I've been to any hotels with my family, this one was one of my favorite. I was very comfy sleeping, complement bfast was good. I would use this hotel again in near future.

We had a great weekend here celebrating my husband's birthday. The service was great, the staff were kind, the room was incredibly clean, bright, and comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. I will definitely be staying here again!

Nice, clean and good service. Continental breakfast was fantastic! Parking was tight but decent. Neighborhood was marginal but it's Santa Cruz.

Time to upgrade those rock hard mattresses with something that has some kind of padding on it! Glad to go home after three sleepless nights, even the extra pillows they offered did not help! OUr room overlooked someones dirty back yard, Appeared to be in a "low rent" neighborhood, a little afraid to walk around at night.

Everything at this hotel was better than expected for the Santa Cruz area except the beds were rather hard.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The beds were comfy with a choice of soft and firm pillows. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was good and the coffee great. It is nicely located and one can comfortably walk to shopping, eateries, etc. I would highly recommend this hotel and will stay again.

The staff was very efficient. The only thing I questioned was the safety deposit box. They didn't have one in the room but gave us one at the front desk. They brought a metal box out from the office, I placed my items and she took it away unlocked. I questioned it and was told that it would take the key they gave me (after the fact) and a key from the manager to access the box. When I returned to get my items out the desk person took my key and again went into the back office. Everything was there, but I think the process was odd. The location was not ideal for the Boardwalk, but only a $12 cab ride away.

It was wonderful in most aspects. We liked our room. However, housekeeping was very neglectful and two days out of our four-day stay we didn't have our room cleaned. We did call for towels and someone gave us those and then cleaned the room one of those days. But, the last full day we were there, housekeeping did not even show up to clean!!!!

Front desk employees very helpful. Very nice hotel, location is tough because of the homelessness in Santa Cruz. However, the hotel itself is wonderful.

It would have been better if they had remembered to put coffee in the room.

The room was spacious and nice (2queen suite), plenty of covered parking, and a "no party" policy which I greatly appreciated as surrounding area hotels have been extremely loud and full of partiers. My only issue was the surrounding neighborhood. There a lot of homeless/street people out front and in the nearby area.

This is a very quiet place. Its very clean and the room was nice. I will defiantly stay here again. The guy at the front desk was also very nice.

This would have been a much better visit (despite I had asked for something with a view, and the view was of some shabby house next door and the only thing I could see was the street) if I could regulate the room temperature. The use of the internet computer was essential and very convenient. The Manager was not friendly, the new employee okay, only the morning employee very nice.

The hotel in beautiful and the rooms are very comfortable. Hotel personnel were GREAT! Location isn't close enough to walk to the boardwalk but driving is only about 10 mins away. Swimming pool is in a open atrium in the middle of the hotel. Elevators so no undo walking. Parking garage below with elevator is fabulous.

Place is brand new and staff was great. One negative has to do with exitiing from the underground parking lot. Cars come up at a steep angle and has you get to the high point you cannot see if there are any cars in front of you waiting to exit to busy Ocean avenue. Ok if only one car but if there were two there is the potential to run into that 2nd car if you are accelerating as you come up from the garage.

Great service, room was comfortable and clean. Will definitely stay again.

Well-designed and well-kept property with courteous staff. I give it an overall of 4 only because there is little to no accommodation for smokers. But, it IS located in an ultra-liberal/communist city.

I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a good deal. Staff was very helpful, room was clean and comfortable, hotel was overall updated. Breakfast was good.

Good nice place. Need to see about getting movies on the tv. Also no mini bar

My fiancé and I stayed here for 1 night for a quick weekend getaway to Santa Cruz. The location was decent, closer to the highway than the beach, which for us, was ok. The hotel was clean and the room was large enough and the staff was helpful and friendly. I'd stay here again.

The people working were very friendly and helpful and I would recommend this place to anyone who stays in Santa Cruz. Thank you for you service and hospitality!

If you're looking for a hotel literally right off the freeway that's is only 8 minutes from downtown and 8 minutes to the beach then great but that's only with driving. From freeway to the heart of Santa Cruz it's all relatively close but we were hoping to be more "inland." Everything is super close from Ocean street we just wanted to be further from freeway and able to walk. Otherwise, SUPER GREAT HOTEL!! Clean, super friendly, decent hot breakfast, and we even got upgraded for free!

the hotel was nice ! clueless people letting there kids be very noisy ,running through the hall areas, the hotel mus not be very well insulated , we heard people talking in the rooms and lots of door noise ,not the hotels fault I know,also ocean st is a low lifer magnet for those that don't know santa cruz

The initial service from the night clerk was less than expected, from my previous stays at Holiday Inn Express.. He was not helpful, he made me feel like I was an imposition for him. I thought this was because he was on the late shift, but found that the rest of the shifts seemed to be the same. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone that I know.

We were driving down Highway 1 from San Fran to LA, and we stopped here for a night. The room was very comfortable, clean and tidy, the receptionist was very helpful and recommended we visited an area to visit for restaurants, the name escapes me, but it was very good, lots of choice. We would stop here again if we were in the area, location was good.

We did just an overnight, but found the room to be comfortable and clean. Location is good with easy access on and off freeway. Our room, on the 3rd floor, was quiet and clean. Lots of restaurants close by and it seemed like downtown Santa Cruz was close driving. Would definitely stay there again.

The hotel lobby was very nice, the room was clean and the mattress was great, BUT whoever built this hotel saved a few $$ on construction costs. The walls are thin like a cheaper hotel. I could hear guests walking the halls from laying in our bed. The footsteps in the room above us almost echoed into our room. AND the parking garage was designed for tiny, tall cars only!!! With not enough spaces for guests in a full hotel. Actually, there is not enough space for this hotel on the property its crammed on. This is not what I expect for a "Holiday Inn Express". Too bad. Would not recommend.

We enjoyed our stay. Very nice hotel!

The rooms were large and clean. The lighting in the bathroom was great! The walls are a bit thin - at one point during the night I could hear snoring in the room next to me and a baby crying in the room above us. The breakfast was awesome and the staff were super helpful. I would stay here again.

It was a nice hotel, just not excellent....but no complaints except that the surrounding area was not the greatest.
