Hotel Kossak - קרקוב

A charming hotel. Beautiful view from 7 th floor terrace of Wawel Castle. In between old town and Kazimiez -so short walking distance to both. very friendly staff. Suggestion-windows in room are locked -ask staff to unlock to get fresh air.

I planned a three day break for my daughter and myself. after reading the reviews it sounded like a reasonable Hotel and a very reasonable price with a great location; easy walking to the old town. Google earth does not do the Hotel justice as it's outer appearance is misleading. It is an outstanding hotel; quality everywhere, contemporary, modern, friendly. We arrived early and it was not a problem, the staff not only allowed and facilitated an early check in but also ensured we had the best room available with a view over the castle. I simply cannot fault this hotel. If you are looking for a short break this is ideal, you can walk to the old town in 5 minutes, to Schindler’s factory and the Ghetto in about 15 minutes.

lovely hotel with a fabulous view of the castle. Very friendly and helpfull staff, especially Monika at reception who could not do enough for us. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We stayed 3 nights and were most impressed. Don't be put off by the outer appearance (looks tiny and on the corner of a supermarket), this hotel is really smart inside. Very clean and modern, great breakfast and friendly staff. Staff arranged our taxi back to the airport but we arrived on the 292 bus (longer journey than the train but it was just about to depart so I think it worked out the same as shuttle and wait for train). Main square is just 10 mins away and you soon get your bearings. Orangerie restaurant on top floor gives great views and food, our 3 course meal and drinks cost £30. Our room didnt have a river/castle view but we didn't spent much time there so it wasn't a problem. If you are going to spend more time at the hotel I would suggest you pay extra for a view.

Excellent..never been to Krakow?..Stay at the Kossak!

Hotel Kossak was a lovely hotel. Close to the old quarter and lovely view of the castle. Would definitely recommend it.

Nice boutique style hotel in very convenient location. Some rooms have a view of the river but all are nicely furnished. Happy hour at the bar is a must as is free coffee in the morning on the lovely roof terrace.

The hotel is a nice modern hotel in easy walking distance to the tourist attractions and the main square. The food in the roof top restaurant was excellent, and there is a great view of the castle from there. There is a supermarket conveniently located next to the hotel. Guests should ask about the 10% discount off food and drink on arrival. Would definitely stay again.

Very enjoyable stay -well staffed with excellent breakfasts.Rooftop bar and terrace very pleasant with good view of the castle.

Very friendly and helpful, good english spoken by all staff, clean and comfortable, loved the roof top reataurant, and conveniently located for the castle and old market square. In other words we really couldn't fault it! Would definitely book again.

this is a wonderful hotel with a delicious restaurant. I'm in a wheelchair and unfortunately did not get up to the roof top restaurant but they let me order from that restaurant's menu while eating downstairs.

was not happy with room, I booked for 3 adults and got a double bed, no other room available, one of us had to sleep on fold out couch, not suitable for adult, complained but no satisfaction. The room was advertised suitable for 3 adults , but it was not.

We loved this hotel. The staff was amazingly helpful. Beautiful, clean and in a great location. We were across the street from all our sightseeing tour pick up locations. I would stay again in a heartbeat!

Excellent room with comfy beds. Our room had a great castle view. It was quiet, we couldn't even hear the chamber maids outside the room in the mornings. Nice bathroom with a radio.

Effortless stay - safe, congenial, good facilities in hotel and helpful staff. The outstanding feature of the hotel is undoubtedly the rooftop cafe which has stunning panoramic views of krakow and interesting food.

This hotel was excellent. It has a wonderful rooftop restaurant/cafe with fantastic views over the river and the city. The staff were excellent and the hotel was in top condition. The breakfast had a very good choice and the food quality was excellent. I would definitely stay here again and would have no hesitation in recommending it.

This was a great hotel. They provided great service and helped us set up tours of the city and Auschwitz.

The hotel was a 10 min walk from the main square - but at the foot of the castle. It has a brilliant terrace overlooking the castle and the river. Service at the hotel was excellent with a good buffet breakfast in the morning. Highly recommended. The room was not huge but comfortable.

Perfect hotel in location, amenities, views. Most even number rooms face Wawel Castle with stunning views. Walking distance to all attractions and steps away from touring bus lot (salt mines, Auchwitz, Jewish Quarter, etc.). Half the price of other big name hotel but with better view, great service, exceptional rooftop restaurant and lounge. Parking a little funky but manageable. If rate comes with breakfast all coffee drinks are free in morning(cappuccino, latte, etc.). Rooms are spacious and have free water and tea. Very clean and modern rooms. Bathroom has hair dryer. TV has little to no English channels (no big deal, though).

Gotta admit: beautiful location, amazing hotel food, and the service was impeccable. When I come back to the city I will definitely stay here again!

Great hotel I would recommend to any of my friends. There is nothing bad about it!

Room (402) was very boring and dark, no view at all. Right under our window there was some sort of discharging area for shop. Pretty noisy at 7 AM. Service at hotel was five star but room only two or three.

Great hotel, staff were really helpful couldn't do enough for you, room was modern, fresh, clean, overlooking great view of the castle. Had the breakfast every morning, great selection to suit all tastes, had dinner also in the restaurant which I couldn't fault was delicious and so reasonably priced. Only issue with the room was the temperature - it was too warm and the A/C system didn't seem to make any difference but this was only small issue. Hotel is only about 10 mins walk to Old Town so nice and central. Would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Krakow.

Lovely hotel in a great location The hotel was 10 mins walk from Jewish quarter and same from old town centre Just across the road was the bus pick up points for day trips to salt mines and Auschwitz Hotel was perfectly clean and well decorated, rooms were everything that is needed in a city hotel - large enough (not huge) clean, tidy, all the add ons that are needed, tea and coffee, individual heating / cooling, TV etc Only advise would be to request a river view room, our room overlooked the supermarket loading bays this did not spoil the time in the hotel as it is so close to all the main areas we were out in the city rather than looking at it from the room - we were not disturbed by noise from the loading bays either, so really a minor observation rather than a complaint Breakfast was wonderful, quality, quantity choice, no complaints at all for a special dining experience take lunch and evening meal in the 7th floor restaurant the views of the city are stunning - quality of food and the service are worth it alone, but the view adds something extra All staff were friendly and professional, standard of English spoken put our holiday Polish to shame lovely hotel with great staff and perfect location, that we would recommend, more to the point we would definitely stay here again, with no hesitation. A great place to stay

The hotel is extremely comfortable and having the roof terrace is a huge advantage,particularly if you stay in the summer months.We spent New Years Eve at the hotel and the ball was fantastic and then on the terrace at midnight to watch the fireworks it was magical.About a ten minute walk to the town centre but there are local shops and bars nearby.

After driving for 6 hours I arrived at this hotel and discover how well located it is and how helpful the staff was. The rooms were very comfortable and offered great services. The only downside perhaps is the TV offer of channels (a bit limited), but that is the only negative thing to say. The breakfast buffet was great too. I will for sure return.

Well-run hotel in great location for visiting the main sites of Krakow. Good room. Good restaurant, including breakfast. Good value. Excellent service.

This was a very nice, clean, modern little hotel in a good location, but it didn't have all the comforts I hoped for. Pros included very comfortable beds, great view and proximity of the Vistula River and Wawel castle and starting point of many bus tours. The one major con was the shower. The shower was in the tub with no shower curtain - just a half wall of glass in the short end of the tub. Any old, physically challenged or over-sized person would have a VERY difficult time showering. Even for a fit person it was uncomfortable and would be reason enough for me not to recommend this hotel even given all it's other pros.

We read good reviews before we booked this hotel but we noticed that a few people complained about it. When we got there though we were very, very satisfied. This hotel is excellent value. It had little extras that other hotels we stayed at in Rome, Lyon, Nice didn't. Simple things like a bottle opener. The room we had was also spacious. We had a view of the river and the castle. The bathroom was a good size too. My only complaint about the room would be the television being mounted in an awkward location on the wall. This is very minor though. In terms of location, it only takes ten minutes to walk into the old town square. It really is not that far. If you are a pensioner then maybe it's not good. However, if you are an able-bodied person under the age of 70 then this distance is really not an issue. Overall a great place for us. We were happy with it.

we stayed in this hotel while in Krakow and found it a lovely place , nice staff and handy location for the main square as its only a 5/10 minute walk. we had a nice view from the room of the castle and river and found it nice and quiet when we wanted to sleep after a night out. would stay again when we return to to krakow for another visit

The Hotel Kossak was in a very good location. Roof top restaurant food excellent with wonderful views over to Wawel Castle. Friendly, helful staff made our stay very enjoyable.

Although not very attractive from the outside the Hotel Kossak proved to be a very comfortable, modern, clean, friendly and well run hotel. The breakfast options were huge and the food of excellent quality. We dined in the Orangerie restaurant on one night, a very good meal, attentive but not intrusive service and a wonderful view of the castle. The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the centre of Krakow but very well placed for the castle and cathedral, the river, local trams and tour buses. The open area opposite leading down to the river and to the castle gives the feeling of light and space. Overall we were very pleased with our choice of hotel.

We had a beautiful view if Wawel Castle and river. The room were clean and if a very high standard. Ver highly recommended.

First class in all respects. First class staff wishing to help and assist speaking good english. Great location and outlook to castle. Clean and well managed providing all that is required while away. Would look forward to returning again.

Very nice well kept hotel. Seventh floor restaurant is magnificante. Very close to the central market, (wonderfull place there). Only 10 minutes car to main train station, which basically takes you everywhere in Poland, 25 minutes to Krakow airport. Very helpfull staff always smiling and willing to help. Restaurant breakfast was also great. Very very worth it. Should be a 5 star!! Will definatley return to Hotel Kossak!

The hotel was reasonably nice, the restaurant (when open, had very good dinners), however the breakfast was beyond horrible!!! As well, in the 4 nights we stayed there, the restaurant was closed 2 nights. The staff were nice and spoke very good english, however there was no conceirge service available to assist patrons. The area was near Wawel Castle which provided a nice view, but was about a 15 minute walk from the shopping district and the Old Town. Should I return to Krakow (which I probably won't, because the city itself doesn't impress like Warsaw does) I would definitely choose to stay elsewhere!!!

Fantastic location and very easy to get around by tram, bus or walking. Hotel excellent in all respects.

A lovely hotel very close (about 5-7 minute walk) to the main square. The room was very comfortable with quite possible the best pillows i have ever had in a hotel room! The only food we ate at the hotel was breakfast which was ok i suppose but nothing special. We didn't eat in the restaurant or order room service. The roof top bar was a nice place for a drink at the end of the evening.

very good location, just 10mins walk from the old town, main square which can be quite loud at night, so we enjoyed relaxing and peaceful nights.

We stayed at the Hotel Kossak in July. Impression from the outside was not all that good bt changed once we were inside. The staff were all helpful, friendly and efficient. The hotel and rooms in particular were very clean. The inclusive breakfast was plentiful, and good variety. We dined at the Cafe Orangerie which has splendid roof top views on top of which the food and total dining experience was exceptional, one of the best meals I have ever had. as for the location. it was about a 10 minute stroll to the main square through the streets and pedestrianised 'Planty' surrounding the town, or along side the river to the jewish quarter or main town. Just enough after taking a meal. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel. There is a nightclub on the rooftop next door but we were not bothered by this. We were on the first floor anyway and the rooms were well insulated against any traffic noise. We also used the services of 'Krakowshuttle' for airport transfers and local tours. They were reliable, efficient, friendly and good value for money.

Brilliant value for money on the fringe of the old town close to Wawel Castle. Room was clean and comfortable with a view over the River Wista and breakfast was very generous and tasty.

The hotel is situated directly across the river to Wawel castle, however our bedroom looked into a backyard bulding site. The room was very clean and tidy very comfortable, and kept that way through our stay. We dined in a few times and the food was excellent. The roof top restaurant has stunning views across Krakow with an open balcony for dining alfresco, again however the hotel let itself down by having this facility closed on several occassions for private parties, leaving hotel guests to dine downstairs. Bar service was awfull with opening and closing at the staffs own discretion it would appear, 1 night it closed at midnight, next we were told it was closed at 10pm having just spent £100 in the restaurant. Reception staff were very friendly and helpfull with a good knowledge of the city and sights to see etc.
