great staff!

Not in the most exciting location (on the outskirts of the university area), but a clean, friendly, well-kept hotel. Easy drive to campus. Pool was clean. Had a great experience, would absolutely stay again.

We had an awesome stay and the room, staff, and hotel were great. I definitly recommend staying here.

Restaurant was either closed or offered food typical of a Hampton Inn. Room was cleaned at 7:30pm the first night. Hilton honors upgrade put us into a handicapped room. Skip the hotel but if you have to stay there go to HyVee for a fresh (and cheaper) breakfast, order in from one of the multitudes of restaurants in the area, and don't expect typical Hilton quality service.

Couldn't check in until after 5PM and then couldn't get the type of room I requested when making the reservation. Staff was helpful as they could be but obviously reservations need a little help.

This is my 3rd stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Ames. The hotel is very clean and very well run. The staff is always courteous and accommodating. Job Well Done!

Staff were unloading tables and chairs off the elevator at 10:00 pm. They were holding a discussion right outside our room on the second floor. Do not get a room near the elevator if you stay in this facility.

Very comfortable nights stay, morning breakfast was hella delicious. Very good location I thought, Would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Ames Iowa.

This a standard Hilton Garden and meets the level of quality that you would expect at any of them. However, specifically avoid rooms around 107-110 as they are directly across from the ice machine and fitness/pool area, which means higher traffic, kids and the ice machine dumping ice. It can get a little loud.

We've stayed here a couple of times. The restaurant service and food were much better this time. Very nice hotel. Only thing I'd change is the price. Seems a bit high priced relative to other hotels in Ames.

The location of the hotel is good and it's probably the newest hotel in the area. The staff was very friendly. They have a nice little restaurant and bar on the first floor. I had breakfast there one morning and it was good. The rooms are very spacious and they provide two TV's (one in the bedroom and one in the living room. There were some cleanliness issues. The pillows on the sofa were dirty, some of the towels had stains, the caulking around the tub wasn't very clean, etc. Also, the bed is like a rock - very uncomfortable. However, if you're just in town for a couple of days, it's not bad. The staff is very friendly and the public areas of the hotel are kept pretty clean.

The staff was very freeindly at checking and anytime was passed through the lobby. Even offered cookies and bottled water.The hotel is on the west end of Ames where there isn't a lot going on, but it is just off the highway and still close to campus. Not a lot of places to eat nearby, but Ames isn't that big.

I've been to this hotel before and have always had great service. It is a clean, well maintained hotel. Thnk you!!! I will be back when I'm in the area.

I was in town for a wedding and it was just a couple miles from the wedding. Nice accomodations although the "adjustable bed" didn't adjust. Still very comfortable.

I was disappointed they only left 2 shower towels after cleaning room when there was clearly 3 they picked up and i registered my room for 2 adults and a child. After housekeeping was in our room i found the coffee pouch in the middle of the floor thanks for cleansing the coffee pot and leaving more coffee but i not impressed when i found the used one on the floor. We were in town for soccer tournament and after being out side in the heat all day went to check in to our room and had to wait 40 min and that was us even coming to check in after 3 which is check in Time i understand things run late but i would hope knowing what the event was why all these people were in town and the heat our children were in it would have been nice to get to our room. Not sure i will be choosing this hotel again for the money i spent just not that impressed

I was rudely awakened by the neighboring room at 7am, i'm sure you can imagine why. The walls were way built way too thin! Otherwise it was an enjoyable stay, the lounge was nice and so was the staff.

the overall hotel is nice and well kept. however, we had our children with and when using the swimming pool had to go to the front desk every time to ask for towels as there were none in the pool area. the last time we swam, none were brought, someone went into the workout room and took towels from there just so people could dry off.

There were potato chips in the chair in the room - so made me wonder what else was not clean. Only 1 bar of soap - so we had to share it with the shower. One day they did not give us a bath mat either. We booked this a long time ago for a king bed, they did not have one when we arrived

The hotel was really great. The only problem was a non-working exhaust fan but that was no big deal. It has adjustable beds and the pool and hot tub were great. The breakfast buffet isn't a bad deal at 10 dollars for all you can eat. I would stay again when I am headed that way.

Hotel was great. Nice, clean and seemed newer than others we've stayed at in the area. My big recommendation.... avoid the small restaurant off the lobby. They are extremely slow. We tried them for breakfast and waited 40 minutes for simple hot meals. Came back that evening and waited over 30 minutes for appetizers. The waiters were very friendly and apologetic, even gave us complimentary drinks, but what a disappointment to have such slow service and mediocre quality food. Definitely stay there, avoid the food.

Rooms are great, pool and work out area are great. Night management could do a better job of keeping guests quiet. There was a group of high school students and they were noisy till way past midnight and again by 5:30am.

Staying in this hotel was a very good experience. We chose it since it was close to the college where my sons are attending. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The bed was a sleep number-type mattress and it was so comfortable! We will definitely stay there again!

The hotel was pretty nice but when we got to our room there was left over food from the last guests in our fridge. I think the cost was way too much considering our room wasn't clean and it doesn't come with breakfast. We paid for the breakfast and there wasn't hardly anything out. I wont be going back

I stayed four nights, and the room and beds were comfortable and clean. Internet access was appreciated. I only had two minor annoyances - on the first night I noticed the shower drain wasn't draining very quickly, so I mentioned it to the front desk and they assured me they would have maintenance look at it. It never got looked at. The second thing is I had the "Do not disturb" sign on the door one morning so I could sleep in a little, but I left the room before noon and removed the sign then. I was disappointed to return to my room that evening and find that it never got made up in the afternoon. Maybe I should have requested it when I left..

While room was clean the A/C was extremely noisy, no bathroom fan and temperature control was difficult, if not impossible. The mattresses were lumpy and soft. We would not recommend this hotel when for the price, it's not worth it. Plus, all the all the corrections could be easily made.

Hotel is very nice overall and fairly new. Only problem we had was that the bathrooms had a bad, mildew smell when we arrived. We complained and they had someone come up right away but it still smelled bad after the second cleaning. Nothing a little bleach wouldn't cure but oh well. We didn't eat there because the food was a little too expensive. But it's a nice place overall and we would stay there again.

Purchased a room with two queen beds and a breakfast buffet. Water was pooled all over bathroom floor when we arrived and floor was dirty. The mattresses were "adjustable" and either had a sinkhole in the middle of the bed, or else a big bubble rising up--unsleepable. The pillows were also like bubbles--did not "crush" at all--no sleep for us. The next morning, we were told we had to pay for the breakfast buffet even though it was to have come with the price of the room. The buffet was only starches and sweets plus cottage cheese, overripe fruit, and the only hot item was oatmeal--for the price of almost 6 dollars apiece. Outrageous. When we told the waitress we were to get the buffet free, it took another 20 minutes to sort out the mess and included a trip back to our room to get our original receipt for the room. The hotel realized their error, but did not apologize and due to their mistake, we ended up 10 minutes late for our appointment. Although I'd booked our room over a month in advance, we were given a room at the back of the hotel right next to the main highway, and, where the delivery trucks started making their deliveries at about 4 am. (No sleep) We were surprised that the Hilton was situated between a pizza-bowling establishment and a strip mall.

The hotel was very nice and clean. Front desk was helpful. Breakfast service was a little slow and seemd a litttle disorganized. Why no fans in bathrooms?

We tried the jaquzzi room. It was very nice. Easy to find location. Clean & comfortable hotel. Front staff wasn't the most helpful, but that is minor.

I thought the hotel was excellent. The only thing I had a drink at the lobby bar and it was double the price of any upscale bar in the area

The hotel location is relatively close to the ISU campus. We stayed for graduation, which is one of the top 5 busiest days of the year for the hotel. They only have 2 computers to check people in, and had one experienced and one new person checking people in. The manager was walking around offering bottled water and coffee to the 20+ people in line, rather than helping the new person check people in. I don't understand why training someone on one of the busiest days of the year was a priority, rather than bringing an experienced person in from another hotel for the day. The beds are the variable firmness type, and no one staying in the room was comfortable after sleeping on them, even after adjusting them several times. Overall, the hotel experience was ok. It was cleaner than other hotels that I have stayed at in Ames, but if you need fast service, I recommend staying somewhere else.
