelkompleksest nye hotel Sugar Marine Resort. Hun kunne tilbyde 2 nætter i Sugar Palm hotellets nyere afdeling for 2 nætter, hvis vi ville betale 900 bath pr. nat for at blive opgradet til det tilbudte værelse, som var pænere, nyere og med balkon. Det ville jo blive en del flytteri, hvilket vi ikke syntes var ok, hvorfor vi blev på det oprindelige værelse og de sidste 2 nætter på Sugar Marine.Vi har rejst meget i mange år og altid boet på minimum gode hoteller og selv om der er forskel på standardværelser forskellige steder i verden, så synes vi at Sugar Palm Resort på ingen måde har fortjent de 3½ stjerner, men max. 1½ stjerner. På værelset var der kun 1 stol, men vi fik bestilt en mere, der kom en havestol, og det bestilte bord kom aldrig. Pengeskab på værelset sad løst og ved at trække det lidt ud kunne skabets lås åbnes med en pind, hvilket en medarbejder viste os. Der blev bestilt håndværker, der boltede skabet fast, så det herefter var brugbart og mere sikkert.

位置很好，就在商业街口，到海滩就是过马路的事。早餐不错。

Boka ej standardrum då det ej ingår balkong. Tråkigt poolområde, svårt att ta sig i och upp ur pool då det ej fanns någon stege eller trappsteg. Endast 8 solsängar, inga parasoll. Lyhört.

Ligger väldigt nära Karon beach som jag tycker är Den bättre stranden jämfört med kata och pattong. Klarare vatten och lite mer vågor att leka i. Hotellet har har bra wifi, bra rum å bra frukost. Finns mer att önska av gymet om man vill träna lite, fanns några band att gå på bara.eftersom läget är nära till allt behöver man inte hyra moped vilket kan vara skönt eftersom trafiken är smått galen.

Valde att bo på samma hotell som förra året, men upplevelsen blev dessvärre sämre. Mycket fint rum och god luftkonditionering. Dessvärre verkar all personal utbytt och servicen har blivit sämre. Tillgången till internet är mycket bra och är ingen tilläggskostnad. Vid poolen saknas fortfarande solstolar och parasoll trots påpekan.
