The Artist Cottage - וולקנו

The town of Volcano is very remote. It was a real pleasure to find a place where everything is provided (the fridge is full).The house is full of fresh flowers, fresh fruits and anything you will ever need for your hiking - rain coats, flashlights etc. We highly reccommend it.

We only stayed a night, but I think this place deserves at least a week. Bob was so welcoming, the cottage is homely and simply charming. Volcano Village is small, and the entire area is difficult to do without at least some mode of transport, but the cottage is easy cycling distance to the N.P. while feeling a hundred years away. The only negative is that the spa is a little close to Bob and Bonnie's place (down the back of the cottage), which, if you're a little self-conscious, might be a barrier to using it. Overall though, I have already been raving about this place to any and every person I think might go to Hawaii in the future!

Bob and Bonnie have thoughts of literally everything to make our stay at the Artist Cottage wonderful and pleasant. soft towels, stocked fridge, freezer, and cabinets with goodies, plenty of toiletries. they are wonderful and the location is just five minutes from the Volcano. My wife and I highly recommend

Very comfortable and convenient. Bob and Bonnie are great hosts. We were very happy with the experience.

The cottage is very clean, cosy and quiet. The owner is very nice and dedicated to your comfort. It is located in the rain forrest close to the Volcano Park. The Volcano village is very small, so don't loose your time to find a real foodmarket.

GREAT OWNERS, WILL DO ANYTHING TO MAKE STAY A GREAT TIME. GOOD LOCATION TO VOLCANO. WORTH THE MONEY. LG

This little one bed-room cottage is old but well maintained. Very clean bathroom, nice bedroom and reasonable kitchen. Plenty of stuff to munch on. The only drawback is it has no central temperature control and relies on heater and a gas fire place. It got hot and we turned off before we went to bed. In the morning it become really cold. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind to go back again.

My wife and I didn't know what to expect as we are usually not fans of "b & b". We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived to learn that we had the whole cottage to ourselves (you do not share the cottage with other renters)! The owners were very friendly while respecting our privacy and the home was well stocked with amenities. They even provided a laptop for Internet access! I would definitely recommend this cottage and we had wished we stayed for more than one night. For those who love to complain, please keep in mind this is a cottage so please do not expect floor to ceiling Italian marble... this is a very comfortable, clean, cozy cottage 5 minutes drive from the National Volcano park.

The Artist Cottage was a wonderful experience for us. At first, we didn't know how to check in, but the owner lives right behind the cottage (and used to live in it). They provided lots of food, toiletries, and outerwear that we weren't expecting, and even came over on an unseasonably cool evening to start the fire for us. We were really pleased with everything and even took advantage of the laundry machines out back. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful and we'd certainly try to stay here again if we return. Great for couples and there's room for kids too.

Proprietors are artists and decor of cottage reflects this. Very interesting and appealing. Came with a stocked pantry (pleasant surprise). Heartily recommend.

Easy access to volcano and surrounding area

Perfect location close to the national park. Charming and friendly hosts. Umbrellas, flashlights and rain jackets are provided. A fridge stocked to the brim with food for your breakfasts. We will recommend to all our friends and family!

Bob et Bonnie , les deux proprietaires du cottage, sont vraiment attentionnes et charmants. Arbre de Noel et decorations de circonstance, bouteille de vin pour l'accueil, plateau de fruits frais sur la table joliment dressee... Nous avons ete tres bien accueillis et la maison, confortable et bien equipee, est bien situee, tout pres du parc des volcans. Nous avons meme recu des cadeaux de Noel ! Nous recommandons vivement cet hotel a tous ceux qui souhaitent sortir un peu de la ville et se retrouver dans un ecrin de verdure.

Bonnie and Bob offer to the guests the best comfort, ℅ is customized and goes beyond an inn or traditional hotel. the rooms estan full of pleasant details, beautiful paintings of Bonnie. Everything in the rooms, kitchen and baths this to the total availability of the guests, doing something better than at home. 200% recommendable
