Caravaggio - רומא

Spent a week in Rome Italy and stayed at this location! Very nice location in central Rome very close to bus routes and the metro system! Also plenty of restaurants located nearby! Staff very helpful especially during the continental breakfast time the staff makes your fresh cup of cappuccino for you! Wifi is not available in your room but it is available in the lobby area only!

Nice classic Italian hotel. Old furnishings but clean and well maintained. Good location and suited our purpose.

We really enjoyed staying at Caravaggio. Being there during low season we were afraid there might not be AC and that we might get cold during the night, but there was enough heat for both of us. Nice clean room, comfy (firm) beds, not noisy at all during the night and a breakfast including both eggs, tasty bread, juice and fresh made coffee this was more than we could ever expect! We had a great stay at this hotel!

This hotel gave me very contradictory feelings: the personnel was very nice and helpful. The lobby was nice and wifi was free (I got connected in my room too, although this service is not provided), but the rooms were converted from flats and their access is NOT through the hotel lobby. Indeed it is through a door next door, which also serves as access to other flats. Access to rooms is probably the worst aspect of this hotel: after the main gate rubbish is dumped close to the entrance and the staircase to the rooms is also and badly in need of restoration. Once you reach your room you are sort of better. Our room was well decorated, with high ceiling and a nice bathroom. There are no tea/coffe facilities in the room, but the owhner left a small bottle of wine as welcome gift. Breakfast is served in the SMALL breakfast room and it does not have cooked food neither ham/cheese. it has cereals, biscuits, toasts, jam, orange juice and some spreads.

I definitely recommend the hotel. We stayed there in Sept 2011, and we had the perception that the hotel was recently renovated. Rooms are small, but clean, and well decorated. Very good breakfast as well. The location is perfect, since we could walk to all the main attractions. Besides, the subway is less than 5 minutes (walking) from the hotel. No regrets at all, and if we return to Rome one day, we would stay there again.

When I saw the reviews of Caravaggio hotel online, I had high expectations as the description said "chic, modern hotel in the centre of Rome". So you can imagine my surprise when after checking in, I discovered that we had to take our own luggage upstairs, through a different entrance, and cram ourselves and our two suitcases in a tiny tiny really old elevator. At first, we thought that adds to its charm and that our room would make up for it. But the room was tiny, we didn't even have room to open our suitcase unless we did it on the bed. The walls looked dirty, the shower door was broken. Still in chock, we asked to be transferred to a different room which was more spacious but with no working aircon, We were so depressed with the prospect of staying in the hotel that we spent the whole day outside, dreading the moment when we would have to come back. 7 hours later, we decided we were not going back and we cancelled our booking and moved to a real three star hotel across the street, where we had extremely courteous service in 4 languages, and a marble floored suite for the same price! May whoever has eyes and ears draw their own conclusions from our own experience.

Very nice small hotel in the center of Rome. Beautiful furniture, almost antique. The best location - walking distance to everything.

Hotelli oli loistava, menen varmasti uudestaan seuraavalla kerralla mikäli viivyn hotellissa! Respaan ja hotellin huoneisiin omat vierekkäiset ovet kadulla, respan ollessa auki 24/7 oli varsin kätevää jättää avain siihen kaupungille lähtiessä. Sijainti oli loistava, lähimmälle metroasemalle käveli alle 5 minuuttia ja esimerkiksi Vittorio Emanuelle 2:n monumentille kesti jalan 10 minuuttia, jonka vierestä alkaa Via Del Corso-ostoskatu. Monumentilta pääsee myös kävelemään Colosseumille muutamassa minuutissa. Huone oli siisti ja hyvän kokoinen, ilmastointi pelasi hyvin ja lämpimästä vedestä ei ollut pulaa. Kivilattiat tietenkin ovat viileitä talvikaudella, ehkä ainoa miinus ja sekin hotellista riippumaton. Aamiainen oli hyvä, henkilökunta kysyi syömään mennessä josko haluaisi kahvia. Perinteinen makea aamiainen kroisantteineen, tarjolla oli mm. paahtoleipää, mehua, jugurttia ja mysliä sekä keitettyjä munia. Kaikkiaan todella hyvä hotelli loistavalla paikalla. Suosittelen!

The hotel is not a place you should take if you want to be inside all the time. To small and bad view, hidden in the small streets. But it is close to the railway station with trains and buses to and from the airport and so the most important thing, which is walking distance to everything. We were out and walk every day and was back at the hotel sometimes for a rest before dinner. they have breakfast which is quite excellent compared to many other hotels in Rome for the price and cleaning and tidying every day in the rooms. So all total ..... good hotel for the money, clean, good location, friendly staff, only Italian-language channels on the television.

Het hotel ziet er op het eerste gezicht netjes uit en het is er ook schoon. Maar als je langer dan een dag er zit is het toch storend dat de gordijnen niet goed dicht gaan en de toiletbril los zit. Nog storender is het dat er niets aan gedaan wordt als je het netjes meld. Ontbijt is echt heel summier, geen verse kaas of vleeswaren, alleen koud keihand eitje is, jam, smeerkaas, yoghurt en musli. En de broodjes niet vers. Ook dat hebben we gemeld maar geen verandering. Locatie is wel heel centraal, schoonmaak goed en meisje bij ontbijt ook erg vriendelijk.

Vi bestilte et hotel som ikke var veldig dyrt, og i nærheten av severdigheter. Siden vi kun kom til å reise rundt under oppholdet. Hotellet er et greit hotell, trivelige og hjelpsomme ansatte. Veldig rent og ryddig. MEN.... Ble veldig skuffet over hotellrommet vi fikk, etter å ha sett bildene fra de andre rommene. Vi fikk det minsterommet hvor det var veldig dårlig plass. Det er ikke godt lydisolerte rom, ører folk tydelig gå forbi romdøra og at de på naborommet er på do om morgenen. Ellers er dette et helt greit hotell, hvis du ikke er veldig kresen og ikke skal oppholde deg mer på hotellet for å sove/hvile.

Wir waren sehr überrascht von der extremen Sauberkeit der Zimmer. Das Zimmer war ausreichend groß, da es nur zur Übernachtung diente.Es liegt in der Nähe der Haupteinkaufsstrasse, trotzdem liegt es so ruhig, dass man mit geöffnetem Fenster schlafen kann. In der näheren Umgebung liegen viele kleine Restaurants und Bars um am Abend noch gemütliche ein Glas Vino zu trinken. Das Hotelpersonal war immer freundlich und zuvorkommend und auch gerne behilflich bei der Ausflugsplanung.Wir können dieses Hotel weiterempfehlen und würden es bei einer erneuten Reise nach Rom jederzeit wieder buchen

Det bästa med hotellet var nog det centrala läget med gångavstånd till det mesta. Hotellrummen är i en ombyggd hyreslägenhet i ett annat hus än receptionen. Saknade mest internet, som bara fanns i hotellreceptionen.

Comoda, porque despues de pasear por la bella Roma da gusto, llegar a descanzar. Es una construcción algo antigua pero con las comodidades modernas. Ademas que se puede decir cuando cerca existen construcciones de casi dos mil años.

Vietinmme ystäväni kanssa hotellissa neljä yötä ja olimme kaikin puolin tyytyväisiä. Huone oli todella pieni, eikä modernein mahdollinen, mutta erittäin siisti ja suihku toimi koko matkan ajan hienosti antaen tarpeeksi kuumaa vettä kahden naisen käyttöön. Vastaanottovirkailijat olivat ystävällisia ja hotellin aamupala riittävän hyvä meidän tarpeisiimme. Sijainti oli hyvä, vaikkakin lähempääkin keskustaa olisi voinut olla :) Kaikin puolin hyvä perushotelli, josta ei suurempia valittamisia

Das Hotel befindet sich in der Nähe der Banhoff Termini, dort findet man die U-bahn und viele Verbindungen (zb vom/zum Flughafen). Es is eigentlich kein Hotel, sonder eine pension am 4. stock. Die Zimmer sind seeehr klein aber sauber. Früstuck is auch in Ordnung.Es is gut fur 1-2 nächte, dann wird das enges Zimmer sehr ungemütlich. In der Umgebung sind viele restaurant, bar oder Laden zu finden.

Jag är mycket nöjd med Caravaggio (som delar foaje eller är samma hotell som Hotel Picasso). Hotellet ligger bra till, en paralellgata till Via Nazionale, lugnt och skönt och många restauranger. Servicen var väldigt bra. Det enda som var negativt var att hotellets rum ligger på olika våningar med låsta dörrar mellan varandra(våningarna). Svårt om man är ett kompisgäng eller familj som hamnar långt ifrån varandra. Missa inte pizzerian runt hörnet på huset!

Mauvaise surprise en arrivant notre chambre n'est pas à l'hôtel Caravaggio mais à l'hôtel Picasso qui est à 100 m, via Venezia ! Là-bas c'est un immeuble sans accueil ! on arrive par la rue et ensuite n'importe qui a accès aux chambres. La notre ne pouvait pas se verrouiller (juste se claquer) et il y avait même un trace de tournevis à hauteur de la serrure... aucun coffre à l'intérieur. Chambre très sombre et franchement glauque. Télé minuscule au niveau du plafond. La chambre n'est pas celle des photos qui doit se trouver à Caravaggio. Pas de wifi, il faut se rendre à l'accueil de celui-ci à 100m... la chambre triple était constituée de 3 lits simples tout petits. Petit déj pas terrible mais surtout dans un espace minuscule. 6 tables de 2... incroyable. Cela étant l'hôtel est très bien situé, on peut faire tout Rome à pied. Le personnel des 2 hôtels est sympa et accueillant. Apéro de consolation gratuit à 18h00. Sympa mais insuffisant pour le prix... très décevant car il y a mieux pas beaucoup plus loin...

Hormis sa situation géographique vraiment sympa (très proche de la fontaine de Trevi), l'hôtel est l'équivalent d'un 'petit' 2 étoiles français. Quant au petit déjeuner, même le pain n'est pas frais. Seul point positif, leur café est excellent.

The hotel was only a short distance from the main train station and was easy to find without a map. The hotel staff was helpful and spoke good enough English. Our room was clean and cozy. It was located in a different building than the reception. So far it is the best room we have had in Rome (and better than any we have had in Paris or London). We observed absolutely no noise from outside nor from the other rooms during the night. The breakfast was a typical light Italian small hotel breakfast. The small variety of bread, yogurt etc. was fresh, and the coffee was good.

Rien à redire sur cette hotel. Tres bien situé dans le centre historique de Rome et dans une rue calme. A 10mn à pied : colisé,gare de tremini,fontaine di trevi et bien d'autres!! la quasi totalité des monuments peuvent se faire a pied. vatican : 10mn en metro. Accueil sympa, personnel parle peu francais mais essaye malgré tout de nous rendre le séjour le plus agreable possible (explications lieux a privilegier + plan offert) Chambre correcte, lit confortable. Petit dejeuner simple et varié.
