Neelam's The Grand Hotel Goa - Calangute

POSITIVE POINTS: I would stay here again as simply for its location and price, its among the best. Welcome drink was a nice gesture and was refreshing. Manager at the hotel was very helpful in solving issues regarding the cancellation of one of our 2 rooms booked due to a fire accident at my friends home. I had stayed in the new building and the room was nice n comfortable. Live music was there which was a nice touch near the swimming pool & bar area. NEGATIVE POINTS: Breakfast was not good enough, specially when it came to variety so just had it once at the hotel out of my 4 days. Prefer to waste rest of my coupons. Room service was VERY SLOW specially when it came to asking for bathing and hand towels. They don't seem to understand hand towel and I had a hard time explaining the same to them saying that they want me to use bathing towel to dry my face and hands whenever I wash my hands and face in the washbasin.......

nothing too grand but comfortable , incredible amount of paperwork going on . but would go back

The Location of the Hotel is good with big comfortable rooms but the food quality needs some improvements.

Beautiful hotel with great comfort rooms. Nice restaurant to cater for into and western tastes and a centralised location makes it a great choice. Will definitely come here again. Staff are very friendly.

Reserve a room with pool view otherwise you will be very disappointed. More English speaking staff can make one's stay better. Could not understand why pool is not for use after 19h00...best time to swim. Friendly staff, good location. Good breakfast. Recommended.

Just came back from the Goa, Neelams hotel. Overall impression is still good, however the hotel did not leave up to the expectations. ROOM: I have booked CP club select superior deluxe room, which according to description was supposed to be a perfection, but it turned out to be just a very big room. Actually, all rooms at the hotel are CP club select superior deluxe as I figured, so do not expect any luxury there. Furniture is old, walls have stains, bed is very hard, bed lining is definitely not "premium". It is not bad hotel, just not the quality that you expect for that money. FOOD: Breakfast is not continental. Lots of indian stuff. If you want european food, they have quite good omlet and some pastry/jam only. Coffee is bad in the restaurant, but near reception desk there is a separate coffee stand where for 23 Rs you get very good espresso. POOL: pool of Neelams the Grand is very good, big & clean, but is in the shadow most of the day. STAFF: there is a lot of staff around, some are sensible, some are not. Overall, good service. BEACH: the road to the beach takes about 10-15 mins, but there is no road as such. You have to navigate between cars, bikes and cows and other crowd, not pleasant walk at all. Better to take a cab (100 Rs), at least you will feel safer. Calangute beach has a lot of shacks where you get sunbed and towels and service from the bar. Loved to go there at night, they put chairs on the beach front, light the candles and serve food and drinks. Very romantic! Baga beach nearby offers plenty of nightlife experiences. NEELAMS THE GLITZ: next to Neelams the Grand there is a new built hotel Neelams the Glitz. This facility is new, has excellent pool, that is on the 2nd floor terrace and always sunny. You can use that facility if you stay at the Grand, but if going again, I would definitely prefer to stay at the Glitz! The restaurant offers good selection of seafood, though had bad experience ordering fish and crabs once. Good dinner for one costs a

We stayed at the hotel in august. We find the hotel excellent and real value for money. Though pool isa bit small but it was clean and we enjoyed the pool a lot. We have been given pool facing GF room which was very spacious though we missed room refrigerator. In comparision to the size of room, bath room was bit small in size but was clean and neat.

its a nice accomodation with good services.breakfast is also good...must visit once...specially neelams the blitz...swimming pool is great very neat n clean...

we booked a standard ac suite, but when we arrived there was a large group already there so they were out of standard suites, so they upgraded me to their superior suite. what a room it was. king size bed, big size lcd tv, a/c, electric kettle and the regulars of course. me and wifey were ecstatic. our breakfast was included in the package. they have a limited variety in breakfast, but the food was good. the best is the live egg/omlette counter. the only soggy spot was that their pool side bar was under maintenance. our rooms were cleaned to the utmost satisfaction everyday. the staff was very courteous and polite. since i travelled by car and i had planned to leave goa early in the morning i.e. before breakfast timings, the staff ensured that we had veg sandwiches and tea/coffee in the wee hours also. not only that the packed a couple of sandwiches and wafers for us to munch on the way. what a delighful service. Neelam's the grand would be my first choice to stay in any hotel in goa, on my next trip.

Thanks to Mr. Nagraj (from Neelam The Grand ) Overall ,it was an awsome stay in this Hotel ,we enjoyed our trip . And Neelam The Grand ,played an important role in this - : ) . As we checked in ,we were alloted those rooms ,which we never thought or which was promised . Then after complaining ,they tried to find some other room ,but in that AC was not working . I called hotel.com , they explained to hotel.com that we have only this room available and this is the only one in our deal . I talked to the Head or the person who was managing all in that Hotel about the rooms ,and i told him that i can pay extra but i will stay in those rooms ,then we saw different rooms ,we selected other room .But after the conversation he agreed to give that room without any extra charge , and after that it was a pleasure staying in that hotel . If i neglect the check-in experience ,i fopund this hotel as one of the best hotel in Goa ,specially about the location .

The Superior Rooms in this hotel are very Bad 1) the Rooms are located in a building without lift 2)Old and almost broken Furniture , beds were pealing off 3) linen was old and dirty , poor quality We got this hotel at a good deal only to know that we were served with the poorest of quality Our room was on the third floor with no lift The quilt was dirty and old Our bed was old and pealing off ,just covered with linen. If you are taking the basic rooms in this hotel i strongly do NOT recommend The higher category rooms are too expensive for its price

Stay in Hotel Neelam's the grand was really exiting except for the check-in where in we were given twin bedded room instead of double bed room but after few requests they agreed to give us the double bedded suite. rooms were spacious and so was the lobby and pool area. food in the restaurant was also delicious. Thanx to Hotels.com for such a trip at reasonable price. and to the staff of Neelams the Grand for their valued service.

A nice hotel in the Calungate area. All rooms face the swimming pool and are clean. The staff is helpful and buffet meals are good. Recommended for families with kids. Only disadvantage is that it not at walkable distance from the beach.

This is definitely The Hotel for first timers as the location & property is excellent.It has also been maintained very well.Only drawback was the service as one has to remind twice to get any thing for any service.Also being a hotel of such repute they didn`t have English Dailies which is a must for every hotel. Overall A good Experience.

The hotel is newr to Colangut & Baga Beach. Very useful. Also, the market nearby has all convenience requirements. Taxis are easily available. The breakfast service is good. The pool facility is good, the room is spacious and nice. The balcony view is good.

Hotellet är ganska stort och ligger på gångavstånd från huvudgatan i Calangute. Personalen är trevlig och vänlig. Poolen och handduksutlåningen sköts mycket bra. Restaurangen serverar både indisk och continental mat till bra priser. Frukosten var riklig och äggrätter tillagades efter önskemål. På rummet fanns ac, kabeltv och vattenkokare. Jag är nöjd med min vistelse på detta hotell och kan tänka mig att återvända.

Väldigt hjälpsam personal när vi ville boka ytterligare en natt. Frukostbufén var bra och det fanns alternativ även för oss som inte var så mycket för indiskt. En stor nackdel var att det står att det finns internet på hotellet men man kunde bara ha tillgång till det mellan 9-22.30. En stor nackdel på grund av tidsskillanden hemma. Lite i längsta laget till stranden och en bit av vägen var väldigt traffikerad och omgivningen precis utanför hotellet är ganska stressig. Men överlag ett trevligt och fräscht hotell, lite tråkiga rum men poolområdet och andra utrymmen på hotellet var fräscha,

Hotellet Neelams the grand ligger nära calangutes huvudgata och hotellet var inte som vi hade väntat oss. Först fick vi ett litet rum som hade en balkong som gick ut 30 cm mot en massa skjul där det gick omkring massa höns och tuppar som lät förfärligt. Det rummet låg också på den sidan av hotellet där vägen ligger, det lät jättemycket och jag och min partner ville bara åka hem. Men som tur var fick vi byta rum och fick ett väldigt bra rum vid poolen. Hotellet är byggt så högt att det bara finns "soltid" mellan 11-15.00 vid poolen, dom har bara 7st solstolar , det finns mer personal än vad som behövs som bara står o stirrar vid poolen. En annan sak är att det är ett konferens center typ på hotellet, så det kommer stora grupper med indiska företag dit. Vi hade ofta svårt att somna och att somna om på morgonen. Restaurangen som de kallar "multi cuisine specialties" var inte mycket o hurra för. De hade inte speciellt god mat vare sig det var indisk eller västerländskt. Dyr som attans var den också. Dom flesta som jobbade där var väldigt trevliga och glada, men de flesta hade dålig engelska kunskap och man fick upprepa många saker.
