The Grand Hotel McKinney - מק'קיני

Great location. Minor suggestions... wardrobe and entertainment center (for old tube tv that i didnt watch) were too big for the room... fitness equipment needs some love. other than that very nice stay

The hotel is located perfectly to McKinney's fun old-town downtown. Easy walking distance to great food although the hotel has a top restaurant in-house. (Many previous guests here recommended 'Spoons' cafe for breakfast as it was only a block away. We do not recommend that cafe. The food was sparse, lacking flavor, and my over-easy eggs came with a long blonde hair cooked into the whites. The pancake tasted like it had been cooked on the sidewalk and what Texas cafe serves up water gravy (milk gravy is the tradition)? Instead, you should order breakfast in the room or eat in the hotel restaurant.) The beds were very comfortable and the rooms are quiet. You will need to call down for extra pillows as they only provide 2 but the staff is excellent and moves quickly to cover all needs. We will stay here again, for sure!

I liked this place a lot, the hotel itself was nice with a modernized bathroom in an older hotel with character. The main selling point is the great location right by the square and a nice coffee shop next door. I imagine this would be a great place for a relaxing weekend retreat.

Doesn't look like much on the outside, but the room was very well set up, the bathroom was clean and attractive and the beds were comfortable. Nice staff and great location right in the middle of downtown McKinney, walking distance from several really good restaurants (Sauce and Spoons). Will definitely stay here again in the future.

needed at ,least one easy chair and I did request a lamp for the desk and one was delivered immediately

The focus of my review is on the room and the bed specifically. Incredible. I think I could catch up on a year of sleep in a week's time there. I can't wait to stay again. Everything else, except a snide, condescending look from the owner of the place in a chance hallway pass-by, was superb.

It was a great experience. Lovely setting, and the service was excellent.

Stayed there with friends of 35 years for a wedding. The reception was at the hotel. The hotel was very nice and the food and service was great. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Lots to do and see downtown.

We had a pleasant stay. The hotel has easy access to some great resturants. The staff was very friendly, and the room we stayed in (Rm 202) was spacious and the king size bed was fabulous. The only knock I would give them is that their TV's in the room are very outdated.

After staying in nice conventional rooms on our vacation this was our wild card. It was a wonderful surprise! It was lovely, elegant, and the people were so nice. No there wasn't a breakfast, but you could order one, and by walking down the street a few steps there was a terrific place called Spoons, that made a great breakfast. By then the square was open for meandering around. We really enjoyed it.

For the price best hotel in dfw!

I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Everything here is amazing.

Stayed for a quick weekend getaway and loved it. Very nice hotel and surrounding downtown square. Relaxing and comfortable. The only amenity we found missing was an in-room movie option (but that's a minor complaint).

Very clean. It is a very old building right off the old town square, which has been very nicely restored. The bathroom was very modern. WiFi worked great. I did use the little down stairs gym and it was plenty good for a hotel small gym. I will be returning to McKinney a number of times for work and will stay here again. The hotel has a very nice restaurant (up scale), plus a couple in the town square, one minute walk. Your are about 1 mile from the interstate with lots of restaurants available.

Five stars in a great location. Right off the square. Ricks and Spoons are awesome. Think of it as the Adolphus hotel Mckinney version.

Very nice facility. The room was nice and big and update well. Would stay here again.

GREAT STAFF!!! I have a HORRIBLE experience there where I was physically assaulted by another guest so maybe that's why have such a bad taste in my mouth for this place. The staff is great and it's a nice place, but just WAY too over priced for what you get. The rooms are very small and not worth the money. There are other places much cheaper just down the street on the main highway and the cabs in town are cheap so you can just cab-it to any placce there.

I thought this was a beautiful hotel and would definitely stay there again and recommend to others. I arrived late and left early so I wish I had spent more time there to enjoy the room.
