Sense Beach House - מיאמי ביץ'

The hotel rooms are very noisy: the doors may as well be open they let so much hall noise through. The hotel was tastefully updated, but very cheaply... good to look at from afar, but far from good.

Grate location, helpful staff actually helped us a lot.

The hotel was let down by the standard of the restaurant. Breakfast took forever even though there were only two busy tables. One of our dinner dishes, salmon in white wine sauce, was tasteless. Coffee making facilities in the room would have been an asset.

Location was in a perfect spot. Close to the beach, shopping and restaurants. The front desk girl was beautiful and very helpful. Over all, very satisfied.

The location is great if you want the best of both worlds from Miami South Beach, it's far enough away from the noise and party aspects but still close enough to walk to the restaurants in the evening, head north for the cheaper ones, on Washington or south for a splurge. First impressions were great, a very boutique hotel with a nice laid back feel to it. We were checked in quickly and efficiently. Parking was offered but we'd already parked in the lot just behind the hotel for $30 since there was nowhere to park outside and check in. The room was really big and fresh with a small balcony we could see the sea from (not a full on sea view so beware if purchasing an upgraded room). Good quality shower with a medium flow (rain shower and hose) nice toiletries. Bit light on towels but enough for our 2 nights. Clean and comfortable with memory foam bed. We were below the pool but couldn't hear it. Pool are was great very relaxing with just a shallow pool but comfy loungers. Easy access across the road to the beach, the hotel will provide towels and chairs and the beach bag, nice touch. All in all it was pricey but so was everywhere else ($9 for a bottle of beer in the area!) I would stay here again,but not during spring break, it's everything it said it would be.

Just a bit south of the craziness that is Lummus Park, at the corner of Ocean Drive and 4th, sits the serene Sense Beach House. Our blue and white cinder-block room was nothing special. It actually felt like a college dorm, but it was clean and the bathroom with overhead shower was spacious (beware: we were offered a free "upgrade" to a room with an ocean view and balcony, but what we weren't told, until we asked, was that it meant giving up our king size bed and settling for a double...so we declined). No, the charm of this hotel is in the design, decor, and atmosphere. It's peaceful and chic. The beach is just a short walk across the street, and the hotel provides towels and folding chairs. There's plenty of shopping on Collins Ave (just a block away). Valet parking was $29, but they get your car to you as often as needed in 10-15 minutes. The rooftop pool is only three feet deep but it's a nice place to relax and enjoy the sunshine. We weren't thrilled with the young ladies who "manned" the front desk (too often, there seemed to be no one on duty), but when our ironing board fell apart, they were quick to deliver a replacement. If you don't want to pay the high prices at the luxury hotels with their private beaches, but don't want to put up with the loud music and crowded sidewalks north of 5th, then Sense Beach House offers a comfortable alternative.

Stayed for 2 nights with my girlfriend. Service was fine, but nothing exceptional. If anything the staff was very nice, just not super quick or sharp. Room was large, really cool laid back vibe. Restaurant is casual, relatively cheap, and good. Rooftop pool is a hidden gem. Beach is across the street, and the hotel gives you a little beach bag with towels and chairs--helpful! Only problem we had was that the water temp in the shower was either really hot or really cold.

I was very satisfied with the Sense Beach House. As soon as you walk through the door you get an amazing whiff of just a calming smell. The lobby area was recently renovated and is like a quaint beach house. The beds are super comfortable (kind of like a memory foam) and the rooms are smartly decorated. For the price and proximity to the beach--I highly recommend this hotel!

It exceeded our expectations. Very comfortable bed, bathroom well done, very clean. Had a nice balcony. Big flat screen mounted on wall easy to see. Would definitely go again.

RATE 4.5/5.0 From entrance to exit, from the welcome to the farewell, the experience exceeded my expectations. The people who make this beach house the wonderful place that it is offered warmth, kindness, laughter and thoughtfulness every day (not easy for the best of us). Equally as impressive was the presentation and taste of the food (absolutely delectable), not to mention the charm and sparkling smile of the Chef herself. When the time came to return to the chill of the NorthEast, we hugged our new found friends knowing that we had discovered a real treasure.

Cute hotel. Food at restaurant was super yummy and decent priced. Everything is easily walking distance. Beach is right across the road.

Great bath with rain shower head, memory foam mattress, outstanding food will now be my first choice for trips to Miami

Wonderful boutique hotel! Very personal service! Staff was excellent especially Mernie at the reception who made you feel welcome and very comfortable. Great location just outside of crowds and noise and an easy walk to the Beach! Hope to return!

Newly renovated 'beach house' theme feels nice. Kids loved the pingpong and foosball tables in lobby. Most of the staff were great. Would gladly stay again. A high point were the very comfortable beds made of some kind of memory foam. lap pool on the roof is small but the roof is a nice place to lie and get some quiet sun. Overall, a quiet, family-friendly oasis right next to the main drag.

Had a truly great time here. The rooms (bed, decor, bathroom, balcony) are fantastic. The hotel staff were outstanding.

We had a great time. The room was gorgeous ( I loved the overhead showerhead ) and the staff was very accommodating. They even printed out our boarding passes for our flight along with the weather forecast for NY. I will definitely be back!

I have been in many other hotels in Miami but the Sense hotel is one of the best for its price. Fantastic place

We came down to South Beach for a day in the sun and an evening out and Sense was the perfect place to stay. It's quiet, yet a block from the beach and two blocks from the Ocean Drive madness. Highly recommended and would definitely stay there again.

Real nice hotel, very clean, employees very helpful when needed, but the remodeling in the hotel was a little annoying......

Enjoyed our stay at Sense for 6 nights. Staff was wonderful and helpful. Even though they were adding a small restaurant, we were never disturbed by it. Great location.

Was very surprised by this smaller hotel. The rooms were beautifully decorated and the staff was so sweet.

This is a smaller boutique hotel located in SOBE. The building appears to have been fully renovated within the past few years. Since it is a smaller hotel, you don't have the typical services and amenities of a much larger hotel. However, the price is very reasonably considering it is located one block from the beach and close proximity to the restaurants and shops. It is is a very good choice if you do not plan to spend all of your time at the hotel. We would recommend this hotel and plan to stay here again next time we come to Miami.

Sense has the potential for being a great little hotel. Currently under construction, the hotel has a way to go. The room was clean, but the pipes rattled all night, the door dead bolt didn't work, the TV is at best confusing and some of the amenities in room were missing. The lobby is gettting a little restaurant soon. The Wi-Fi worked great. The biggest problem were the drunks in the hotel. If you like to party and want to come home at 1AM and be loud, go for it., otherwise spend a little more money and eliminate the trash.

Overall this was an excellent hotel located on Ocean Drive with Miami Beach a 2 min walk away. The rooms were large and very clean. The beds were super comfy and the bathroom was spacious and modern. The hotel offered valet parking and had a very small private pool. The service was top class with very friendly reception staff.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sense Hotel, we were travelling with our two children 12 & 14 and we all loved the Sense Hotel and Miami Beach, the hotel is located is a great spot and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Absolutely the BEST!!! Location is one block from the beach. Service was top notch. Make sure you can when you land so that your room will be ready. We had to wait till one was ready. Wasn't a problem considering how nice the room was when we got it. Very contemporary and the women love it fellas! Pool on the roof was a real nice plus. Balcony off the room was great for people watching and having cocktails prior to hitting the strip. Located just far enough down the strip where at night if you want quiet you can have it. Two blocks from Liquor store to fill the in room refrigerator. Staff have no problems making your reservations for dining, cab etc.Simply the best kept secret of South Beach for couples and singles. Not really geared for the family trip. So if its you wifey and the kids, this probably isnt the hotel for you. I cant wait to go back!!!!!!

Check in and out was quick and easy. Quality of service was great - any question about the area was addressed in detail by frontdesk each day of our 4 day stay, and if they did not have the answer they called someone or looked it up online - very nice, respectful and professional staff - thank you! I was iffy of the valet parking, but it was also easy to drop the car and as long as we called 15/20 minutes prior our car was waiting for us when we needed it.

I booked this hotel not expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised at how modern and clean the hotel was. The bed was soo comfortable and the staff were so friendly. My one complaint was, I forgot to leave a tip. I feel so bad about it that my Mom suggested I mail the tip. I will just have to visit again very soon.

If you are looking for a place to stay near the beach for an affordable price, within walking distance of everywhere in south beach, then this is the hotel for you. If you want personal service, to feel like you are staying at a friend's, then this is the place for you! I can't under-emphasize how happy I was with the hotel and staff. I am definitely going back there.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect. Less than a block to the beach and to all the action. The rooms were nice and the beds were super comfy. Will definitely be staying here again.

The hotel was clean and the room was nice and big, a big rest room and a little balcony. There is a bit more action around street 8-15, but it's a short walking distance, plus that it's nice not to live where the party is. Superb sandwiches 100 m uptown!!! (Can't remember name, situated at the other corner at same block, Ocean Dr. Also Walgreens and other stores very close. No problem taking big towels from hotel to beach. Maybe you can get a cheaper hotel with the same comfy, but this was good. No problem parking just outside the hotel (April midweek), maybe worse att weekends though. Costs 15-20 dollars a night parking.

This was our first trip to Miami. I was pleasantly surprised by the location - just a block from the water and all the craziness of Ocean Dr. north of Fifth so you could easily walk to everything but not be kept up all night. I liked the design of the hotel - very spare and modern. Unfortunately, our room had seen better days. The shower door was broken so you could not close it all the way, the toilet bowl was stained and scratched, some of the tile around the shower surround was chipped. There were a few ants in the bathroom and bedroom - maybe that's common in this area. The woman at the front desk was fantastic - very friendly and helpful. I wish I knew her name. She worked Easter and never acted like she wished she was home, though I'm sure she felt that way.

I've stayed at the Sense for two consecutive stays. The hotel is located right south of the very noisy part of Ocean Drive, enabling a good nights sleep without compromising with the location. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly - just don't expect them to be around all the time. In fact don't expect a lot of services at this hotel. I would highly recommend it to anybody who is looking for a great "local" stay in Miami Beach without all the amenities of the bigger hotels. As the hotel does not have a restaurant, try Big Pink's for breakfast. It's very close to the hotel, very local and you will not leave hungry :-)

My wife and I loved our stay at Sense South Beach. Its in a great location close to all the action, but far enough away if you are looking for a little peace and quiet. The room and balcony was amazing! Great relaxed atmosphere, and attentive staff. Will be staying there again!

Sense is a lovely little hotel in a great location - close enough to the action but tucked in away in a quieter area of SoBe. Loved the tempurpedic mattresses and rooms were clean and comfortable. Pick up a hotel chair and towel, walk across the street, and you are on a lesser crowded stretch of beach. Although there is no in-hotel cafe, there are plenty nearby and it was a short walk to nearby Starbucks for morning coffee. Alex was extremely helpful and gave us great recommendations for restaurants, clubs, shopping etc. When we return to SoBe we look forward to staying here again!
