Iberotel Aswan - אסואן

The hotel was clean, well maintained, with not many visitors. We only ate breakfast at the hotel, and the food was good, but could have done with some daily variety, as the same food was served daily without any change. I requested that from the breakfast executive chef, that as the local market was full of over 10 types of fruit, he could provide something more than just dates and oranges-grapefruit. The next day he gave us a fruit salad, but disappointingly, half the salad was from a tin. The effort and intent were well meant, but with so much seasonal fruit in the market, there is no excuse for tinned fruit. Hotel is located within short horse carriage ride from bazaar and small restaurants, and walking distance to ferry for west bank. Gardens and pool were well maintained but not used. Hotel reception was helpful, and answered our queries promptly. We would definitely stay there again.

Was pleased with service of hotel staff. Was able to get Abu Simbel tour setup same morniing I requested it. Room was clean, bed acceptable but could have been less hard. Nice view of Nile and quiet.Good breakfast buffet. Close to train station.

The service received compensate the maintenance problems encountered

The hotel is well-situated and the room we had had an amazing view of the Nile. The hotel service was efficient, but the hotel itself is a bit strange. It's cavernous wit oversized uncarpeted hallways. Th rooms are smaller and utilitarian ad the beds were VERY VERY firm. We were told the hotel had been built by the military and that it is where tey often stay when they are in town--maybe the reason for what we saw. We were only there one night and did not try the food, so cant comment beyond general imporessions and the quality and comfort of the room.

This hotel is incredibly over-priced for the service received. The worst I experienced in my entire stay in Egypt - from check-in to check-out the staff simply do not care about the guests needs but more about enforcing petty hotel rules and policies. After a joke of reception - no porters to assist with bags etc, receptionist too busy texting on his phone to welcome us and finding our own way to our room (again with no one to assist with our luggage etc) we decided to head to the pool for a relaxing dip. However the pool is across a busy main road so we had to go down from our 4th floor room, walk through the lobby and out the main doors, across the parking lot and then down more stairs to a tunnel under the road... Where I went to collect towels but the pool boy refused to give them too me saying I needed a 'towel card'. I showed him my room key but he told me to go back to my room and get my towel cards! We certainly couldn't be bothered so just too a quick swim and proceeded to walk back to our room - through the lobby and up in the elevator etc - in our dripping wet bathing suits! I later request towel cards from reception as this had not been given to us at check-in (as the receptionist was too busy texting). Hotel location is very inconvenient - a long walk from restaurants, souk, ferries, train station etc. Wouldn't be so bad if taking a taxi wasn't such a hassle! Breakfast buffet was very poor. No fresh fruit, no fresh juice etc. Swimming pool wasn't very impressive - only a dozen or so sun-loungers for a hotel with hundreds of rooms. The one positive of this hotel was free wifi Internet access in the lobby/restaurant area. Would not stay here again - plenty of much better value budget options in Aswan that might not have the same facilities but they do have great friendly service and good locations!

Wij zijn vier dagen in dit hotel geweest. Wij zijn uiterst tevreden van alle diensten van het hotel. Het is een zeer mooi, verzorgd hotel. Het personeel is uiterst vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Niets is te veel. Zelfs de kleinste details. Een echte AANRADER. De bereikbaarheid naar station of andere bezienswaardigheden is perfect te doen met taxi of boot. Dank u wel voor de fijne vakantie!
