Econo Lodge Helen - הלן

The room was clean but both bed covers had cigarette burn holes in them as well as one of the blankets. The underside of one of the bed covers also had red stains....... blood? It was also a little noisy at night. Not really walking distance to downtown Helen.

Very underwhelmed with my stay at the EconoLodge in Helen, Ga this past weekend. The room was ok, it worked for a family of 4. The bed was hard, pillow flat. A/c was too cold, but the room got too hot without it. The shower head was disgustingly dirty. Breakfast was decent if all you drink is bad coffee, no juice and very little milk. Staff was friendly. Location was good. Will not stay here again, I'll spend the extra few bucks and try something else.

The Plus - Friendly staff. Quiet area. Close to Helen, but not directly in town. The Downside - The beds are advertised at Queen, but they are Double sized and not very comfortable. Sheets were so thin you could see the mattress through them. Very close to waste water treatment facility. Overall - Decent hotel for the money if it's a short stay.

Room was fine for a niteover...clean..a fairly.old establishment that needs a makeover but all in all the room was fine

Chose this hotel because it was listed as pet friendly. Glad I had small dogs, because dogs over 20 or 25 lbs weren't allowed. Our bedspread had dried blood on it as did the bed skirt. It met the need, but I wouldn't stay there again.

We checked into this room, we left to go find another place to stay. We found another hotel in town that ALOT nicer for not much more a night. The room was dirty, the bed was flat and hard as a rock, the wallpaper was bubbled and peeling, the bed comforter smelled like it had not been cleaned. It was me and my two kids and I was not about to let them stay there. I coughed up the lost of the room fee and just went to another hotel. For $49 - you get a $49 room.

We had a great time. The food was excellent, fun places to see- the weather was perfect. The room was also wonderful!

hotel needs alot of work!! staff is nice but only two people were there the whole time! its in helen but only barely you still have to drive unless you enjoy super long walks. other than that its cheap and thats what we were loking for at the time

The bed room was ok for the price the doors paint was falling off the curtains we had to put a blanket in front of cause u could see through the bottom into the room and when we got there front desk person had a dog jumping all over the place barking and jumping on the counters in our face. But ok for the money

Had a great stay!! Everyone that works there was really nice and helpful. The location was great and also very quiet. I plan to return in the future. Thanks for a great stay!!

The hotel was a little shabby, but seemed clean enough. What do you expect for $45.00 per night. Fine for the price.

The bathroom was very dirty and there was no coffee pot maker in the room as it was listed to have available. The front desk person was very nice and helpful with knowledge of the town.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The Econo Lodge is what you'd expect for the price with older furnishings and linens. The grounds and rooms were clean and well kept. Overall a good experience for a very low budget.

The woman working the front desk was very nice and brought us extra pillows within 5 min. after we called. Breakfast was nice, place was clean. No complaints. did not have a coffee pot. that would have been nice.

There were stains on the carpet and chairs in the room as well as some holes in the chairs. However, It was the lowest cost for the area and it was across the street from a water park and within walking distance to all the shops.

We got to the hotel a lil after 10 at night so we were concerned if it was as bad as some of the reviews we would be SOL considering it was new years weekend. It was a lil off the main strip so super quiet. Cleaner than I expected and the older lady at the front desk was super sweet in the mornings. It was average hotel but I'm glad we stayed here instead of on the main strip. Its soooo busy in the day. Overal it was clean, beds were ok, only major complaint is everythinf is out dated including the TV it was super old and would have been great if there was DVD player for kids.

The price was good and the location but the room was dirty and several things were broken. The phone jack was broken in pieces and many other things. The hair dryer looked like it was from the 1970's and it had an old tv which had poor picture quality. It was not clean and we had to clean the toilet ourselves. With a little maintenance this could be a good hotel.

Great choice for the money.

Would not stay there again. Dirty tile, ceiling sheetrock hanging down in bathroom, paint on back of door flaking off, etc.

It was a horrible stay. The bed was very uncomfortable and the sheets were torn, old and did not stay on the bed. You could not even get water to make hot tea or hot chocolate. The front staff was not at all accommodating. I own a travel agency and I was scouting out hotels for my clients and believe me I will not be recommending this hotel to any of them. I was very disappointed in my stay here at the hotel. The best thing about the hotel was the location to Helen, GA.

Attractive room with double beds, rather than queen; did not have a coffeepot, which would have been enjoyed. Continental Breakfast area too small, but probably large enough in off seasons...adequate breakfast with oatmeal, sausage biscuits, bagels, sweet muffins, and cereal.

Very nice clean rooms.

Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Room was filthy. Sheets were dirty. Floor was stained. The person at the front desk barely spoke English. I tried to have a decent Helen visit. The hotel ruined it. I'll NEVER stay in another econolodge.

Not bad. Good from the price. Great location. Dawn was super friendly.

The hotel was clean. No problems with the room. The location was pretty good and close to town. Only issue was no hot water and a poor response to get it fixed. Cold showers are not a fun way to start the day.

Could not check in until 6 pm because cleaning staff walked out without telling management rooms were not finished. However, it was a busy weekend so maybe it was the exception.

I am not a hard person to please as far as hotels go. Give me a functional room with a clean bed and a shower that works, and we are good to go. So, with that disclaimer, let me say about this hotel that we stayed in Sept 14 -15: Pro's: It has a refrigerator and a microwave and it is "pet friendly" with lots of area close-by to walk your pet.. Cons: No hot water to shower with either day (they said they were working on it), carpets were worn and wallpaper was peeling off wall near the door. One of the locks on the door was broken. And, on the map, it appears that this hotel is in "downtown" Helen, but it is NOT. I measured it and it is 1.4 miles to the area of Helen downtown where all of the shops and restaurants are located. So, if you don't mind the walk, no problem. But if you think you are getting a hotel really close to where all the action is going on... you are not. Would I stay here again?.... No.

Room was dirty, hair was in between the sheets and stuck on bathroom walls, it was gross. Hotel staff was less that customer service oriented, could not speak English and did not communicate well.

The Econo Lodge was clean but the building is old and could use some renovations.

The hotel was convenient and the staff was great. The hotel itself is old, and you could tell the staff cleaned but I was still scared of bedbugs and to use the linens.

Non-smoking room, if it was in fact non-smoking, just became non-smoking the morning we got there. Clean, quiet and inexpensive.

The hotel is a good value for the money, however keep in mind what you are paying. The location is great, next door to the Helen Tubing water park, however it is a little far from downtown, but walkable none the less. The toilet would run if you didn't shake the handle, there was a dirty towel on the back of the door when we arrived and the dust was a little concerning on some of the surfaces. I would expect things to be wiped down a little bit better. Still, not bad for the money.

No coffee maker, no cups, door lock was broken. Looked like they didn't care about providing a nice room with all stated amenities.

The tub was missing and overflow cover and the toilette seat was loose. The beds were too hard. Very noisey at bed time due to people upstairs and bright. No newspaper in the morning.

Pleasant

I've stayed at this hotel twice. The room was clean but the knobs on the shower were backwards. The tv remote wa missing. The staff talked about the owner being cheap and would not replace things.

The pool was the most digusting thing I had ever seen. There was some type of growth. Very bad impression upon arriving at the hotel. Rooms were fair but will not stay again.

The quality of water was not good. It was often yellow colored and disgusting to shower or even brush your teeth.
