Bed & Breakfast Gabriel La Rambla - ברצלונה

Great location, right amidst the Gothic quarter - very close to the Ramblas, metro-station as well as several other attractions (cathedral, picasso museum etc). The check-in formalities can be handled better - there were lengthy instructions on where to come, what to dial, etc etc; language was a problem at check-in. Once settled in, everything was okay. The common kitchenette even allowed for a home-cooked meal once in a while.

Very clean but tired apartment. Needs some tender loving care. Location could not be better. 5 people 3 nights. Breakfast was 2 spanish espresso capsules, 2 dried up croissants. Half a box of nesquick. Bottle of white wine. one third of a bottle of water and a half full opened soyer milk in the fridge. That was 3 days breakfast for 5 people. BIG JOKE. After booking i paid €90,- more than the booking price. After taxes and extra for this, extra for that. NEVER AGAIN!!!

The staging of B & B Gabriel on the website does not agree with what they in fact offer. There was basically no food in the kitchen, just a few dry crackers, half a bowl of corn flakes, no table and chairs to sit down, a few chipped dishes. They had a few stools in the middle of the room. When I showed the website description to the woman looking after us she told us we didn't pay enough. We paid what the list price was when we reserved a room with a private bath in January. It does not state that there are five flights of stairs without a lift available to the rooms. We could not get hot water in the bathroom sink, used the hand held shower wand to run water into the sink. We did not use the shower because it did not have a proper catch basin, we were afraid of flooding the room. We had an inside bedroom, so we were concerned about it being a fire hazard because there was no obvious escape route possible.

We thought BB Gabriel was great - just what we wanted. We stayed in an apartment Carrer Ample so very close to las ramblas and the port. The street looked a bit scruffy on the outside but that is typical of some barrio gothic areas and inside the building was very nice grand. Each of the rooms in the apartment had locks and some had en suite bathrooms. so you share the kitchen and possibly a bathroom with others who you might not know - but that was fine. There was breakfast food & tea/coffee/milk all provided in the kitchen and you could cook in it if you liked. We were lucky that our room had a very high ceiling and a balcony to look out on the street. Free wifi and also a tv in the room. Would definitely go back there again.

Arriving there is was an apartment building without receptionist, elevator. The bathroom was outside of the room and even had a cockroach to scare my wife. To make things worse, it was a busy time during Mobile World Conference 2012 and he just cancelled my reservation without further notice! I could manage to get the room for one day until I found a place to stay for the rest of the trip. For your own safety and care, never stay here. You have been warned.

This is a very nice bed and breakfast hotel. It is a little bit hard to locate it but after that it is a great place.

First of all when we arrived, we headed straight to address of the apartment i booked as per my booking voucher. I arrived at this dilapitated building which scared me so much that my holiday spirit quickly vanished at that point! We called Gabriel and he arrived in 5 minutes and he took us 150 m away to another set of apartments. The apartments were built in 1833 and i think that was the last time this particular apartment was maintained. When we opened the door, we were greeted by a stench. Gabriel promised that we should get a daily cleaning service, which never happened for 4 nights we stayed there. The bathrooms were disgusting. Toilet set cover not properly installed, bathroom cover dirty and smelly. Bathroom ventilators working but not really working. The TV stuck on two channels with a snowy view which was annoying for the kids. Lucky the bedding was clean. Barcelona there's so much to do that we found more to do to ensure that we dont spend any minute except sleeping in that apartment. The location of the hotel is great, close to a metro and not far from the beaches. However I will not stay in this apartment ever again. Its the worst by far in my travelling experiences!

We booked this on hotels.com and we were so angry with them. It was prepaid so we assumed that hotels.com would take payment immediatly and reimburse the hotel and we would just show up. Instead we get a response(barely readable) from Gabriel demanding immediate payment via paypal with a 5% surcharge when we refused and said we would make other arrangements he said he would just charge our credit card from hotels.com. I don't know why he couldn't do that to take the initial payment in the first place. It is basically a room in a Condo. Internet didn't work. If it's hot out don't ever stay here, it's way way too loud to sleep with the window open(No AC). (there are bars just out the window. Overall it was a spacious clean room and we were able to do some laundry and use the kitchen to save some money. If you want to book i would suggest going directly through his website as hotels.com might as well just be a classified ads in this case. I would never stay here again as the stress and hassle of it was not worth it, especially when you are already in the midst of travelling. Our room did have an adjoining room with a bunkbed and twin so if are travelling with family or friends on the cheap it would be reasonable. For us it was the biggest rip off and caused the most stress of any hotel on our three week trip to many other cities.

It wasn't a bad hotel at all. It is VERY hard to find initally, but very close to main pedestrian stroll. Bring the map, and make sure you have the phone number handy. There is no signage at all to find it. Its clean, bright and a great deal. I would stay there again, TF

My stay at Gabriel was very enjoyable! The bed was very comfortable, the surroundings were quiet and the staff was very friendly. I highly recommend this place!

Varausta tehdessä osui silmään, sisältää verot ja maksut. Kuitenkin kohteessa hinta nousi melkein 50€. Kun näytin kohteessa meidän printtejä varauksesta missä luki sis.verot ja maksut. Hän näytti varaussivulta pienen tekstin missä ilmeni jotain paikkakuntakohtaisia veroja jne. Muuten mukava kohde ja loistava sijainti. Hostel on kuitenkin hostel ja tuohon hintaan hyvä.

Vi blev mødt af ejeren, en dame, som mente, at vi skulle betale 42 Euro ekstra pga. service og skatter. Efter jeg på spansk havde forklaret, at det ville vi ikke, endte vi kun med at komme af med 6 Euro. Vi havde bestilt værelse med toilet men det fik vi ikke. Værelsets lys duede ikke, og alt i alt var jeg ikke særlig imponeret trods den lave pris - jeg har fået mere for mindre andre steder i Spanien.

Malgré de nombreuses informations et garanties demandées lors de la réservation, nous avons été très agréablement supris de la qualité de cette appartement. Entièrement équipé, cuisine complète, une chambre, une salle de bains, un salon avec TV et internet wifi. Au centre de la résidence il y avait même une piscine.. Localisation idéale derrière Plaça Reial, à 2 minutes du métro et des Ramblas et 15 min à pied de plaça de Catalunya.

Tolle Lage für wenig Geld, aber kleines muffiges Zimmer ohne Fenster mit durchgelegen Betten.

Ett charmigt lägenhetshotell med rena fräscha rum. Vi hade dock en korridor man var tvungen gena för att komma till en minimal toa M dusch. Ett gäng glada italienare i 20års åldern ville parta i rummet invid och det hördes mkt väl. Det är lyhört! En bra vicevärd finns som håller koll dock. Läget är suveränt! Ska man bara shoppa o se Barcelona och inte uppehålla sig på vandrarhemmet är det perfekt. Vill man göra mat är det också mkt bra! Rekommenderas!

Opholdet var fint. Lejligheden var ren og de var meget venlige. Men den første dag fik min datter og jeg et 3 personers værelse, som vi så skulle forlade dagen efter kl. 10.30. Vi skulle aflevere nøgler og få nye igen senere på dagen, da vi ikke vil være afhængig, af at skulle blive på værelset til kl. 10.30 - 11.00. Værelset vi sov i de sidste 4 nætter var meget lille, helt mørkt - faktisk et lille pulterkammer med en skydedør. Så der var meget lydt fra andre i lejligheden. TV var der på værelset, men det virkede ikke.

Het adres bevindt zich niet op het afgegeven adres, vermeldt op de site. De B&B bevindt zich op ca. 5 min loopafstand. U moet eerst telefonisch contact maken als u aankomt (noteer het 06-nummer dus!). De hostel verder is perfect om van daaruit naar La Rambla en andere bezienswaardigheden te gaan. Metro station Barcelonette is het dichtst bijzijnde. Absoluut niet geschikt voor ouderen en mensen die slecht ter been zijn. Dit ivm met veel trappen. Het ontbijt bestaat uit muffins met Jus d'orange.

El apartamento que tuve en Santa Mónica, está muy bien ubicado, en las Ramblas y cerca de la estatua de Colón. A pesar de estar situado en una de las calles más transitadas de Barcelona, no se oían ruidos y se podía descansar bien. Pero claro, yo he ido en Febrero y dormía con las ventanas cerradas. Hay una estación de metro al lado, lo que te permite ir a ver varias cosas en poco tiempo. El trato fué bueno y la limpieza también. En general, la calidad, precio, se ajustan. Pero lo mejor, para mí, sin duda fué la ubicación.

Hotellet er meget simpelt og ejeren forstår intet engelsk. Sengen er ikke så god. Forinden opholdet får man utroligt mange og utroligt lange email på meget dårligt engelsk. I skal ikke lade jer skræmme, det skal tages med et gran salt. Der er ikke reception, så man er helt på egen hånd. Til gengæld er det super billigt, beliggenheden er fantastisk og man får et absolut ok værelse. Hvis man er afsted for at opleve byen, og ikke bekymrer sig så meget om komfort, er dette sted PERFEKT! Vil ikke anbefale det til romantisk ferie.

Отличное расположение. До пляжа и до Рамблы минут 10 пешком. Уютное старое здание с уютными комнатами. Всем довольны. И огромное спасибо Альбине !!!!

Detta B&B stämmer ej med beskrivningen på Hotels.Com. Vare sid AC eller balkonger fanns. Frukosten var i stort sett obefintlig. Efter att vi bokat var det enda svar vi fick autoreply. Detta trots ett flertal mail och telefonsamtal. B&B Gabriel ligger i ett vanligt trapphus med flera andra lägenheter. Ingenstans fanns någon hänvisning om vilken lägenhet som var Gabriel. Efter att vi ringt på 6 dörrar hittade vi till sist rätt. Då kom nästa problem. Killen som öppnade kunde bara ryska och dålig spanska. Fördelen med Gabriel är läget. Nära till både strand, hamnen, La Rambla och de Gotisca kvarteren. B&A

Ett OK hotell att bo på, man får vad man betalar för och det var oerhört centralt. Dock var det rätt nedgånget och det de kallar frukost var obefintligt, alla pålägg utom sylt tog slut dag ett och fylldes aldrig på... det kan man leva med men det är ju bra att veta i förväg... Det som dock var under all kritik var bokningsproceduren och incheckningen. Vi bokade tidigt men fick inget svar mer än "autoreply, vi kontaktar dig inom 48 timmar". Då vi fick mer information (via Hotels.com, Gabriel svarade fortfarande inte) fick vi reda på att vi inte kunde checka in efter 15:00 ville vi avboka en dag (av 5) men Gebriel svarade inte och Hotels.com kunde inget göra... Vi fick heller inte reda på var vi kunde checka in och efter tre veckors konstant mailade (och sökning via telefon) svarade äntligen Gabriel och sade då att alla mail hade hamnat i spam (skickade från gmail...) så han bad om ursäkt men det var först då vi visste att vi hade fått rum och det var 2 dagar innan vi reste dit.Oerhört dålig service och arrogant beteende, dessutom kunde de inte engelska bra (eller ens halvdant) så att kommunicera var inte lätt. Kan du inte spanska flytande så bör du inte bo här.

Perfect - in the heart of Barcelona..... Is only a 3 star B&B but the location in the centre of Barre Gotic is absolutly amazing. If you go to Barcelona you have to be out and enjoying this wondefuld city not in your room. The appartment is clean and nice - but not luxuriuos. Ill recorment Gabriel anyday! Great value!

Bonjour, je garde une très mauvaise impression, là je bataille avec le gérant pour obtenir une facture. Nous n'avons pas été reçu par monsieur Gabriel qui parle anglais mais par une dame qui ne parlait que espagnol. J'ai du faire un virement bancaire sur le compte de ce monsieur, il ne s'en souvenait même plus, je n'ai pas eu de facture alors qu'il m'en faut une absolument, je commence à être plus qu'agacée par ce monsieur qui manque énormémement de professionnalisme. Il ne se souvient même plus de ma réservation. Pour avoir une facture, je dois lui rappeler mon nom, mon prénom, ma nationalité alors que je lui avais déjà fourni les éléments pas mail. Bref un enfert ! Lors de notre arrivée on nous a envoyé dans un autre bâtiment lugubre, on nous a fait monter une centaine de marches avant d'arriver à l'appartement où l'on était pas seul, il y avait trois autres chambres en plus de la notre, on partageait cuisine, salle de bain, WC avec d'autres personnes et cela n'était absolument pas mentionner sur votre site. L'entrée d'une chambre voisine donnant dans la notre a été bouchée par du polystyrène, meubles cassés, volets qui ne ferment pas, et j'en passe !!! Heureusement que c'était un court séjour (3 nuits) car nous avons vraiment été déçus par la prestation. J'ai du faire un virement alors que sur le mail de confirmation de réservation que j'ai reçu il était écrit réglement à l'hôtel. Le seul point positif c'est que nous étions à côté de la Rambla mais c'est l'unique.

Der Aufenthalt im Gabriel war sehr angenehm. Das Zimmer war sehr gross, Küche und Bad gross und immer super aufgeräumt. Es gab sogar kostenlose Müsliflocken, Brot, Milch u Marmelade. Jedoch war es nachts oft laut - zumal wir wegen der Temperaturen das Fenster offen lassen haben. Die Betreuung vor Ort war sehr nett und sympatisch. Insgesamt empfehlenswert und super Preis- Leistungsverhältnis!

très déçus !!!! nous avons été logés dans une annexe de l'hotel , l'immeuble était affreux , morbide .. le petit déjeuner n'en était pas un : croissants emballés , une brique de lait et de jus d'orange pour tous les résidents ... bref , pas du tout un standing de 3 étoiles ... A DECONSEILLER FORTEMENT!!!

Gabriel is a beautiful big flat that has one kitchen (with a washing machine), 4 rooms and a spacious living room.. we had a room with an included bathroom.The room was beautiful, just the beds were not so comfortable.. the bathroom was small but enough. The flat was empty, so we were always alone and felt like at home, could use the kitchen and living room, iron, balcony like we wanted. I definitely recommend this hotel/flat to young couples, or small groups of 2 or 3 people, not for families.

We zaten op een prima locatie,aan het eind van het Ramblas,dichtbij een bakker en supermarkt en de haven. De B&B was op zich netjes,alleen wij hadden een kamer zonder raam,wat erg warm en benauwd was. De airco konden we na inchecken erbij "huren"voor 48,-euro. Het was een mobiele airco,met een slang die naar buiten moest en dan zou onze deur niet op slot kunnen. Dit hebben we dus niet gedaan. Wat ik ook vervelend vond,was dat de gastvrouw geen Engels spreekt. Het bed was wel prima,en we hebben goed geslapen. En omdat we de hele stad gingen verkennen,hebben we er alleen geslapen,dus vroeg uit bed en `s avonds heel laat er weer in. Voor deze reizigers is het een prima B&B.(Alleen dan een kamer met raam...;-))

Appartement idéalement situé à 2 pas de la Rembla et du métro dans une ruelle très calme. Malheureusement la climatisation ne produisait que de l'air à température ambiante accompagné d'une odeur nauséabonde ce qui nous obligé à la couper et impossible de joindre qui que ce soit pour le signaler . Le problème ne devait pas être récent car il y avait plusieurs ventilateurs dans l'appartement. Le réfrigérateur ne refroidissait que très peu. Circulation difficile dans la pièce principale encombrée de meubles inutiles dont une TV inutilisable.

Vi bodde i rummet utan fönster, det ingick AC oc det var bra för annanrs hade man inte stått ut. Man delar toalett, men den är fräsch och stor så det är inga problem. Det är gångavstånd till stan och alla sevärdheter längs la rambla. Vi gck även 45 min till Sagrade familia. Hostellet är verkligen ett budgethostel, men absolut prisvärt. Vi och vad vi hörde från andra hotellgäster hade dock lite problem med betalningen. Vi kom dit och betalade cash, för att dagen därpå inse att de dragit samma summa från mitt kort. Men vi fick tillbaka kontanter efter krångel. SÅ HÅLL KOLL PÅ VART DOM DEBITERAR DIG och be om kvitto!!! Annars är det att rekommendera OM man vill leva centralt och billigt och inte är i Barcelona för att stanna på hotellrummet hela dagen!

On ne s'attendait pas à du grand luxe ... on a payé l'emplacement proche des commodités. Beaucoup de bruit le soir, très chaud malgré les ventilateurs. Si on revient à Barcelone, on ne viendra plus en centre ville mais on restera en dehors et on fera les trajets en métro.

Good location right in center. You can expect some noice from pubs, bars. In our flat we was promised 55 m2 living room. The flat was max 55 2 totally so very small living room 12 m2. Really bad smell from cloak in the toilet. All in all ok.

Selve opholdet var upåklageligt, men kommunikationen med hotellet var meget svær, der var ingen reception så kommunikationen foregik per email på svært forståeligt engelsk. og der var flere ting der ikke var tydelige mht check in, betaling, check out osv.

This is the worst B&B I´ve ever been, for sure. I selected at www.hoteis.com and paid many months in advance to be sure everything would be ok. At the arrival, a big surprise at the door, telling that the place was not there and not to disturb the neighboors... Luckly I was able to make a phone call with the barely readable number in a paper at the door. Then the problems with the payment. After asking me to sign a paper I stupidly didn´t read before, agreeing that I would pay again (and that the CC payment was only a waranty deposit), I had to debate long to get them to agree to leave me sleep there and solve the issue in the next day. Luckly again, I had the Credit Card bill showing that I completely paid for the stay and that was not a pre charge. The situation was solved, but honestly, this caused a stress that I don´t want to ever have again in my travels. Reading my email in the next day, a message from them explaining what would happen was there, and was sent while I was travelling. Ok, they told me that this would happen, but way too late... and not in accordance with what was shown during the reservation / payment. I don´t consider fair to explain the terms of the stay only 2 days before, since the payment was done earlier than 2 months before.

Αν και η κράτηση και οι πληροφορίες που μας παρασχέθηκαν δεν ανταποκρίνονταν σε αυτό που αντικρίσαμε, το διαμέρισμα ήταν σε πολύ κεντρική και βολική τοποθεσία.
