Casa Linnea - רומא

Pros: very safe and pretty convenient location, big space, clean, breakfast available all day long, modern clean kitchen, big clean bathroom, maps and a guidebook are handy. Cons: no WiFi (tricky in Rome), must call owner on the phone on arrival, 20% deposit required for booking, courtyard was relatively noisy. Overall: good stay, but WiFi would make it better.

The "apartment" was nice and conveniently located. The beds were a little too firm for my taste, though.

Det var min och min dotters första resa till Rom och jag tror inte att vi kunde ha bott på ett bättre ställe. Anna som driver Casa Linnea är svensk och därför var det lätt att via mejl kommunicera innan ankomst och ställa de frågor vi hade. T ex är vi glutenintoleranta och hon ordnade därför glutenfritt bröd till oss. Det enda jag önskar att jag hade vetat innan var hur ingången till lägenheten såg ut. Letade efter en skylt med namnet Casa Linnea, men det såg vi inte någonstans. Gick på gatunumret och gick in i den porten, där en kvinna kunde visa oss rätt en trappa upp. Lägenheten var mycket fräsch och vi var de enda gästerna så vi hade köket för oss själva. Gångavstånd till det mesta mitt emellan Vatikanen och själva centrum. Bra område för shopping. Anna var väldigt hjälpsam och kom med många bra tips. Rekommenderas varmt!

The Casa Linnea (a bed and breakfast, not a hotel) is actually a two bedroom apartment, close to the Vatican city. It is on a quiet block of apartments. We were lucky that the other room was not booked at the time so it was really quiet. The room that we stayed in, was furnished with a double bed, two bedside tables, a wardrobe and two plastic chairs. The WC was a separate room than the shower room. The room, WC and shower were clean. The bed sheet should have been a little cleaner, as they seemed washed and ironed, but had stains on a closer look. The kitchen was equipped with a coffee machine and a boiler for coffee and tea. The breakfast was self-service. Each day the hostess left on the kitchen for us corn flakes, bread or croissant, orange juice and milk and there was always in the fridge butter and jam. The linen and towels were changed every 3 days by room policy. We only stayed for 3 days, so we did not see if this actually took place. The hostess was kind enough to allow us leave our luggage there the last day, as our flight was in the afternoon, but on the other hand we had to check-out at 10 in the morning, which is really early. We also had to pay for the full stay in advance and we did not receive a receipt for our payment.
