Hotel Del Mare - פיומיצ'ינו

This hotel is close enough for an overnighter before or after a flight. But finding a local taxi to take you there is a big problem for tourists. I recommend calling the hotel front desk to ask them to send a taxi to the terminal to meet you. The best thing about this hotel was the nice rooftop terrace with lounging chairs overlooking the shoreline. The room was clean. A popular local restaurant is next door. But the rest of the neighborhood is pretty run down. It really lacks the amenities to qualify as 3 star. One nice touch - free bicycles to ride along the beach a few minutes. Staff pleasant.

We stayed here one night based on it's proximity to the airport and really regretted it. The location is strange-- across the street from the water, but not really a charming beach town as you might think from the photos. We were there at the end of May and there was not much nearby open to walk to. I wish someone would have told us we should have just stayed in Rome and caught an early train to the airport. As for the hotel itself, our room was nearly uninhabitable due to a horrific smell. As my husband described it, it smelled like a whale had beached there, died, and rotted for a week. We were unable to move to another room, but when we left to look for somewhere to eat for dinner the receptionist sent housekeeping up to spray what must have been an entire can of room freshener around the room. It was pretty bad, but the rest of our vacation had been so great we just tried to laugh about it and sleep for a couple of hours before getting up extra early and getting the heck out of there. If not for the hideous smell, which may have been unique to that room as the rest of the place smelled ok, I would give this hotel 2 stars. In short, Rome is fantastic so just stay there. Or, if you must be close to airport, choose one of the brand name hotels right by the airport.

Too far walk from bus stop. No taxis. We reserved a taxi for back to the airport 18 Euros. Pleasant sunbathing balcony/deck and beach (but no swimming) Walking distance to nice seafood restaurant. Relaxing before long trip back to Canada.

The hotel lobby and terrace were very nice. I would love to spend a lot of time on their upstairs terrace full of lounge chairs overlooking the ocean. Nice breakfast and service. Our room was a little odd and very sparse in the decorating department, but fine. We were in a handicapped room, so it was very large. A/C worked GREAT! Beds and pillows hard as usual, nothing different there from other hotels. Great dining experience next door at Oltremare. This hotel worked as a final night before the airport, BUT it costs 20 euros each way to/from the airport - be sure to take a Fiumoncino taxi! (Not a Rome taxi.) The Roman port town ruins of Ostia Antica are nearby as well - seems worth checking out.

Service was great. All staff were very helpful. Their restaurant recommendation was great. Pinzimonio is just around the corner.

The first day the elevator was broken. The bed was not comfortable. The pillows were wafer thin. When we asked for another pillow I was told they couldn't get into the closet for one. This was in the early evening.

The view is beautiful if you have a room facing the beach which was our case. The breakfast is good compared to hotels of the same category. It is practical if you have a car because you can park for free on the lungomare street and the hotel is five minutes away from the airport. It is suitable for an overnight before a flight or for two or three days of relax near the beach if you're looking for a simple a nice location.

Everything was perfect except for the airconditioning. It sounded like a truvck and would occasionally cut out and then roar back into life. it kept us awake for a large portion of the night. Other than that the staff were friendly, the breakfast was good amd it was directly opposite the beach.

A nice place to relax that's fairly close to the Fiumicino airport, if you don't want to rush from Rome Termini the morning of your flight. Note: Taxis charge a flat rate between the airport and hotel.

Nice hotel. Rooms were clean and up to date. Easy to get to the airport. Seaview rooms did have a great view. For those without a view there is a common patio on the second floor. As of May 2012 the area was going though some construction.

Somewhat difficult to find (impossible, w MapQuest directions), but worth the search. Upon request, lovely sea view room with balcony & sea view. Neighborhood cat often comes to say hello. Street parking somewhat challenging w late arrival, b/c of excellent restaurant in building popular w locals. Very comfy bed. Delicious cappuccino at breakfast (continental). Helpful staff. Beach right across the street. Wld absolutely stay there again.

The service was Amazing. Very clean and stylish place... Wake up right on beach and open bay doors to such an amazing view! A must stay!

Some of the reviews did not like the location near the train station, but we loved it. Did not have to haul our luggage and lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. The breakfast was great because I am gluten free and they had meat, cheese, yogurt and fruits besides all the bread stuff. Only problem was no WI-Fi, you could pay for it, and free stuff was next door.

The hotel was a pleasant surprise. The room was outstanding with a fantastic view of the sea and our own large private balcony. It was a little more costly but very much worth it. We were staying at the hotel overnight until our flight the next day, but we would return for a longer stay another time.

This hotel is like being in a bed and breakfast!!! Loved the fact it was directly across the street from the beach and had amazing views from the 2nd floor veranda! Everyone who works there goes out of their way to make the guests feel comfortable!!!! Will recommend it to others!!!

I was stuck at the FCO airport for a day and stayed at this hotel overnight. The location is literally on the beach, overlooking the water and close enough that one can hear the waves crashing at night. The rooms are small yet very clean. My only complaint is that the hotel was not able to split the beds into 2 - so my friend and I just split the beds ourselves. They serve a small breakfast in the morning, and the hotel is located about a 10 min taxi ride from the FCO airport.

Its a quirky little hotel, right across the sandy beach. The staff is very nice and accommodating and helpful. Would definitely return. According to hearsay, the best seafood restaurant is around the corner. and it was......

the hotel was nice, but the room smelled like something had died in it. The balcony door had a broken hinge and was pretty hard to close. The smell was so bad at night we had to keep the balcony door open and got attacked by mosquitoes. They did blame the restaurant below, but I am not sure. We had room 33, anyone else have this same experience. My parents had room 36 and said it was fine?!

Mycket trevlig och prisvärt strandhotell. Vänlig, trevlig och servicevänlig personal. Bekväma rum, fin havsutsikt från superiorrummen med direktaccses till takterassen med solstolar.

Supert hotel til en bra pris. Kunne gjerne ha vært litt nærmere "sentrum" av byen. Bor der gjerne igjenn.

Ingen shopping att skåda, men härligt solläge och hotellet lånar ut cyklar till sina gäster. Helt okey frukost, men förstås med många kakor också på Italienskt vis. Gott om restauranger i närheten. Shuttletaxi till flygplatsen. Ingen busstrafiki närheten.

Nærhet til flyplass og kort avstand til badestrand var avgjørende for valg av hotell. Begge deler sto til forventning. Begrenset frokost, men positivt med toast og frukt. Utenfor sto illeluktende avfallskonteinere i full sol som sjenerte når vi satt på terassen. Senga var så hard ar ryggen var helt ødelagt, hadde ikke greid ei natt til. Kan kun anbefales til personer m god rygg eller oppgradere standaren på rommet.

Not many hotels to choose if you want to stay at the beach i in Fiumicino. Hotel del Mare is a nice hotel, well kept, Cleaning is good. Service is average. Breakfast is terrible unless you like cakes. If you want cheese you must ask for it and maybe you are lucky and get 2 slices. Found salami and ham now and then. Staff is ok, but not interested in the guests. Close to the beach. Nice terasse. Walking distance to Fiuminico and a good choice for combining beach and Rome. Though getting to Rome will cost you a lot in transportation. The best restaurant in the area is just around the corner.

Selve hotellet var fint og rent, med en flott takterasse. Ligger rett ved stranden, og en kort drosjetur til flyplassen / togstasjonen. Det som trekker ned er ar det er veldig lytt mellom rommene, og mye søppel i området rundt. Bl.a. sto det seks søppelkontainere rett nedenfor hotellet, mellom stranden og bygningen. Disse hadden en uforglemmelig stank som sitter i nesen flere dager etter oppholdet, og ved "riktig" vindretning, hadde vi hele stanken rett inn på rommet. Frokosten var typisk italiensk; kaker og søte saker. Det hadde gjort seg med litt grovmat for oss nordboere.
