Staying at yardley manor hotel was very relaxing. It was very quiet with no traffic noise to disturb and only a five minute walk from the busy harbour front. Our room was spacious and light. The staff were attentive and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay there again if in Torquay

Although the weather was awful, the location of the hotel was good (if you are OK with hills), only five minutes walk to the harbour and shops. Beds comfy and nice sea view, would go again.

From the moment we set foot in the hotel/pub we were made to feel welcome. We hadn't even ordered a drink and the locals got chatting. I will be returning soon!

The room was cold, poorly maintained and all electrics were being run from trailing gang sockets. I had to leave at 8.00 in the morning to arrive at the scheduled meeting that I was in the area to attend and breakfast was not possible before 8.30. Not impressed at all

The owners kindly upgraded us to a superior room free of charge with flowers and champagne because it was our anniversary. The room was comfortable, clean and the bed enormous and very comfortable. Breakfast was freshly cooked and very nice. Good location, everything you could posssibly want was within walking distance. I was very impressed with the variety of restaurants close by. I chose this hotel because I wanted to stay somewhere more traditional and not ultra modern, so dont expect a 4 star hotel. It is a bit rough round the edges throughout the rest of the hotel but repairs were being undertaken while we were there but didn't disturb us in any way. Overall we were very happy with our 2 night stay, the staff were very obliging and friendly it had everything we needed.

Super stay at Yardley Manor, good bedroom good breakfast great stay will be back soon. hotel amenities and space in hotel to chill out rather than stay in " just your bedroom" if its wet and gloomy outside, good bar with "real ale".

Very enjoyable stay, just right for stop over, comfy rooms all ensuite, good value for money.

what a great stay at this hotel, Jackie, Steve and the rest of the staff, Thank you for the perfect stay, fantastic room especially the Huge bed, the wine in the room was a very nice touch for my Birthday, cheers,will be back Christmas.

Had booked a standard room but was upgraded to a much bigger room for free. on checkin I was told about the basics where breakfast was, the bar, car parking and things like that together with a booklet in the room to aquaint yourself with the hotel, there was also a water bottle and glass in room with coffee and tea. Tv was a good size as well, bed was good size in fact the room was just right. A few drinks with fellow guests after a day out at the bar in the evening with the owner buying us a drink!! polished the stay for me, will be coming back to Yardley Manor.

My Husband and I had a great weekend away, first room we were allocated was not great, as we had a terrific down pour of rain in the night, and it sounded like a waterfall outside our bedroom window. Our room was changed immediately the next morning to a lovely room No. 21. Jackie was wonderful and very hospitable. Amazing Rates, Location great, very walkable to the harbour. Accommodated all our needs. We'll be back next time we come back to Torquay.

Hotel was very shabby, not at all like it was in pictures. Was quite clean in room and the family were doing their best, but service was poor and even though the breakfast was nice we kept having to ask for things i.e bread for toaster, jam, cereal etc. The people in the next room had no towell or drinking glasses and there was cleaning equipment left on stairs for two days. All in all apart from the excellent location, I would not stay there again.

Excellent Hotel on all fronts. Made instantly welcome. Cup of tera or coffee while the room was finished. Sheets, pillow cases, pillows and towels were all spotless and fresh smelling. Room was spacious and aired. Tea and coffee facilities provided. Bar with excellent service down stairs. Only a short walk to town centre where ther were plenty of restaurants and cafes where you can get something to eat in the afternoon or evening. Breakfast to write home about. Would recomend to all my friend and family.

Pleased with the hotel and room and when the staff member came to the desk after ringing bell on the counter she was very pleasant and got us the extra hand towel we thought should have been there. Didn't realise there was a pub belonging to the hotel underneath and inappropriate items in different places in the hotel which would make it more appealing if moved. The owner/manager played incredibly loud music during the latter part of the evening, so loud that we laughed at the way the room was almost bouncing but couldn't stand it any longer and went out to the lobby and rang bell on the counter and eventually a young man came out at the same time as the young lady who we had seen earlier. She asked what was wrong and I said the music was unbelievably loud and she went straight down and made sure it was turned down. The staff (who are all part of the family who own the hotel) were absolutely great. Next morning after a difficult sleep on too narrow twin beds, which creaked at every single move, we went to breakfast which was brilliant, only thing that spoilt it were all the empty bottles, cardboard and random rubbish at the end of the breakfast area in the pub just behind where we were seated. A nice beaded curtain there would have made it a better area. I would go there again. Only a few tweeks to be made really.

We were on the floor above the bar area and every night the music was very loud in our room. Other than that it was good. New owner doing renovation work but that did not impact on us.

Fab stay at this Hotel which is in a great position. local band in on wednesday night, good music until 11pm and bar serves a decent pint of real ale. Decent breakfasts. Overall very enjoyable, will return

Fantastic stay, good food and bar, drinks are good value, real ale on tap jail ale,from dartmoor.plus all the usual, fosters, kronenburg, etc good breakfasts, Hotel is in a great position for restaurants and quayside plus highstreet.

Very enjoyable stay at the Yardley Manor. the position of this Hotel is fantastic for all amenities in Torquay, great breakfasts.

The hotel staff worked as a unit, ensuring all was well and comfortable with their guests. It appears to be a family, with all very experienced in the hotel and guest business. There was free parking, very welcome indeed. Every possible comfort was thought of and our rest was lovely with the exception of a few Wednesday night pub guests who stayed past midnight and awoke us at 3:30 AM. The first night was perfect and peaceful. Obviously if one rents a room at a hotel with a pub on the bottom floor, one must expect a little noise. The comfort, convenience and pleasant staff more than made up for the interruption to our sleep.

I was dissapointed after reading the reviews I booked a De-Lux ensuite room with seaview,I did have a seaview through a window which rattled in wind and not double glazed (could hear seagulls) there was no headboard the furnishing were pine including a kitchen table and chairs and the TV was old with poor sound.The ensuite was very nice but small no bath.The owners were pleasant and helpful,the breakfast was ok served in the bar/dinning room.

I read the review and was excited untill I got there. The room was tiny with too many pieces if furniture, but clean. There was no soap or shampoo, or even a hair dryer in the room. When we got there and through out the 2 nights we stayed we never saw anyone at the front desk. The first night we couldn't sleep due to the blasting music 3 floors down in the basement bar.

We had a super stay at this hotel, would certainly recommend staying at the Yardley Manor Hotel. Hotel has to be the best we have ever stayed in Torquay super breakfast ...

Needs some updating but very clean and friendly and a very short walk to the town, great full english breakfast !

Every body who worked at the hotel just could not do enough for you.The room was brilliant and very clean.We strongly recommend it to any one.

Nice building. Staff were hard to find. Breakfast times were tight so we missed out (9 - 9:30). Not the best experience, but not unpleasant. Room was clean and comfortable for a 1 night stop off.

Hotel was a little gem... very comfortable, great value for money, owners and staff extremely friendly and courteous, nothing too much trouble. Although the hotel is undergoing a few cosmetic improvements this did not detract from a very enjoyable stay. We will DEFINITELY stay again, it will be our first choice of stay when we return to Torquay.... Many Thanks.

There is a pub bar down under the hotel, which actually has a local style atmosphere. Certainly makes a night away on your own enjoyable. Rooms are excellent and newley decorated..

Having stayed at the hotel, the rooms are very well furnished. Obviously recently decorrated when the new owners took over. Decorated to a very good standard, with paintings on hotel room walls, ironing boards and irons, all the things one would need. Walking distance to waterfront. Very friendly atmosphere. Excellent food.

Stayed in the Yardley Manor hotel on an overnight work related trip. The hotel room was very well furbished, and newley decorated. Breakfast was excellent, with very good service. Also has a bar below, with friendly atmosphere. Located in close proximity to restaurants and the like in the harbour area. Very good hotel. Value for money. Well recommended.

I have stayed in many B+B in torbay but i will be going back to this one again and again, Fantastic proper family atmosphere, great hotel, hope the family take this hotel to its full potential as only been there a few months. Great food, drink, service and room. Cannot Fault it. And the price was fantastic, well worth the money at a very competitive rate

The staff are all very friendly . The room was comfortable and I was pleased that children were allowed in the bar which ment we were able to enjoy the evenings as a family and the pool table, football table and darts kept the children entertained. A very comfortable hotel which caters well for families. I hope to return again

main comment on sea view room - only one bedside table & lamp, could do with some shelves in en-suite, windows rattled when windy. overall the price was right.
