Nothing fancy, but clean and quiet. Innkepper helpful. Wireless only available in lobby.

Just outside Kilkenny City, approx. half hour walk. Hotel was clean and well maintained. Ted the owner was friendly and had all areas covered.

The owner seems to be all on his own, and a bit stretched thin. He seemed very nice, if frantic. The interior is charming, if very dark. The lack of elevator is understandable in such an old building, though difficult with heavy bags and steep stairs. The laminate floors turned our socks a bit black from a lack of sweeping, but the bathrooms were in decent condition. The lack of screens on the windows of Ireland meant a lot of moths in the bath, whose window had to remain open to get the damp air out. It was a short drive into town, but the area was not one for taking a stroll.

very nice stay and found the owner Ted as we were told to call him very helpfull and will stay again in near future.

We used the hotel for an overnight stay on our route to the ferry port. The owner was extremely helpful providing a ground floor room for my 87 year old mother. Although not serving dinner the hotel provided a list of recommended restaurants in the town centre. Breakfast was opened early for us on the Saturday morning with an excellent selection of food. The hotel service was excellent.

This Hotel is out of town,therefor your own transourt is a must. Plenty of parking available.They dont seem to turn on lights much at all there, Hotel is quite dark inside.Breakfast was served in cold and dark restaurant, NO lighting on whatsoever, no heating on in the restaurant either. Totally lacking atmosphere of any description.The Restaurant was closed so any traveller requiring food would be better to find a local restaurant in City or surrounding area. The Bedroom itself was small but warm, comfortable enough.Staff x3. I think Owner covers reception and cooks breakfast, Lady ( probably owners wife ,works the bar and their is a cleaner that i spoke to.

I spent three nights at the Kilkenny House Hotel, and I would move in here if I could! I'd never been to Ireland before (let alone the town of Kilkenny), and I was treated like a princess from the moment I walked through the door. It's a family-run hotel, and Ted (the patriarch) greeted me upon arrival. He was friendly and hugely helpful. He told me about the amenities, the breakfast schedule, and he even told me about an economics/comedy festival going on in town that weekend. I have been taken care of, 100%, and I would absolutely return. Thank you.

Hotel very quiet, heating not switched on through the day, and lookedand felt like trying to save money. Bar not open on Thursday night, ( our arrival date). Breakfast was continental Mon - Sat ( but you could also have fried or boiled eggs) , with a full Irish breakfast only available on Sunday. Owner was very helpful.

the rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. Basil and Manuel are hilarious, they had us laughing so much our sides were aching. Great value in the restaurant and the breakfast was terrific - it only advertised a continential breakfast but there was so much more including eggs on toast. If you want a clean comfy room and be looked after by great staff - stay here.

A good location for enjoying Kilkenny - a lively, welcoming town. A 20 minute walk gets you into the centre of Kilkenny. Comfortable, clean hotel with plenty of parking. Good breakfast.

Ejerens egne ord, og det var det. Der var alt, hvad vi havde brug for. Rent og pænt. Fine senge. Gå-afstand fra byen: 20 min., men det var helt o.k. prisen og standarden taget i betragning.
