Soundings Seaside Resort - דניס פורט

In October in Cape Cod find a different hotel. This is a timeshare facility and while the room was nice - it only had a full size bed and the bathroom was very small with no where to set anything. For the price of the room, I was expecting a more deluxe room.The location was not close to anything else and checking prices at other hotesl this one was 3 times the price.

Under new management. The rooms were wonderful and we would stay again.....needs a tiki bar and it would be heaven!

I choose this hotel totally out of instinct, since I wanted to make my wife's birthday special. The previous reviews were helpfull, but outdated since all of them talked about some renovations. The place is gorgeous and the decor in the room was nothing short of excellent. The closeness to the beach was awesome and the view priceless (even though it was an ocean view room and not ocean front). I heard the new management was working on the liquor-license which I honestly thought was the only thing missing. The staff where very helpfull, rooms very well stocked with cutlery and all the necessary, the indoor pool was appropriately warmed. The sea had too much weed, but that's probably a seasonal thing, if not natural. We plan to become regulars at this place if the management can maintain the standard they have set currently. Thanks to the staff and management for making our stay memorable.

We were in Cape Cod for a family event and only stayed one night. Scored a nice deal since it was the off-season. We liked our room and bathroom -- reno was done very nicely; lots of higher-end touches. The gas fireplace is a really nice touch. Due to our schedule, we weren't able to make use of the pool/spa but I believe the spa was under maintenance anyway. The grounds were nice and right off the beach. Enjoyed our breakfast out on the lawn in the Adirondack chairs, looking at the water and enjoying the sun and wind. Would definitely come back if an opportunity arises.

In the middle of MAJOR renovations. It looks like they are pretty much gutting every building to remodel. The room we stayed in was oviously a new one and it was fantastic. Everything brand new and the usage of space was remarkable. The suite was not huge but comfortably fit a master bedroom/master bath with a full kitchen/living room area featuring a gas fireplace and flatscreen tv. The second bedroom was a dining room that folded down to a comfortable queen with a second full bed. I'd make sure to get a renovated room but I would highly reccomend this place.

Wonderful stay at the Cape. First time at this hotel. Newly remodeled but done very cheap and not completely finished. Room was very clean no complaints there. Didn't like that there was a trash can right outside the window of my room. Not the place for it. The room was very bright at night. Woke up several times at night thinking it was daytime. No it wasn't daytime, just the resessed lights above the window that stay on all night. The lobbie was beautifuly remodeled. Still have a ways to go on the old buildings though. I would stay again but only in the newly renovated building. Will be a great place once completely done.

We stayed recently and were given a renovated room, though there was lots of ongoing construction. Our room was super clean, very comfy and had a great little kitchen, fridge, etc... The whole place should be great once they get all the work done!

The room was the perfect size and in a great location. It was one of the cleanest hotels I've stayed in. Our stay was short but we are looking forward to staying there again in the future.

Was very pleased with the condition of the resort. Knew it was under construction and visited just after hurricane Irene came through. Stayed in 2 bedroom suite and enjoyed it...right by the indoor pool which was a hit with the kids. Looking forward to staying again and seeing the completion of the resort next year.

Currently going thru a major facelift including new buildings. This is a great Cape Cod location many rooms facing the ocean with a 25 yard walk to the private beach.

The hotel is undergoing a renovation - seems they're knocking down and rebuilding one building at a time. It looks like we were put in the oldest of the buildings (and the one most likely to be razed and rebuilt). The ocean view was nice, but the porch furniture was not well cleaned, and the room smelled of mildew and mold all night - very unpleasant. Also, we felt that we were greeted at the front desk in a less than professional manner - a little ditsy, a little flippant.

After a couple issues with our toilet, maintenence figured out that someone had dropped a small bottle down the toilet which explained a lot! During that ordeal the front desk and maintenence people were very helpful during an otherwise very frustrating first day there. Our room was everything you want in a home away from home. Clean! Bed was comfy, housekeeping does a great job and is prompt, the grounds are kept up very well. The ocean is sooo warm and it's literally right outside your front door. The rooms on the wings are being renovated and are going to be gorgeous after. We stayed in the regular older part of the hotel. Not the HIlton by any means but it was great for me and my husband. Great water pressure in the shower and toilet. Lots of towels supplied. NO funky smells, it was quiet at night. Basic cable. I sporadically got the WiFi to work (had to go out on the balcony). Everyone has their own balcony which is nice. We had the first floor so we could just walk out to the pool area/beach. Lots of lounging chairs on the grass near the beachside pool out front and plenty of picnic tables. There are two pools, outdoor one right next to the beach, the other is an indoor pool in the middle of the hotel area. Great for when it's raining! The best part? There were two bunnies that came out in the afternoon/evening to munch on the grass. So cute! My husband and I are officially in love with Dennisport and will be back to the Soundings next year for sure... this time for much longer I hope!

Made reservation early. I requested 2nd floor. Was there week before this visit and requested 2nd floor. Requested same by phone 2 days earlier. Repeated upon early arrival. Not only did we get 1st flloor. We had a view of the current construction and were surrounded by black netting. The crew began their noisy day at 7a and their loud and lewd conversation at the same time. They were talking about the guests and even remarked on people who were saving chairs at that time. They are contracted. What should they care?? At any rate. That room should not be used during construction. Front desk was useless. No one cares. Another couple had their reservation lost. But did honor it becaus they supplied confirmation plan to write to manager. Not pleased at all m

I love the private beach and that there is parking. This was the second time I stayed here. The rooms are clean for the most part - convenient to places to eat and shop. I booked on line this year for a room that slept 3. I was traveling with my grown son and teenage daughter - when we opened the door to our room - it was one king sized bed. I went back to desk, as a room that was advertised to sleep three should have more than 1 bed - I would think. Anyway, they were totally booked and gave us extra pillows and blankets for my son to sleep on the floor. This was not very comfortable for my son. I think that if a room is advertised to sleep 3 - they should have at least 2 beds with one being a double or larger. They didn't try to make any other concessions - so I was not too pleased with that. Not sure if I would stay there again. I looked in the area for other places to stay...there are plenty.

We chose the soundings becuase we needed a one night stay. We are very familiar with the area and knew that the Soundings is undergoing renovations. Most beach resorts provide beach towels that you pick up and leave in a box at the entrance to the beach. The Soundings does not offer beach towels and told us to bring them from our room. This lack of detail is inadequate-guests do not bring towels from home and then have to bring sandy towels to the room. We stayed in an older room and the bed was quite uncomfortable.I hope that the Soundings puts new beds in as they renovate. The location is great but I do not recommend this hotel this year. It is generally run down and sad feeling.

The room was well worn but clean. We had a great view of the ocean. The beach area was easy to access and very clean. I would stay at this hotel again.

We stayed in one of the newly renovated units and it was wonderful.

nice location but hotel needs renovation.Rooms aren't in a good condition.However there is a beach so close and 2 pool which make staying there enjoable.

Room was adequate - could have used a makeover. Hopefully they will address these after the new construction is finished. (Construction in back was not pretty and a little noisy.) The restaurant served a great breakfast. The pool area was clean and relaxing. All in all a pleasant stay.

We stayed in the older section of this resort. It is in need of an upgrade, to say the least. Bedding and decor are dated. I wouldn't dare swim in either the outdoor or indoor pool (cloudy). They are in the process of adding rooms, which look very nice. I will wait until the new rooms are available before returning here.

There is construction going on, so my view from the balcony was a bunch of building stuff then the beach. Once the construction is finished it's going to be great. The room I stayed in was older, but clean and nice and had a balcony that overlooked the beach. People are nice and coffeeshop had nice coffee. The private beach is great. I will definitely go back next summer, maybe get a room in one of the new wings.

I rented a studio room for my family, having been told that there would be plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 children plus an infant. Room was small, however, manageable. There was a noticeable lack of storage space, and we had to put the coffee tables in the bathroom to open the sleeper. We were unable to contact the front desk or security at 1:30 in the morning when our neighbors returned to their room extremely loud and with constant cursing. I was told the next morning that the front desk phone is turned to silent and that I should have contacted security (didn't have the number). Otherwise our stay was very nice, the room extremely clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Lots of construction with many of the buildings being renovated and the grounds were being relandscaped, but it didn't impact on our stay.

Everything that you will read about the hotel needing to be updated is true! It is old, the tub did not drain properly, the carpets were a bit sketchy. So if you are planning on spending a lot of time in your room, do not stay here. HOWEVER, if you want a convenient hotel away from the chaos of Yarmouth or Hyannis, this is it. We traveled with friends and had a total of 4 adults and 4 children, ages 2-12 and we had a blast. The kids were able to go from the pool to the beach all day and we could see them wherever they were. The waves were not too big and when the tide was out the beach was great to walk on with the kids. We used our room only to sleep so it was fine. From 12-3 you could purchase burgers or hot dogs right on the premises, and across the street there is a nice, fancier restaurant called the Ebb Tide. It was also about a 25 minute ride to Coast Guard Beach if you want the bigger waves. To sum it up...good location and convenient grounds, but rooms need MAJOR overhaul - which we were told they were working on. For the money it was worth it.

Fantastic deal for the price. Right on the ocean and 20 mins from Chatham. Easy to park and get to room. Not luxury but who cares. Has what you need and is clean. Bring your own shampoo and cond. and you'll be all set. I totally would stay here again. We only needed it for 1 night to attend a wedding in Chatham and the drive was quick. It's your basic hotel room with a view of the ocean and a place to rest your head. Thanks!

The hotel was on the beach with beach chairs for use. There was an indoor and outdoor pool. They served breakfast in the AM. There was a small poolside concession stand. I rented efficiency. It was small but useful. The room was dated but a value for the money. The air conditioner was so loud that it was difficult to sleep.

We had a great time at The Soundings. The pools, beach and putting green were great places for the kids to make friends. The other guests were friendly and some appeared to come back year after year. We really liked the coffee shop and the poolside lunches. My favorite was the french toast in the coffee shop. I loved looking out at night and seeing the moon on the water. There were great places to eat and get ice cream near by. My son also like playing at nearby arcades and playgrounds. Yes, the place seemed a little dated and musty, but that's what you get on the beach for this price. They could use a few more hooks in the rooms to hang wet things. Coffee makers in the room would be good, too. We brought our own. We'll be back again one day.

Unfortunately we were not informed by Hotels.com that this hotel was under renovations. We booked our room which was facing another building of the same establishment but that building was under renovation. This resulted in us not being able to enjoy our balcony with ocean view as the balcony and the chairs were always filled with dust from the adjacent building. Our room was very old, smelly and should not be rented out. We were totally dissatisfied with the service as employees did not seem to care at all - even more so, we were very surprised that hotels.com did not inform us on the state of the hotel.
